My P3300 fell down today... and the screen won't turn on :'( but the thing is.. the touchscreen works perfectly!
Using My Mobiler I can see that when I touch the screen it works as usual, althought the display seems to be turned off (no backlight). Any ideas on how to fix it? or should i just get a new display?
I have an old Qtek S100, can I use it's display for the Artemis?
Thanks!
no you can not.
jam jamin k-jam jasjam uses same lcd produced by toppoly or samsung. two types.
artemis uses totally different. hitachi is producer for artemis.
htc gene p3400
artemis, love P3300 P3350
and HP 614C uses same LCD. 614C uses a newer version of it. They are compatitable but HP 614C lcd is twice expensive. find orginal p3400 p3300 lcd.

Hi,
I'm pretty much new to this, but I recently bought a Qtek 9090.
I want to make a DIY carkit for it and found this very usefull info.
The thing is: is the 22pin connector at the bottom on my device (Blue Angel) the same (and same pin-setup) as the Himalaya?
Thanks!

SX66 without Camera - Upgrade?
Hello, i've got a cingular SX66 which has been built without Camera. If i open the phone, i find the place for it on the motherboard. Does any one know if it is possible to upgrade this cameraless? If there would be really difficult changes to perform on the motherboard, it's of course simpler to just buy some new BA.
The phone runs with D-Two's WM6.5.5Multilang.
O.K., solved it.
Took the camera off a destroyed MDAIII and its backcover,
connector for flex was present on mainboard;
not working. Flashed WM6.5.5- not working.
Downgraded to WM2003, reflashed again WM6.5.5:
and now everything works fine
...but now switched back to my original backcover.
Hole for the lens is 2,5mm smaller than original;
sealing from sparecover you can see in attched pic up left,
switched button unit, so my SX66 now has a camera- instead of media-button
Hi. I'm selling my XDA EXEC soon so i can buy a smaller pocket PC. I really like the look of the Artemis/Orbit but i can't decide which one to get. I was all set to buy the the Orbit but now after seeing a couple of YouTube vids i'm starting to change my mind. To me the Artemis looks a bit smaller but i can't really tell, any suggestions?
Also as i said previously i'm getting rid of my EXEC, if anybody wants it here is the description:
6 month old XDA EXEC which is in great condition and has had a screen protector on it from day one. Also i'm throwing in my Bluetooth GPS box with it's wall charger and car charger. Also i have a in car holder for the EXEC as well. I'm also including a 2GB SD card with the phone!
Exec has TOMTOM installed on it as well as some games (virtual pool and monkey islands games etc). Also got a stylus with a pen in it!!!
The ROM is a bit on the old side so i can upgrade it before sending it out or leave it as is.
£300 Or nearest offer.
I accept PAYPAL and if u wanna check my ebay account it's called shun_di12 (100% positive and 100 feedback!!)

The P3300 and Orbit are the same size according to the official specs for both (H 108, W 58, D 16.8).
We had the Artemis, Orbit and MDA Compact-III together earlier today, they are all the same size, the different colour gives the illusion of differing size but they are the same.
The screen size is small (well compared to an Exec) - but you can carry the Artemis and MDA in the same shirt pocket and combined they weigh less than my Exec, the screen resolution and contrast on the HTC units is very good, although in the car you can get quite a mirror effect from it under certain lighting conditions, you can reduce this through the use of the screen protection film to some extent, very nice devices though.
Big plus point with the P3300 Artemis you get the pre-installed TomTom Navigator software (correct version for the device), a car decent car charger (although I would prefer the un-coiled style) and a good quality car holder/ mount that will tilt/ Swivel - Mike
Thanks for the replies guys. I went into the T-mobile and O2 stores today to have a proper look. I've decided to get the Artemis/P3300 version, quick question though is the only difference between the MDA compact III and P3300 the logo? On ebay.co.uk there aren't any HTC models at the moment, only T-mobile ones!
No the T-Mobile unit doesn't have WiFi on board and it isn't supplied with Pocket MSN, car charger, holder etc - if you don't need the WiFi then its a good bit of kit - Mike
Thanks for the heads up mike. I almost bought a compact iii recently. Having WiFi would be nice as i'm used to having it on my EXEC. I'm thinking about importing one from America as there seems to be loads of HTC ones over there. If I import one will it be alright to use over here (assuming it's unlocked) on the T-mobile UK network? And am i right in thinking i would have to buy an english AC adaptor?
Those who tried both of them, what you'd say about difference in battery life (esspecialy regarding gps usage)? Which pda lasts longer?
Is there any difference regarding gsm ? Are they having both the same signal, and is there difference with mic and speakers? There were some complains about too low volume of speaker and phone ringing with g500. Is that true?
Eten G500 <> Artemis
Hi,
I sold my Eten G500 for a HTC P3300 and i don't regret it one moment. G500 has a nice design with blue leds, but the newer models are very clumsy models.
The speaker & sound quality of the Eten were indeed very bad! Speaker at the back and very bad quality. Also the device was very heavy!
Now the P3300 is more like a smartphone, quality of sound = clear, loud, in one word superb (also with my qtek xda2i in past - same manufacturer).
The P3300 is a very light model, half the tickness & weight of the Eten.
It has a flashy blue trackball, internet connections via wifi G work fine when in car close to buildings with wifi on.
I started with a xda2i for gsm + wifi (with external gps receiver). Then got the Eten for the integrated gps receiver (only model at that time / hp model more like a calculator). And finally got the P3300.
It has everything I need now, normally I will stay with this model till it doesn't work anymore it's an all in one, don't need more functions at the moment.
Enjoy,
Innovator
hello,
has the himalaya, andes, alpine or wallaby the same touchscreen as the blue angel ? or maybe even the same LCD ?
can i replace a broken BA touchscreen by a touchscreen of another HTC device ?
