I have bought a pair of faulty backpacks on ebay for my XDA IIi.
One of them is totally shot, the other kind of works but there is a bad connection on the connector that attaches to the XDA.
Does anyone have info on the pinout of this connector please?
I checked the XDA II service manual to no avail.
Hi Mr Fusion
I'm afraid not an answer but a sharing of problems - I have lost my backpack lead and can't get another. Did you find the pinout? Any ideas where I might get the connector?
Cheers
Jon
I was just looking for the pinout when I saw this post! amazing coincidence.
Anyway, I was wondering about making my own Wifi backpack, or possibly squeezing an sdio wifi card inside the case on this connector.
But, I need the pinout before I can even hope to try.
To the guy with the dead backpack, how much did you pay? want to sell it cheap to me to experiment with?
Any of you who wants the complete kit plus 1Gb compact flash pm me.
Victor
Hi guys,
I´d like to inform you about some new products that will be available soon from Qtek for the HTC Universal:
HTC098332- Stereo Headset silver
HTC098333- Leather Case Black
HTC098335- Battery 1625mAh Li-Ion
HTC098336- Extended Battery (???mAh)
HTC098337- Battery Charger for std. Battery
HTC098339- Stylus 3-in-1

The headset, leather case, Battery and Stylus are not new, it is the same as you got delivered with your Universal; the others are really new.
...Just can´t await the USB Cradle for my Uni... maybe I get a sample today
regards
Then you'd better post some pictures!

I hate to say it, but that cradle is horrible... it looks like it forces you into landscape mode and you lose the keyboard. I like this one from expansys much better...

Brett
You´re right, but I think it is a cradle (passive/active holder), not a dockingstation similar to one for a notebook.
The station from expansys is useful for everyone who uses his Universal for a longer time on one place and don´t wants to lose some Li-Ion capacity.
At least I´m prefering original accessories

where are these products eventually going to show up?
I'm assuming your contact has the inside line on them and will know this?
I am looking for an external GSM antenna with cable and connector for my jasjar. Any ideas??
Regards
@numanoids: We can not really say when these products will be available; the blisters are still in the developement.
As far as we get them from Qtek for packing them I´ll post a message here.
On www.qtek.nu you may see some accesories, but these new products are not there yet; it depends on their admins how long it whiles until they show them on their site.
regards
Finally!!! A battery charger!!!!
Any news on the availability or pics yet??
What the heck is the use of that stupid cradle on the expansys link posted above? The jasjar can do everything the same without the cradle too!!! Why would someone purchase it and for what?!?!?!

because of my setup (computer under the table) the cable keeps on falling behind the desk when it is not connected to the Universal so something like a cradle to keep the cable in place why i would need some. I know it isn't the only solution, but it definitely is a pretty one
Meh. Still not worth it.
UD.
Sorry guys, no pics available yet; you may find a new reply when I got them..

i've got the cradle.
its plastik with no features, but its a cradle
it does what is says. plug it in and it works, looks crapy but protects your cam.
no complaints
HTC098337- Battery Charger for std. Battery
I hope this is not the cradle?? Should be an independent battery charger?
PICTURES
Hi Guys,
here are the pictures of the extended battery.. unfortunately the qtek people made it in qtek9000 colour - its black... :?
The item code is PU16B; that thing has 3800(!!!)mAh...
Hope for ya´ll that it will while not that long until that item is available )
@airbag 14: That charger is an single charger without any further functionality; I´ve already seen that item, but has no possibility to make pics of it...

Hi there - I'm new to the forum.
I own an Orange SPV M1500 which I think is what you'd term a Himalaya here.
My partner bought me a great new car kit which has the typical thin xda connector port in it, but now the phone is behaving badly. The screen is wonky in several places and is not responding to taps.
My dilemma is this - Orange do not provide these phones any more and they don't provide phones with the same port connector on the bottom either.
So I either have to get rid of the cradle or somehow get another phone with this type of connector.
Does anyone know the current list of phones with this kind of connector? Or where I might be able to get hold of a replacement?
Thanks in advance.
I'm not too sure, but with most car kits you can buy replacement cradles, which i believe are relatively cheap compared to replacing the whole of the car kit, what car kit is it? perhaps a quick google search along the lines of replacement cradles might turn up something
Hi
I was wondering if the connector located under (not behind) the battery works for upgrading Pocket pc (PDA2) like the usual one, because it has broken tracks.
Also if anyone knows where to get that alternative connector, or at least what's the known name of it.
cant renember what htc model pda2 is
but if it's himalaya it's the backpack connector and i doubt it can be used to sync
also it could be an external antenna connector in which case it also cant be used to sync with
clikc XDA-wiki and find your device it could be that it have a hardware description where you can find info about the connector
I've googled for the Himalaya CF backpack, but drawn a blank... Are there any peripherals actually available that use it?
...or any more tech info on its pins so that we could develop our own?
Been searching a while for a wireless charging kit for extended batteries but havn't had any succes yet..
I've only found a kit on ebay but its made in hong kong and i dont realy have alot of trust in it and got no clue if it would fit with my battery and if its decent quality, also the fact that this backside doesnt fit with the yesoo case that i have atm is holding me back to actually try it..
So would realy like to know if there are other options or more realiable sellers of this item. Or is there any way to modify this patch http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/...ductive-wireless-charging-receiver-patch-for- so that it would fit for extended batteries?

Already tried to search for a thread like that but found nothing
I searched using the term: wireless mod
it's under the title Hyperion/Zerolemon wireless charging mod
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167926&highlight=wireless+mod
maybe contact the guy for specific instructions.
I ask this question in the Official Extended battery thread and it was answered
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39341408&postcount=495
Hopefully that clears it up for you
EDIT: I thought I read the official extended battery sorry.
Anyway all you have to do is connect the contact points from the wireless patch to the phone, it shouldn't create too much added bulk.
