Capturing incoming address / phone no - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Does anyone know a way to automatically capture an address from an incoming e-mail on to google maps? I have done that in iphone, where the phone pretty much recognizes an address or a phone no. in any incoming e-mail, highlights them, and gives u an option to directly select them to either search them on the google maps or dial the no.
So far, i have had to select the addresses as text from my incoming e-mails and then manually paste them in the search column of google maps....rather annoying and time consuming method, esp. when one's driving.
It would be great to have an app or a method to recognize and capture these incoming phone nos and addresses. anyoone know how?

using SMS notifications to activate ActiveSync?

I would like to develop an application which listens for incoming SMS, verify which ones are email notifications and automatically starts Activesync to retrieve emails, synchronize calendar and so on.
Is this feasible?
I have heard that you can't use the sms API as the interface is stolen by the 'phone edition' bit and you have to use the CE MAPI interface instead, working on SMS once they have been stored in the Inbox.
Any experience with this? Code bits?
Thanks, ciao,
Cesare
SMS notifications
You can use the RIL interface to get notification of about anything to do with the GSM part. However, it is not very well documented. If you go to the URL below you'll find a small app that will display notifications for incoming SMS messages and incoming SMS status reports.
However the message part is still encoded! There are some library calls that can decode the message, but I have not yet figured it out.

Push e-mail.

Hi,
Firstly, this is all new to me so please be gentle!
I have read varies threads about "push email" on here and feel totally confussed about the whole thing.......so felt it was best to explain my "vision" of what I want and find out from one of you guy's if its remotely possible or just stupid....so here goes.
I would like my Orbit/e-mail account set up in a way that would allow the following.
e-mail would be "pushed" to me via outlook on my Xda.
My home/work PC would not be any part of this process.
When e-mail is "pushed" to me it would only show the header and give me the choice of viewing the attachment at a later stage if i wish. This would reduce potential data cost.
I don't mind if it means changing my email address (currently with UKonline).
My work colleagues could send mail to my "PDA email addess" and it would then be "pushed" automatically to my PDA without me doing anything.
The process would be free/cheap.
.........if this is possible would someone PLEASE give me step by step instructions of the process and specific software that I should use.
Many thanks in anticipation
Rob.
I thought I'd answer this as I've tried a few methods.
basically, here's what I did,
I got an application from a company called qore. This is a piece of software that triggers a send/receive on receipt of a certain text message.
I'm with T-Mobile, so they have a system that sends you a text message when an email is sent to <your number>@t-mobile.uk.net. If I remember correctly you get the senders details and some of the message.
So, I set my outlook at home to automatically forward all my emails to <number>@t-mobile.uk.net.
The mail application from qore, intercepts the text message I get from T-mobile (there's an option where you tell it to look out for certain characters in the text message) and then triggers your unit to do a send/receive (over GPRS) and retrieve your email.
All this is done without your knowledge. i.e. you don't get an indication of the text message, you just get an indication that your mail has been received (if you have set up notification of this).
All other text messages are received as normal. so the qore program only filters out the specific one you tell it to.
sadly, when I tried it, it was a little hard to set-up as it kept intercepting random messages. maybe they have improved on it by now.
I think what you need is an account here:
http://live.mail2web.com/
basically you can point your "pda email" account to an address with mail2web and it should get pushed to your pda
I tried it out and it worked, but I dont really need it so haven't used it since. It does mean you will use some extra GPRS as I believe it maintains a "heartbeat" connection ( I think that was how someone explained it !!)

Push Email
1. Register a Hotmail account and use the included Microsoft Pocket MSN software it works!
2. Register an account with http://www.consilient.com it's free and allows push mail from many services...
Hope this helps..

How to manage contacts with multiple mobile numbers?

some of my contacs have multiple mobile numbers, i.e. work, private, car mobile.....so, how can i manage them since wm6 doesn't allow me more than one mobile number for every contact. i know thta i can use inesoft address book, but using this software, once i have choosen my contact,i cannot directly send an sms to the contact, or at least i haven't understood how to.
have you got any suggestion for me.....i'm really bored with this issue, my nokia n70, symbian 3rd edition can handle multiple numbers for avery contact.....
maybe there's no answer to my question?
you cant
heck you cant even do that in Microsoft Outlook
You'll have to make multiple contacts for a single person
John 1
John 2
for each mobile number
Anyway, you'd have to manually select which mobile number to send a SMS to That'd be faster to have multiple contacts.
Otherwise, if it's just for voice call, then just put anything (house, work, etc), doesnt matter.
Try out pocket informant 8, in the contact list it will show multiple chooses, maybe it will fit your need, they have trial version so you can take it for a test spin for free .
It will take some time to get use to but the one handed operation is great to look up contacts and click to dial, blows the contact list in WM5/6 out of the water.
I have used several versions of this, very stable and works great and it will sync with outlook.

Hmmm you cant save multiple entries for the same name in SIM no matter what phone you use.
In wm all you do is create a new contact, and when you do that create the contact as outlook contact...that way you can add multiple number, email, address, etc etc...
I know how you feel; it's a pain to have several mobile numbers for one contact when you want to SMS (voice dialling is fine)
Here is how it can work while maintaining only one contact in Outlook:
- Enter additional mobile numbers in Outlook under pager, car, other (or whatever you fancy)
- When you want to create a new SMS, do NOT start typing the name directly to get auto completion, click the To: field instead (or go through Menu -> Add Recipient)
- This brings up your contact list, and you can now choose your contact and select any of his/hers numbers to send the SMS to..
Hope this helps
I'm not sure what you're aiming for exactly. WM6 has a lot of options for multiple mobile numbers, and AFAIK, Symbian S60 v3 has fewer options, at least on my N73 ME it does.
you can do this by adding the number under another option e.g. home, create new text then select contact through the contacts option rather than typing their name in the to box, you'll get the option then to choose either phone number or email address.
never tried before, i'll test it, thx for your suggestion
it is a real silly problem, in PC outlook you can add private fields, but you will not be able to synchronize it with your ppc. hope we can find a good real solution for this.

[Q] Contacts on second gmail account don't show up when calling or texting

I have two gmail accounts. Both sync my contacts just fine (both can be searched and come up). However, whenever I receive a text or call from my second account (I use handcent and Callapp), it just shows the number, as if I don't actually have the contact saved. This is getting frustrating as my second account is a google apps account that I use for work, and clients are calling me without me knowing who they are, until I copy the number and search for it in my contacts. Did anyone else encounter this and how did they solve it? Thank you.

Question regarding email on Android Wear.

Ok, so we get email notifications on this watch.
1) Am I able to read the entire email or just the subject and a quick bit?
2) Can I use voice to respond to the email?
3) Is my voice response editable in case Google Now misinterpreted what I said?
4) Is keyboard input of any type possible?
5) Does each email get its own card or am I given a list of emails?
6) If I swype them away on the phone, are they marked as read or deleted from my phone?
7) Am I am able to respond only with Gmail or with other email apps as well? How about Outlook for instance?
1) yes you can read the the entire email.
2) there are voice respond and some quicke answer like yes, no, hehe and smiles
3) if you want to correct the text you have to abort and you cannot open the email again on the watch!
4) There isn't a keyboard to type text
6) after swiping just the notification on the phone is gone but the email is still marked as unread. Same thing like you swipe the notification at your phone.
One other thing I noticed, if you wanna open o link from the email it will open on the phone, even if a internet browser is installed on the watch.
I really like browsing Google news with the watch  I use mini browser. Has a anoying keyboard but easy access to your chrome bookmarks
