Go locker issue... - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hi all.
Been round here for a while now (loved my HD2) and have finally got my SGS II to where I want it.. But I have a really annoying issue I can't seem to get my head round.
I'm running basitas fox hound rom with go launcher and its trimmings.
My problem is this, I love go locker but I'm having issues with the home button unlocking to my desktop...
Kind of defeats the object if having a lockscreen all together..
Its there any way to disable this? I either want it to turn the screen on (ala power burton) or disable it if I have to...
I've been through the settings so many times now I'm going cross eyed lol
Any one with any words of wisdom?...
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
(apologies if this is in the wrong area
)
Thanks,

Wow...
Even a "I have the same issue" would of sufficed..
Never mind, just have to make do with the pattern lock then...
Thanks......

No issues here with go locker
Hi,
I use the go locker since I god my SGS2, but my home button doesn't unlock the phone.
Are you sure it's go locker's issue?
Maybe it's a feature of your rom?

Tried lots of roms with go locker all have the same issue, contacted go developers, they are sorting it out in future version
By the way also had an hd2, loved that phone

Use Jkay ( uncheck double home click action) then enable Go locker.
Go locker will replace Jkay lockscreen and no more home button issue
However, when you restart phone, Jkay will be over Go locker for 1st time; meaning you have to unlock your phone twice. This will happen only after reboot( is ok for me). After that, everything is normal again
Note that after the 1st you lock the phone, its normal that you will see Jkay over Go locker. But after that, everything will OK. Try yourself then you understand what im talking about

Saisuay, Thank you so much!
Worked a treat! I thought I had it working for a while, must have ticked it by accident (thinking it would help the double home buttontap app to access the camera app direct)
My Steam punk theme is complete! lol

Try Saisuay's method (If you have a rom with Jkay installed)

Lock screen

Is there anyway to change this, to a slide bar or something?
Just come from a HD2 running stock desire rom and the current SGS2 one seems a bit...naff in comparison.
Try widgetlocker. Slide to unlock plus slide to any app

WidgetLocket works perfectly and when activated stops the default locker from appearing.

Perfect, thanks
Adding the stock lockscreen is very complicated, requires editing of the framework.jar and android-services.jar aswell as framework res.
I will begin work on it once we have fully functional deodexed rom

Do you think you will be able to do it? Really don't like using bolt on lock screens like widgetlocker.
Depends how similar to the origional sgs the java files are. That's the complicated bit. Waiting on cwm for backups and deodexed rom, then work will begin

If you haven't given widget locker a go yet I would try it.
It's even better if you've rooted and increased your lcd density somewhat (192 seems good to me). I love being able to unlock straight to SMS, Email & camera, while being able to use torch mode without unlocking too... etc.
The old lock screen is still on in the background. Sometimes it flashes up when I unlock. Is it a bad idea to disable through Widget Locker?
I love widget locker, but I'm finding it a pain - my home button first start bypassing it, then when I figured that fix out, hold it down still activates the task manager grr
WidgetLocker is great - I've been using it for about a year but only found out the other day that you can get custom themes for the sliders, and because they're mostly just zipped up image files it was relatively easy to customise.

This is the 5 second problem. It's discussed in the Widget Locker documentation (and in the settings menus too).
If you root your phone you can get rid of it once and for all. Otherwise Homehelper is supposed to maybe help, but I never managed to completely get rid of the system lock screen till I rooted as you can't override the 5 second thing.

Okay. Planning on rooting my advice so may try that. Cheers. What is home helper? Do you mean root helper?
Widgetlocker on my O2 branded unrooted SG2 worked perfectly. However, now I have rooted it and flashed the unbranded firmware the home button overrides it meaning just pressing the home button twice unlocks the phone.
Anyone else with this issue? I have checked to make sure the option to allow the home button to unlock is unticked.
Edit - Ignore me, forgot the Homehelper needed to be set as default.

