Yesterday night, the time zone changed from +5hrs GMT to +6 Hrs GMT for Karachi, Pakistan. however, we do not have any such change in the country and all other mobile handsets around me have no issue with that.
How can I revert back to correct time zone for my country? I have already disabled automatic setting of time zone. but when I select my city it again shows the wrong time.
Any solution?
Islamabad and Karachi both show as +5 GMT on mine and have never changed. Do you have a net connection available to the phone?

Thought no one would reply so didnt check the thread for a few days.
I do have WiFi connection and also connected to GPRS/EDGE network. My friend bought a Legend which also has the same problem. Any suggestions?
Any solution for this bug yet ???? I am on a generic latest rom and facing the above mentioned problem, i have tried everything to sort it out but nothing worked out for me. Please give us a solution if possible.
Anyone with any solution ?

Seems the time zone is hard coded; if u change date to November 15 the time zone reverts back to +5:00 GMT for Islamabad and Karachi.
I can't really help as I don't have this issue here in the UK for those places.

Is anybody else having problems with the time change staying correct?
Both mine and my wife's phones won't keep the correct time.
I have called Verizon and the only thing they say is to set the date/time to manual.
I don't see why they won't fix their crap.
I have tried the *228 number and done both options and the time still won't hold.
Any ideas?
BTW: my wife's phone is the Samsung Fascinate (stock not rooted).
EDIT: it seems as though Verizon fixed it sometime within the past few hours.
It was just daylight savings time, could that be what your problem is?
Yes. Neither one of our phones will keep the correct time zone.
And it started when the time was supposed to change over.
In the Settings > Date & time menu is the option to use the networks' time. And for some reason it will change the time zone from central time to central mountain time.

Hi, was wondering if this has happend to anyone else, and/or is there a fix for it.
I have noticed that for the past month or so my time has been incorrect even when I set it to be correct. It keeps the time for about 3-4 hours then it starts loosing it as much as 15mins!
It seems to happen on every ROM that I use, so I cant see it being a ROM issue.
ITs really annoying tho!
Anyone else had this problem?
Thank, stoff
Does this not have anything to do with the auto time function and the time on the network of your provider?
I know that here in the Netherlands customers of Vodafone overslept themselves due to a time zone error in the network. The auto adjustment of time set their phones an hour early so that they woke up an hour late
Edit: So try to uncheck the auto adjustment and check with your provider if their time setting is correct.
I thought it could've been that so I left it unchecked but no difference! I even changed sim card to o2 instead of virgin but it still happens! Weird.

Have you made any experiments with overclocking? Maybe something messed up the clock hardware.
But the carrier should update the clock from time to time, I think...
Naa I don't over clock my phone. I'm just learning to live with it being 15mins slow or so!

I don't have a cause for you but I do have a workaround that I use on my Asus Transformer that won't keep time properly, an app called ClockSync (available from the Market).
Thanks, I'll give it a try

Have you got another device for checking? Put the SIM into another device for checking wether it goes there or not. Second, call your provider. Most of the time its something wrong with provider network.
Since your device is able to get mobile network in certain areas, it is most probably a provider problem.
I hope it helps!
Greetings

Then, I think, a fresh install would be the best. Either superwipe or factory reset

Got exact same problem here. Thought I was the only one. Weird enough only at my home. Inside a radius of 200 meters.
Factory reset doesn't work, New sim doesn't work, flashing custom rom doesn't work. APN settings checked and they were ok.
I contacted my provider to see if the problem on their side. Because I have the problem only at home.
Will keep you updated as soon I know more about it.
@edit:
When the problem first encountered here, I used a tool called "Shark" and "Shark Viewer" to capture my network traffic. Sites and apps are responding back, but the packets that I get were 0 in size. They were almost all empty, only the Google Talk app was able to send packets which actually contains data.
Today i will change my handset in a new one. Them i will test it again with the same simcard on the same place. I will update here.

Any news in this. I have the same problem, and im beginning to think my phone might be defect?
Same here, i woke up without data connection, simply turrning phone to fligt mode and back fixed it. But its weird really weird
I think this is some software issue not H/W , anyone with the same problem ?
Me too, this is weird, think its a bug or has anything to do with the new update that I didn't get?

Take a look at the thread below and the posts by mikeyxda.

If u have rooted ur phone u have a fix.
Otherwise u have to wait for HTC to bring a fix via OTA.
Chances are this problem always existed for you and others from the beginning but you just didn't notice it because it is very scenario-specific.
Phone must be OFF the charger and it only happens at night times (12am-7am or something like that) to BOTH wifi and mobile data...
Hope this helps some
Oh lol that happens on almost every phone Wtf. Just reboot... Really!

Ever since DST ended, my time on my phone is all over the place. What is sprint doing. Have others had this issue.

Mine changes every now and then too. I'm in Chicagoland, but only happens to me downtown

Go figure. I'm chicagoland as well..

Mine jumped a timezone on DST morning and set back two hours. It took about 2 hours before sprint finally got the time and time zone right.
Both my sprint phones have been doing this, and if I uncheck the "use network time" option it just reverts later. Pissing me off! Also in Chicago.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Also in Chicagoland here, mine jumped back the hour for DST and switched to Mountain time zone. I manually changes the zone back to Central that day, but have since selected the network time option and things have been fine.

same here when i'm in chicago. quite annoying, the issue with manual time setting is that when you reboot the phone, it messes the time up by a lot and then whatsapp displays an error message about time being off.
also, 3g data speed is abysmal and 4g data speed is what's passes for 3g speed on other networks. and random reboots on stock FI27 with 4ish hour battery life. looks like it's about time to check out a 4.1 rom.
I live in Chicago and am also having the same issue. When DST ended my phone dropped an hour then around 1400hrs it jumped ahead to the Eastern time zone. It holds for a while by changing back to Central time zone but always reverts back. I will be giving Sprint a call and let you know what they say.
I live by midway airport and the same thing happens to me. I just chose to set the date and time manually and it doesnt change anymore.
Hello people!
I have a problem with my M9 for about two months now that started right after it was updated (through OTA) to Andrid 7.
In the classic HTC weather clock location is not found most of the times.
When you update location then it appears but after a few hours location is lost again.
Even after returning phone to factory setting delting everything the problem remains.
I sure hope you can help me solve this as it is becoming very annoying.
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you force update of the location 4 or 5 times it works again but after a few hours (or if you change from 4G to wifi and vice versa) it loses location again.
What I would realy like is for it to update the location and weather following the location I am each time.

No help here but I have noticed that the phone will sometimes misidentify my location as Rochester NY (I am actually in Colorado Springs).
