being part of the tester team, I feel we should collect findings in here, rather than in the "old version 4.0"-thread!
so here we go:
- no problems on my hero (german mdaciii, without wifi)
- no touchflo integrated ( or am I blind?)-- SOLVED

Touch Flo enable = Simple do a slide from top toolbar on the bar down to the buttom toolbar

I have investigated more than once: no touchflo nowhere to be found! neither under settings, nor in programs or elsewhere!

I found only two little things:
1- the clock on the top bar is not sinchronized with the htc home clock (when this switch, the first switch about 10 seconds after)
2- every time I make a call the receiver volume is always set at min. also if I set to max.
Anyway, they are not important and Tom is great.

More Findings
1. Touchflo works well without the hardware button...when you finally find it
2. No obvious signs of the auto vibrate sound profile issue, either when adding an appointment or when an appointment come around. Haven't tested the auto profile yet though - just enjoying not having to turn my system sound back on every five minutes
3. The camera seems to work quickly and properly - nothing new or sexy to it, but working is sexy enough for me
4. The touchflo cube config module is better and slicker
5. It feels more stable and a bit faster - highly subjective, I know
6. I thought I had a few issues with ActiveSync at first - dropping connections, USb device not recognised -but that seems to have settled down
7. I haven't yet found anything I could describe as a bug but I'm still looking
Tom's done a very good job here - good work fella! He copped a little unfair flak around 4.0, as did the testers. This is not a commercial release - it's what you want to make of it. If you don't like it, or it doesn't work it's no-one's fault, just your tough luck. That's the risk you embrace when you move off of the OEM ROM. If it doesn't work don't donate - it IS optional - and use a different ROM.
This will do nicely for me in the meantime.

just a suggestion
Hi tom... everything goes well and works ok except that phonepad input problem.. bythe way i have a suggestion to the cube enabling process.. as far as i know in the actual HTC touch the cube is enebled when your slide the finger from top to bottom.. I think you have reversed it .. in this rom and the previous one exit is by this method.. If you can modify this setting easily can u update in the final version... If u cant also no problem as this rom is great.. Keep up the good work....

AFter install tomtom software whit tomtom Home the button 1 is set whit tomtom.I have copy touchflo.lnk from /windows/applauncher to /windows/startmenu/programs (this file is hidden) and set button 1 for start touchflow now

definately cant confirm this! running smoothly here!

One issue,
not Rom related (i think)
installed TCMP 0.72 RC1 and FlashVideoBundle.
When going to www.youtube.com.
Explores hangs.
But it is the only issue i could find

Calendar cab

guys can someone help with a link for WM calendar?
after installing 2.1 touch i had an issue with the left soft key in an appointment saying reply instead of edit. ive reflashed original wm5 rom and then vanmilla and same problem - now the calendar itself is playing up with things missing like letters (no am/pm just a & p) it only shows 5 hours in the working day
im just wondering if another calendar will help

for time, there is not pm or am on call register etc etc as well, just seems a bit strange, i re-flashed, hard reset, soft reset dunno what he problem is

the stuff you said, should be able to be fixed by settings (i.e. Flashing not required). the am/pm issue, I think it is in the regional settings. And the 5 hours working one, I think can be set in.. the Calender itself.

i tried all this, no joy, as soon as i add another rom, it all changes, but still doesnt explain why it says reply in the left soft of a calendar entry???

ive just flashed wm5 and the calendar is fine, reflashed 2.1 touc and then the same process with vanilla and again the soft key says reply??? it didnt with wm5???

I'm not sure what you are trying to say, but from the looks of it, it is a WM6 and WM5 difference, nothing much you can do about it.

I think he's trying to say the the right softkey in the Calendar program is set to "Reply" instead of "Menu". Basically, he can't get to the menu now. Can that be fixed with the softkey program in settings? (I haven't explored this application fully, yet) But that doesn't sound right. I don't know how you would correct the way softkeys change within programs - just the home screen.
He may want to try to turn off his firewall and download it again. Then reflash just to make sure.

Thats the way wm6 works
edit is in menu\edit different to wm5.

ahh ok, so its just set like that?
your both right - menu is on the right soft key and edit is in there
i just thought it may be a problem with my rom or phone as the left soft key says reply and its not clickable. its not a big deal im not that fussy and love the software - setlled with touch 2.1 in the end. only reason i was panicking s i thought it maybe a bug or somehting and ruin my phone

HTC Home works on Excalibur !

I found the CAB in another thread. There were warnings about Installation, another Guy had to do a Hardreset to get his Device booting.
I tried out and on my O2 XDA Cosmo with WM6 it works fine.
I think the Device becomes slower but I like the Homescreen.
Try it on your own risk!!!!!!!!

Yes, I also tried the HHC App and the installation corrupted. I don´t know another tool.

You can´t choose the Persons. When you choose "favorite People" and switch the Middle Button (I don´t know the name ), then -on my device- a new window opens with the saved numbers.

This is nice home screen, is there any way to add one more tab for launcher and different icons..

This is a nice screen, however, it seems to slow my phone down a lot and I am running the Rogers ROM with it...

