My voicemail Number - HTC Excalibur

My Voicemail number is wrong...I am using Ooks awesome 3Volution 6.5 ROM, but I can't seem to locate the setting. Any guesses as to where this is found?

There's always the option of calling your service provider for it and then save it in your phone.

Thanks
Thanks Gmaniac. I know my voicemail number...I just can't find where this setting is on the setting or on the rom or in the phone book, etc.

Isn't that on your sim card stored...what carrier do you have?. In my country bruv...that # comes prestored in your sim card...

I dont know where it is stored, but to change it do the following:
1) Go TO settings
2) Go TO Phone
3) Go TO Call Forwarding
For each category there, click it and tell it what you want it to do, and put in the number...that should do it

Than\ks but...
More specifically here's my problem... when I flip to voicemail on the home screen it dials a number that I can't seem to delete. I have edited all the settings \under settings->phone->etc, but I can't seem to find the setting for this number. Any ideas?

Calls to this number are bard

Hello forum
I’m having issues retrieving voice mail by pressing the relevant button 1.
Each time press 1 for voice mail I get a warning tone saying “Calls to this number are bard” the only way to retrieve voicemail is to dial 222 via the service provider’s options.
I’ve been in contact with my network provider and have had the voice mail set up but I still can’t access voice mail. Can some one help please?
Hi, I really dont know much about your network, but in order for dialing "1" to access my voicemail to work, I had to enter my voicemail number under 1 in speed dial.
Im not sure if you have already done that, or if youre running an oem rom, you may not have to, is it dialing the correct number, when you press "1"?
Also under "settings" / "phone" / "services" tab, you can select to retrieve voicemail, and txt settings....not sure of that may help either.
Sorry if you have already covered this, I just know its easy to overlook things at times, and thought I might suggest it, hope you get your problem sorted.
call to this number are bard.
Thanks for the advice; I’ve actually tried that method the first time I was in contact with service provider T-mobile and it didn’t work. T -mobile push the problem to HTC as the manufacture of the unit. I was in contact with HTC, but the very nice and helpful tech support lady concluded its t-mobile problem. Currently stuck in between.
I'm experiencing the same thing. You can run the programe called "Interactive". Select voice service then call voicemail. A message will ask you if you want to call voicemail, tap yes and it calls. It's an around the house way of doing it, but i know of no other solution right now.
BTW i have a vario III on t-mobile.
Ok i think i've worked it out I was having the same problem.
As from the previous post....when in phone select/ "Menu"/ "Options" in "settings" you'll see a "services" tab, select that then you can select to retrieve voicemail, and txt settings.
Check the voicemail number...I notice that the phone or t-mobile added 050 to the number. If you have something similar you need to remove it. You voicemail number should be you number with +44 at the start, with the first "0" removed and the rest of your number. Eg if your number was:
07951123456
its should read +447951123456
I did this and it works fine.If it works for you maybe you could pass the information onto on to T-mobile.
Hope that helps.

Where did you get the device?? What ROM is it running? pretty sure the 050 might have been added by the ROM or national on the OS. The network should report the full international number (ie the +44xxxxxxxxxxx number).
he is right

I bought it off Ebay. It's running wm6.1, i'm sure it said in the description that it was a HTC Rom, could be wrong ( HTC website is the default site in IE )...but the inital problem is easily sortable.
ps. +44 is the code for the uk, other countries would have different codes, so remember to take that into consideration.

A thanks guy the directions has resolved the issue and I can now dial number one on hemers to retrieve voice mail. As you quite rightly said three digits added in the set of numbers for the voice mail (060) This is what I did START =>SETTINGS=>PHONE=>SERVICES=> high light VOICE MAIL AND TEXT MESSAGE=> click GET SETTINGS=> check the voice mail numbers for any unusual among the set of voice mail numbers.

Youmail voicemail system

Hey y'all so I really recommend checking out youmail, it's a voicemail client for your phone. And once you've checked it out, tell me if you're having the same problem i am. When I go to start > settings > phone > call options: and then try to change the voicemail default number (the number that my phone calls when I press and hold "1") I keep getting an error message saying that the settings could not be saved. However, on tmobile's end, they see the change, but still my phone just calls the regular voicemail number when I press and hold "1"... thoughts? Is there a registry hack somewhere just to make my phone call the correct number when I hold 1?
Thanks!

