Touch Pro 2 - Bluetooth Compatability - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I have a compatability problem between my new HTC Touch Pro 2 and my new Volvo XC 60 as detailed below. HTC say the following
The Bluetooth stack refers to the suite of protocols that are compiled to provide Bluetooth functionality. At this time, there is currently no official software available that will correct this issue. It may be possible for you to obtain third-party software
Is there anyone who may know if such a Third Party Software provider who can resolve this, many thanks
Regards

There are several threads in this forum that provide some answers.
I have a new S80 - experienced the identical problem to yours - and I did the following registry changes:
BlueTooth Fix:
1.Navigate to HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\
Click "Values" soft-key
Change "00001001" value to 1 (decimal) (recovery note: default is 2)
Change "00001005" value to 40 (decimal) (recovery note: default is 16)
Reboot device.
2. Modify the HandsFree plug-in:
HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\HandsFree
i. Change SupportedFeatures to 45 (default is 1135)
ii. Add value HFBDA binary, set to same value as LastConnectedBda
iii. Add value HFDeviceType decimal 2
3. Modify the WIDCOMM bluetooth general settings:
HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\General
i. Change bdaddr to (no value)
ii. Change DisableReopenAudio to 0 (default is 1)
4. Reboot device
To find other threads on this forum (and PPC Geeks) search for "Pairing bluetooth with car".

Touch Pro 2 vs Pioneer Avic x9115bt
I couldn't answer incoming calls. This worked perfectly. Thank you

I have had quite similar problems with my HTC TP2 an a Volvo V50.
Then I found out that there was an update of the BT-software of the car. The Volvo-Service installed the free update of the software in the car. Now it works fine without any problems.

It is'nt a new rom, T-mobile UK 1.30.114, date:18.04.2006.
this rom not support arabic at all
I installed this ROM few weeks ago and so far the best one. I had before QTEK one and EXEC, but this one is the best.
I have installed the new T-Mobile rom this evening with no problems... having re-synced with mail2web, I was able to immediately use push email and a2dp and wireless headset profiles (via a motorola h820 headset).
a2dp was satisfactory - audio quality wasn't perfect but acceptable, although there was occasional break-up (albeit I was walking around at the time) - I'll need to test this a bit more thoroughly to see if it's a realistic alternative to a wired mp3 player.
There are a few cosmetic changes to the t-mobile ui and a couple of additional apps also - sapsettings for remote sim management via bt (had not seen this before) and commmanager for managing phone, wifi, bluetooth, activesync, and pushemail via microsoft directpush.
The battery icon has also been moved to the startbar!
Perfomance seems to be improved also compared with the previous t-mobile firmware.
i tried to upgrade my jasjar but i could not so could you please explaint to me the ways to upgrsde my jasjar
thanks

As far as I can tell it does - I'm using the free mail2web exchange service and push email appears to be working fine using the default (ms push) settings...
As a further update to my experiences with the rom, I am very happy with the slight (but noticeable) performance boost, and the upgraded firmware has improve the phone / bt headset's ability to connect on-the-fly - ie: now I can just turn on the bt headset and the phone will automatically connect, whereas previously I had some problems reconnecting the two...
The only downside is I have experienced the occasional random freeze, requiring a soft reset - I have not installed additional apps under the new firmware yet either. (but i did let it install all the t-mobile extended rom stuff)
I've upgraded and thought I'd share my experiences as I reconfigure the device:
I went from R: 1.06.00 / G:42.40.P8 / D:1.20.32.WWE
to: R: 1.10.03 / G:42.44.P8 / D:1.30.114.WWE
1) for those that plan to upgrade in the hope of getting a better signal - DON'T. So far the signal is just as bad as it used to be, in the same conditions it's sometime even worse.
2) the only file I had to fish out the extended rom so far is PP_TMUK_conn_uni_130149.CAB. - the internet connection settings
3) sync was not happening until I reset the settings on both the desktop AND the device - something that would catch 'newbie' user by surprise.
4) There are few changes to the GUI, but it's mostly cosmetics. The icons are slightly different, the connection manager got a nice revamp.
5) There are very few application changes, at least not that I could notice, apart from a wireless connection manager on the today screen.
6) The extended rom folder contains all sorts of new and updated files, none of which I ran, but it would be nice to document those somehow.
7) Ram stats are as follow upon first reboot: storage: 43.50 total, 5.44 used, 38.06 free / programs 49.70 total, 18.55 used, 31.15 free
Overall I'm not sure if I'd recommend that upgrade - it doesn't seem to bring anything to the table.
UPDATE 27-07
8) There is indeed, as other have reported, a performance improvement in this release. It isn't 400% faster, but it definitely feel 'snappier'.
9) Call 'quality' has improved, meaning that with a good signal you'll hear 'better' sound than on the previour ROM, however signal quality as mentionned above stays very poor.
More to come as I test it some more...
At the beginning starting of programm switches off device, when says "device no connected" Current ROM installed Qtek 1.30.77WWE. PU10 At last device was killed and reupgraded by previous Qtek upgrading via bootloader screen only. Was very funny!

