I just bought this phone and I have no idea where to begin. Salesperson was not sure either, so my question is 1) bought memeory card 1g, and was able to store 15 songs, but when I try to sync more it says not enough memory and to delete old files for storage. Okay how do you do that and I was told that 1g card will let me store bout 200 songs, hmmm. Next, browsing enternet explorer, says to close previous pages, like how? I just use it for pleasure, pics, music... but thus far having problems with it all, should i return it before my 14 days are up? Any help will be appreciated, yall!!!

First off welcome to the forum. Second, before you do anything, if you're not sure if you want to keep the phone, you should do some reading before you do any type of alteration or modifications to it. The're is a ton of stuff you can do, and a lot of apps , programs , etc. I hope you didn't spend too much money for that 1g card , cause with a 6.1 rom you can use up to 16gb card. The problem with the reg 6.0 rom is that is full of crap, the only reason is telling you to close previous pages is that you're running out of ram memory, I had the same problem when I first got the phone, but the difference with me is that I bought the phone with the notion that I was going to do a lot of initial work to get the phone where I wanted it to be.
E.G. I got a better rom right away, it took 4 different flashes to find the one I liked, I got a better web browser (opera mini) and did a lot of reading , on how to do all sorts of stuff and learn how to make it my own. Now I got a ton of nice stuff running on my phone. I got a lot of help from a lot of good people here. There's a lot of valuable info on all of the stickies on the top of the main page. SEARCH is your friend. You got to remember that this phone didn't come out yesterday, so if you decide to keep the phone , there's a 99.999 percent chance that someone already asked any question that you might have, so that's why we encourage everyone to search before making threads with stupid questions, that only takes minutes to find an answer. If you still don't find the right answer, you will find the proper thread to ask it. If you decide to keep the phone, ther's a million apps to get, a better music player, video player , weather apps , games , ringtones , automatic wallpaper changer, file changer , change your font , color of such font , backup software, the list goes on and on. Anyways good luck, and I hope my time will help you make a choice.

1) Use the search option here on XDA or Google. I am sure you can find answers for 99.9% of the queries you might have. And if you can not find them at first, you need to try different wording also.
2) Are you sure you are storing them on the memory card and not on the phone memory? How big are the songs? If you rip songs from a CD you might have files that are too big. If you bought a new memory card it should be clean and without anything else, unless you also stored videos, pictures and what not. Something is not 100% clear here. You say you stored 15 songs on the memory card, but then you don't know how to delete them?
3) Don't use Internet Explorer. I use skyfire, its a great browser and I suggest you get it also.

Looks cool... would be even sweeter if it integrated with Basehue.
I'll give it a go anyway.

Yeah I love it 'cause I have like 600+ wallpapers on my sd card , so instead of browsing thru them to get one , I make theme packs with them to work with the WPC, place the packs on the WPC wallpaper directory, and the WPC does the rest.
I have an AT&T Tilt 2, which I cannot install a ROM on, because it's not mine (company phone).
As shipped, the phone includes all sorts of "free" (demo) software that I don't want. It wasn't installed through .cab files, so there are no uninstall options for it. I would like to manually remove it, though, and I'm wondering if it's safe to just simply remove the folders and registry entries related to this software.
I've moved the information into the wiki here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=UninstallingTilt2Software
Whether or not this thread is stickied or linked to somewhere or not is up to a mod, I guess, but I think there's at least SOME other people in the same boat for whom this is useful information.
Because the page is in the wiki, feel free to add to it if you have additional information.
I would love to know the same. I wonder if there is any point during a hard reset where you can soft reset and eliminate at least some of the crap. Most cooked roms or stock roms you can do this but I've never tried with a carrier rom.
Nice, 18M of crap out of ram? I haven't tried yet, my Tilt is, eh, being replaced so I've hard reset it for now.
I just Deleted all of the above and more. I started with 109.82 mb in use and now I have 71.92 mb in use. So far the isn't any ill effects. This works great for me since I wanted the stock ROM without most of the bloatware.

Well, storage, not RAM, but yeah, there's a whole lotta space there waiting to be freed up
I have been thinking the same by archiving all the bloat on a single page. The bloatware ware is rediculous at almost 70mb of useless crap. Att considers this to be an advantige over the other touch pros. Maybe we should petition att to release a rom with out all this crap.
has anyone actually archived all the bloatware including the programs themselves, locations in winmo and the registry entries on the Tilt2? I'm upgrading from the Tilt (kaiser) sometime this week and would love be able to delete as much of it as possible, without installing a cooked rom.
I guess when it gets her I could start archiving but it would go quite a bit faster with 3 or 4, or more working on it.
Did anyone notice that some of these apps reside under \Program Files\ as well as \Windows?
e.g. AWBOARDGAMES.EXE, SUDOKU.EXE, etc.
Are we doubling up on these items?

