I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson X10, and now I'm a very proud owner of my SGS2.
But when I had my X10, there was a FANTASTIC Sony Ericsson camera apk called "Panorama".
It was possible to take beautiful panoramic pictures in only one second ! No need to take many pictures, no need to stich, it was absolutely amazing !
I searched Android market, but there is nothing like this app, and all the other panoramic camera have really crappy results
So I wonder if one dev could mod (hack ) the Sony Ericsson apk, and compil something that we would be able to use on our SGS2
See this apk in attachment
First, you should have posted in Q&As thread.
Second, it already exists in Camera app in SGS2
I've tried it myself, its really great!
photaf
Man check out the photaf app in market. its way cool for panoramic photos...
yhe pic in the site is from "my office"

I think you should try to find someone who have an X10 to realise the difference. Cause I tried photaf, and there is no comparison
change the cam mode from single to Panorama

That's absolutely not the same result... Well, I hope someday a dev will find a solution
sorry did not know you wanted a 360 picture

Hi,
I tried searching the forum for any application or tweak that allows you to use the front facing camera. I am looking at mostly taking pictures.
I had a nec 616v and it was for video calling as well.
However, i could use the front facing camera, it really looked cool.
I was just wondering, if anyone know, about an application that can do the same thing for my touch HD.

To be honest, there are lot of small things like these, I havent checked.

didnt know if anyone wanted it.
it opens takes photos does panoramic but photo sphere doesnt work says phones not supported it installed as a downloaded app so you have it and stock im using rooted stock v3
It's POS in comparison to our TW camera. I tried it (from different source). Sphere works but there is no viewer for it so it has to be uploaded to G+ and viewed on the computer.
Otherwise it lacking so many features it's almost unusable.
Takes pictures but that's about it.
yea the panoramic and sphere feature is the only thing cool about it.
Try the one mentioned by ramjet in this post. I believe it has been patched to remove the device check. I tried it on my EVO 3D and it worked. The sperical view in the gallery works just as intended.

It works great, no FC for me.
what specific version did you succeed in trying on the sprint note 2? does it install ALONGSIDE stock camera and gallery like it does on my S3 ?
the tw camera is pretty dope is 4.2 cam better ?
the 4.2 camera is total CRAP (compared to the S3/N2 camera). but you want it. because photo sphere is "dope" as you say I run them concurrently on my S3 I hope to do the same on my new N2.
I recently upgraded to 4.2.1(ParanoidAndroid 2.9.9) and the new camera(which I assume is the standard Google 4.2 camera) is very basic, and very weak compared to what I had. The old camera(which was also Google stock) had a lot of filters built in, and some hilarious distortions such as "Big Eyes" and "Big Head". My kids LOVE those. They are now gone, as is most of the awesome functionality I had. In it's place is Photo Spheres which I personally consider useless. Is there a way to get my old camera back? I don't want to be stuck on 4.1.1 forever but I hate this new camera!

You can install camera ICS from the market. The layout isn't exactly the same ( I assume it's mimicking the ICS camera layout) but it will give you back the filters, funny faces. And yes I wondered the same thing why did google remove them. Kids get tonnes of laughs out of those. I'd love to know how those decisions are made... 'Hey you know those features we've had in the wild for over a year? Yeah let's remove them'
my exact thoughts also, when i had the 16gb nexxy i updated and was VERY annoyed to find the effects deleted, so much it was one of the "cons" that pushed me into refunding for a non-updated 32gb version
im still 4.1 now lol i seriously dont understand why google would :
A: release nexus 7 without a camera app.....(yea i do know why but lame excuse)
B: when you update to 4.2 it deletes any camera app and replaces it with dah dah duh daaaaa a broken one with non-working photosphere.....wtf?
sooooooo mmmmm yeah ill remember this thread when i come to updating

Removing those "cute" functions is one thing, but how is the 4.2 camera "broken"?

Well I assume he meant the PhotoSphere which as best I can tell is not functioning correctly. I have not yet gotten it to work at all.
How come i didn't get a camera? I'm on PA 2.99 beta 6.

Because it's not supported for front facing cameras? That's not broken, that's design.

First of all, the app doesn't know which way your camera is facing, nor does it care. Second, I didn't even try it on my Nexus 7, I tried it multiple times on my Galaxy Nexus. Still broken. Never got a decent result. You may say it's operator error, but that's a ridiculous statement as well because it's pretty self explanatory.

ok so look basically it would be very stupid putting diesel into a petrol as it wouldn't work......
acer made it to remove any cam app we had previously then installed a app exactly the same but without the working effects, .... only 1 broken one..photosphere,
saying that its supposed to only work with a front face cam....well then why go to the trouble of jacking our old app and putting one with a feature we cant use......? :good:
Just saying, the app does know which way the camera faces... I assume something in the data for the camera tells the app its front facing. This is probably useful for apps such as Skype too.
When you try photo sphere, it says sorry not supported with front camera.

the strange thing is, you would think panoramic shot wouldnt work, yet in the cam effects pre-4.2 you can use panoramic efect albeit frontcam only, it did work thou.
i think photsphere from front cam, while your in the middle of the shot with the world spinning around you would be a great effect anyways.

You lost me at "Acer". And I hope you realize this is a general "4.2 Google Apps" statement, not something Asus did.

yes,but i don't see anything change
could anyone share the zip please?i get 404 error and i want to try something
Please download from this link
https://www.box.com/s/artgh60kcgcvh78f5t7s
As already mentioned, I don't find any improvement with the camera, namely focus!
edit: The mod was not installed by CWM, I had to do it manually.
Please note that this zip file must be installed with TWRP, if you have CWM installer it won't work and you need to install the media_profiles.xml file manually.
Installed this as well but don't know if I see any difference or not
Hey plz can someone upload the official camera apk of oppo find 7a ! I would like to use it on other devices !
It won't work, most probably.
Download ROM file, extract camera Oppo and his librairies and try to test on your device...
Since I created a topic with the camera apk some time ago and it's just a few topics below this one, I consider that solution unnecessary...
Download the Nexus5/oneplus one camera apk... Works pretty good w/CM11 and Find7
Even better, try the Lenovo Super Camera.

Dunno. It has a ton of features, and includes a gallery. Originally it had some reading-sms permissions, a popup thing and a QR code reader, which have been removed.
is the google camera app any good? I have heard mixed reviews

It's not too bad, but zoom on it has been horrible in my experience. Very pixelated.
