Seems HTC has removed the basic owner information entry in Windows Mobile 6.5. I looked at Microsofts Windows Phone site and they say it's there..searched my phone and found the icon, but not the place to set it. anyone got this figured out cause I can't register my programs with out it. I'm sure I'm missing something.
hi..Registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner\Hide and make the value 0.
There are 2 options.
1. Edit the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner\Hide" to 0.
2. Disable HTC Sense and enable Owner Info plugin in the Today settings. You should then be able to access it via the Today screen.
On the Tilt2, it's located in Start > Settings > Personal > Owner Information.. or am I missing something?

thank you for show the 2nd option, it worked easy and I needed it. Tks
Same here, how stupid to hide this sooo much.....
what's the difference between touchflo3d and sense? and how do i disable them to use the original 6.5 interface? i found that 6.5 uses an average of 70%+ of memory whereas 6.1 used about 10%+ lesser. clearing the memory using htcaddict's cleanram also couldn't get it down to 50%+.
Still having probs with owner info
Hi all - new to this forum. I have some software that needs owner info to be set. I've tried the registry change and soft reset but that changes nothing it seems. I don't have the option of checking an owner info box in today setting so I'm at a loss as to where to go next - any help appreciated#
Peter
PS - I seem to have lost the owner section under control panel in Registry altogether now - what should the entries be please?

Another way to get owner info on HD2
Solved my own problem - there's a "me" entry in the phone book - I put my name in and it had the same effect as setting owner info
Now we get to answer all the questions that were already answered back in October for all the "official" upgraders who just now upgraded. I guess the Search function is just as difficult as flashing a cooked ROM.
There's a much easier and more "standard" way, at least on the official T-Mobile US 6.5 ROM. With TouchFlo, slide to the Settings screen. Check the lower left - you'll see "All Settings" - click this and you will find a bunch of settings (including Owner Info) like you had in 6.1.

Touch Pro2 Registry Edit
Hey all,
I modified my Touch Pro2 registry so that I could enter Owner information. This was done with the following edit to the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner\Hide and make the value 0.
Since I performed this edit I am unable to get SMS messages. I can send fine but when I get messages into my phone I get an error message that says "A problem has occurred with device.exe"
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this. I have performed numerous soft resets but to no avail. I also went back into the registry and returned that value to 1. again no help...
Please...Help
Im having the same problem as well. I put all my info into the ME card and i did the registry thing so now Owner info shows up under Setting > personal but the info there is correct. Yet Smartgear says my machine ID is some random number. check out the pics below

the registry change above didn't work for me (cooked rom i guess)
Here's a workaround that might work for someone someday:
Install SKTools > TOOLS > ABOUT > REGISTRATION > OWNER
on this screen it will realize there's no Owner's info entered and open it for you

I feel kind of silly here. I did a search on the forum, and didn't find much.

You will need to install some plugin on the today screen to get the feature you are looking for. I personally use PowerCheck version 3.5, which is freeware and allows you to monitor both the battery and memory state.
I have attached a a CAB file with PowerCheck. Just copy it to you device execute it there to install.
dont install this program. i did and I have to hardreset my XDAIIs
Is this a general issue with the Blue Angel (or what device do you have xcalibur)?
Honestly, I have been running this plugin for more than a month on my Magician. It hasn't caused me any problems at all - not even something that required a soft reset. I find it strange that it should cause problems on the Blue Angel but not on the Magician given that they both run Windows Mobile 2003 SE PE. Moreover, this plugin has received almost purely positive reviews on several ppc freeware sites.
I'm sorry xcalibur, but I have ask: could it be that your hard reset was caused by something else than this plugin - or perhaps by a bug in some other software that doesn't work if this plugin is installed?
I have an O2 XDAIIs with ROM Version 1.12.62WWE. ROM DATE 10/4/04.
Try SPBPocketPlus http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/
You can create today shortcuts and put a small block style powerbar across the very top edge of the screen.
Loads of other features as well including the option to make the X button really close apps rather than just minimze them.
Completely customisable as well
anyway, thanks.
Hi!
I remember when i load the O2 Uk ROM there was this battery bar in the today screen, any know what program they use?
I hope if possible it can be extract from the O2 UK extend ROM, i just need to know which file?
I have recently upgrade to the iMate Arabic 1.31 ROM so lost the O2 features.
Alvin
Try this one: TodaysInfo
Hi
Try this on: TodaysInfo. I'm using it on SPV M1000 & M2000 and it works fine with direct access to memory and bat.
There is one TodayScreen add-in where this one will disappeare but I don't know which one. Un/reinstall it and it's back.

Hi! Ag,
Thanks very much, appreciate your help. I have search the net for this today battery plugin but the one im looking for was like in O2 UK XDA IIs.

I'd recommend Magic Button 1.8. It's supposed to give you control of running programs, but also incorporates a powermeter, as seen in the top right corner.

