Its already for a week that i'm getting this error.
I tired everything.
I deleted and re created the setting, but nothing help, every time i'm trying to sync my HD HTC i'm getting this error.

PLEASE PLEASE CAN someone help me. I download the latest ROM from www.o2.co.uk/xda (Xda_II_172181) I also downloaded the instructions and followed it word for word. When i got to the stage to click on 'UPGRADE'. All seemed ok, but sudendly i got an error message saying there was a problem i had to disconnect my device from the cradle and reset and start again, so i did exactly this, but now i get the error message i get is >>>>
"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again."

I went back to the O2 site and downloaded the same ROM again and attempted to load it, again following the instructions given by O2 and got exactly the same error message. I have given my XDA II a hard reset but all i get on the display is 'USB V1.03' I cannot connect to ActiveSync, can anyone please offer me any advice.

Thank you sooooo much dcs, i downloaded your copy of the rom and its now working perfectly fine, once again i really apprectiate your help. i AM so happy now
just need to install all my apps.
DCS, just a quick question does the True Fax software work with this new rom, i could never get it working with my previous rom

I've successfully update the 1.72 Rom for my XDAII but my previous backup was not successful!! is it because different rom? The Hong Kong O2 told me to do a backup first, but after upgrade it seems that my previous Rom 1.62 doesnt' support... is that the case? :shock:
OK I admit, I tried to change my Artemis, and it failed.
So I wanted to put back the original software from the wiki page. But when I wanted to download the HTC WM6 Netherlands. I get "Please enter password" or otherwise "no permissions to read file".
Could someone please explain what is going on ???

Solved, Need some sleep urgently
OK, Call it Friday blues, or not being awake anymore as I should be. Got the problem solved. Should have read the thread first before jumping big time on the wagon. File is downloading as I type this reply, and hopefully my Artemis will be back functioning as before in a nick of time.

I'm new at posting here so I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I usually come here for answers to my G1 questions but have never needed to post before (yes, I'm a lurker).
Basically, after drunkenly failing to pattern unlock my phone, I pressed 'forgot pattern' and was brought to the Gmail sign in/unlock screen.
The problem is that it keeps saying my username or password are invalid but they're not!
I checked by logging into gmail on my PC and nothing has changed.
I tried 'username', '[email protected]' and [email protected]' to no avail.
I have a UK model and have rooted it using Jesusfreke's RC8 then the update to RC9 using Moussam's root app.
I don't really want to have to wipe my phone but will do so if necessary; I was just hoping someone could tell me why its not accepting my details!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It has been while for me on this site - since the i-mate days. I got an HTC desire with the latest software 2.2. I am trying to root it but it is failing with the above error message.
I downgraded it using the PB99IMG, created the goldcard, but every time I get to the step1-windows.bat it fails with the error message "43 main version check failed".
I tried the procedures several times from a couple of sources, I also tried both r5-desire-root-alt and r6-desire-root-alt but it always fails at the same point.
I also tried 2 different microSDs including the SanDisk but no success.
Can anyone help explain what this message means?

I don't know about this message, but if your HBOOT is 0.80 (reboot phone with volume down key pressed to enter bootloader and then read the 3 or 4 first lines, there is your HBOOT version, something like 0.xxxxxxxxx), why don't you try unrEVOked3? Before trying it, uninstall HTC Sync, install the HTC drivers as explain in the read me or how to guide.
If it's 0.92 or 93, try this. Brother, next time please use the search function of this forum.

I used C4tech method to root 7a, everything wasgoing great, saying successful at each step, then when I booted it up to check root the phone is stuck at welcome screen saying, " "Unfortunately, settings has stopped". Hay, I have the same problem. I my phone is a x9007. I have been at this for about a week now. I am in China and getting any help here....fuggid-about it. I thought that it was stopping at the "settings" because all the Google blocks. I managed to get an international version of ColorOs to load, I get to the settings via the wifi screen and navigate from there. I thought the freedom of Android was that you could access everything and change explore ways to custom set up your phone etc. So far I have hours of research and stress and haven't used it for anything else. I really hate that I spent money I worked hard for for this. I am a teacher not a developer. I got the phone to serve me and my students. So far I am serving the development of this phone and the sales and marketing game. Is there anyone who can help me get past this frustration.Just getting windows 7 to recognize this monster was a nightmare. It seems to be an arbitrary process. I have had to install super SU twice, I attempted to flash CM11s- says it will not on this device, but briefly flashed the color theme in the attempt. Like "Leyebound's comment and plea, can I please get some advice-help, I need this phone...to work.