I wonder if you have to have your device "unlocked". I have changed my voicemail number to my main answering services vm and it works fine.
hmm
Well, I'm fairly certain that my phone is unlocked because I've modded it ALOT. Unless you mean SIM unlocked, in which case I don't think that it is.

I just signed up for YouMail a couple of days ago. Lovin' it. What I did was change my Speed Dial #5 to the YouMail voicemail number. My Speed Dial #1 is still for T-Mobile voicemail. After doing this, my calls get routed to my new YouMail number and not the T-Mo number anymore. It works pretty well for me. When I check the voicemails on the old T-Mo number, it only plays the old messages left before switching to YouMail.
Try using another Speed Dial number besides the #1. I think that one isn't changeable.
what does youmail offer that tmo voice mail doesnt?

YouMail allows you to set custom voicemails for multiple callers. It also allows you to use "Ditch Mail" for telemarketers, blocked callers, and unknown callers. Ditch Mail gives the caller a generic message stating that you aren't receiving calls from blocked or unknown callers and to try again from an unblocked number. Then (here's the clincher) it hangs up. You can also view and listen to voicemails via email. It's great.
Ive had it for a week, and love it! My friends get the silly VM messages... all else get the SMART VM where it states the name of the caller and says Im not available...
great stuff
not a bad solution but...
while changing my shortcut number five to the youmail number will be a nice shortcut to it, does that mean that if i use youmail, i'll neve get a "new voicemail" notification again? it's gonna use up a lot of texts if every vmail i get has to be announced via text message.
you can set it to only send you emails... I have a 300 txt msg plan... and didnt want to eat them up with youmail messages. SO, I set it accordingly.
hmm..
I totally understand that it is possible to do that, and if it comes down to it, I'm fine with that, however, I'd love it if youmail was more fully integrated with my phone. Ergo, if I could change the number for the voicemail system (which youmail says that you can) and receive vmail notifications, it'd be perfect. Does no one in this quite impressive community know where the registry edit would be to change that number? Thanks for all the help!
patiently awaits a response to the previous question.
Youmail offers the chance to have custom voicemail messages to specific callers...one for your love, one for your mom, one for your boss, etc... it will also transcribe voicemail messages and either txt them or email them to you! lots of other finer points... but thats a good overview

Is your service prepaid? If so, prepaid T-Mobile voicemail #s cannot be changed.
contracted
Nope,
I have a monthly plan, and even when I called the guys at tmo about this issue, they said that they can see my trying to change the number, and that it should be changing on my phone. I just need to find out where in the registry that phone finds that vmail number, and to change it. Thoughts?
Wow lol
I can't believe noone responded to you, bro. It's pretty easy. Do the following:
1) Settings
2) Phone
3) Call options
In there you will see Voice mail number, change it to youmail's #.
On the other hand, this service looks pretty promising. Thanks to you guys, I now know about it. I really hope it works in Canada too.
Will try right now
EDIT: Great, It doesn't work in Canada That sucks...Oh Well...One day I guess.
where?
sounds very impressive could someone provide a download link to this app?
The multiple voicemail responses and the voice to text of Youmail sound interesting and I will check it out after this post. Youmail looks better, just wish it had mobile call screening.
I use Callwave free version because it has mobile call screening which allows me to actually listen to the person leave a message in realtime and answer it or ignore it with one button.

Dash and GoogleVoice

I've been messing around with my GV number and i've been looking for a way to make it so that all unanswered calls on my phone go to the GV voicemail.
I've tired using unconditional forwarding.. like i believe its *61*GVnumber# i could be wrong though..
Has anyone else got this to work?
I think it will work as long as you do not have your mobile number set up as part of the GV ring list. You will end up with a loop.
Can anyone ever get the call forwarding options in the settings to save?
I've never got it to say anything but an error.
Just change your t-mobile voicemail number to your google voice number on your Dash
after looking in to it i noticed something i overlooked. If you on a flexpay account like i am then tmobile has forwarding disabled. i guess if i want that feature to work ill have to get a contract, unless i wait till project dark is announced

