To which rom should I update my Dutch TMobile MDA pro?

Hi!
I really feel like a newbie when i read all the posts about all the different rom versions, so can someone give me some advice which rom i should use to upgrade to?
I have a dutch TMobile MDA pro, which is still at the default rom:
ROM: 1.12.42 WWE (8/23/05)
Radio: 1.00.02
extRom: 1.12.125 WWE
I am experiencing problems with spontaneous hangs (which might have to do with 3rd party software, but the device itself isnt exactly stable)
but also the radio often just loses signal, which i can only fix by rebooting...
I want to upgrade, but i don't want to spend toooo much time on it. Is there a rom that offers better stability which is easy to install and configure?

Try updating to the latest I-Mate Jasjar ROM. Very stable and fast. I too use a lot of 3rd party applications and games. This is my 3rd day of not experiencing any problem without doing a soft reset in the morning.

I prefer Orange ROM... both imate and orange are the same version though... only that Orange's ROM is released while Imate is still not released

ady, what made you say the I-Mate ROM has not been released yet? It is true there is a test version which came 2 weeks earlier than the one I am using now which is NOT the test version. Just curious.
Another question please about the NEW Orange ROM. Is it true that the vibrate is always ON and you can't turn it OFF?

last week i gathered my courage, downloaded the JasJar rom, found the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe tool, pressed install, drank a cup of coffee, and was finished!
It went flawlessly! And my T-Mobile MDA Pro has never run smoother!
I couldnt (and wouldnt) have done it without this forum, so thanks guys!
Now its just waiting until there is a new stable rom with A2DP on it, and then i'll upgrade again!

I upgraded my mda pro to the latest t-mobile UK ROM straight out of the box. But even then I have the same problems with spontaneous hangs. And reading your success story I gathered all the files JASJAR_WWE_13076_164_10900_wwe_ship.exe and MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to upgrade to the JasJar rom myself. But as complete newbie who is affraid to mess things up, did you do anything else except unzipping the ROM update and copying the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to that folder ? The reason why I am asking I read somewhere that you have to add [CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1 to the RUU.conf file.

JASJAR rom works fine
My T-mobile mda pro NL arrived today and i almost immediately flashed it to Imate JASJAR firmware on the xda-developer ftp. I used the Universal_Upgrade_v1.30.68_radio_1.09.0.zip file which contains:
Rom 1.30.68 WWE
Radio 1.09.00
ExtROM 1.30.153
Protocol 42.42P8
and is dated at 08 february 2006.
This works fine and removes the ugly pink theme and adds some nice apps like skype after customizing. It also has an alternative contacts menu, which has skype integration. Pocket MSN (a not so nice app imho) is also included, although i use the new agile messenger beta.
The bootscreen mentions 'for testing only, not for sale' which might indicate that it is not a final (not sure though).

I'm using T-mobile UK version with 1.09 radio rom. This version INCLUDES the a2dp profiles, but no pushmail. You can use the blackberry connect software from german t-mobile site on the Universal. so you will have AND pushmail and A2DP.

I think Imate rom is also a nice ROM.

Reading this topic en reading the instructions about bootloader, I have another question. In the instruction ist says to make a factory reset after loading the new ROM. Does this mean that all information in your MDA is wiped out and must be reloaded?

Looking for WWE WM6.5 Naked Rom

I'm really looking for a WWE WM6.5 Naked Rom for the P3600 Trinity
Not interested in many apps or fancy menu's (I usually disable any menu pluggins such as QMenu etc.)

I use a company sim which doesn't allow data in anyway (no MMS / No 3G / No GSM) only through the USB / Wireless / Bluetooth.
The reason I ask is because the rom i'm using seems to have a memory leak, and needs daily rebooting.
I currently use the AthineOS on the TyTnII and quite like it.
I have tried many roms, and although they work reasonably well, I could do with something a little more "personalised"

Just loaded the rom.
Looks quite nice.
seems very stable without any glitches
I will report back, but at the moment it seems stable and fast - even when i install TomTom7

I downloaded the file but when I run it, after my phone reset, the software said "Could not connect to PDA" and stop upgrading.
Can someone help me?

