Hi guys. New to the forum.
Here's the deal.
Got a HTC touch diamond (below spec.) last week. Got it second hand and it seem to me it works pritty slugish. I mean it takes like 1-2 seconds before the phone recognize I'm trying to slide on the quick links menu in the bottom. Also the free memory after a cleanRam secion is abt 20 MB. Also smtimes the phone would not respond and nothing would help but removing the battery.
Can you please sujjest what the reason might be is it a bad ROM? Does win 6.1 work better on the Diamond as it comes with it preinstalled? Looking for some advise before changing the ROM.
T-Mobile MDA Vario IV
Bluetooth version - 2.0/2.0+EDR
O.S. Version: Win Mob 6.5 professional
CE O.S. 5.2.28011 (28011.5.5.0)
Manila version 2.5.19211619.0
ROM 28011_KH WWE
Radio version 1.09.25.23
Protocol version 52.51.25.26H
Thanks in advance!
ROM
WM6.1 is not as quick as 6.5, but it should not be taking as long as you are describing to do anything
Chances are there is a piece of software installed making the phone sluggish, you can remove programs just like a PC in the phones settings, have a look down the list and see if there is anything there you dont want
If you choose to upgrade to WM6.5 I highly recommend "BsBG 6.5" from this link
I have tried 100's of ROMs and this is the only one where everything works flawlessly on it (Dont forget to Flash the unlocked Radio and Security unlock the phone before upgrading)

hi
does any one know.... the clubimate initially posted a date of sept 30 but thats like half a month ago...and then no news..
i was wondering if any of you know>>>
They have released a new ROM. It's on the site. Go look on their site - http://www.clubimate.com
inspectorgadget ...the rom posted (though has a higher version than the ones shipped on the devices originally) but is actually the same version literally..the imate ppl by mistake put an arabic rom for jasjar as UPGRADE on their site which when used by many many ppl to upgrade led them to have a very expensive paper weight... the imate ppl then to correct their fault released the current rom (with a different version number to differentiate from shipped roms) so that those expensive paperweights could be used as pda's and phones again...
at that time when this debacle happened imate support ppl wrote on that very page that infact the correct rom UPDATE (not restore) would be released sept 30th....that date has come and gone half a month ago..and there is no official news on that jasjar support page anymore regarding the actual ROM UPDATE... hence my question here...
No it is not technically the same ROM. Try a search on the forum....you will see that they originally posted an arabic rom, then they posted the original rom to fix that mistake, and then they posted the new rom.
The rom version shipped with the device is:
Rom version: 1.12.00
Radio version: 1.03.00
ExtROM version: 1.12.132
And the new one:
Rom version: 1.13.53
Radio version: 1.03.01
ExtROM version: 1.13.137
I'm not sure what the new features are exactly, but I do know that the operator gprs/mms settings are now installed for you when you hard reset the phone, and there is an antivirus cab file too which you can install, but I lost mine.
There is also now application signing too, which is annoying, but can be disabled in the registry.
People say there is more free memory after the update...about 7mb I think.
hi
the antivirus **** cabs been on mine since start...and after unistalling the back gammon, antivirus and skype cabs after hard reset the newer versoin of the rom has infact 700kb less space than the original one shipped on my jasjar
Need Help Please on jasjar new rom
I loaded the new rom on my jasjar and my whole screen disappeared and I don't know how to bring it back to life.
I tried to reset in every way but it comes back to the same black screen and I'm not able to sync. I'm pulling my hair

1)dont panic
2)search for UNI_ExitBootloader.zip. run the exe in it to get the things back to normal. This often happens with g4 universal.
And yeah, make sure that the activesync is set not to listen the usb ports
jasjar is not seen on USB
I have the same problem with my Jas Jar, after trying to update.
I tried UNI_ExitBootloader.zip but unfortunately the connection with USB does not recognize the device. I checked the activesync connections settings many times, but the Jas jar is like dead. Is not recognised by the USB!!!!!
any suggestion......