This is the smallest and nicest I've ever seen. You can also choose the position on the top bar.
No installation required, just copy it wherever you want and execute (\windows\startup is a good place).
Tapping on it you will have immediately all your bat and mem information at a glance.
Cheers.

hi,
this file don't has uninstall option but you can uninstall it manually,
1- go on your pocket pc to windows folder you will find a file called bettery.exe,,, delete it
2- now most important you have to edit the registry because the phone will be looking for battery file every time you reset it and it will give an error because you deleted it , now using any reg edit software go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init
"Launch250"="\windows\battery.exe" <= delete this key.
that should work.
please make first a backup for your pocket pc, you may need it in case something wrong happened.
Regards.
'Uninstalling' battery_OU
Thanks for the reply; appreciate it. After I posted here, I started looking at files w/in the CAB & found the reg entry. I also thought it's _250 init meant that the corresponding pgm would get started in the order implied (basically about last if I remember correctly). Reminded me a little about the root pcs start sequence dependencies in Unix. So I removed the reg entry, restarted & the upper right icon disappeared. Then I was comfortable w/deleting the windows\battery.exe.
Rebooting, that-all looked fine. So then I thought I'd wait for your reply, to see what else I might have missed, then reply back.
Again, thanks for your reply. I think whoever built the CAB didn't build the corresponding uninstall; kind of 'hacky' to me, but, no harm.
FWIW, I'm using the kbattery executable that 'dave' posted in his post dtd Thu Mar 10, 2005 12:20. Small, works fine, can place in the Start where I want. Shows primary battery strength, which is what I'm mostly looking for most-all the time. Can click it to get more info if I want too (although it shows more detail about memory only).

Creates a panel on your home screen. You are able to link an app to per page. This Reg file(s) have up to 20 pages.
App has to be stored on your phone or on your SD Card.
I think thats a simple explanation.
I'm unable to get the active/inactive icons to work using CHome Configurator. It shows a bloody red X even though I've inserted a URL to the icon I want to use.
Can someone help me? Thanks
i had the same problem but basically i went into Resco and unzipped each icon file individually and when i returned to the screen it was working ... hope that helps and maybe you can help me with something, when i putah this app on my phone and started it when i did i had nrg weather on my homescreen with the 5 day forecast panel but basically now that my apps is on there it doesnt show the 5 day panel anymore and i tried disabling one or more panels to see if it would come back and it didnt and i even tried changing the layout in the CHomeWeather settings ..... any suggestions

Blackjack2, if you already use the Chome Config utility, you can create as many pages you need after enabling/disabling the corresponding panels in it. You can also create multiple panels, as long as you give different names to them. There after if u go into HKLM/SW/MS/Chome, you can see your new panel/page listed there, and can change the icons, action URL, right soft key, title etc etc.. if u want to modify them (you can also do this thing via chome configurator)
Rickywatt has essentially provided reg entries to do this readymade, and has supplied a whole bunch of neat apps that u can give to each page, so that they will look cool on your homescreen
Im having some trouble i put both the files on my phone opend the CAApplication one and did the regestry thing and nothing looks diffrent..
Did u reset the homescreen? Or restarted the phone? Do u use Chome Configurator? If so, did u check whether the CApp panel is hidden? You will have to enable and SHOW it for it to be displayed on homescreen
Is there a way to backup all the setting in the sliding panels,so I dont have to do them all over again when I hard reset my phone? Thanks

Hi
I've noticed a problem with my TP2, wondered if anyone else had it and had found a way round.
I store all my contacts as international codes (i.e. +447799xxxxxx etc) so I don't have to mess about when on holiday. However I've noticed a problem with this and the Touch Flo interface.
When I get an SMS I see it on the touch flo page, double click and i see the touch flo SMS interface as follows: -
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However when I send, it drops the + from the beginning of the message. Concequently, it tries to send to 4417799xxxxxx which is invalid and goes into my drafts folder.
If however from the front page I choose the "All Messages" soft key and reply to the message in the standard threaded WM6.1 interface: -
then it works fine.
Any idea how to fix this (without removing +44 from all my contacts!)
Cheers, Sy

Yes, but before i had the same problem and after also.
remember notify HTC support !
I'm not sure but I think something goes wrong when restoring contacts via sprite-backup. I noticed an ';' behind or in front of a phone number once.
Try editing the contact, selecting and saving the phone number and see if it happens again.

Forget it. They are interested in selling not fixing. Terrible customer support
I don't use Sprite Backup, but my contacts are synced OTA to Exchange, whether that makes a difference or not I don't know.
I do have CF3.5 installed, but don't know whether I had the problem before (I installed it when I first got the phone).
Strangely the problem also seems a little intermittent - for example this morning I did a test reply using the TF interface, and it worked okay?
I will send a message to HTC though so hopefully they'll look into a fix!
Oh, and just noticed my regional settings were set to US not UK, so I've changed this to see if it makes a difference. Though the regional settings don't seem to make any direct reference to phone number format so we'll have to see if it actually makes a difference.
Further investigation suggests this seems to happen on the 2nd reply. i.e. in an SMS thread I reply to a message and it's okay....reply again (before another from sender) and the + gets dropped.