DO you think it would be possible to add Cyanogen's unlock screen (with rotary unlock and stuff) or would that be even harder ?
I would love to see the AOSP lock screen pop up on the SGS2.
my vote is the puzzle unlock from some sgs models.

That one is built into Widget Locker if you don't mind using that. Given the power and battery life on the phone I'm quite happy to do that. Although my resource reporting apps show Widget Locker as quite a hog.
I hate the Widget locker icon in the notification area. It makes me sad.

[Q] Widgetlocker and the Home Button

I'm using widgetlocker but when turn the screen on and the unlock screen comes up and I press the home button it just unlocks also.. anyone has an idea how to fix this?

Hey, thanks for your reply but I didnt get any further .. I dont have the "Allow Home Button" thing checked.. and the site u gave is also telling something about wlock helper but I have no idea where I can find it ;s
When you click your homebutton, check default behaviour, then select WLocker Helper. Then go to Settings, Advanced, HomeHelper and check the 'HomeHelper Block Home' box.
That should do it. Now when you click the home button, your phone won't unlock on Widget Locker.
The site, btw is the dev's FAQ site for Widget Locker.

Yes, especially it is important to select WL HomeHelper as the default after activating HomeHelper.

Attention Go Launcher/ Go Locker Users

Hey folks,
A lot of people are using this phone with Go Launcher and Go Locker (including myself). I discovered something rather disturbing security vulnerability today and wanted to share it with you. I will also share an easy remedy (which some of you may already be using). So, if you are using both of these products AND ever make use of security PIN/Pattern locks, read on:
- If you are like me, and use Go Locker with a PIN/Pattern lock, at some point you may have disabled the native/baked-in OS security locker in Menu-->Settings-->Location and Security-->Change Screen Lock, because (at one point), if you didn't, you'd sometimes have two consecutive pattern locks to deal with every time you unlocked your phone.
- There's a vulnerability in using ONLY Go Locker's PIN/Pattern lock in that when you initially re-boot your phone, as soon as the first user-interactive screen appears, one can swipe it, and get into your phone. So if someone found your phone, all they'd need to do is re-boot, or power down/up and they're in.
- I presume this is attributable to the fact that the 'user-interactive' areas of the phone load before the Go Launcher/Go Locker combination loads (true whether Odexed or Deodexed).
Here's the solution:
- Setup your lockscreen pattern or PIN using the method as if you were NOT using Go Locker (i.e., as from stock using Menu--> Settings--> etc.)
- Setup your lockscreen pattern or PIN AGAIN in Go Locker (Menu-->Preferences--> Visual Settings--> GO Locker --> Security Lock). I would recommend using THE SAME PIN or Pattern for both.
Here's how things will work now:
- Whenever you reboot your phone, the NATIVE screen Pattern/PIN lock will appear first, before you can access ANY interactive screens inside the phone. This takes care of the vulnerability. Enter that Pattern/PIN.
- Next, you’ll see your Go Locker ‘swipe’ screen, and after swiping, will have to enter your Go Locker Pattern/PIN**. But, this will be the ONLY time you’ll have to do a ‘double-entry’. From this point forward, whenever the phone locks, you’ll be using the Go Locker Pattern/PIN only. The ‘double-lock’ will ONLY occur when you hot reboot, or cycle the power again
- From this point forward, and as long as the phone is powered on, the Go Locker settings will prevail. So you will only have your 'swipe screen' and one Pattern/PIN to deal with now.
- If you are set up as described above, then disabling the Pattern/PIN lock in Go Launcher, will effectively disable it globally. The other Pattern/PIN lock is still technically 'set', but it will only appear if you re-boot or cycle power. AND EVEN THEN, it will only appear on bootup.
-- What this means, is that if you want to maintain SOME security, you can leave the 'base' Pattern/PIN lock active, and disable the Go Locker Pattern/PIN lock.
(unrelated side note, it’s unfortunate that Go Locker doesn’t use the ‘Timeout’ function that the stock locking app uses)
* Go Launcher / Locker takes a few seconds to load, so on your initial boot, if you enter your base Pattern/PIN before it does, you'll only have the initial lock to deal with, but Go Locker will handle the lockscreen and lock once it loads from that point forward.
I hope this helps.
you should probably email the dev.
I posted a while back that someone told me Go Launcher is logging and keeping personal info...not on a CIQ level though ...can anyone confirm or deny? TIA