Hi all.
I just bought an Orange spv m700. Original owner has debranded it and installed WM 6.1
Device name: HTC_P3600i
Model NO: TRIN100
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
ROM version 3.03.751.5
ROM Date: 04/01/08
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
I'm new to this flashing lark, and to tell you the truth I see little difference from the WM5 I'm used to (and I prefer the blue spec of WM5 to the green WM6.1)
What difference should WM 6.1 have made to the device?

I'm getting there.. using the stylus to handwrite messages is incredibly faster! Yep, growing to love this as much as the spv m600.
Schaps Advanced configuration tool (works w/wm6.1.) has a tweak to stop SIM contacts appearing, which is cool, and to lower volume of start up sound.

Nice link Tnyynt, very interesting read.
I'm avoiding the ever increasing temptation to test all these "great" roms out there because:
1. I don't know how easy it is to install them.
2. If anything goes wrong with my phone I can not sleep, eat or work til it is fixed!
Well, seems like is been unlocked already....so I don't think you should have any problem if you decide to upgrade/downgrade.Otherwise you can always unlock it yourself and even fix it.
Play with it and enjoy it after that, just decide what you want to do....but wm6 and 6.1 go really smooth, regarding wm5 blue theme I'm sure you can get it online, plus tnyynt is making some kick ass themes upon request.
Kind regards.
Hi DTA.
Thanks for the reply.
To tell you the truth, I have no idea yet how to change a rom. The phone came from ebay as it is, more or less.
BUT! This week I have learnt:
1. How to install a new theme - just need to copy a .tsk file to my device!
2. How to tweak - just insert the necessary .cab file for the tweaking program and tap on it to install!
There seem to be some great looking ROMS out there, most tempting, but as far as I can see from WIKI, changing a ROM is a lot more tricky and risky, no? I'm willing to learn, but I really need a step by step guide for dummies! (which I haven't found in "Wiki" yet).
This is a good guide www.trinityguides.info or send a PM with your questions and concerns.
lol... I just been reading that! Bizarre coincidences.
I guess it's NOT that tricky! I know I have Hard-SPL installed on my device (saw it when I flashed new Radio Ram).
So, I guess, all I need is to pick a ROM .cab file (I now know they appear as a .zip file) and do it. So many to choose from in the threads, but then you scroll on a bit and see posts from people who have run into all sorts of problems!
I don't think I'm really into all this touch-flo cube stuff. It looks cool but I wonder if it's really that useful or practical to use... so many recommended Rams out there!

the original WM5 on HTC version is Green also (puke no more blue theme) and the orange (SPV) were... orange .
well well well... windows 6.1 is as pretty as WM6 but as fast as WM5...
as always there is some bug but you can nearly solve all of them consulting this forum
i will never go back to WM5
Hi folks!
Sorry - I am a complete novice to ROM upgrades etc...
I have an MDA Touch Plus Mobile with T-Mobile, running Windows Mobile 6.0.
I want to upgrade to WM 6.1 or 6.5, however the HTC website suggest that my phone (via S/N number) is not valid for the 6.1 upgrade...
T-Mobile support is worse than pathetic and offer no advice at all...
Can anyone suggest if it's possible to get the upgrade for my phone and how I would go about it...?
( Remember I'm a novice to Rom upgrades!)
P.S.
Many thanks and aplogies to those guru's out there who have gone through this issue a million times with folk like me...
- As a Db Progress developer I can relate - Give me a Progress DB and I'm happy, give me a car with a broken Altenator and I pass....
Cheers
Ron
First install the Hard SPL boot loader, after that install a custom rom with wether wm6.1 or wm6.5.
Take a deep look http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=404 here.
Everything you need can be found THERE.
Check out the HardSPL thread and then start reading about custom roms.
If you have any questions : read again. If you still have any questions : read again...

