I mean i use x1 to take photo by the camera user interface(X2 program)
Is possible to do that?
thanks.
should be possible I think... just wait and see ^^
I think that X2 ROMs posted in ROM section do already have X2 camera software. So yes, it is possible but some options sill be disabled.

the hermes front camera cannot be used to take pictures of yourself, but the camera from trinity has an extra special icon where you can click to change the cameras
is it possible to get the camera software from trinity and flash it into my hermes? anybody knows?
Use the search! It's been discussed before. (Yes, it's possible to use the Trinity's camera driver but you lose the LED flash.)
A better option is ATEKsoft's software.
(Longing for grainy VGA shots of your face?)
Don't you have the shiny self portrait mirror next to the main lens for that???
Oggy.

Your sig reminded me of this article - how everything gets "old" eventually.
Hello,
I have been search a lot for the SE default camera app...it's much better than the slow HTC camera app...
I found the update R3A, however, i cant find it in programs and didn't replace htc camera app...
Could anyone help?
I am using Touch-IT Xperience v15_Build23502 Rom...
My problem was the SE camera software and I was desperately looking for a HTC camera .cab. So came back to Tf3D I personally don't really like because SE software sucks with movie and HTC app - maybe little slower works with it without problems.
Maybe this will help you: link

This rom has both camera app: HTC one and SE one
If you want to use the SE one, just use the hardware button on the side of the phone...

I know this issue...
When you have remove R3A app, you have remove some files needed for SE app so it won't work anymore.
Just re-install R3A app and all will work with the hardware button
r3a camera cab

I am using the latest EnergyROM and I have both cameras installed and working (HTC and Xperia) but the default one is the HTC (e.g. when I open WorldCard it launches the HTC one .. not Xperia) how can I cancel the HTC camera and keep the Xperia camera only?
Use the camera HW button to launch the SE camera
I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson X10, and now I'm a very proud owner of my SGS2.
But when I had my X10, there was a FANTASTIC Sony Ericsson camera apk called "Panorama".
It was possible to take beautiful panoramic pictures in only one second ! No need to take many pictures, no need to stich, it was absolutely amazing !
I searched Android market, but there is nothing like this app, and all the other panoramic camera have really crappy results
So I wonder if one dev could mod (hack ) the Sony Ericsson apk, and compil something that we would be able to use on our SGS2
See this apk in attachment
First, you should have posted in Q&As thread.
Second, it already exists in Camera app in SGS2
I've tried it myself, its really great!
photaf
Man check out the photaf app in market. its way cool for panoramic photos...
yhe pic in the site is from "my office"

I think you should try to find someone who have an X10 to realise the difference. Cause I tried photaf, and there is no comparison
change the cam mode from single to Panorama

That's absolutely not the same result... Well, I hope someday a dev will find a solution
sorry did not know you wanted a 360 picture
Hi everyone,
So I'm thinking about switching from MIUI to a custom ROM, and I was wondering if it is possible to use the second camera with custom ROMs like Lineage or RR (or whatever ROM out there). I don't know much about camera protocols and as far as I know there is no standard one for dual cameras, so I don't know if just installing Xiaomi's camera on a custom ROM will take use of the second camera. (I don't even know if this precise camera app is installable from anything else than MIUI). Also, I've myself not encountered any camera app out there that can take advantage of the whyred dual camera.
Of course I can rely with some AI cameras for lens blur and portrait mode, but I don't know, I just don't like the concept of losing the utility of an hardware piece just because the software can't "afford" it.
Thank you for reading, guys.
Interesting question! And even more important, how is the quality compared to miui?
Have you tested it with open camera??

Mi A1 forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/themes/oreo-mia1-stock-rom-camera-app-custom-t3758543
It's reported working fine, except HDR. The feature is turned off by default, but don't take a photo with it being on or app will crash until you restart your device
PS. Please dive through the forums for answers, before opening a post.
Edit: can you guarantee, that your stock camera ain't just for show? I mean did you open it up and stick a multimeter to check?
Edit_2: pls don't try...dual camera are actually working, you'll notice a difference once you compare a stock MI camera app with GCam
And don't try sticking up a multimeter up your Mobile
You're Joking Right..

The phone in question is RN5 AI Dual camera, NOT Mi A1! Totally different phones. The AI comes with SD636 chipset, the Mi A1 with SD625 chipset. The ROMs are not compatible at all.

It is not a rom, he is telling you to flash.
But a Ported Mi A1 Camera app, that works across custom roms.
It will actually allow use of the Redmi Note 5 [WHYRED] dual cameras in manual mode of the app.
Also the AI in the device name, is used incorrectly by some sites. Not the official name or appendage for the device.
Edit: - Last time i checked, no one has ported the MIUI camera from RN5 yet.
Yes,I'm download many version and install use it but it always not responding....
But finally I found one version of it that can be use in Sony Xperia XA1 ULTRA.(Maybe is the only one version that can be use)
And that is MGC_5.1.018_v2e_tolyan009_v1.3.6_manual_focus.apk or MGC_5.1.018_v2e_tolyan009_v1.3.6.apk
yes technically it is two version but hey the different is just can manual focus and not manual focus only
FYI:Sony XA1 ULTRA have camera2 api,no need to install rom.
But using this app is pretty useless, because sony doesn't support HDR+,slow motion, portrait mode, panorama, photo sphere, raw photo and etc.
Support feature is only lens blur.(Maybe got some feature that can be use but I miss it)Some situation using this feature is pretty good though.
And yes why I'm still love taking photo using this app is because oem camera app taking photo time was too long!!! :crying:
Taiwan forum got some buddy using this version at there Sony Xperia Z5.(So maybe is the only version that can be use in Sony mobile??)
Comment it and let me know about it.

You can try and install it.If you can use it Then congratulation for you because I can't use it
IV been around
Sony has a modified camera api 2 support. Unless someone makes a port that's universal you will never get the google camera to do slow motion. And yes i'v noticed it's slow when using hdr. Using a different camera app will not give you access to some features sony offers. I get it the camera is slow sometimes, but your giving up decent features for load time. I think maybe your thinking your taking a step foward but really a step back. Maybe multiples. If you truly want google cam, you need to drop stock and find a way to compile aosp. Which sony dev stop supplying access to kernel sources which means no more aosp for xa1 ultra. After this oreo update, I heard this could be its last update and declared eol. End of life