Hey guys, I was reading this article earlier about Google Voice...it made me wish I had it. Check it out:
http://lifehacker.com/5382770/make-unlimited-free-calls-on-your-cellphone-with-google-voice?skyline=true&s=i
I also read that they're now letting members invite people.
This might be a [email protected] question but, if you like the article what are the chances one of you might invite me? Hahaha, sorry if it is but I just had to ask!
I have a google voice account. It doesn't seem that the invite feature is available (to me atleast). Realize that unlike with G-Mail, inviting is tougher with Google Voice because Google could always pay forward and expand their ever-so-gigantic server space, but there are a limited number of available phone numbers. Due to that exact fact, I feel like Google Voice may NEVER become fully accessible to everyone unless we adopt an 11 Digit or more phone number. That is just my opinion, as horrible as it may see, although I really do HOPE that everyone gets to use Google Voice. So far from my experience it is awesome!
Thanks for the info Cyclone. You're right, it probably won't be available for everyone. But according to the Google Voice Blog referenced below you and every other account holder will get three invites...eventually. Just to begin with.
http://googlevoiceblog.blogspot.com/2009/10/invite-friend-to-google-voice.html
Thanks again

On your blog, you mention that following GV's instructions (for T-Mobile Dash) will make your GV number the number called when you press and hold "1", i.e. your GV number becomes your VM number. I did *not* find that to be the case. Does anyone else have the same experience?

You are getting it wrong. That link works, I can attest to that because I did it myself. When you call VoiceMail on your phone (by holding 1) it is preset to call the TMOBILE voicemail, which will have nothing in it. What the set-up does is change the configuration to forward missed calls etc. to the google number. If you want to access that Voicemail, you have to set the Keypress (or whatever) to call your google voice number.
does anyone know if this can work with a Flex-Pay Account with Tmobile?....I find there's an error when imputting the code to change voicemail settings setup.

As I stated in my blog "if you change your service providers voicemail number in your device settings to your Google Voice number it will automatically call your Google Voice number when you press and hold the 1 key (T-mobile)."
This means after you have set everything else up (by entering the code given to you by Google in Google Voice) YOU have to manually change the voicemail number in your Devices settings to your google voice number, in the Dash 3G it is under call options.

How to setup the voicemail with AT&T?

my VM does not function when someone calls my number. When called the systems askes for the 9 diget number to ID the box. When entered the system tells me it can not find the VM box.
I'm using Non-ATT stock ROM. It was working with ATT original ROM.
Anybody has the same problem? or know how to fix it?
I had this and called AT&T and they fixed it.... I went from Iphone to the tilt 2 and I think they still had it as Visual voicemail and they needed to reset it.
Go into phone options, then click around until you see TTY, voicemail and tex, call forwarding, etc. Highlight voicemail and text and click get, etc.
It will connect to ATT and pop up the numbers. You then enter in the correct number.
To get the correc #, you need to call ATT or check a few peoples phone that is in your city, and with ATT and see what they have.
^ good call tatung70, thanks.

Cannot change call forwarding settings or voicemail on Simple Mobile?

I am trying to use an alternate voicemail service other than My Simple Mobile default voicemail so that i dont have to call and put in pin to check voicemail and all those unnecessary steps.
If I go to the keypad/menu/call settings/call forwarding/voice call, there are 3 numbers I want to change which are: "forward when busy", "forward when unanswered", and "forward when unreachable".
The funny thing is that I used to be able to change this a few months back(still had simple mobile), but now when I do it, it says unexpected error from network, and goes back to default.
If I go back a couple of menus where it says voicemail, I want to change that number too so I can call a different service, ie: youmail, to check voicemail, but it wont let me change that either?
I tried youmail and it gets mmi error when trying to configure automatically. I tried manually doing it as stated above. I called simple mobile but they have no idea what im taking about lol. Meanwhile, a couple of months ago when I tried using google voice for voicemail it worked and I had to call simplemobile to reset it and they knew what to do.....weird. Now google voice cant do it either.
Any help guys?

Does Simple Mobile have access to wifi calling? If so, that needs to be off and you need a usable (data?) connection.
If you still can't change it, make a nandroid, and flash an AOSP ROM and do it there. The forwarding settings are stored on the provider's end, so they will not change when you change ROMs. If you are on TW, I think there are also service mode codes to do this. But I don't know what they are, because I was using AOSP at the time.