hi,
I am quite a newbie, and have had a lot of fun and some success in burning roms thanks to all the guides on here.
Q: would it be possible to backup the Orange branded WM 6.1 rom on a TYTN II and use the backup to re-flash to an Orange WM 5 Trinity ?
despite all the boos and catcalls I may get - I actually like the Orange branding/sidebar etc.
(typed whilst holding a box over my head)
the reason I am considering this is to get the WM 6.1, and that the Orange in the Tytn version has a 'Go To ...'
on rh softkey that allows me to personalise the sidebar.
the current rom details are -
Tytn
rom ver 3.28.61.0.WWE 05/02/08
radio 1.65.16.25
Trinity (I re-flashed from HTC Mozzer’s Orange_Trinity off the forum)
Rom ver 1.23.61.5 02/08/07
Radio 1.38.00.11
Is this really practical .. or do I simply need some kind of current Orange plug-in to get all that branding ?
could it be as simple as doing a full system backup on the Tytn with SPB Backup and ‘restoring’ that onto the Trinity ?
or is the real truth that I have finally lost my marbles ?
any honest answers welcomed. (even from psychiatrists)
Kevin
actually no.
roms are not interchangable due to device specific drivers. trinity is very few interchangable in quite a lot of stuff (camera is only one example)
but you probably get the orange branding from your tytn ii rom out of the dump to place it into a trinity rom or install it afterwards with via cab?
anyways, if you have a ruu_signed i can dump and take a quick look at it

thanks for reply Nosedive,
if I understand your offer correctly,
are you suggesting that you could extract just the Orange stuff from a WM 6 rom and convert it into a cab for to install to my Trinity ?
if this is possible, I do have a rom :
RUU_HTC_TyTN_II_Kaiser_ORANGE_UK_3.28.61.0R_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_Ship.exe
and would be willing to upload it (I don't know how to just yet though)
my current rom is:
ver 1.23.61.5
date 02/08/07
radio 1.38.00.11
please take into account that I have a perfectly working WM 5 with Orange branding, and have no real justification in wanting the better WM 6 branding except for the same reasons that some folk give for climbing mountains !
as such I would not wish to expect you to go to a lot of trouble just to cater to my foibles.
thanks,
Kevin

Test
Hi guys,
Did someone test it? Any updates?
Thanks
Hi, tested WM6.5 ROM 23518 release date 2010/5/02..there is no newer since this date. Tested on Acer N311, it´s slower than WM6.1 Football Edition and also uses more memory...that influenced mainly using the PDA as GPS navigator (iGO8 navigation software had serious problem caused by insuficient memory space). I´m going to upgrade my PDA to 128MB RAM and then try again. =) have a nice weekend!
Trying to install WM 6.5 on my Acer n300
Hi Guys,
I know this thread is quite old, but hopefully someone will answer me.
I'm trying to upgrade my Acer n300 (WM 5.1.476 (Build 15704.3.5.0) to
WM 6.5.
I've downloaded potatoheads file (thanks), but am stumped as to what to do next.
I'm quite technical, but am a complete noob when it comes to flashing mobile devices.
Any help appreciated.
Rom version is 1.00.24
firmware version is 2.6
Bootloader version is 1.24
Thanks
John (aka Teleportist)
Update.
Managed to flash my N300 with the two files by putting them on my SD card and performing a hard reset.
Had some initial problems with the Wi-Fi card not displaying its MAC address, but that seemed to clear itself.
Also installed SPB Mobile Shell. All-in-all this has given my n300 a new lease of life.
Thanks for making these files available.
will try this tonight
Went through my old things and found my acer n311. Having bought it and used it for about 6 months, it then got put in a box and never seen again after getting a blackberry and a sat nav.
Going to try this ROM tonight and carry on searching for a good resource to let me know how I can get the most out of this device. Otherwise ill end up just puting it on eBay. Cheers
Hi, I know this thread is more dead than myself but, anyone has the build 28217? Or something near it?.
I have the only one I could find (aka the one is uploaded on mediafire on this thread) but I have a problem with the bluetooth and some stuff.
If anyone could just search on their hard drive for it, like searching n311 or something, would be helpful. Thanks
Hi, there, I just found out that acer n311 is the good old fashioned pda that has 64mb of ram. I seriously recommend you to stay away from wm6.5 altogether unless you have something like htc hd2(and even thete I did install wm6.1) and instead source out a good custom wm 6.1 rom which does everything that wm6.5 does, but faster, because 6.5 is just a bloated wm 6.1.
I had wm6.5 once on my hx4700 that I still use, the start menu alone makes the os use 10mb more ram than wm6.1, so yeah just get rid of it. Besides wm is the best when it tries to be wm not iPhone.