HTC WM6 - Car Kit Bluetooth Problem (no sound at all)

After upgrade to the official HTC WM6 ROM (spanish version) my integrated bluetooth hansdfree CAR-KIT doesn't work anymore (with WM5 the system works perfectly).
The car is a new CITROËN C4 Picasso, but i think this problem must involve any new PSA Group Car (CITROËN, PEUGEOT...) that mount the same kit.
I can pair the CITROËN hansfree with the TyTN, and both connects (i can see the operator name, the battery level, and the signal level, that WM5 stack doesn't show) but when i try to call, or i receive a call, there is no sound throw the hansfree system.
I also have tried the Jetware bt extension with no succes.
At now i had to downgrade to WM5 because this problem (i need the handsfree working).
The cuestion is...
Is it possible for a ROM MASTER to extract a previous bluetooth working TyTN stack to overwrite the stack that comes with official WM6?... (the WM5 or any working WM6 working stack).
Thanks
The same problem here with the same car; also the Artemis on WM6 (I tried several roms) has no sound.
Downgraded to WM5, and it's all working again.
Not yet tried to get an update for the car; maybe there is also a solution.
I have the same problem with Motorola HF-850 car kit. I'm about to downgrade too. This sux.
Same issue here with Nissan Sentra 2008.
I can dial and receive calls but the audio works about 30% or the time. It is hit or miss.
Same here in a 2007 UK CITROËN C4 (5 door hatchback) with factory fitted Bluetooth car kit, using an Orange M3100 with the Schap's WM6 Pro 3.60a ROM. Looks like I'm going back to the Orange WM5 ROM as this is a deal breaker for me. Very disappointing.
try this
I had similair problems a few pretty good solutions:
-jetware search google i use this one
-Solution:2
Change the COD (Class of Device) from a PDA device to a smartphone device.
This can be done this way:
1. First make sure you've got a backup, or remember all settings you change in the registry.
2. Edit with a registry editor the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD
By default my vario II does have the value: 1048852 (decimal)
Change this to: 5374476 (decimal).
3. Soft restart your device
4. Voila! Your device now identifies itself as a smartphone
see this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290871
Thanks!
I tried the Jetware solution: no luck.
I also tried the COD trick: very strange result, I was able to make just 1 (one) call and other calls were again not possible (no sound).
Maybe there is a solution in updating the software of the handsfree set in the car. I will ask my Citroen agent to do this, if possible.
I will post the results.
I haven't tried the COD trick, but I don't think this will work. It's not a case of my car 'ignoring' my M3100... it pairs OK, and the car's display shows an incoming call, allows me to pick it up, etc, but no sound comes out of the speakers and the other party doesn't hear my voice. It's like the car is receiving the data stream to tell it what's happening on the call, but not the sound.
I don't have any of these problems with WM5, I don't even need to use the JetWare solution.
same problem with Peugeot 407
Same problem here with Peugeot 407
What I found is that if I start a call without Bluetooth and start Bluetooth during the caal, the sound works perfectly. Every next call has the same problem as before though.
TyTN; WM6 Schap's 3.60a;Radio 1.47.00.10
Hi.
I am with Motorola's HF-850 car kit and I get the sound only after 8-10 full seconds from answering. It is so sad that I have to say "wait....wait" every time I answer a call....
There is a post on this forum that suggests someones got it working with an Audi and the latest Black beta rom...
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/hermes-black-rom-support/11291-black-x-beta-2-smash-trash-11.html
Anyone tried this?
This post also suggests that the newest Black roms may have fixed the issue
http://htc-devs.com/forum/index.php?topic=42.msg321;topicseen
Here's hoping!
That will not work on the Artemis
But I tried several WM6 roms, including the Black & Blue 4.1: no luck.
Looks like a real WM6 issue, as it's happening with several phone models.
UPDATE: No software update for the factory Citroen bluetooth handsfree according to the local dealer; so that's no solution
I have tried 5 of the latest roms yesterday including all the fixed mentioned in this forum. The best I got was with Sleuth rom where I get audio about 50% of the time. Answering with that rom results in a 5 seconds delay before audio connects causing me to yell "wait, wait, I am here ... "
I even tried a blootooth stack from Broadcomm but the result was not better.
Out of desperation as I bought this car specially for its built in bluetooth kit, I downgraded to Cingular Mobile 5 Rom version (2.15.502.3)
I am surprised and kind of thrilled to report that my 8525 and the car kit are working perfectly together and reliably.
There must be either a bug or a setting/configuration issue on the Mobile 6 bluetooth stack that caused this issue. I am unfortunately back to mobile 5 for the time being until this issue is resolved.
SPV m3100, CK3100 AND WM6
I have an Orange SPV M3100 in Spain with WM6 and i have the same problem. With WM5 and Jetware estension, i had to pair parrot and pda manually every time i got into my car, because they did not connect automatically (Blueetoth-->Devices-->Parrot CK3100-->FreeHand-->OK), but then it works well and i could receive and make phone calls.
But since I upgrade to WM6 i have to pair it manuaaly too, they connect, but it only works from time to time; most times, if i make a call it dials but i cannot speak and people does not hear me; if there is an incoming call, I see the number in the displsy but i can receive it.
Anybody with WM6 and Parrot Ck3100 works well?
I have the same problem with a Mio C520 SatNav. Its bluetooth handsfree works fine with WM5 but not WM6.
I also posted this on a thread on bluetooth headsets, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301636&page=6
I tried many different versions. So far with Sleuth's WM6, I had sound around 50% of the time. Similar to one of the previous posters.
Until there is a fix I will have to go back to WM5
I use a parrot car kit and it works fine. However, I noticed some new functionality on my lcd, like displaying battery and signal levels which was not available with the original WM5. That was available only with specific phones. Based on that I believe that a firmware update of your car kit could solve the problem. The issue is whether this is provided for you and if you will have to pay. Parrot offers them for free and you can upgrade via BT.

