Any chance for windows7 drivers for android? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

Are there plans for releasing drivers for android on tyn 2?

Windows 7 drivers? All you gotta do to hook it up is plug you Kaiser to your PC and activate the USB when you see it appear on the Android. Just pull down the menu from the top of the screen and you'll the option to share files.

Flashing from Internal Storage through mtty... Diamond won't boot anymore

Hi all!
Yesterday, I want to flash another ROM to my diamond, and downloaded the nbh file into the Internal Storage... (but I've forgot to rename the file from "ruu_signed.nbh" to "diamimg.nbh")
After, I've formatted the device with mtty application (same procedure as in the relative thread), but when I start the phone for flashing, it can't find any image (obviously)... But it can't boot so!
Now I have to sent it to the repair center?
Or there is a solution for flashing an image in my phone? (for example, there isn't a way to connect the phone to the PC in "storage mode"; or a command through mtty for renaming files)
P.S.: my diamond, when in bootloader mode, won't connect with ActiveSync, I can communicate with it only with mtty software
Connect the phone, start the Bootloader (volume down). If you can read "USB" you will be able to flash a new ROM, try the orginal stock ROM from HTC first.

Thanks for the reply!
I can read "USB" (it's "Serial, when i connect the USB cable to diamond & PC, it changes to USB), but I can't start the RUU utility...
why you can't start the RUU utility??

It's because the phone don't connect with ActiveSync (I mean)... The RUU don't recognize the phone!
I've tried with three different usb cables, with a different usb port, with reinstalling ActiveSync, with another two PCs (the first with Win Xp & ActiveSync, the other one with Win 7 & the Mobile Devices Center) none of this can't see the phone connected... I repeat the only thing can I use on the phone is the BootLoader, and there isn't no way to connect it to a PC for execute the RUU...
At now, I'm looking at the mtty commands' list, maybe there's one that can operate on the files in the Internal Storage...

The phone is ready for usb connection, but ActivSync (AS) must recognize it by this way
- Open AS > File > Connection Settings
- Leave all default then press Conect (button)
- Let AS detect all connections. When it does finish (you can see the message ... USB is available...), DON'T close the window
- Run RUU, now it should see your device !!!
You don't and shouldn't need ActiveSync or WMDC to run mtty. You need the updated drivers for your phone.

Many thanks for this answer!
I see "USB is available",I leave open that window, and I run the RUU...
In first moment, it find the phone, and show me the window for updating (showing the old rom, and the new one) but when i click update it stops at 0%, telling me that can't communicate with the phone...

Again, you don't need ActiveSync/WMDC to run a custom RUU. Make sure you have the updated drivers for the device (try uninstall/reinstall in the host PC>>Device Manager). Are you sure you're running a "Developer" version of HSPL?
About ActiveSync: ActiveSync (server) needs the activesync client (on your phone) to run for the purpses of 'sync'ing contacts, mail acocunts etc. It will not affect RUU in anyway. If you further clarity on this, I'll make a larger post on the technical blah blah someplace...but someone from xda might have done that already.

Ok, now I understand... Thanks!
The driver my PC is using is "HTC USB Sync", it's correct? I've tried many times to uninstall, and re-install from Device Manager, but no changes...
The SPL is 1.93 from OliNex!
I think there is an incompatible driver in your Windows PC.
1) open bootloader your phone then plug in usb cable
2) If you are using Windows 7, open control panel
Go to Device Manager.
Find device called HTC Sync or QUACOMM something delete it (including driver)
3) Unplug the USB Cable and plug in again.
4) Windows 7 will start to find an appropriate driver for your device (check device manager)
5) Unplug the USB Cable and plug in again to use the new driver
6) Run RUU to upgrade the ROM
If you are not using Windows 7, you can do the same but you have to install driver manually because only Win 7 can search and update driver automatically. Drivers can be found on HTC CDs, XDA-developers site, or well somewhere else.
If you can still access Boot loader, there is no need to panic. Somehow, if you still cannot do this, just borrow somebody else computer then plug in and try to upgrade.

Cool, Satus has given the exact things you can do...also make sure your HSPL is unsigned to allow unsigned roms to be flashed. I use the Win7 default drivers for my device (that it downloads) and it works perfectly IMO.