After all step of checking ROM version, start updating only (0%), my PDA reset and error.
I don't know why.

i assume that you use an official rom or you have flashed official spl.

porting rom from Tytn to Trinity

hi,
I am quite a newbie, and have had a lot of fun and some success in burning roms thanks to all the guides on here.
Q: would it be possible to backup the Orange branded WM 6.1 rom on a TYTN II and use the backup to re-flash to an Orange WM 5 Trinity ?
despite all the boos and catcalls I may get - I actually like the Orange branding/sidebar etc.
(typed whilst holding a box over my head)
the reason I am considering this is to get the WM 6.1, and that the Orange in the Tytn version has a 'Go To ...'
on rh softkey that allows me to personalise the sidebar.
the current rom details are -

or is the real truth that I have finally lost my marbles ?
any honest answers welcomed. (even from psychiatrists)

actually no.
roms are not interchangable due to device specific drivers. trinity is very few interchangable in quite a lot of stuff (camera is only one example)
but you probably get the orange branding from your tytn ii rom out of the dump to place it into a trinity rom or install it afterwards with via cab?
anyways, if you have a ruu_signed i can dump and take a quick look at it

if I understand your offer correctly,
are you suggesting that you could extract just the Orange stuff from a WM 6 rom and convert it into a cab for to install to my Trinity ?
if this is possible, I do have a rom :

and would be willing to upload it (I don't know how to just yet though)

please take into account that I have a perfectly working WM 5 with Orange branding, and have no real justification in wanting the better WM 6 branding except for the same reasons that some folk give for climbing mountains !
as such I would not wish to expect you to go to a lot of trouble just to cater to my foibles.

Some help needed

Hi guys. New to the forum.
Here's the deal.
Got a HTC touch diamond (below spec.) last week. Got it second hand and it seem to me it works pritty slugish. I mean it takes like 1-2 seconds before the phone recognize I'm trying to slide on the quick links menu in the bottom. Also the free memory after a cleanRam secion is abt 20 MB. Also smtimes the phone would not respond and nothing would help but removing the battery.
Can you please sujjest what the reason might be is it a bad ROM? Does win 6.1 work better on the Diamond as it comes with it preinstalled? Looking for some advise before changing the ROM.

WM6.1 is not as quick as 6.5, but it should not be taking as long as you are describing to do anything
Chances are there is a piece of software installed making the phone sluggish, you can remove programs just like a PC in the phones settings, have a look down the list and see if there is anything there you dont want
If you choose to upgrade to WM6.5 I highly recommend "BsBG 6.5" from this link
I have tried 100's of ROMs and this is the only one where everything works flawlessly on it (Dont forget to Flash the unlocked Radio and Security unlock the phone before upgrading)

To be blunt thins is kind of Greek to me and I have tried to search the forum and haven't had much luck. Can someone please put it to me in plain English.
I would like to upgrade my AT&T Tilt to WM 6.5. I flashed the ROM with the HTC most current version. So I am familiar with that and I do have some IT experience behind me. But can someone tell me what I need or where I can get the file(s) to upgrade this thing to WM 6.5??? Please??

OK not to sound totally off the wall but I just flashed my tilt.
At the present in device information:
Rom Version 3.57.502.2 WWE
Rom Date: 07/17/08
Radio Version: 1.65.21.18
Protocol Version: 25.88.40.05H
So it appears that my rom is now updated. In browsing threads I see a lot of customizations.
It appears that I have to update my radio in order to upgrade this to WM 6.5.
Would any of you know a link with a basic WM 6.5 upgrade without too many deviations from the 6.1 interface?
I think that I found a thread that has this but am not certain.
Basically I am just looking for a link to upgrade this thing to a plain English USA WM 6.5 revision. Is it possible.
And I may up the ante to $20 .. not a lot but if you were me it would be like $1,000,000 USD.
