Sprint or T-mobile which 1 works on Vodafone - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I would like to buy a TP2 in the US. Which carrier should I buy the pgone from that will be unlocked and will workf on 3G/HSDPA for Vodafone network(UK)

phone choice
I'd go with the Verizon model
CDMA network:
Dual-band 800/1900 MHz
CDMA2000 1xRTT/1xEVDO/1xEVDO rev. A and IS-95A/B voice or data with up to 1.8 Mbps
up-link and 3.1 Mbps down-link speeds
GSM network:
2100 MHz HSPA/WCDMA with up to 2 Mbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds
Quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GPRS/EDGE
(Band frequency, HSPA availability, and data speed are operator dependent.)
It's also the easiest to get SIM unlocked should you decide to use is for GSM in the US.
Nate

Thanks for the fast feedback, but how will I unlock the sim because i've been reading the forum and it seems to make the phone work on all networks - it is still in progress?

Touch Pro 2 T7381 on Rogers 3G?

Hi guys,
I've been reading up on Rogers 3G support and i understand that rogers uses 850MHz for their HSDPA am i correct in this assumption?
On that note would the Australian Touch Pro 2 T7381 work with Rogers 3G since it utilizes 850Mhz band for HSPA?
This is the network specs of the phone
Network
HSPA/WCDMA:
Australia & USA: 850/2100 MHz (Fully support Telstra Next G Networks)
Up to 2 Mbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
Europe/Asia: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz (Band frequency, HSPA availability, and data speed are operator dependent.)
Keeping in mind that this phone doesnt support Rogers HSUPA on 1900MHz which i am lead to believe is Rogers 3G uplink frequency
Mine works on AT&T
My 7381 from Telstra in Oz works a-ok on AT&T 3-G. I think all of North America has the same network specs...
Hi there,
I just bought that phone from Australia and I am 99% sure the 3G will work with Rogers/Fido.
@ craiglevett
Ohh awesome... i'll await to see how yours works out
how much did you pay for for yours? the cheapest i've seen it for is $687 CAD
I think it will work according to wikipedia, rogers uses 850 MHz.
UMTS/HSPA on the 850 MHz band (Also known as 3G GSM)
let me know if it works, I'm planning to buy it as well..
Get the AT&T Tilt 2 instead, it will cost you half as much and will also support the 1900MHz band.

I don't like the keyboard layout though, I like having dedicated number keys. Aso, it's not half, it's about the same...
yeah the tilt 2 keyboard layout is ghetto... they've totally ruined the phone by have it in that layout and in blue colour. What were they thinking?

Setting up phone for AT&T

So I busted my AT&T tilt2, fell off my car and kinda exploded and so I bought one on Ebay...
I got it working data and voice on AT&T, but it only shows Edge not 3G.
Can I flash the stock AT&T ROM on this thing and get my 3G and basically make it like my stock AT&T phone?? This one was a U.S. Cellular phone.
Or do I need to do something more in depth?
Hmm seems the US cellular phone bands are not compatible with AT&T 3G from reading a bunch of searches. Is it compatible with T-mobile?
Phone is a bit diff than my tilt2.. Has a normal headphone jack beside the mini usb port, no PTT button and a few other differences.
On another note the Edge internet seems as fast as I usually get from 3G, I guess maybe less folks using edge.. Since edge is all I get at my other property anyway I guess I'll stick with it for now. Don't want to change anything as I'm grandfathered on the unlimited PDA personal plan, will see what happens with the new windows 7 phones and newer android phones..
If you want 3g speeds you need to have a tilt 2.. fairly certain

HTC One X USA Users

So the users that are going to use this device in the USA on AT&T or T-Mobile, where are you purchasing your device from in the states?
Also does anyone know if I were to use it on AT&T will I have to change the cellular settings or will the device pick up default settings on first boot. I remember there were different APN settings for AT&T and an unlocked device to give it access to faster DL speeds. Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance.
I also would like to know if the international version of One X is HSPA+ 42 mbps capable with T-mobile US?
Sent from my Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
No, it's not compatible with T-Mobile US 4G unless you're lucky enough to live in one of the few places where they're using 1900MHz. It'll work with AT&T data roaming at 4G, and it'll work as 2G on T-Mob's own network.
HTC ONE X specs from phone arena:
GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz
Data HSDPA+ (4G) 21.1 Mbit/s, HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS
UMTS on AT&T works at 850 and 1900 MHz so should be fine, I am not sure about t-mobile. it might work at 1700-2100 so could be kind of a problem...
regarding my personal experience, I have a european desire hd (on at&t), and in the bay area (SF) it gets no more than EDGE connection (I saw 3G icon couple of times ). However Desire HD doesn't work at 850 and 1900 MHz, whereas One X does so... should be fine on at&t.

Yep, as I said, there is no 4G on T-Mobile unless you roam to AT&T, or you're in one of a very small number of places in California where they've started using 1900MHz for T-Mob.

[Q] Unlocked Bell Gs3 on T Mobile

I have a bell GS3 that is unlocked can I use a t mobile sim card in it and get the 3g data or is AT& T the only one that works?
The Bell site says the GS3 supports the following:
HSPA/UMTS compatibility
UMTS 850/1900/2100 MHz
GPRS/EDGE compatibility
850/900/1800/1900MHz
and according to wikipedia T mobile USA has these:
850 MHz/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA
1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G .
1700 MHz UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ 3G/4G
1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ 3G/4G
1700 MHz LTE
So I am fairly certain that as long as the area I am in is serviced by that 1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA I should be fine right? Obviously no LTE speeds buts thats ok I dont even use it as home since it is such a battery pig.
anyone have some input it would be greatly appreciated?
I have a att gs3 which I unlocked and now using on T-Mobile, it works good but a lot of times it switches to edge when there is 4g available. I believe there is a way to fix it by flashing t mobile radio but I dont want to brick my phone so I havent tried.

ARC S - LT18i usage with US frequencies, which provider

We (Austrian family) are about making a trip to the US (NYC, PHX, Grand Canyon, Tuba, Page, Kanab, LAS, SFO, LAX) and I am wondering which telephone provider / mobile plan I should choose regarding 3G data.
I think the ARC S LT18i has 3G in the bands 900 and 2100 (no AWS).
Band....frequency....Uplink...........Downlink
I...........2100......... 1920–1980.....2110–2170
VIII.........900............880–915,,,,,,,,,925–960
f-Bands UMTS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands
Following Infos from http://prepaidwithdata.wikia.com/wiki/USA
AT&T:
2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE): 850 and 1900 MHz
3G (UMTS/HSPA): 850 and 1900 MHz
4G (LTE): 700 and 1700/2100 MHz(AWS)
T-Mobile:
4G & 3G speeds require your phone to support AWS UMTS (1700/2100 Mhz), otherwise you will only get 2.5G EDGE (requires 1900 MHz GSM PCS supported phone).
2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE): 850 and 1900 MHz
3G (UMTS/HSPA): 1700 and 1900 MHz
4G (LTE): 1700 MHz
Readysim: uses T-Mobile ???

1. Does this mean I wont have 3G, not even EDGE with any of them ? only 2G EDGE ?
I think the worst part of our trip regarding coverage will be from Grand Canyon to Las Vegas.
2. Which provider would you suggest ?
