Those who tried both of them, what you'd say about difference in battery life (esspecialy regarding gps usage)? Which pda lasts longer?
Is there any difference regarding gsm ? Are they having both the same signal, and is there difference with mic and speakers? There were some complains about too low volume of speaker and phone ringing with g500. Is that true?
Eten G500 <> Artemis
Hi,
I sold my Eten G500 for a HTC P3300 and i don't regret it one moment. G500 has a nice design with blue leds, but the newer models are very clumsy models.
The speaker & sound quality of the Eten were indeed very bad! Speaker at the back and very bad quality. Also the device was very heavy!
Now the P3300 is more like a smartphone, quality of sound = clear, loud, in one word superb (also with my qtek xda2i in past - same manufacturer).
The P3300 is a very light model, half the tickness & weight of the Eten.
It has a flashy blue trackball, internet connections via wifi G work fine when in car close to buildings with wifi on.
I started with a xda2i for gsm + wifi (with external gps receiver). Then got the Eten for the integrated gps receiver (only model at that time / hp model more like a calculator). And finally got the P3300.
It has everything I need now, normally I will stay with this model till it doesn't work anymore it's an all in one, don't need more functions at the moment.
Enjoy,
Innovator

People compain that they do not hear me...
this goes for the internal microphone unless i hold the QTEK horizontally (microphone neat mouth) og handsfree, unless I hold the microphone in front of my mouth.
during recording, the internal microphone is very sensitive and just fine.
how can I make it that sensitive when using the phone ?
Start -> Settings -> System -> Microphone AGC
Play around with this one, and see if it gets any better..
If not, buy a BT handsfree?
no, I (we) know for a fact that this setting have nothing to do with Phone-mode, *only* recording.
sorry, read my last post is a big problem of Qtek 9090
no solution the 9090 only works with the headset bluetooth
I returned my 9090 and took a 2020 !!
read other post in this forum and other forum, many people say the same... the 9090 phone is very bugged !!!!
french, spain, netherland and more country user have the same problem.
try once to hold your phone in the other hand ;-) ... i had people complaining about my spv m2000 being too silent and then i discovered, that i covered the little microphone hole which is a littlebit towards an edge and not excatually in the middle of the phone... so i concentrated on not covering the hole anymore and never had anybody complain about the volume since..
cheers

Mic too quiet
I've got the same problem as the original poster - on a Blue Angel XDA IIs.
I agree that the AGC works for the voice recording (and does a crystal clear job too) but for standard voice calls it's getting on for being as deaf as a doorpost.
Surely one of you techies has found a way of implementing the AGC function for voice calls :?:
Same problem. The problem doesn't appear every time. Using the headset doesn't fix the problem.
I'm very disappointed, the 9090 is great, but is not a phone. I'll maybe change with a treo 650...

newer units seem to be fixed
I just received my Cingular Siemens SX66 Monday, and the microphone issue seems to have been resolved in the newer units. Don't know what was changed, but I have used the phone in both speakerphone and held to ear modes and everyone says I am coming thru almost with wired quality. Maybe HTC and Siemens took the extra time to market to fix some of the early production issues. I also find the build quality to be excellent on my unit.