Windows 7 - Installing ADB

Ok, I've just upgraded to windows 7. I was pretty psyched about the whole thing, and my computer seems like a whole new machine, coming from XP 32 bit.
So one thing I'm attempting to get adb to work with my phone. Heres my first problem - right off the bat, my computer doesnt recognize my phone as anything but an unknown device. YES I'VE TRIED DEBUGGING, DISK DRIVE, ETC., but nothing works.
I go to device manager, all I see is unknown device. Ok fine. I download the adb files that allow you to download the Android 2.1 thing and usb drivers. Still nothing works. I go to device manager, try to update the drivers for said "unkown device" and i get a message "the drivers are the newest up to date" or something. I try downloading the 64-bit HTC Hero drivers, same thing. I download and install HTC Sync, same thing.
I get this message when I plug the phone in...
"USB Device not recognized
One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message"
So my question is, how do i get my computer to recognize my phone, even as storage device??

try uninstalling htc sync and using a different usb port. does that work?
And to address how to get it to recognize as a drive, when you plug it in you should be presented with options where you can make it a disk drive. Or pull down your notification bar and change the type.

On the phone yes, I can select a different type. On my computer, I just get that unknown device message.
And out of the blue I just tried a different USB port, and now it works as a storage device.
Did you restart the computer after installing the drivers? Sometimes mine gets a little goofy like that.

i had that issue with one of my usb ports too. i think sometimes a bank of usb ports are used as basically a usb hub, and the evo doesn't like that, from what i understand.
Reboot comp, reboot EVO. Connect 'em, and then go into Device Manager, uninstall the "unknown device" (EVO), and then have it scan for new devices. Now, when it says scanning for drivers (or something to that effect) look for an advanced or "skip checking Windows Update for drivers" option. Then navigate to the ADB drivers in the Android SDK and tell it to use those. Make sure you have USB Debugging turned on, and EVO's set for "Charging Only".
If that still doesn't work, then there's an incompatibility with your computer's USB controller and Win7.

If your computer is old enough, incompatibility is a possibility. See if there's other ports you can use, like on a different side of the case. Also, what brand computer?

stop! lol its fine. it works. i guess i should have stated that i've been on these forums for quite a while, and have flashed and rooted a few different phones using this computer, but with xp.
i just switched to windows 7, and of course lost all my drivers, and everything I had saved would have to be switched to 64-bit. I just couldnt get anything to work, but it seems to work now.
and I dont know what brand necessarily this computer is. i built it. I do have a dell keyboard though.

[Q] Epic won't root or show in 'My Computer'

Hi.
Have Boostmobile Epic that came unrooted.
Downloaded drivers and phone shows in device manager under com ports.
Tried 11 USB cables then saw a video from qbking and bought a blackberry to use its cable making it 12 cables, none work.
Tried 2 computers with Vista and Win 7 x64.
Epic won't communicate with either comp with debugging on or off.
As i said in topic, one click root won't work. Says Phone is not connected.
I also cannot sideload content onto SD card because it does not show in My Computer.
It has been flashed to boost so i assume it has communicated with a PC in the past.
What can i do to fix this?
Reboot pc and phone then try again. If that doesn't work then uninstall drivers from pc then install again. Reboot pc after install after reboot plug in epic then wait for it to finish installing drivers then reboot both again then use odin.
You can also connect the phone with usb debugging on, then go into device manager on the computer and look for "other" or samsung android in USB section. Click on that and select update drivers and let windows update search and install drivers...it takes awhile.
just did the uninstall drivers then reboot both thing.
Driver installation shows device ready to use as...
SAMSUNG USB Composite Device
SAMSUNG Mobile Modem #2
SAMSUNG Mobile Modem Diagnostic Serial Port (WDM) (COM5)
All ready to use.
But Still not showing in my computer for file transfer or working in usb debugging mode for root.

Hi, thanks for help.
Just tried uninstalling everything and letting windows find drivers. Windows found a different driver package from S3 studio or something but I still get no mass storage or root.
I've read you can root and install roms without a computer Guess that will have to be my route.
As far as mass storage goes... It's annoying but I pulled the back off and put SD card directly into computer
You are sliding down the pulldown on your epic screen and pushing mount sd card for mass storage right?