TP2 / Kenwood BT Contacts Download Issue

I have a Kenwood KDC-MP642U car audio system with Bluetooth capabilities and I have my HTC Touch Pro 2 [t-mobile] successfully paired and working great with 1 annoying exception.
As soon as the units connect to each other the contacts / phone book start downloading from the phone to the Kenwood system which is fine, however..... after EVERY call the contacts download fully again making the phone barely usable [slow] until the full phone book is downloaded. [90 secs for 150 contacts]
There is no setting on the Kenwood unit to not allow automatic download... if the phone supports it.... it will download. I was told by sales rep that his Kenwood did that as well and just to live with it ? ? ? ? ? ?
I have tried to find the appropriate registry setting on TP2 to deny auto PBAP access and download and cant find any help on this...... any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have the same setup, and noticed it on my prior phone as well (Motorola KRZR K1). I believe that the phone is updating the "recent calls" list on the headunit. I know for me the second download is MUCH faster than the first.
I haven't seen any information about preventing the update download.
this should do the trick:

Question: does it show up as one of the profiles under the bluetooth paired devices list?

Hi,
it does not work on htc hd7
Awesome. I just tried with a video podcast and Motorola Bluetooth headphones and the audio did play through the blutetooth headphones. Now why didn't they just make this a setting or change it!?
Important notice!
I see if wifi signal is too low bluetooth not working correctly (my car stereo show disconnected device after few seconds). Suggest to listen video even downloaded in phone's memory. I missing write reboot is needed after change value. Ehm... i think for missing settings function this is commercial strategy. I see more settings implemented in registry but for commercial strategy these features are released over time or because they have not been tested or have a certain advantage in being able to communicate the dates of signatures. Even if enabled tethering works but is not active yet officially. Same goes for the voice search bing. Tomorrow I will create another discussion where I say what keys to edit the search for local bing (3 icons). The one I have not yet found is just to enable voice search of bing. That works by modifying the system language in English, even if all other items are located with your language. I hope google translator work better for my translations. Scuse me for my bad english

Thank you so much for this. It took me a few weeks later to remember that I had did the registry change but not tested it. I finally tested it a few days ago and it works on my HD7. I was able to listen to the audio from my videos through my BT earpiece.
This missing feature on wp7 was bugging me for while! Nice hack fabcal, many thanks! Not sure why MSFT disabled this feature??
Nice! Will test when I get home.
I presume ChevronWP7 wont be sufficient to enable this?
You did error in:
\C_apsSet1
Need change to:
\CapsSet1
I did this on LG E900 with MFG. Tomorrow I will test this with bluetooth.