I can't get the contacts shortcut to work. When I select it the 'config' screen comes up and disappears a second later not allowing me to put contacts in the shortcut. Any ideas out there.

had that problem unistall restart than reinstall

Worked fine on my phone with the Rogers Rom. Looks nice but would look better if it had vista aero effects. Free memory does drop from 22MB to 15 MB on the Rogers Rom.

Did that. I had the same problem. Every time you install something else on it, it goes right back to acting like that. I dunno If i like it anymore.

Hmm, I seem to be having a problem aswell....everything installs fine, but once I restart my phone...it tries to load at startup and comes up with the message-"Keyboard Hook failed. Program closed" or something along those lines...any ideas guys?

Try using this version. It doesn't seem to have the issue with the contacs and takes up less memory.

is this require facade?? then what else requirement to run this theme properly??

Facade is not required. All you need to do is install the Cab file.

just try the new attached cab, works great...

Tried it, nice but I wanted access to the MRU so here is what I came up with.
Just extract to your SD card and it will appear in the Home Screen Layouts.
This is the HTC Home replacing the Appointments with MRU.
See the attached screenshot.

the full package (i need appointments) and works great. Just scroll it down to see the MRU!

Enable HTC application launcher

Hi all!
I've installed a new skin to my TP2 (that was a big fault) everything was going wrong..
All buttons are completley white, horrible loading animation, etc, etc.
Now I have restored nearly everything. The only problem is that my startmenu is now as the old windows mobile drop-down menu. I want to have my HTC application launcher back. I think that it is a simple register setting...
I've searched here but cannot found a solution.
Can anybody help me with this problem/setting?

it sounds like you changed your setting for the home page.
try... hit start, hit settings, select today, select items, click HTC sense or touch flow (which ever one you have), hope it helps.

Thanks for the replay, but the TF3D is working perfect, just the startmenu is old (with a drop down menu) Not a finger friendly scroll menu
Can someone upload a register file fith the malia settings?

Since you messed it up so bad, it may be a better idea to backup your data and do a hard reset.

Good idea, but everything else is working right now, and i was hoping to wait until the wm6.5 version is ut (official) so I can use the installation time for that moment...
Can you help me with a register file from the malia settings? (or do you have other good idea's?
I think that the problem is simple --> I've installed a verry ugly skin. I was trying to remove it but Wimo give me everytime a error (failed to remove....)
So I've uninstalled it with SkTools, but I think that it has not restored the previous settings, but that it hase removed all the register values from the skin file...

there is a registry key that changes the start button and start soft button (top left) from opening the quick programs (manila shell) to the drop down menu (windows mobile default). can be found here:
HKLM\Software\EnlargeMenu
"EnableManilaStartMenu"
Change 0 to 1.
Hope that works. this is how I changed my quick programs to drop down menu (I prefer the drop down menu better).

Thanks for the replay,
I have searched for that register value, but cannot find it.
So I have restored some parts of the register (after a backup) in the HCT/Malia map and the HTC EnlargeMenu (In local machine and Current user). but still not working. it is already a '1' in there.
So my (simple?) conclusion is that there is a deeper problem.
Still missing other register values, or missing files that have to be somewhere to run that program menu...
Anybody else a good idea?

I'm using the device at my work (medical information/patiënt information) so it's nice if I could save the installation and wait until the 6.5 update will come out!

Update: Just did a hard reset to my device. Hoping that that will help fixing the problem. the device was after al these problem verry slow too...
Learned: Never install a big skin when I have 10 minutes time to see if I like it

hehe. I've hard reseted my phone at least 10 times since the last week I've had this phone. it's the only way to test out apps to find the right one that works for you. I do installs and uninstalls. eventually I will find an app that [email protected]#$ up my phone, or that works really well. this will be an on going process for at least 3 months until I find what to settle with. It was like that with my Mogul, and it will be like that even more so with the TP2 because it's such an awesome upgrade.

Issues with 6.5.3??

im currently using Hikey 9.3 ROM which uses build 28002.
It is by far the best, fastest and definately the most stable ROM to date. 5 weeks now and not even ONE soft reset!!!
I have a few small issues but being a slightly more unknown ROM its not well supported so thought I would ask here as I believe the questions could be 6.5 based rather than ROM dependant.
1) Task Manager doesnt close apps only minimises them. In 6.1 this can easily be changed through task manager itself but no such options on 6.5. Any reg changes etc??? p.s. dont refer showcase - love it but freezing issues big time with 6.5 and no current solution.....
2) The standard keyboard changes from qwerty back to default after every soft reset. Just because I havent reset in weeks doesnt solve the problem.
3) Data connection stays open. My email updates every hour and my weather every 2 hours but the data connection doesnt turn off which murders my battery. Any apps or advice here??

I'm using l3v5y's 6.5.3 rom, build 28014, only to issues. 1. when locked you have to tap time first, then unlock. 2. the dailer is missing its skin, i installed ryon WM dailer to fix this
2) The standard keyboard changes from qwerty back to default after every soft reset. Just because I havent reset in weeks doesnt solve the problem.

try installing this task manager and see if it makes a difference.. see attachments

Install the sip selector and that should stop the keyboard changes after resets

Sorry to be a pain but ive read pages 9-15 and cant seem to find it. Also tried search function for 'data connection' but couldnt find it either.
If you could direct further it would be much appreciated, I'll keep looking too
