I installed a Weather application which was really in-depth and added an extra tab on the Touch Flo 3D interface (a little black-and-white windows flag), but now that I've uninstalled it, the extra tab is still there and I don't know how to remove it - I think the app may have been called Weather Panel but I'm not sure.
I know it still says 'MTP Settings' on the last tab which takes me to a settings page, and I've uninstalled the program, run my SK Tools packages (registry cleanup, bad shortcuts cleanup) but to no avail...
Does anyone know how to delete this bloody last tab?
Maybe if you disable TouchFLO, install it, enable TouchFLO, disable TouchFLO, reboot, and uninstall it, the extra tab will go away. This is what I do when a program gives me issues with TouchFLO, and it usually works. Hope that helps
Thanks for the advice, but I've already uninstalled the 2 programs via settings-system-remove programs, and also ran the SK Tools tidy-up feature, but the extra tab in Touch Flo 3D is still there at the end.
I think I may have to just re-install the thing and live with it....

I love Black 2.0 and hate to start a new thread on my little micro-problem, but also I don't want to clutter up the main Black 2.0 thread, so here goes...
I have a couple of utilities that I've re-installed but do not have the chance for the app to show up on the Settings->Control Panel->Today screen. One example is PocketAlarm. Another one is SPB Backup.
To give a specific example, I did go into PocketAlarm and select "Enable Today Plugin" on the config screen. Still, nothing shows up in the Control Panel to enable it.
I'm fairly new to Windows Mobile (as if you couldn't tell), so if I'm missing something, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-Humbert
try going to start, settings, today, Items tab and see if they appear in there and make sure they are ticked
I had similar prob with PhoneAlarm (most current beta). It was installed and could see it in the Remove Programs in Settings/System tab. but no show on the today screen or the Items tab.
What I did was remove it using Remove Programs and re-installed it. Everything turned out fine after that.
Let us know if this helped.

I was wondering if there was a way to add and remove icon shortcuts for programs in the start menu
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mircosoft\Shell\StartMR U
InitialOrder > Remove links in this key to have all apps in alphabetical order or add links in the order you choose.
@quicksand - i believe that is for the MRU only.. which appears only in the Homescreen..
@casezin - Try to sync your phone, explore, locate /Windows/Start Menu/, and you can add/remove shortcuts/folder there..
There's a StartMRU and a StartMenu. I put the wrong key it it should be
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mircosoft\Shell\StartMenu
order > Remove links in this key to have all apps in alphabetical order or add links in the order you choose.
I apologize for that mixup. What i posted in this post is correct.
By Editing the registry key you can put your apps in any order you like as opposed to having the default apps at the top and user installed apps below those.

Thanks... This should be added to the Wiki. I knew how to remove menu items... but not sort them
windows mobile 6.5 start menu
I have installed an application (to be specifies the application is called mobidiv and it is for language support) on my windows mobile 6.5; however after the installation the start menu is not working anymore! It’s there however it’s is disabled
I had a similar problem with the installed application when I was on windows mobile 6.1; however the problem was with the sms email threading, the application for some reason disabled it.. after searching the web I was able to fix the problem by going into the registry key and enable the sms email threading feature again.
Now, I guess the application has done it again but this time with the start menu, can any one help me with providing the registry key for enabling/disabling the menu button for windows mobile 6.5
Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry but what device are you running wm6.5 on? I don't think anyone with an excalibur is running 6.5!
i dont know what phone or build your using, but mine is an htc touch pro 2 running 6,5 and i absolutly haaate some of the stock apps that come in the start menu
i was playing around on it a few weeks ago and found where the folder is that holds the icons for the menu
you can make new folders while in here, delete shortcuts, and rename them.
heres the folders you need to open:
->start
_->file explorer
(make sure you are on the top level of "my device")
__->windows
(this should be the last file available)
___->start menu
____->programs
once you reach the programs folder you should see an alphabetical list of your folders folowed by an alphabetical list of your app shortcuts, just like you would on any computer.
just hold select and then press delete.
it will ask if your sure, press yes.
if it tells you that a related program might be using this shortcut, it means that you might have either a tab or an icon on your home screen linked to that particular shortcut and you would have to re link that tab or icon to the program or risk loosing it entierly.
hope this helps

i just saw the date of the original post ^ ^;
might be alittle to late to help the original situation but this still works none the less

Hi. I use WPC (Wallpaper changer) and CHome mini weather 1.2 together.
However, they conflict.
I once insalled both and nothing was wrong. Moreover, I uninstalled CHome weather and insalled Feather Weather. I liked CHome weather better than Feather Weather; therefore, I reinstalled CHome after uninstalling Feather Weather. But, the problem occured at that point. Like the picture I uploaded, the home screen icons vanished.
In addition, I can't use WPC alone. If I uninstall CHome weather, or install only WPC, WPC shows some files are missed, and couldn't run it.
I tried in both of Main Memory and Storage Card, but the results are the same. I even performed a hard reset, and got no improvement.
What is wrong with my phone? Did I touch some BIOS setting?

