I remember with my TP i had to do it with a config program but havent seen one that offers that option for the TP2.
Anybody know of a cab or config program to do this?
Just in case it isnt clear I'm trying to get the youtube app to pop up as something I can add to my programs tab on TF3D or even would settle for putting it on the start menu.
Thanks in advance
It should be in multimedia. You can re-arrange the start menu from file explorer (root/windows/start menu) or with something like ReStart. I wasn't able to find anything by looking, but i've seen a couple posts about making a custom tab for sense.

I've been wondering for awhile now why out of all the programs for the dash why there isn't one out there for reordering the entire start menu. I know jeyo personalizer can reorder the first 7 but come on, they have everything else except for this that I'm aware of. Anyone know of a program that can do this? If not maybe someone on here would be up to the challenge. Just a thought i know I'm not capable of doing it but wanted to throw it out there.

reordering so that its not alphabetical? is that what you mean? Or just moving the wm standard stuff from the first page or 2, so that you can have your fave apps up front?
Easiest way is renaming the items in windows\start menu. The system ones that are listed first should be renamed so that they will move out of the way, and then rename the ones you want to be first so that they show up on first page. Here's a screenshot of my first page after the recent programs page. The screen shot shows a "!" infront of the names but a simple space will make them move to the front of the line instead of "!"
Thats a good idea thanks! Yeah i was basically trying to reorder the whole thing based on my most used programs on down. I use the list menu option.
Hi.
Just testing out the manila 2.1, and was wondering whether there was any way to disable the quicklinks?
Had a quick look around, but couldn't see anything, so hopefully someone knows
Cheers
What are these "quicklinks"? Are you referring to the locked items in the HTC Start Menu? (ie, Home, People, Contacts, Settings?) If so, you can find out how to delete them in the following sticky thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524655
No, I was talking about the Manilla 2.5, where on the home page, you have the option to add programs which can be run straight off the home page. It's kind of like on the programmes tab, how it has the little + button to add the programme, but it's directly on the home page...
Haven't found a way to disable it, but found a way to stop it from showing the + etc, which I guess will do for me...
To do it, extract the attached file to \Windows on the pda, and restart the phone. This will make them available (so click in the rough area if you wanted to add a programme), but won't show anything there if you've not added a programme to it...