If wp7tools isn't for HTC products how did you do this on your HD7? Please detail so I can follow the way.
please how did it work on htc hd7
i can not get it working on mine
Awesome. I've been b|tching about this issue for awhile.
Just got around to finally testing and it works perfect on my HD7!! Thanks a lot for this. ANd you need to be interop unlocked and use the registry editor from Schaps (touchexperience) to make the change. Flash Dotcompt's rom and then all you need to do is install registry editor.
WORKS!!! Made change on my LG Quantum.
Thanks for this. I haven't really needed it, because my bluetooth device is my car stereo. I don't have bluetooth headphones. But, it still bugged me that I couldn't do it.
I am going to test this when i get in my truck before I leave work.
Oddly, the initial value was not 1. it was 27397520. (Actual original value)
When I first tested it, this did not work for me. I changed the value. Then I tested it. Then I shut down my phone and restarted. Then tested again. It still did not work.
Later that night, I checked the value in the retgistry. It was 1, not 0.
I changed it to 0, like I did earlier. But this time I powered down right away.
After restarting. I checked the value. It was still 0. I tested it.
It Worked!!!
I think the key to this is make the change. Reboot immediately. Check the value (probably not necessary). Then connect to bluetooth.
I think connecting to bluetooth before rebooting resets the value to 1.
So, just apply the change and restart the phone right away.
Thanks again for posting this.
LG phones have a built in registry editor which is in the MFG app. You just need to acticate it and then use the password.
After Software update with Backup are still changed values? Anyone know?
For Samsung Phones, If you get error code 0×81030120 while deploying wp7 root tools, install this internet connection sharing app and then wp7 root tools will be installed easily.
It turns off the flag which is used for interop unlock.
Hi,
Will this tweak force audio to a headset without A2DP; as in with HFP only?
regards
Dave

I'll be soon will be getting the HTC Titan and having it Chevron Unlocked but this will not be interop unlocked and so that I can use the registry editor from Schaps to enable this feature, so how do we go around this?

[Q] bluetooth problem (with Parrot CK3100, logitech z715, and in general)

I have an HTC Desire HD running Android Revolution HD 6.3.2 and using Radio 12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M as recommended by the rom.
Wel my question is What is wrong? Does anybody have suggestions for me what to do? I hope so.

What is the problem you are having? I have stock ROM 2.3.5 with sense 3.0 and no issue with pairing with my parrot CK3100. Have you tried updating parrot firmware.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda premium
yes parrot is up to date and the problem is that 99/100 times i try to search for a bluetooth device with my desire hd i can't find one. I said 99 of the 100 times because pairing with the parrot was successful once. but after 20 seconds of connection the connection was gone. so i deleted the device from the parrot and tried to pair again with no results.
Here a post of mine from another topic which indicates another issue but maybe will solve yours.

Well, Parrot support has been great so far. They have made me try a couple of different ways of pairing my device with the Parrot. In the end, my problem is solved my using a special paring mode. I go to Advance settings > Pair phone > and choose for the "Auto-pair no sync" option. No more crashing of the phone process on my Desire HD since.

But it is the auto-sync of contacts that causes com.android.phone to crash or not responding or in some cases just disconnects the device.
Besides if you disable this option you don't have any contacts in your address book in the CK3100.
As stated you can connect your phone without the auto-sync contacts option and then do the following to manual sync your contacts:
Alternately, any Bluetooth device that can send contacts can be used to populate your car kit phonebook. On the CK3100, allow the phone to connect automatically and then go to Settings -> Paired devices, Select your phone and then Select Disconnect. Press the Red button until you return to the main screen and verify the display shows your phone’s name with “DISCONNECTED” on the second line. In this mode, you can use other Bluetooth devices to send contacts to the kit and have them associated with your phone when connected. This phonebook will be available until the kit is updated, the phone pairing is deleted or the vehicle battery is disconnected.

I first checked if there was a newer firmware version of the CK3100 and there is!
And this fixes all problems, after installing this version I just paired my phone and everything worked as it should, auto-syncing contacts working properly. No need to adjust anything.
