Hi, I get confused for the 3 concepts:
what is the relationship and differences among
HTC Sense UI
Manila
and Touch FLO 3D?
Thanks a lot and happy new year everyone.
They're all pretty much referring to the same thing: the HTC UI with the flippy clock and the tabs at the bottom. TouchFLO 3D was the official name for HTC's UI until version 2.5, when it was retitled Sense (to integrate better with the HTC branding done on its Android devices). Manila is the HTC internal codename for Sense UI.

Why has manila been removed from most if not all of the 6.5 roms?
Am I missing something here? The 'new' interface for win mo 6.5 seems to me to be absolute rubbish as an interface. I have installed XBmod over the top.
What's the point of this new interface? It's limited at best. If you compare it to say the new iphone 3.0 os (I'm a win mo fanboy by the way) it's embarrassing.
Surely TF3d2 is the way to go??

Take a look at some of the awesome panels and themes being developed over in 'Development and Hacking' and you'll understand. The themes are rich, customizable and very nice. ibrythill's WM7 one is a great example.
It's actually very flexible and functional. It can house heeeeappps more in those panels than Manila and then people are creating any sorts of plugins. Last night I read about a facebook panel that was just released. There are no facebook tabs for Manila, no 'create your own tab', no twitter tab etc.
I know I possibly made Manila sound bad but it is not by any means. Just a couple of reasons you'd want to try Titanium as a UI.
Cool thanks for that, wasn't aware of titanium etc etc will have a further look.
I was just looking at the basic homepage that comes with the roms and was a bit alarmed!
I think something cool should be on out of the box though when the new os comes out. as long as normal phone users dont have to mess about etc.
Well I suppose you can always put another homescreen like TouchFLO 3D on top of WM6.5. So it is very flexible to have a clean ROM and let users choose what suit them most.
BTW, the built-in kinetic scrolling of the WM6.5 is very good. I hope there would be a version of the TouchDLO 3D without the HTC kinetic scrolling.
Hi All,
I saw WM6.5 with Hero UI Manila 2.6 in Topaz forum, it's cool UI.
It's really cool UI, love it but can't have it.
Hoping someone cook for this kind of UI and sharing with us ??
Thanks.
Nothiing yet. We will have to wait until someone ports it over. I'm sure the hardcore Diamond dev's are already on the case.
First 2.5 would be ported I guess, I'm not much of a fan of the coloured icons, they look a bit too cartoony lol.
if you look at how slow the 2.6 interface is with more RAM, imagine how we'd suffer, as it is the 2.1 can eat RAM like crazy...
but yeah it would rock

I am a current owner of a Verizon XV6800 and am searching the forums daily for news of Verizon's release of the Touch Pro 2.
With the improvements in the TouchFlo 3D interface, what are users going to find to be the biggest improvements with Windows Mobile 6.5? I'm not an expert, but it seems like TouchFlo 3D steals a lot of thunder from this upgrade. Other than the honeycomb screen (which I assume won't be utilized if using TF 3D) and access to the Windows Mobile store, I don't see anything earth shattering.
Thanks for any answers!
From my limited experience usinf wm6.5 (mostly from the old tmobile wing rom) I can't think of too much advantage of wm6.5 with touch pro2 either.
The biggest advantage of wm6.5 on wing was enlarged pop up menu and scrolling, which is already handled elegantly here with touchflo. So to me, wm6.5 upgrade is nice but certainly not necessary.
I'm anxiously awaiting my TP2 in the mail, but the biggest advantage I've found so far with WM6.5 on my current Tilt is the text messaging screen. Nothing is really different other than the icon next to each text showing if it has been replied to or not.
Pretty sure TF3D takes care of that in its own messaging window, though
One thing I really want out of WM6.5 in the newer builds is the new taskbar.
I'm seriously not a fan of the honeycomb start menu. I've just tried out one of the 6.5 ROMS, and it's a real turnoff. Don't understand why Micro$oft thinks anyone would want icons arranged in such a way. I've since flashed back to the latest stock HTC ROM...
Does anyone know where I can find a ROM or kitchen for Diamond with Windows Phone 6.5 build 21867 and possibly HTC Sense?
There is no HTC Sense for Windows Mobile. You probably want HTC Manila 2.5
Actually, there is. HTC HD2 comes with "HTC Sense"
it is our first Windows phone to embody HTC Sense™ - a holistic experience that focuses on making phones work in the most intuitive way. HTC Sense is based on three core principles – make it mine, stay close, and discover the unexpected

Hi
i have a question,
first, are they really made a Facebook tab for manila in the new HD2 ?
And the main question:
can We use the HD2 Rom on our Touch Pro2 ?
majority of the roms on this thread are from the HTC LEO which is the HD2
idk bout the fb tab but there is a twitter tab cuz htc has htc peep on sense ui now
and they are being ported right now
check them out
hd2 rom for tp2
the weather in hd2 has some nice efects does the hd2 rom work for the tp2? os is it posible to install only the weather effects?
THX
You can't install the hd2 rom on a touch pro2. It will brick you're phone. But some roms have ported the sense version of the Leo to the tp2. You should search for that.
Tank you I will look for it
and if you don't like any of the cooked roms try out a stock rhodium rom version 2.07.xxxxx. it has the same weather effects through manila 2.5 as the leo and the cooked roms.
Got the Energy rom, works great, got the weather efects and much more thanks everyone.