Apologies if this is addressed already somewhere. I searched for "rearrange" and did not see something which looked like what I'm asking.
I would like a tool (or failing that, just the registry or file magic) to rearrange Start menu (all Programs list) items in WM65. I'm running a Dutty Holy Grail ROM on my Topaz, withOUT HTC Sense.
The only rearranging option I see is "Move to Top" and "Move Down" when right-clicking on items in the Start menu, and that's sort of like a Rubik's cube - possible to get right, but waaaay too much work :-}
Thanks for your suggestions,
Jay
Since build like month or month a half back you should be able to "right click" and move it just where you want.
This is what you're looking for!
Not a sorter, a way to manually set icons/programs in whatever order *I* want
the "Start Menu Sorter" app is not at all what I'm looking for. It only does a sort (alphabetic?) of its own design.
What I'm looking for - sorry if I wasn't clear before - is something to allow me to rearrange the icons in the Start / Programs folder in any way that I want to. Ideally this would be a drag-and-drop interface, but frankly a Registry key or System file which identifies the order in which all of the registered programs appears would be okay, as it isn't the sort of thing I expect to edit often.
Any other ideas please?
Thanks.
Try this one http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=68864. This gives you full access, havent tried it myself, but going to today (if I can find the time). Looks like it may still be in Beta, but better than what we currently have!
This might also help.
reSTART seems to do the trick!
The reSTART applet does seem to do the trick, thanks.
The JSPA applet I had already tried - it actually does not seem to have any way to move menu items around, though when I read the web pages about it I also got the impression that it was supposed to do so.
Hi all,
Question actually 2:
1) I checked but didnt find what I was looking for dont know if it even exists. Is there a standalone program out there that you can install and access from the programs menu so that if for any reason when manila crashes (which happens often) that you can hit start and then tap the icon to re-start manila? Cause many of times Manila will crash or hang and other then powering it off or taking the battery out, you cant restart it.
2) As for the today screen, I dont know thats why I am asking, I was toying with some of the editors posted around for the png and gui, and noticed you can compress alot of the images that appear. My question is, will it make a big impact to how the screen looks meaning jagged edges, ugly etc?, The reason I ask is cause since the today screen has alot going on, and being that manila is sluggish as it is, I was wondering is compressing the images or files, would speed up the loading process and speed up some of the loading from screen to screen.
1. You can use cleanram for this. It will clean you're memory and restart manila. Make sure you don't have manila on you're exception list.
Ive used this before. just saw there was an update thru the program (props for that feature). Just thought there was maybe a simple program that just restarted it. but thanx for the input!
anyone with any ideas for Q2?
Been using the MAX MANILLA rom for about 4 days now. the only issue I've been having is just GUI stuff and txt'n software prob.
EX:
1) the Digital clock will sometimes freeze (no biggy)
2) If I was to send a text on my device to somebody, it wont show up on the screen, I would have to change screens and then go back to my text messages to see it.
3) sometimes the device will show you have a txt when you've already read it.
Same goes for.......if i was to stay in the text messaging program and somebody sends me a text message, I'd have to move to another screen and then come back to the text screen to see it.
Anybody else having this issue?
Update here you guys. I dont know if its the reboot that fixed the txt messaging error or installing the ATT tilt2 keyboard fix.
But now my text messages are working properly. it shows up on the screen as i send it.
Thats great youngWMuser glad you fixed your problem, but it has nothing to do with the topic of the post. If you have issues create a seperate post to solve your issues, Thanx.
lol. sorry. I'm using Manilla and the thread said "today screen and manila itself" haha. That's why i posted on here. And the text problem still is occuring.
Rather than installing a program to take up more space, you could go to Start>Settings>Today, click on the Items tab. De-select Manila (in my case, it's TouchFlo 3D) and hit okay. It will take you back to the Settings page, select Today again and go back to the Items page and re-select Manila. When installing a new TochFlo 3D theme, I do that rather than doing a soft reset. It seems a little quicker to me.
Take a look at this. The "Things you should know" and "History" sections might help.
Just out of curiosity, what versions are your ROM and Manila
JCTerry,
Your right, but in the the 2.5 manila the setting page to get to all settings, still access a manila tab, which is of no use, but you did make me think of another way. Does anyone know what the CPL is to access the all settings page, I could just create a shortcut in the programs menu.
But I am still curious about the compressing of the files for the today screen, has anyone ever tried it?

Since you didn't say which ROM you were using, I'm going to assume you're on the stock one with TF3D. Go here to turn it off: Start > Settings > System > G-Sensor.

im using the stock sprint rom with the 6.5 upgrade. Ive disabled touchflow and use spb mobile shell. Ive gone into start settings system g sensor but there is only a option to calibrate the g sensor nowhere do i see any other options for anything. I dont think there are any differences wether i access the setting through touch flo. Maybe your rom adds that setting. Thanks for the reply and trying to help.
Delete the apps of your choice (in this case Opera) from the White List in the registry to prevent G-Sensor rotation. White List location is:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
If registry edits scare you, you can install the G-Config app. This simple program just edits the registry through a user-friendly UI.

Open G-Config, you should see Opera on the list of Rotated Apps. Select and hold on Opera until the option to "Remove" pops up. Select "Remove" than exit G-Config, and soft reset the phone to make the change take effect.

Hi thanks for the response. i use opera mini and its not on the list. I added it and then tried to remove it but that did not work. I guess its only good for disabling g sensor for the programs that it comes with - I was succesful at disabling rotation with the opera on the list that comes with the stock rom. Any other suggestions? Ive never edited a registry but am williing to try if you can tell me how. thanks.
