hey there,
do anybody know a solution to repair the acive sync problem?
Since about one month my active sync does not react about a usb plug in... FileTransfer and Internet Shareing is working perfect!
yesterday i flashed an original rom but i still have the same problem.
when i plug in the usb the win mob center does not activate anything...
all the best
seb
I would check under settings, usb, if the advanced USB is NOT checked.
If checked i can't sync, and without the advanced mode i sync ok.

AFTER Reconnect - It doesn't work any more
Questions:
Does it depends on a image or is it a hardware trouble?
Does it depends on the pagepoolsize (4mb)?
??

Thx for your adwise.
I tried it with a new usb-cable, but no differences.
I tried it on 4 PC's (with serveral AS-installations)
Shall I make a hard-reset??
thx
peter
once again - delete partnerships in AS, on PC.
you can check your cable by connecting after hard reset, with "naked" rom

I tried it after hard reset, but no connection could be established.
(without any AS partnership on it)
Only the little gong appeared, ...
Then I restored my backup, but the connection failed too.
thx for your help

You may have a fault in the USB socket on your phone. This happened to me with my old magician when one of my kids stood on the cable yanking it out really hard. My solution was to carefully squeeze the end of the cable (the plug that goes into the phone) a little bit tighter with some pliers. After that with that cable, no problem. But I imagine we all have our own different problems.
Only when a fresh reboot
It also happened to my. I just works when the phone is connected while the computer is swichting on. If you try to connect while the computer is up and running it fails, but if you connect before switching the pc on is runs smoothly.
It could be a windows issue. I have the same problem. @home my o2 orbit has some problem on syncing. It connects and authenticates, after that shows check if you have Activesync installed on pc. Some times it works after reinstalling Activesync. But on my office there is no problem at all. Always run smoothly.
So I suggest check with another PC and then try reinstall the Activesync.

But I checked it at (now) 6 different PC's with different cables.

I used to have this problem with my Artemis, all to do with 'Advance Network Connectivity'
Go to Start -> Settings -> Systems -> USB to PC
Uncheck the 'Enable Advanced network functionality' then try and reconnect. Once that has worked, take out USB cable, recheck the check box and connect again.
Should work everytime now....
Well, at least it has for me...

Hey guys, I just came from PDA v23.
I wanted to install crc 14.1 naked bs.
So I installed the at&t stripped version, then crc 14.1 rom.
But after that, I had a lot of problems connecting Active sync with the phone.
I have plugged it into the computer, and it does charge it, but active sync just stays with the gray (idle) icon, nothing happens at all, even if you soft reset it, click on sync or enter the bootloader, nothing happens.
is there something I'm missing?
if it helps, when I plug in the cable, and as soon as it goes in and turns the light amber for charging, activesync does open on the background, but it never syncs not turns green, it does not even try it.
I just tried a different cable that works, and didn't work. Tried another computer and it didn't even bring the message for found new hardware wizard.
Maybe a file was lost, or a driver that recognizes the computer?
I killed the 3 processes from AS:
Wcesmgr.exe
Wcescomm.exe
Rapimgr.exe
And reconnected and opened AS from my phone, and press sync, didn't work.
I also tried restarting computer, neither worked.
I tried using applications that I found to terminate AS like Kill Sync and ReSync, they killed ActiveSync and reopened it, didn't work still.
I've been trying to do this on my work computer, which always worked before the upgrade.
Yesterday I tried connecting the usb into my computer but nothing, also if I connect it to any computer, not even found new hardware wizard comes up.
Tried bluetooth synching, and that worked.
I also tried the WM5 storage prgram, that is not working either.
I thought that maybe I could edit some registry and make this work.
But I tried disabling advanced network functionality, didn't work, enabled it back on, nope.
I think, I'm gonna have to flash it back to the original ROM but as I tried the RUUWrapper is not able to detect my phone, not even on bootloader.
I have a SDHC memory only, and not able to get an SD one.
What can I do in this case?
I have tried multiple things as you can see, and have tried looking on google, but nothing has helped.
I want to see if flashing it to another rom will work, but I'm not able to do it without Active Sync.
How can I flash it back without ActiveSync or fix this Active Sync connection?
Please guys I really need help on this as I'm running out of troubleshooting steps.