Hello,
I have just upgraded from an XDAII to an Orange SPV M2000.
First impressions are generally quite good. One huge problem I am having though is that my Jabra 250 BT headset that works absolutely fine on my XDAII, works terribly on the M2000. The connection is incredibly crackly to the point of it being unusable.
The same headset works fine again when I revert it back to the XDAII. I have even tried turning off encryption on the M2000.
Is it possible that because the bluetooth software on the M2000 is completely different to that on the O2 XDAII, that this could be part of the problem?
Grateful for any advice.
Thanks!
Howdy,
I have the same probs with Jabra 250 and MDA III @ 1.6.1, Broadcom Build 1900.
up to 40 centimeters, everything is ok with a free line of sight
it still works up to some meters, but is indeed unusable.
bought it at MediaMarkt, so they'll get it back.
D'you think it's a headset problem or a general problem with the bluetooth on the phone.
I find that Activesync over bluetooth does not work at anywhere near the same range I was getting with my XDAII
Can you let me know if you have better luck with any other headset.
Incidentally, I note with the Jabra that when it is connected, you can click and hold down on the Jabra paired device and bring up the status which shows connection strength. It fluctuates greatly between the weakest and the "Just Right" marks - which might explain why it so crackly.
MY BT Headset experience
I have been trying out some BT Headsets for my MDA III T-mobile Austrian edition and here are the results:
Jabra BT 250: The connection was cracking the whole time even when the phone was next to the headset. It is really comfortable when using it. VERDICT: Not usable.
Ericsson HBH 35: No cracking, great sound quality but would stop working after few minutes of inactivity. Turning BT on the MDA off and then on would make it work again. VERDICT: Usable but the inactivity thing really bugs me
Motorola HS-820: The same problems as HBH35 although the sound quality was somehow inferior to HBH35. VERDICT: same as HBH35.
Motorola HS-810: Works well, less disconnection problems than HBH35/HS-820 but still unpredictible/unreliable. The sound was barely hearable in noisy envoironments due to the desing of the headset. VERDICT: only headset that works more or less OK with the MDA III's current BT Stack. But only usable in the car or in a somewhat quiet environment.
Overall, wait for the BT fix. I've returned all the headsets until I can use one without problems.
Thanks for your reply.
Is the BT fix going to be unique to the service provider or will it be a Broadcom generic fix?
For example, I have the Orange SPV M2000 - would I be able to use whatever fix comes out for the MDA III or do I need to wait for Orange UK to release a fix specifically for their flavour of Blueangel.
Thanks!
I've been living with this cracking sound from the Jabra (paired to my XDA2) for almost a year now!
I'm currently thinking about buying a bluetooth car kit for my M2000, but don't know whether to get a cheap one (Nokia CK7W etc) or go the whole hog and get a Parrot one.
I would like to know of current users recommendations before I splash out on one.
Did you choose a kit in the end? If so what did you go for?
Got a Parrot CK3100, worked fine, only bugbear is when you get a call with a witheld number, the last recieved number is displayed on caller ID.
Battery life is alright, used it with full charge from 21:30 till approx 14:00 next day.
Would recommend, I've tried using Nokia B/T car kits and the echo is terrible, the Parrot is really good.
We had to uninstall a load of Nokia kits that O2 had originally recommended, the outgoing sound quality is awful (a bit like you've got your head in a bucket in the next room!!).
We ended up with Sony Ericsson kits, much better

Yeah I've got the Nokia problem, looks like I'm going to go for a Parrot CK3300 with the integrated GPS.

I am considering the CK3100 also, question does the display show signal strength, carrier etc?
Thank you
The Parrot website shows compatibility etc.... take alook. Can't remember what the address is, a search will out it!

I have read the compatability guide however my experience with Parrot is no matter what the guide says it may not be 100% functional. This is why I would rather ask someone that actually uses the product.
parrot are best for qtek if 3000 evolution without display or 3100 with display. i have qtek s100 with parrot ck3300 an destinator pn an all works fine.

Hi! Just want to know which bluetooth headsets are compatible with PDA2K. I spent a lot of time in the shop yesterday, but for the life of me, I couldn't get the SE HBH-600 or the Nokia HDW-2 to work with it.
The HBH-600 got paired, but as soon as a call connected, the audio was switched to the handset, with the headset being disconnected. As soon as the call was dropped, the connection to the headset was resumed.
As for the HDW-2, I couldn't get it to connect. I really need a bluetooth headset pronto, because of the incidences of cellphone-snatching here in Karachi, so please could you guys help me out ASAP? Thanks in advance!
Hi There,
I use the Jabra 250 without any problems
Cheers
Pointy
I have tried 4 different headsets with the Blue Angel.
The current winner is the Cardo Scala 500...which is nice because its also the cheapest.
I'm using the older Sony Ericsson HBH-35 with mine and seems to work just fine. My only problems are that the battery on this one is dying a bit lately, but that's hardly the phones fault!
I am using the G2 Bluetrek as sold in O2 shops under the O2 brand.
Works...intemittently...sometimes great - sometimes very noisy - sometimes it looses connection! I also find that it seems to go to the highest volume setting at the start of every call which hurts my ears!

