Has anyone seen this on any version of the TP2?
User reports that when he selects the Full QWERTY keyboard it just shows the number keypad with the P and W buttons. This is the keypad that shows when entering a phone number in the HTC Contacts app.
I have seen this on a stock HTC TP2 and on an AT&T Tilt 2. The only fix so far is hard reset which is not too desireable.
I have the same problem. Any solution found yet?

1) Does the HTC S620 have xT9 text input? If not can it be installed somehow?
2) The dash allows numbers to be entered by holding down the number keys. The S620 does not appear to do this. Can it be enabled?
1) It doesn't, but there was a cab file on here before. You'll have to search to see if it's still available.
2) No, it's rom based which means you'll need the T-mobile rom.
Does the 620 have any T9 at all?
Nope, it's a QWERTY and most Dash users hate xT9 anyways.
Hi! I'm sure there must be a way to assign i780' keys to contacts, as it works on my old treo 750, so long pressing that key from Today Screen will phone the assigned contact (usually known as SpeedDial on Treos)
I know it's possible with the numbers, but it's not enough.
Does anybody know what aplication works this way?
thanks!
Hi all....
I am planning to purchase a touch pro 2 in the next couple of days... however there is something I need to find out... does the device come with a on screen 'normal' phone keypad[1-9] which allows you to input T9(XT9) sms like what they have on the touch diamond 2/touch HD?.... I have checked a couple of reviews and the answer that I got was sadly to say yes and no...
can anyone please help with this...
thanks for eveyone's help....
yes there is phone keypad option. default is qwerty keyboard but you can change to phone keypad.
The phone interface doesn't have a T9 like phone keypad.
But, as powersquad says, the messaging interface does.
And you can turn T9 on and off.
Notice you'll change the default: When you change the keyboard to the phone keypad, it will also be the default for email, Word, etc.
But then you'll use the hardware keyboard, don't you
And if it isn't standard you can download a million different types of keyboards ...
Hi,
since I upgraded my TP2 ROM with the WinMo6.5 from HTC I encountered two issues which really make me regret this from time to time:
On incoming calls very often the caller name is not displayed even if the phone number is known in my address book. Also in call history i just see numbers, not names. This worked perfectly in 6.0.
When I receive a call, i press "take call" but the phone simply wont take it. Instead it silences the ringtone but there is no chance I take the call.
I searched the forum but couldn't find anything that would help. There was some registry entry about setting the size of phone numbers which should fix problem one, but the issue here is, that German phone numbers don't have any fixed size, so the suggested fix is not working. Also I'd wonder why I have to set something up when just the same thing worked perfectly in 6.0. As for the more annoying "can't take call" thingy, i am absolutely clueless. Has anyone of you encountered these issues before and if so, were you able to fix them?
I can't find the link readily but I thought I remember reading that adding (or removing) the "+" in front of phone numbers in your contacts helped the first issue.
Hey guys,
Whenever I am trying to enter information into forms (like adding a new contact, adding a phone number...) when I click on a field, the software keyboard pops up. When I start typing on the hardware keyboard the software keyboard hides away and everything is fine.
The problem is when you type on one of the bottom one or two fields and the screen has to scroll when the software keyboard comes up. For some reason when you start typing on the hardware keyboard, the field loses focus and you can't type. I hate having to use the software keyboard to type stuff. Does anyone know how to fix this?
To reproduce this go to People Tab > All People > New (add new contact) > Add Number (I know there is a text field there but sometimes you want to change the type of the number) > then try typing the phone number into the phone number box with the hardware keyboard.