Some computers are finicky and will only work on the USB port used to install the drivers. Odin only works on the left side of my laptop and mass storage works on the right...go figure!
The fact that the phone thinks it connects and the computer probably makes the connection noise shows there is still a driver problem. Did you reboot the computer and phone after the full driver installation?
Yes I restarted both several times while installing/uninstalling
Drivers... I have just accepted that I need to remove the card to sideload content.
On a side note, I am now afraid to root my phone and change the roms because I'm on boostmobile and will be unable to connect phone to a computer to fix if something goes wrong.

after you install drivers, reboot, then plug in your phone w debugging on, it should install a bunch of drivers, then take forever on modem, unplug and replug the usb from the phone really fast, this should trip it up into moving to the next device... there should be at least two or three more. If you have GB loaded for some reason the RNDIS drivers are wonky. Make sure you use a USB port on your motherboard, not on a PCI, not on a front port... the drivers are acting weird lately, like they changed em up a bit... idunno... but once you get a setup, dont mess with it! Hope somethin helps... Its almost guaranteed the drivers, unless the Boost is the issue, idunno...
ive had that same problem ever sense ive got the phone, what if you havent given up there is another way for you to connect to your computer. It is very simple and fast it is how i connect now and it works every time.
1. Have computer on and Phone off
2. Boot your phone into ClockworkMod 3.1.0.1 (Power/camera/volume down)(it must be this version of clockwork)
3. Go to mounts and storage
4. On the bottom of the menu you must click mount usb storage.
5. Plug your phone into the computer and your computer should recognize your phone now.
Also if your on Vista / Win7 you should run the command line (cmd) or the bat file to root with admin rights: Right click cmd or the run.bat and select run as administrator and that hould help.

LG On-Screen Phone

I'm looking to try this software, but I've been unable to find it online. Our phone tells us where to locate it, but I don't seem to be able to find it.
Settings>PC Connection>Help (located at bottom of page).
Has anyone actually located it, and if so, would you please provide a link?
When I connect via bluetooth to my laptop a dialer automatically comes up. Maybe that's what this setting is for.
Current Devices:

HP Touchpad (Tenderloin)
Previous Devices:
Samsung Galaxy SII (SGH-i777)

I've installed "PC software" from LG's website, but I have not seen the actual "On-Screen Phone" software. I don't believe it downloaded along with the typical drivers. All it appeared to be is a USB driver, nothing else.
I cannot "remotely control my phone through PC via USB or Wi-Fi connection", as On-Screen Phone is supposed to allow me to do.
Can you control your phone via your PC, with the software that you installed from the message you received?

Done all that. It says it is installing PC programs. Then the phone gives me the message that PC Programs are started. I get a popup on the PC giving me 4 options under "Portable Device" (Sansa Media Converter, open device to view files using IE, Sync digital media files to this device, & Take no action). None of these seems to be the proper one. On my PC, which is set to DL new files directly to the desktop, I see nothing new. Where on your PC did the file get stored?
I wonder if it is an autoplay issue. Having a senior moment right now and can't remember where the autoplay settings are. I'm looking in Control panel (Win XP SP3) but nothing coming to mind..

As regards the attaching of files, you have to have a minimum number of posts to be able to do that.
As regards the USB, be a little more specific like what you are trying to do, which ROM you are running, whether you are rooted, what happens when you connect the phone to PC etc which will enable the members to help you.
There could be several reasons for this, but lets start with the basics.
Have you tried a different cable?
Have you selected File Transfer (MTP) from usb options?

I get a windows sound like its connecting then in the bottom right where the time is next to that is a root sign then I get a pop up saying exactly.....The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. Recommendation.. Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly. When I go to the Device Manager/Control Panel it doesnt do anything. I've tried to add adb to the path but maybe added it to wrong path now it won't come on. If there is a work around maybe to re-add to right path. Device Manager was fine before I added adb and added path as per internet search. Device Manager before would say something like error 39. I've tried MTP that doesn't get it to open up either.

I cant even root for the life of me now, Im on 8.0, I'm trying to just root the phone and to start the computer has to recognize it I understand but it won't, with my Oneplus 2 was fine,(I'm thinking maybe phone doesnt have the drivers built in to the file system, you know when you plug in and turn on MTP it shows the drivers app for Windows?) the only thing it errors plugging in.

On my son's pc running windows 10, I didn't have any issues connecting my OP3 to it and viewing files, nor did I have to install any drivers, same for Windows 7.
Hook phone to pc via usb cable.
Pull down notification bar and select "File Transfer" from usb options or go to Settings and search USB and select USB Preferences > File Transfer.
Browse phone from Window's file manager.
If still having issues, you can try and install Oneplus USB drivers, reboot pc and see if the phone can be recognized.

For some reason it's working now don't know what the problem was or even if it was something I did. Either way it's fixed.

If you are running Win 10, you will have to disable driver signing before the correct drivers are installed. May be that was your issue.
