Any chance we can just take the new eclair lockscreen and use it standalone? without the theme with it?

I dont think its exactly the same but

Same request here.. I already posted here and Q&A as well as the theme section... let's see whos gonna save us.
the link which is an eclair lockscreen theme (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577651) is just the wallpaper of the lockscreen on the droid. I thought to unlock it you spin the dial but insted you press Menu. i guess we have to wait until 2.0 comes out and cyanogen ports it and hopefully it has the dial motion unlock screen
I use LockBot free, you can find it on the market. Just install it then open it and tap on mytheme, then delete Iphone and Hero lockscrenn... now you have Eclair lockscreen full working!!!
P.S. sorry for bad english
re
lockbot pro is not stable.
not at all!
fc's all the time and gives my eris a 5 sec delay. de-installed ASAP!
Been using LockBot Free for almost 2 months now. myTouch with Dwang's latest. So far so good, needs to force kill it sometime because it disabled my notification bar. Worked fine after reloading the app.
lockbot is very stable for my htc magic 32A. maybe the additional ram helps. no lag and doesnt do any weird stuff. recently they just udpated it with the "flan" lock screen. so now there's hero, iphone, eclair, and flan. very nice. it also has the correct animation for each lock screen. so for eclair, it can actually rotate one way for unlock, the other way for silent/vibrate. and unlike Lock2.0, you cannot bypass the lockscreen by pressing the menu key or long pressing the home button.
LockBot has a problem with notification bar, but I think it's only if you put it in full screen. Also it messes the time of my Home Widget that stays behind the real time.
LockBot Pro...working great!!
after some updates...LockBot Pro is working great for me. No FC at all, the dev is really good responding to issues. It has the Lock screen from Adroid 2.0.1. Waiting for it to be integrated in with the dialer so it will show incoming call with lock screen. don't know if that will ever happen. using dwang 1.17.1..fast and stable...its become "old faithful".
I also recommend lockbot free or pro. The ratings are too low because the c*nts don't know how to read and use an app before rating it.
lockbot always goes to the homescreen though
Thanks for the lockbot tip. Awesome little tool!

The HTC SENSE slide up and down is driving me nuts when i carry my phone in my pocket i either answer or decline the call before i even see who it is.....
Ive searched countless forums for a Vanilla Slide to Answer just like the Slide to Unlock/ringer Slide and with no luck have i come across such mod..
Can any devs look into this or possibly point me in the right direction thanks
I believe the slide to answer/decline is part of the Phone.apk tied to Sense. A possible solution would be to try the AOSP Phone.apk but i'm not 100% if it will work.

Thanks i'll look into that.....
Got the same issue and it also drives me nuts. Idiotic design.
I think you just use Root Explorer to delete /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk, then reboot. I've done it before.

nm the attached zip is just for lockscreen, not calls.
I was running Caulkins new rom and he has a different slide to answer lockscreen, so it can be done
Would really love to see this mod. The current design is absolutely idiotic. Cm6 currently had it. By just installing the aosp dialer does not give you this lock screen.

I'm tired of hanging up on people whenever i pull the phone out of my pocket, is what your requesting able to fix that?
I haven't found anything on changing the Call Slide to Answer Function without changing to another rom..... Would love to see a Signed or ADB Push way to do it to a Deodexed or Odexed Rom.....
Currently using the Newest OTA Odexed with Vanilla Lockscreen
Now if we could get a DEV to just make the Call Slide to Answer i and a few others would be very Grateful.....
But in the Meantime i will continue to search
Check out an app in the market called WidgetLocker. It replaces the lock screen and not only allows you to add widgets and shortcuts making the lockscreen a usuable screen, but you can select from sense slider, vanilla slider, iphone slider, and android rotary slider. It's the best app out there in my opinion.
Edit: you can set it to put itself in front of the call screen so that you need to unlock before you can slide to answer thus preventing unwanted answering.

I can confirm this does work but as the OP says, it's not ideal. If you try it out you'll see it's not all that elegant. Would be sweet if someone smarter than me could come up with a way to do it right.
If your rooted, go to Titanium Backup and uninstall the apk "htcsenselock". After uninstalled reboot your phone and you are in business. You will still have sense minus the annoying lock screen.
Edit:
Scratch that, it only changes the normal screen unlock...not the phone answer unlock.

Don't let this die!!
srsly! BUMP!
I hate this stupid slide up/down to unlock BS!
Guess no one can do this
yea this sucks man I either want to get rid of it or find out which file is it that you remove or edit so I can make my own slide to answer .png
This is one of the only reasons I've dropped my Sense roms and migrated to CM6. After using it for a few days and many hours of tweaking it with themes and widgets, it's nearly back looking like an HTC and not a G1 but with the super sexy vanilla lock.
Just delete HTCLockScreen.apk and you'll have a horizontal vanilla slider lock screen.
Hey
I got the Widgetlocker Lockscreen for my desire. I also use Launcher Pro (dont know if its relevant). So when it is in standby and i wanna unlock it firstly i see the regular Sense-Lockscreen for about 1-2 sec. After that long peroid of time the widgetlocker begins to start... what could i do against it? My Desire is rooted.

Hi,
I have the same setup but no issue in delay... very once in a while I see the default unlock screen for a blink of a second but nothing compared to your description.
If you use a taskkiller, have you added widgetlocker to the exceptions?
Cheers
B
Download No lock from market and run it. This will disable the stock locker and allow Widgetlocker to run smoothly. Have been using it for months without issues.