did you go to the USB to PC settings and checked the use advanced config?
When I do that it works immediately... maybe try a soft reset and see if it's still
with the right configuration? (unchecked)
Yeah, tried it, but tried it again, checked and restarted and unchecked and restarted, both didn't work.
Thanks for your response.
Greetings!
Past couple of weeks when trying to connect my Arc to the PC it will not pick it up. It charges OK with the green light showing on the side but absolutely no indication from PC or laptop that a phone is connected.. I have 3 different cables and another laptop - having tried all the cables on both machines - still no joy.
No notification in the pull down - nada!
Reinstalled Win7 and factory reset phone half a dozen times - still nothing!
Running Win7 64bit but have never had issues with OS previously up until a few weeks ago!
Service provider was as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike!
Anyone know a solution?
Thanks

Thanks for the reply TheHaso. Should have mentioned I have tried with Companion installed and not installed, updater installed and not installed. With debug on & off, MTP on & off, MSC on & off, storage mounted/unmounted.
Really strange to be honest!
check your 'Device Manager' on your desktop,, it will show you if any hardware connected and not working propely.
right click and try update driver if show caution on portable devices.

Also tried this for a solution buddy.. Thought it was a USB driver had slipped off or something.
Truly baffled! If it's charging fine then why would pc companion not detect it :-S

I'm sure you must have already done that but may be try updating with a different driver and see if it could solve problem. I know because it also happened to me.

Greetings, which other driver would you be referring to? I have literally tried everything but still no detection from PC in MTP or MSC.

Uninstall the driver from device manager, then restart the pc and connect to another usb port
From my sexy LT15i
This will work...
I have almost the same problem on my ARC.
Download MyPhoneExplorer on your PC and install it.
Download MyPhoneExplorer Client from the market and install it on your phone.
Turn on USB debugging and connect your phone with your PC.
This works on my arc and i guess it will work on you phone as well..

Many thanks for the advice. Still not working and decided the final option of giving it to T-Mobile for repair.
Cheers for the reply guys.
Hi all, how are you?
I have a Galaxy Nexus unrooted stock with Android 4.3 (JWR66V).
After the update to 4.3, my device has stopped working in MTP/PTP mode.
I mean, When I connect my phone to my Notebook USB port, thus nothing happens on my notebook or my phone.
When my phone is connected to my notebook the notification dialog to select between MTP/PTP modes doesn`t show up anymore in the phone (it only says that is charging).
I have tried to re-install the drivers on my notebook, and It didn't fix this issue.
I have also tried to the a factory reset on my phone, and It did't fix the issue either.
Besides, I tried also to connect the phone with a different USB cable and it didn't fix the issue either.
Please, May someone help me?
Thanks in advance
Please, May someone help me?
I have no idea of what is going on and why USB stopped working after 4.3 update?
How do I troubleshoot this issue?any clues?
I figure out that on Android 4.3 I have ti go to Settings->Storage->Usb Computer Connection and manually select the connection mode...
(I am not sure Why the notification pop up doesn't show anymore on the phone when I connect it to the PC using the USB cable)

You are totally right... dont know the stu... option doesnt appears clear. On my S3 I did the same, but the option wasnt visible... you must click over USB (even it appearing as dimmed) then a USB CONNECTION (or something like) appears you must click over and then a screen with MPT option will be available... For godsake WHY such thing isnt available on settings or on shortcut menu by default is beyond my understanding.

What do you mean " make sure u have internet connection working when u plug it in !!! " ?????
Why do you quote my post?? If you want to help the person who facing problem, do advz to him directly. So you must explain to me aboved mention your word.
Try re-installing HTC Drivers.
If it is getting detected on other PCs, then I'm sure It's because of the drivers
