i am a new user using htc hd...i dont know what is manilaa.can someone explain 2 me about it and describe how to install it to the device.Thank You
Manila or TF3D is the standard user interface on the HTC roms. There are however different versions that are released as more development takes place.
The only way currently to get an updated manila version onto your device is to flash to a new rom with the latest version "cooked" in.
yea, as above, manila is basically the codename for touchflo, so in all the registries and files associated to it, manila is referred to, not touchflo. thats why it makes sense to call it manila (from a development standpoint)

I am using normal STOCK rom for touch HD can i used themes for posted in the customizing TF3D collection new manila themes?

- TF3D now works in landscape
- Some news applications for the contact, text message and call history..
Anyway ! Check PointUI (signature) or SPB Mobile Shell ! I do'nt use TF3D anymore
no one can answer?
He answered you question, some new programs are added (new Contact Manager, HTC Zip tool and more), some exsisting programs are updated. Also the new TF3D seems smoother. If you run the old TF3D I would highly recommend you to upgrade to for example: Dutty's 2.9 RTM ROM (this has the new TF3D included).
Peace!
is it possible to upgrade the manila v2 to v3 without changing the rom?
no, there is no installable update of manila. the only thing is to install some of those modules (e. g. the notification manager, the new camm manager etc.). But most of the modifications are only available if you flash a new rom

Check out this thread It's for VGA though
I have a HTC Touch HD which seems to be running TouchFLO 3D version 1.3.37395.0_1630.38. Now my question is what are version 2 and 3? Can I upgrade my version to a later one or not? Or do I have to use 1.3 with my Touch HD? And can I use the software provided in this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493011 , to customize my TouchFlo 3D interface, but yet be able to revert back to the stock one easily?
I'm interested in this. Been using the Search function and Google, but I haven't been able to find CAB files for TouchFlo3D beyond the version as posted by the OP.

Yup, I think we dont have the cab for you install the Manila (TouchFlo3D) I need to get to know about upgrade ROM (wm6.1 or wm6.5) cause these Chefs will have the latest version of manila. Sorry to say that
In fact the manila included in the kitchen (ROM). It's more compatible with the ROM (less bugs).
So, try to research more mates.
Hope it helps
i wanna know which is V3 too.....which rom is using TouchFLO v3
but i see v2.5 is latest.........make me confuse
There is no TF3d 3.0
I read it also in some posts, but that isn right.
Version 2.0 is the "new" TF3d, which has a calender tab, landscape mode and much better integration, so it hides windows mobile better (Main TF3d from Diamond 2 and Touch Pro 2).
Version 2.1 is an updated version of 2.0 with some changed parts (You see it now in the most cooked Roms).
Version 2.5 Is a beta TF3d. You find it in some cooked Roms.

You are correct. There is a number of threads which incorrectly state manila V3.0. At present there is no such thing. Manila 2.5 is latest but is still full of bugs and issues which need sorted out by HTC before it can be used on a daily basis.
There is only way to change manila version, and that is to flash to rom with newer version of manila on it. You can not get manila in .exe or .cab to install to your device. Their was a few chef's who created roms with manila 2.5 on it but as stated earlier these roms where to full of bugs to be used daily so each chef has had to revert back to manila 2.1 for the time being.
To all brothers
I dont understand of Manila
Im using HTC HD, newbies here
i had try to read so many subject regarding manila in this forum
and try to download some programe that i need
but i found that there is nothing change with my phone
issit we need to install first a main file before install the add on?
by the way, whats is the different of the dusk manila and manila?
or maybe brothers can guide me in installing the manila when 1st usage
thanks a lot
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you're trying to update manila? Maybe from the stock one to 2.1 or 2.5? If that's the case, then you have to do it by flashing to a custom ROM which has the new manila (there are no cabs/programs which will install a different version of manila).
Dusk is just a theme (skin) for manila. In order to apply it, you need the corresponding version of manila that is needed.
Hope this helps.
Most of you guys will probably be realy pist off with this thread but please if anyone could help just a little.
I'm new with all this (rom flashing, manila, sense etc.), so if anyone could explain how to put on new manila and witch programs do I need I would be realy gratefull. I tryed just to install the .cab file and it didn't do anything. I didn't get what maxmanila is. Is it a program or some new way to code the manila. If you don't waste your time to write about it please give a link to something where a could find my answers.
sorry if the tread gets some one angry but I just couldn't find information about this things.
Generally the only way to get a new manila is to flash to a rom with the manila cooked in (I understand for some devices it is possible to get a cab to change manila, but I haven't seen this for the HD).
Read the Dummies Guide to Flashing on how to flash to a new rom. Post any additional questions you may have in that thread.
MaxManila is a theme which allows you to change the appearance of the manila interface by changing clocks, settings to make sliders auto hide etc.
I want to do that (change apperance) for start, witch program do I need do do that after I download the theme? I read dummies guide and i intend to flash my rom if the theme changing ain't be good, but first I want to try to change the theme but a got lost in all those .cab-s but non explanation how to put it on (it's probably not hard but I'm new so everything is hard to me for now, a the main thing is that I'm afraid I?m going to screw up my phone)
Well the opening line in the 1st post of MaxManila states:
Here's a treat for those who has already flashed the latest Manila 2.5 ROM from Miri 7.1, Dutty Leo R2, Latest Energy ROM and PhamQuang v59 onwards.

So you need to flash the rom first to a manila 2.5 based rom in order to try it out.
There are other tweaks and themes that you can use with the stock rom. What would you like to change in terms of appearance?
If you follow the Dummies Guide and take it step by step it is not difficult to flash your rom. As with everything in life there is a risk, but it is very difficult to totally screw up the device and you should always be able to recover. So as long as you follow the guidance and advice you will be ok.
HELP...?
Hi, ive had my HTC Touch HD for like 14 months or so now, (since it was released)
and i CANNOT for the life in me work out the whole CAB, manila, etc thing... i'm generally quit tech minded and consider myself easy to adapt to this stuff... but i've been completely beat...
I just can't work it out..... i managed to brownload that TF3D program to open the files from within but im limited to certain themes with that program.... its in fact the 'Vista' theme that i love and want! but its a CAB and when i download it it downloads as just an 'Attatchment.php' file and i dont know what to do with it!
What am i missing... i've read everything there is to read on this forum... and im STILL totally lost.
Help Me!
Hi there,
let me give you a few definitions
*.CAB = an installer file, it can add items to the regisrty and install files to your device
Manila = the interface that was installed on your device when you got it, there are 3 versions:
Version 2.0, TouchFlo3d = the interface installed on 1st gen devices sucha as the diamond, raphael and blackstone
Version 2.1, TouchFlo3d2 = the interface installed on second gen devices such as the Rhodium and Topaz
Version 2.5, Sense 2.5 = the newst interface from htc, found on the HD2 (Leo, this is a 3rd gen device). HTC have also released for tp2 and diamond 2 users running stock
Resolutions
WVGA = 800X480, HD1, HD2, Pro3, Rhodium, Topaz, Kovsky (XperiaX1), x2
VGA = 640X480, diamond, kaiser, raphael
These are the 2 main rese's you will here about
Porting:
As the HD is a wvga device, chefs have copyed files from the HD2, so you have get ROMs with sense 2.5
Any more descriptions needed, post em here and i'll see what i can do
Hope this helps

your attachment.php issue suggests your browser is simply not downloading the file, but rather the script that websites have to direct your browser to the file you want (something like that, im not a web guy). make sure you arent right clicking and saving as file/link when you download the file, but are left clicking on the download link. also, try changing browser.
but im pretty sure that the .php isnt the file you want in any form.