Thanks dude, there is still a delay but nevermind cause dont see the normal lockscreen
Is there anyway to change this, to a slide bar or something?
Just come from a HD2 running stock desire rom and the current SGS2 one seems a bit...naff in comparison.
Try widgetlocker. Slide to unlock plus slide to any app

WidgetLocket works perfectly and when activated stops the default locker from appearing.

Adding the stock lockscreen is very complicated, requires editing of the framework.jar and android-services.jar aswell as framework res.
I will begin work on it once we have fully functional deodexed rom

Do you think you will be able to do it? Really don't like using bolt on lock screens like widgetlocker.
Depends how similar to the origional sgs the java files are. That's the complicated bit. Waiting on cwm for backups and deodexed rom, then work will begin

If you haven't given widget locker a go yet I would try it.
It's even better if you've rooted and increased your lcd density somewhat (192 seems good to me). I love being able to unlock straight to SMS, Email & camera, while being able to use torch mode without unlocking too... etc.
The old lock screen is still on in the background. Sometimes it flashes up when I unlock. Is it a bad idea to disable through Widget Locker?
I love widget locker, but I'm finding it a pain - my home button first start bypassing it, then when I figured that fix out, hold it down still activates the task manager grr
WidgetLocker is great - I've been using it for about a year but only found out the other day that you can get custom themes for the sliders, and because they're mostly just zipped up image files it was relatively easy to customise.

This is the 5 second problem. It's discussed in the Widget Locker documentation (and in the settings menus too).
If you root your phone you can get rid of it once and for all. Otherwise Homehelper is supposed to maybe help, but I never managed to completely get rid of the system lock screen till I rooted as you can't override the 5 second thing.

Okay. Planning on rooting my advice so may try that. Cheers. What is home helper? Do you mean root helper?
Widgetlocker on my O2 branded unrooted SG2 worked perfectly. However, now I have rooted it and flashed the unbranded firmware the home button overrides it meaning just pressing the home button twice unlocks the phone.
Anyone else with this issue? I have checked to make sure the option to allow the home button to unlock is unticked.
Edit - Ignore me, forgot the Homehelper needed to be set as default.

DO you think it would be possible to add Cyanogen's unlock screen (with rotary unlock and stuff) or would that be even harder ?
I would love to see the AOSP lock screen pop up on the SGS2.
my vote is the puzzle unlock from some sgs models.

That one is built into Widget Locker if you don't mind using that. Given the power and battery life on the phone I'm quite happy to do that. Although my resource reporting apps show Widget Locker as quite a hog.
I hate the Widget locker icon in the notification area. It makes me sad.
ok, I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756479 and there were some suggestions like the nolock app, wildpuzzle, etc.
I just got rid of cm7 and testing shooter's newest, and yea the 3.0 lock is slow and annoying, but rather than just removing, I would love the gesture feature that c7 offers. Is there any way/ app that can do that while not on the c7 rom?
I did search and haven't found anything yet.
Tnx
Since the lockring style lock screen is a feature of sense 3.0 and guestures are a feature of AOSP, you couldn't easily swap it out. Only a skilled developer(or group) could get this to work.
On another note, I did see an app that replaced your lock screen with one that has a gesture function...but I read reviews of it not being implemented well.
Sent from my supersonic using XDA App
There is an app (free in market) called no lock that works quite well for removing the lockscreen altogether.
I knew that back in the day on Sense 1.0 roms you could replace the Sense lockscreen with the AOSP one. I think you also had to switch out the clock so that you could dismiss alarms or something.
I never did this because I never run Sense, but I remember reading about it. I also don't know if it works on 3.0 roms, but it could be a place to start.
You could also try WidgetLocker. It doesn't have gesture support, but you can place sliders, shortcuts, and apps on the lockscreen. I know it's not what you're looking for, but it's a much easier solution & a nifty app as well.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Thanks guys. I used nolock in the past and the only issue is it does just that, it removes ALL security. So if I can't get the gesture, I would settle for a pin/pattern, etc. Even though I enable the pattern security, if nolock is enabled, it ignores that so it seems with a sense rom it's either ring + other security or nothing at all right?
Grrrr! Thanks
Hi all.
Been round here for a while now (loved my HD2) and have finally got my SGS II to where I want it.. But I have a really annoying issue I can't seem to get my head round.
I'm running basitas fox hound rom with go launcher and its trimmings.
My problem is this, I love go locker but I'm having issues with the home button unlocking to my desktop...
Kind of defeats the object if having a lockscreen all together..
Its there any way to disable this? I either want it to turn the screen on (ala power burton) or disable it if I have to...
I've been through the settings so many times now I'm going cross eyed lol
Any one with any words of wisdom?...
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
(apologies if this is in the wrong area
)
Thanks,
Wow...
Even a "I have the same issue" would of sufficed..
Never mind, just have to make do with the pattern lock then...
Thanks......
No issues here with go locker
Hi,
I use the go locker since I god my SGS2, but my home button doesn't unlock the phone.
Are you sure it's go locker's issue?
Maybe it's a feature of your rom?
Tried lots of roms with go locker all have the same issue, contacted go developers, they are sorting it out in future version
By the way also had an hd2, loved that phone
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Use Jkay ( uncheck double home click action) then enable Go locker.
Go locker will replace Jkay lockscreen and no more home button issue
However, when you restart phone, Jkay will be over Go locker for 1st time; meaning you have to unlock your phone twice. This will happen only after reboot( is ok for me). After that, everything is normal again
Note that after the 1st you lock the phone, its normal that you will see Jkay over Go locker. But after that, everything will OK. Try yourself then you understand what im talking about

Worked a treat! I thought I had it working for a while, must have ticked it by accident (thinking it would help the double home buttontap app to access the camera app direct)