Firstly, thanks to Wensing for the original post on the Bluetooth Disconnection Notification.
I was becoming annoyed with the notification telling me that I had to adjust the volume on the BT Device and not on my handset. So starting with Wensing's post I added the following - and it worked for me.
CREATE THIS KEY
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{1CBF334F-99CC-4835-B930-E3568FE5B2C7}]
**When I post this there seems to be a space in the key name the first part should read 1CBF334F
ADD THESE SUB KEYS
"AvailableOptions"=dword:00000009
"Default"="Volume Warning"
"Options"=dword:00000000
Now go to Sounds & Notifications and you should have an option volume warning. Disable any notifications and you should no longert get the annoyiung warning.
Thanx, working fine.
You may have to remove the space in key name : {1CBF334F-99CC-4835-B930-E3568FE5B2C7}
Thanks so much for sharing, that was really getting on my nerves!

Ditto for my US T-Mobile Rhodium
However, after making the modifications, I don't have any such options in the Sounds & Notifications section.
I'm using Resco Registry Editor, and there is no option to add a 'sub key', so I just added DWORD Value and edited the existing '(Default)' Value. Is this correct, or should I have added Keys with Values underneath?
Thanks!
I tried this on my phone. I get the option volume warning but checking/unchecking boxes does nothing unfortunately.
I made changes to the registry for the first time, so maybe i made a mistake there. Could you please check if this registry edit is correct? Thanks.

I don't have this issue with any Jabra A2DP enabled Bluetooth handsfree, but with all other ones I have, I get this annoying loud alert sound with the message every time A2DP service is activated. This tweak gets rid of the audio alert and message popup - it's still there in the HTC Notification Manager, but at least now I can connect to my non-Jabra A2DP Bluetooth handsfree devices in peace.

Remove the space in the GUID. "1CBF 33" should be "1CBF33". After that it should work for you.
I'm not really comfortable doing reg edits. The notifications were going off every few minutes and driving me nuts! I'm not sure I did them correctly, but seems to work. I had to hard reset after the first try, it was totally wrong, thank goodness for Sprite Backup.
Thanks much.
EDIT -- Unfortunately, I don't really have time to mess with this any more at the moment. Reefermattness has offered to merge this with his utility, so I'd check there for any additional updates/requests/etc. Thanks!
I posted this over at PPCGeeks, but thought I'd go ahead and post it here too:
I like having my backlight auto-adjust in WM, but for the time being we still have to turn that off before launching Haret in order to have backlight control in Android. So... here is a little app that does just that... disables the automatic backlight adjustment and then runs haret. Just install the cab and look for "Android Launcher" in your Start menu (you still need your own Android package on your storage card - including haret).

I made this mostly just for myself, but figured I'd share in case anyone else finds it useful. I'm by no means a developer (more of an amateur tinkerer) so I don't really intend to offer much support or additional development.
Also, I had originally intended to write another little program to run at Windows startup to re-enable auto-adjustment, but it doesn't seem to be necessary. The setting doesn't appear to stick after the system reboots. Maybe there isn't enough time before haret runs for the registry to be committed. Not really sure, but I'd be curious if anyone else's results vary.
Edit - new version configurable via the registry. Change the string value at HKLM\SOFTWARE\AndroidLauncher -- HaretLocation to reflect the location of haret on your storage card.
Edit2 - added app to re-enable the auto-adjustment on Windows startup, since the results seemed to be inconsistent. This will ensure that it is back on when Windows starts. If you've downloaded previously, you might want to update to this version.
this is pretty cool, nice goin
This IS pretty cool! Thanks!
I'm really glad you shared this. I always forget to turn off auto backlight in Windows when I boot Android. Thank you.

Not really sure, but I'd be curious if anyone else's results vary.

Though I do not know for certain, I tend to agree with your statement that the registry isn't getting committed prior to running haret.
I was having issues where I would install this app, edit the registry to point to \Storage Card\andboot\haret.exe, I could run Android Launcher that _one_ time and it would work.
When I rebooted into Windows, the registry would be reset and Android Launcher would give .NET errors, and my automatic backlight settings are restored.
I finally installed android Launcher, edited my registry as needed, and then rebooted (soft reset) my phone. All the settings stuck.
I can run Android Launcher fine now without issue. Thank you, I like this small app for launch xdAndroid the best.

I hadn't considered that, thanks for bringing it up. I need to force that registry key to be saved before running haret. I'll post a new version as soon as I have time to make the change.
this app is really nice love to have one extra icon on the sense desktop
Hi everybody. I don't really have time to mess with this any more at the moment, but Reefermattness has offered to merge this with his utility, so I'd check there for any additional updates/requests/etc. Thanks!
cool! many thanks, sir.