The copies in \Windows are in ROM, they're not taking up our storage space. The initial customization copies them to \Program Files and THAT is where they're taking up room.
Wiki page is now up to 10 apps, comprising 28.4mb worth of storage space. Others, feel free to contribute.
Is there any problem that you encountered by just removing the registry and program files? Can anyone share their experience of doing this?
Thanks,

Thanks for the info, didn't realize the original was in \windows rather than in a hidden area.
The way I understand it (someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong), "cooking" files into the ROM causes them to end up in \Windows. I don't believe there's any way to "cook" files into the ROM and have them end up anywhere else.
Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong about this.
Thanks for starting this thread and identifying the files we can get rid of. When I get home, I hope to have time to sit down and get rid of some of this bloatware.
Could someone put some brief descriptions on things? I could google and do it myself later tonight, just seems like a good thing to have.. Like Mobi4Biz etc.. The games are pretty obvious I guess.
And if anyone identifies any PROBLEMS with removing them. And perhaps when available, links to cabs to replace them, if anyone has such a desire.
I put short descriptions (as I understand them... certainly I would never be caught dead actually using any of this crap...) on the stuff under Applications.
You could certainly cab this stuff up, but there's no real reason to, all you'd need to do if you wanted it back is copy it back out of the ROM files. I think.
Maybe somebody could post a mort script that deletes all of the files specified in the wiki so that after a hard reset or for somebody who hasn't done it yet could just run that instead of locating and deleting all these file manually. I'll do it if I get a chance to get around to it.
Great thread. Thanks to the OP and contributors of the wiki. I can absolutely second the vote to get a good mostly stock AT&T ROM minus the bloatware. It sure was nice to be able to get rid of that on the original Tilt with the well timed soft reset... I'm guessing almost all of the ROM chefs will not find this novel enough nor having enough customization to bother. Sure would be nice.
Hi:
Sorry to be dense, but what are the steps to remove the items that are in the WIKI? Do you just delete the files, and the registry keys? Also, was the OP's original question answered about whether there are any adverse side effects to removing the files.
Thanks!

At least one person seems to have removed the items, with no ill effects. I really am skeptical that there would be a problem, as all we're doing is what an uninstall would do.
You are indeed correct, simply remove the files and registry keys listed, and the applications should be completely uninstalled (assuming we've got everything listed!).
Hi,
I have just installed CyanogenMod 7.0.3 onto my HTC Desire, and updated the market to the new/latest.
When trying to download apps through the market, I get the error message
Insufficient space on the device.
Under 'storage' settings, I have just under 7GB on SD card available and 127MB available on Internal storage.
Under Applications > Storage Use, it tells me also about 130MB free on Interal Storage (18MB used).
I have just used Rom Manager to Partition the SD card thinking that would help, but no difference.
I ultimately want to be able to use the SD for app installs, but at stuck at the first hurdle...
Was all working on when I was using Stock Sense Rom...!
Thanks!
PS I can install small applications, like 100K ish work fine...
fixed...
installed s2e, and ticked all the boxes of s2e and boom
I guess you run out of room even on /data since the /cache/download its binded to /data/local/download when /cache is under 20MB.

You and I should both be trying to help everyone we can - that's how a fantastic community such as XDA works, and why it works so well.
We can recommend, or even suggest, that rules be followed, but in the end, it is the responsibility of moderators to enforce the rule, not us members.
Josh.
OP, If you found a solution, I suggest changing the title of the thread so that it says "[SOLVED]". This way users having the same issue will see your solution.
No matter how hard I try, I don't see a point in your post.

I tried. I really did. But amount of spam in dev section is way beyond acceptable level. I was trying to help new users that created threads in wrong threads from time to time. But the moments it started to happening several times in a week, I resigned. My patience is not unlimited and it was depleted in less than month. If you still find strength to continue to "helping" stu..., er, I mean new users that obviously can't or won't (but most probably both) read, be my guest.
I WILL NOT!

Moderators? Here? Don't be ridiculous. If mods were doing their job, we wouldn't have to deal with kind of situations in the first place. The fact is they don't give a crap about it. They don't even allow you to report misplaced thread. So how can you expect from them to give even stupid warning?!
A simple "you put this in the wrong thread" would have sufficed, no?
You, just like many others before and after you, are proof that it stopped being enough long time ago.

Hi!
Some day ago, I have seen the topic to show how to transfer some data from main to ExtSD. but now I could'nt find it agian! who help me to see it agian please?
Thanks
Hi. I don't think anyone understands what you mean.
Explain better, please?
Are you talking about simply moving files like movies for example from internal memory to external? Or are you talking about moving data for games from internal to external? For the latter, check out DirectoryBind. Here is a DirectoryBind guide for the Galaxy S III. It should work the same way for a Note II. Note the word should, because I haven't used it myself so I don't actually have any experience.

The principle it looks like some soft to move the soft from main (internal SD) to External SD to get more memory of the internal SD.

you have 2 options.
1) move the thumbnails to external drive, if you are rooted and you can do this, here are some basic guides below from AFTVNEWS siste btw greate source for AFTV but do more research before you do anything since i haven't done this my self.
2) delete the thumbnails from AFTV drive on regular basis, i do every few weeks, it takes less 1 min. You should installed ES explore and run SD analyzer function to see which folders are taking up how much space. You can also install SD Maid PRO this app will find old files are no longer used which whill help even free up some more space on AFTV drive.
here is the link on xda form which user have been using to move thumnails to external drive.