Well I have been using a Plantronics M3000 on BT Builds 3500 and then 3900 without any problems
Hallo!
I am using SE HBH 300, works fine with BT Builds 3500.
My older BT-headset Jabra 300 did´not worked, (could not answer 90% of the calls)
/M
Hi.
Im using the HBH 600 with both BT Build 3500 & 3900.
I dont experience any troubles with the 3900 build, only the poor range and sometimes a little crackling sound, but this seems to be the same for all BT headsets with the BA.
You can get the Build 3900 from the ftp in BlueAngel/Cab_files/Bluetooth Upgrades/bt3900.cab
I am using the Nextlink Bluespoon AX. Works fine for me.

I have a Sony Ericsson HBH-660 Akono and works great (except for the fact that the headset's display just shows the number and not the name...)
Joao Caldeira
I'm using the Jabra BT800, and it works perfectly, except for the caller ID showing just the number, and an annoying amount of static when going through an solid object (like my head :roll.
This is with bluetooth build 3500, and all the other headsets I've tried with this phone (SE HBH-65, HBH-300) have exhibited exactly the same problems with static through objects... would appear that the phone isn't giving the signal enough juice, or something? :?
Chris
Just took my old G2 to the O2 store and complained about it being so crap. They replaced it with a new O2 (Bluetrek?) one. Inital opinion is that it is a little better but not a lot - still noisy and complaints of it sounding bad from the other end.....
I'm using the Motorola HS810 and it works just great, actually after a soft reset the volume on the headset is too loud !
HBH-65 seems to work ok for me.
bosjo, it's good to hear that you have got the HBH-600 working. I am unable to do so. I had build 3500, but upgraded to 3900 after reading your post. Still no difference. I had noticed before that when I monitored the headset connection using Bluetooth Manager -> Active Connections, the status would be showing me a full signal, and intermittently, it would become red, meaning that the signal would keep going to zero, and coming back to full. This was even when the phone was hardly 6 inches away from the headset, in line of sight. I'm going to return my bluetooth headset tomorrow, and I wonder if I should get my handset replaced as well. I'm worried that since the problem wasn't fixed by the 3900 build, something may be wrong with my bluetooth radio hardware. Anyways, I am open to suggestions.
Look @ this... might help

I have a Bluespoon AX that works perfectly!!
Before that I had a Nokia HDW-2, it worked good too!
Hi all,
It seems the Nextlink Bluespoon AX gets a good press here with the XDA2s - so, where did you guys buy yours???
R
I'm using a bluespoon ax but mine definitely has that crackling sound. I'm using 1.0.0.3900. However, it's definitely not the headset because I've tried it with a magician and it works absolutely fine - friends told me it sounded the same as if I was speaking through the phone.
Sounds like the XDA2s bt stack still needs a lot of work - lets hope a rom upgrade comes out soon which mproves it - there realy is no excuse O2!!!

Hi, what is the best BLUETOOTH Headset to use with my new HTC Charmer ( MDA Compact II)??????
Any ideas?
I myself am using a 'Plantronics 640 Discovery' and am more than happy with it!
(just got 2nd one becaouse I drove over my first last week :? )
Ditto...Plantronics 640 works great with this phone
Mine worked great but this BTH does not support long distance and I find the phone needs to stay in arms reach. Works flawlessly otherwise.
Only problem is it is so small and light that I keep loosing it..still not found! Needs some way to track it!
Michael
what is a 'long distance' in your definition?
I was astounded beeing in the bathroom still on the fone realising my phone was in the living-room (3 rooms between - about 20 meters)
Any brand that can run the Headset profile (listen to any sound from device by single ear BT Headset) with Charmer / Compact II\
Thx
I had a BT250v and could not have it farther than on my body with out breaking up. Is there one that has better range than that?
