Reomve programs that won't uninstall in the normal way - Windows Mobile Software Development

What do you guys use to uninstall programs the won't uninstall thru rmove programs - it says unable to uninstall completely and it asks if you want to remove it from the list. I answered yes but it is still there. I tries installing the program again and then uninstall - same result. Is there a reg edit to get rid of it?

i had this same problem a few times. what worked for me was doing the uninstall option and when it says ..."remove from list" i hit no. I go bak into file explorer and install the same cab that you just tried to delete and you will get the same message and it will ask "delete previous version" it will then say "failed to uninstall would you like to install anyways" select yes for both of these options and then soft reset.
~hope this helps

This works for me sometimes. I also use SKTools which has a remove installed programs option and it works to if you have that.

deinstalling app thats not in deinstall list

Hey,
I downloaded snake from http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ to try on my HD. But I doesnt work correctly so i wanted do deinstall it. But its not in the deinstall list, and its added an ugly entry to my start menu thats unremovable too. When i got to start - settings - menu and i deselect it there I get a message: cannot move that item.
What to do to get this stupid ass app of the HD?
still need help with this please
did you try removing it via ActiveSync?
no, how can i remove a program trough activesync? I only use that to sync my contacts and calendar data with my computer.
Connect the phone via ActiveSync, then as soon as Microsoft ActiveSync comes up, go to Tools > Add/Remove Programs.
ok, I see now, i tried but no it doesnt show up in the list. Very strange, if you want you can try it, just install snake from the link provided in the first post. But warning, youll probably have the same problem.
just remove it from the windows file in the start folder.
it'll be on the phone but you won't see it to bug you.

You might have installed a cab that doesn't allow you to uninstall the software. You have many options to fix this. Some may work perfectly, others not so much, depends on the situation.
Option one is to install WinCE Cab Manager on your PC. Open the .cab file you installed (vulcan dialer) and change the properties of this file (Cabinet > Properties). The first screen should give you an check box option to allow the user to uninstall this app. Check the box, save, reinstall on your phone, then uninstall from the programs list. Also, make sure you are using the same .cab file you originally used, or it may make things worse.
Option two is to find the default XPERIA X1 dialer somewhere in the forum and install over vulcan dialer.. But I don't know how well that would work.
Last option is to hard-reset, if all else fails.

Apps not installing ??

I just noticed this weird thing, when i attempt to install apps out of the market, I open the apk (ES file-xplorer) then the "Do you want to install this application?" screen shows up, then i can't click "Install", but i can click cancel ?! it doesnt give any errors, and i turned off security settings for non-market apps
Using ARHD latest build
EDIT: hard reboot fixed the problem xD

Uninstall / reinstall system apps W10M

I am trying to figure out a way to uninstall or reinstall a system app that's broken. In my case the OneDrive app didn't open anymore, and updating it or install a new OS build didn't help. I realize that a hard reset would probably solve the problem but that's very time consuming compared to be able to just uninstall OneDrive and install it again.
I have tried using the winappdeploycmd.exe but the OneDrive package can not be uninstalled "on a per-user basis".
My phone is bootloader unlocked so I connected it in mass storage mode and deleted the corresponding folders in C:\Data\Winapps but the OneDrive package is still listed as installed byt winappdeploycmd and in Store on the phone.
Any ideas what folder or files I have to delete to make the app completely uninstalled?
Install InteropTools(and dependency) > Go to "Applications" > Package List > Tap and hold > uninstall.
Or deploy a dummy ondrive.

Deploying dummy will not help but re-provisioning easily solves problem.
So, put here the provision file.

You need to use the Beta 1.9 pre-releases to have the uninstall option. Don't use the beta 1.8.1 for this.

EVR-AL00 - Removed HiVoice - Google Assistant set as default | testing ok-google

Hey Guys,
I am running the Mate 20 x EVR-AL00 and I was able to get the hivoice uninstalled and the google assistant to stay the persistent assistant app.
Still struggling on getting "Okay Google" to work without the assistant app already loaded. Currently, holding the home button will launch the app.
Here are steps based on the methods of @RedCriwx for removing the default launcher:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-x/how-to/how-to-install-nova-mate-20x-reverting-t3863446
1) Download and extract ADB (I use platform tools:*http://mirrors.zzu.edu.cn/android/re....1-windows.zip)
2) Go to Settings > System > About Phone and tap on "build number" about 8 times. You should see a message saing: "You are a developer now"
3) Back to the previous menu and you should see now a new item called "Developer options", go there, find and enable "USB debugging" (you may have to use a Huawei ID).
4) Now connect the phone to the PC via USB and select "Transfer files" on the phone.
5) Open a command line and go to the directory you extracted "Platform Tools" to.
6) Run the command "adb devices", your device should shown. If not, you need to check the drivers.
7) Run "adb shell"
8) Run "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.huawei.vassistant". It should show "success"
At this point you should be able to set your default assist app and it shouldnt change back to hivoice.
One thing I am still having a problem with is enabling "Access with voice match"
https://imgur.com/jhUwTjH
Is anybody else able to enable this option that is running on EVR-AL00 ?

Looks like a lot work to get the same functions as the Google search widget. I just turned Hivoice off and put a widget on the screen but if this worked with only voice like saying "Hey Google" I'd be all over this.

Excellent step by step instructions. Thank you.
To remove Hi Voice this command was critical:
8) Run "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.huawei.vassistant". It should show "success"
Can you point me to a reference with a list of commands (or syntax) to remove other features/programs that I'd like to uninstall?
Many thanks!

Thank you very much, I wanted to play around more tonight but didnt get a chance.
So what you can do to get a list of commands is once your in the adb shell just run the command "pm -h"
It will display the output of all the commands that can be used.
1) enable "USB debugging"
2) Now connect the phone to the PC via USB and select "Transfer files" on the phone.
3) Open a command line and go to the directory you extracted "Platform Tools" to.
4) Run the command "adb devices", your device should shown. If not, you need to check the drivers.
5) Run "adb shell"
6 Run "pm -h"
Let me know if you find anything in regards to allowing the persistent "Okay Google" Command

Use it ta your own risk. You can cause too much damage though. Factory reset heals everything.
Ok Google will not he able to work on that AL00. As it's not installed as a system app.
The reason it works on the L29 is the Google app is installed to the system. Otherwise functionality will not be present.
Removed hiboard, now I can use google feed on home screen setting.

Same issue for me. Every time youtube vanced gets cleared from memory or I restart the phone, the app is not logged in. I have click on sign-in and then just back out of the login process...then it's fine. The regular youtube app does not have this issues.

I don't have 2 YouTube apps installed. After working some of the quirks out, I did a factory reset and set it up again. Now I only have vanced installed and I still have the issue on the L00 version. If there's a fix, please share. It's not a huge deal but just gets annoying I guess.