I've been a little curious about any NOT developed by Google application that sees an immense amount of success in the Marketplace. I mean, there's a pretty solid chance that they are "logging" some (barely) considered sensitive data. Then again, the less the better. I rather prefer the latter.

I don't get your thought process. To be successful you need to log sensitive data? So CM must too?

I am using Go launcher W/ the Go ICS theme and they are using Air Push to send me personalized spam in my notification bar. The spam is so personalized that they have to be logging some sort of personal info. Hopefully the $%#@#@&^$%!'s at Go launcher haven't logged my bank account info. I am going to find an alternative this weekend.
There is a video on xdatv, I forgot his name but he compares all the home replacements and advices that go launcher does collect data, time to go back to stock or something else

Im pretty sure it was the ics theme that causes the air push spam... not Go Launcher itself. Although I don't know much about Go Launcher anyway, so obviously do your research.
go locker does the same bootup issue with no pin, just swipe unlock... but after you use the stock lock the go lock pops up a second later and re-locks it... still sloppy though. there is a couple ics themes on the market that do not do ads... in the comments for that push ad theme theres a comment that said its not actually the go devs.... idunno... still wanna know if its the launcher itself doing it...
DL air push detector from the market, it will tell you what is causing the notification ads.

Yes, you're correct, it is specifically ICS theme for Go Launcher that causes the air push spam. I guess I could have jumped to a conclusion on how strongly affiliated the producer of Go Launcher is with the production of the many themes for Go launcher. I should have researched that before making accusations against anyone.

Anyway, check out Addons Detector (free) in the MP. Seems to also do a pretty good job finding add-ons, especially when you get those annoying notifications that seem to appear from nowhere.
Go Locker's Pattern/Pin is useless!
Hey guys,
you set go locker for cool lockscreens
but what about the security
it's easy to bypass go lockers pattern or pin DaMn easily
Just call the device having go locker from another phone
Accept the call from device having go locker
end the call from another phone
call log appears press home key you're in the phone
but the stock locker is nice
You can't do that in stock locker
Any ideas ?> >

i'm certain it's not the launcher, i've been using it since day three of ownership, never a push spam. i too would bet it's the theme, and would note that most themes available for GL are not made by GoLauncherDevTeam, and they don't make an ICS one.
i'd be curious the content of the spam itself? that makes you believe it's the Go company doing it?

I heard this mentioned before as well, with no substantiation besides a "well it's made in china, so who knows what they do over there...", but I too am curious how a company can make so much dev'ed product, of frankly high quality, and charge for so little of it.
EDIT: and hey, there's a second page. damn. i need coffee.

Oh god people need to calm down. I have Go Locker and Launcher installed and the Ice Cream Sandwich EX theme and I don't get any spam or anything. People are always complaining that they are viewing your data but they have to view it to have it in lists and to display info to widgets or whatever. Before you ruin the name of an amazing app it might help to gather a few facts.

Install Air Push Detector app and see what pops up. Its not necessarily a bad thing but its a fact that the Go ICS theme (the one with the blue icon) pushes advertising. There are several on the Market now and you probably have one that doesn't do it. Also the Blue icon Go ICS theme and some of the Go Locker themes aren't even made by Go so I don't understand how that gives Go products a bad name. Its a few of the apps that are made for it

First of all, making your text red and big doesn't make it any better. Actually, it makes actually more difficult to read, because people are used to the regular sized text here.
My recommendation would be to check over the 3rd party lock screen app settings. Which app is it?

And yeah when i reboot my phone i get stock lockscreen then holo locker...