Sounds like your missing mortscript.exe which is required for running WPC. Install mort and then WPC should work. Not working with miniweather could be caused by having the TestUIPlugin enabled, which I think is used for the 5 day forecast panel.
The main issue is that icons in home screen are vanished. How would I fix that?
And, where can I get "mort" from?

I'm running WPC together with NRGZ mini weather and I've never had any problems, not even when we were testing the beta version of WPC. Is got to be the TestUIPlugin, cause I've had mine disabled since before we started testing.

Search for mortscript 4.11b7 for smartphone. I know I've posted the cab in some of my threads, just don't remember which ones off hand.

It works greatly. WPC alone will show icons properly. But, I still have "vanishing icons" issue when I install CHome Weather.
After WPC changes the wallpaper, icons won't appear again. Is it the problem with CHome Weather? I just wonder why. Everything was working okay before I tried "Feather Weather." How come a hard reset also does not work. Doesn't the hard reset eliminate all the settings and files and then restore to factory default setting?
Any suggestion please?

Well, regardless of the weather app you're running, I would suggest to use your chome cofigurator and hide the weather TestUIplugin panel. If you did a hard reset properly there shouldn't be any programs or files that you had on your phone before. It goes back to factory settings, like you just installed the rom. If you gonna start over I suggest choose whatever weather app you want first, install it , hide the TestUIplugin panel, and then reinstall WPC.
I have been searching for 3 hours, Can't find the answer...
I am running the stock AT&T/HTC rom. I want 1 Today screen that has everything on it that I use frequently: apps, contacts, calculator, etc.
I was using SPB mobile shell, but my "running tasks" icon (in upper right corner) disappeared & I could never figure out how to get it back.
I uninstalled SPB MS and I am back to the stock shell (and my "running tasks" icon is back)...I went to Today settings and unchecked TF3D because I don't want to scroll thru a bunch of pages, I just want all my frequently used items in one place, the today screen. This setup worked perfectly on my Kaiser using SPB Pocket PC. But, I wanted the much bigger screen that Tilt 2 offers.
Anyway, after unchecking TF3D on the today settings...my home screen is blank and when I go back to Today Settings, Items...there are only a few things I can add...like date, calendar, owner info. How can I add shortcuts for apps and games I have installed? I know the Today screen is unchangeable when you are running touchflo but I have disabled it. I tried a soft reset, that didn't change anything...the Windows default isn't any better of an alternative...pls help! I have tried wording my search 20 different ways and I cannot find the answer. THANK YOU!

SPB makes another great solution that will do exactly what you're looking for, it adds all that type of functionality to the stock WM home screen without using any shell interfaces or losing your task manager. It's called SPB Pocket Plus, and details are here.
thanks, I didn't want to use that program because it says its only compatible up to WM 6.0 (and my phone uses WM 6.5)...but I installed it and it works great...w/full screen functionality...was worried about that. THANK YOU!!!

Glad it worked! I swore by that program back when I had WM 5.1 on my Wizard, and it still works great on the latest versions even though few people stay with the stock start page anymore

Since you didn't say which ROM you were using, I'm going to assume you're on the stock one with TF3D. Go here to turn it off: Start > Settings > System > G-Sensor.

im using the stock sprint rom with the 6.5 upgrade. Ive disabled touchflow and use spb mobile shell. Ive gone into start settings system g sensor but there is only a option to calibrate the g sensor nowhere do i see any other options for anything. I dont think there are any differences wether i access the setting through touch flo. Maybe your rom adds that setting. Thanks for the reply and trying to help.
Delete the apps of your choice (in this case Opera) from the White List in the registry to prevent G-Sensor rotation. White List location is:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
If registry edits scare you, you can install the G-Config app. This simple program just edits the registry through a user-friendly UI.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487991
Open G-Config, you should see Opera on the list of Rotated Apps. Select and hold on Opera until the option to "Remove" pops up. Select "Remove" than exit G-Config, and soft reset the phone to make the change take effect.

Hi thanks for the response. i use opera mini and its not on the list. I added it and then tried to remove it but that did not work. I guess its only good for disabling g sensor for the programs that it comes with - I was succesful at disabling rotation with the opera on the list that comes with the stock rom. Any other suggestions? Ive never edited a registry but am williing to try if you can tell me how. thanks.
