I feel kind of silly here. I did a search on the forum, and didn't find much.
I want to be able to look at my phone and see how much power is left. Right now I have to go Start-->Settings-->System-->Power.
Ridiculous!

You will need to install some plugin on the today screen to get the feature you are looking for. I personally use PowerCheck version 3.5, which is freeware and allows you to monitor both the battery and memory state.
I have attached a a CAB file with PowerCheck. Just copy it to you device execute it there to install.

Is this a general issue with the Blue Angel (or what device do you have xcalibur)?
Honestly, I have been running this plugin for more than a month on my Magician. It hasn't caused me any problems at all - not even something that required a soft reset. I find it strange that it should cause problems on the Blue Angel but not on the Magician given that they both run Windows Mobile 2003 SE PE. Moreover, this plugin has received almost purely positive reviews on several ppc freeware sites.
I'm sorry xcalibur, but I have ask: could it be that your hard reset was caused by something else than this plugin - or perhaps by a bug in some other software that doesn't work if this plugin is installed?

I'd recommend Magic Button 1.8. It's supposed to give you control of running programs, but also incorporates a powermeter, as seen in the top right corner.

No installation required, just copy it wherever you want and execute (\windows\startup is a good place).
Tapping on it you will have immediately all your bat and mem information at a glance.

If you guys talking about yishin powercheck then I do have that on my blueangel for months now and not got any problem with it. I also have from the same worldtoday and tdlauch from the same place. These all are free apps and tdlaunch gives u the ability of have shortcuts on today screen.

this file don't has uninstall option but you can uninstall it manually,
1- go on your pocket pc to windows folder you will find a file called bettery.exe,,, delete it
2- now most important you have to edit the registry because the phone will be looking for battery file every time you reset it and it will give an error because you deleted it , now using any reg edit software go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init
"Launch250"="\windows\battery.exe" <= delete this key.
that should work.
please make first a backup for your pocket pc, you may need it in case something wrong happened.

Thanks for the reply; appreciate it. After I posted here, I started looking at files w/in the CAB & found the reg entry. I also thought it's _250 init meant that the corresponding pgm would get started in the order implied (basically about last if I remember correctly). Reminded me a little about the root pcs start sequence dependencies in Unix. So I removed the reg entry, restarted & the upper right icon disappeared. Then I was comfortable w/deleting the windows\battery.exe.
Rebooting, that-all looked fine. So then I thought I'd wait for your reply, to see what else I might have missed, then reply back.
Again, thanks for your reply. I think whoever built the CAB didn't build the corresponding uninstall; kind of 'hacky' to me, but, no harm.
FWIW, I'm using the kbattery executable that 'dave' posted in his post dtd Thu Mar 10, 2005 12:20. Small, works fine, can place in the Start where I want. Shows primary battery strength, which is what I'm mostly looking for most-all the time. Can click it to get more info if I want too (although it shows more detail about memory only).

I've seen a lot of posts regarding people using an extracted version of the HTC Audio manager, but most are for people using PPC. Since there is a version of this on the new Vox (smartphone) it seems it shouldn't be too tough to get it working on the Excalibur.

Mine had a reset loop error so I have to redo everything again! ARGH!!! Its not because of the Audio Manager. Its because I selected the wrong thing in WM5torage. Never installing that app again. Not worth the risk.

I downloaded & installed the player. It seems nice, but what advantage does it have over the Windows Media Player and/or TCPMP? I just started using it, so one advantage over TCPMP that I did notice is that if I get a phone call, it will stop itself, so that's pretty cool.
Is there some specific feature that people were looking for in this app?

It's more on just a simple player. An added feature is that you can set a song As a Ringtone thru that App..that's it.. i don't see any advantages of this over CorePlayer/TCPMP and Windows Media Player.
EDIT: And yes, it stops when someone calls, and gets back once the call has ended.

You know, I'm really liking this little app the more that I use it. It's just clean, simple & straightforward. I did have it freeze up on me once, but that was probably just due to memory leaking away around the app, moreso than by the app itself (Welcome to WinMob!).

I like the Audio Manager and I've got it set up in the CHome application section, but can't find the darn icon file. I've searched everywhere on the phone - is it embedded in the executable somehow and I'm just going to have to give up the ghost?

Does anyone know if this has all the dlls needed to run in the cab? I'm going to install on my blackjack, I used to have this on a different phone. It has better sound quality than wmp did.
If I can get it installed, then I'll see about getting you an icon.

hey so racerx, you've used the plug on your trinity... any idea why my battery burns down to nothing in a day? when I remove it from the today screen my battery consumption goes back to normal. maybe checking weather too often on hsdpa by itself?

personally, i'm not experiencing any battery drain issues, and i use my pda quite heavily. I think you guys were correct in thinking that it may be the weather component checking too frequently.. However, it seems you would have to be clicking on the weather component all day long for that to happen, so i don't quite follow. mine doesn't check on it's own unless clicked on..
I don't have any more news regarding auto-profiling. Mine is still switching itself to silent mode whenever it feels like it ha
I think I'll try the HTC Touch version of the homeplug instead of the Kaiser version... the quickdial on the kaiser htc home doesn't add that much and like we all know... automatic profiling is a bit dodgy atm.
I hope htc touch version doesn't have the same problems..

Did you try the modified version of the 5 button HomePlug in post #280 of the thread in the Hermes WM6 forum?
It is supposed to fix the Auto Profile problem (I suspect by disabling Auto Profile altogether, though it's button remains!)
I loaded it last night, so will see if an upcoming appointment still turns my M700 to Vibrate
ah, i haven't tried that one.. but then i'm now using PDAVIET's new rom, where the previous kaiser homeplug is cooked in to the rom.. We'll see..

The adnministrator who deleted the thread should repost at least the cabs attached there, it is a loss for the forum....
Well I've found the htc elf home plug works flawlessly. no battery drain, no dodgy automatic turning off of my audio. since the smartdial thing is a bit superfluous (i can always use the normal smartdial!!!) it is perfect!
Now if only it was a tad smaller.
I have been using the .cab with no battery issues at all.

In the programs tab of the kaiser home plug, I want to add some applications that are in the settings tab but the only one I can find is 'memory'. I cannot find 'remove programs, task manager' or 'today'. Does anyone know where to find these so I can put the .lnk into programs and have them show up in the list?

Question: Does anyone know a registry edit or what line in the .xml file edits the shortcut for messaging? I'm not talking about the key on the phone, but the shortcut on the Homescreen. When you click on the shortcut for messaging it brings you to the screen w/ Text/Multimedia, Windows Live, and New E-Mail Account... When I click on it I want it to open up IMSMS. Anyone know how?
But if anyone knows how to remap the button in the lower right, that would be helpful as well.

another thing i was going to mention was that you may loose your MMS and email functionality from that button. im not 100% sure of this but make sure you either take a screen capture or write down everything exactly as you see if you want your button to work like it used to.

Okay, restarted it, and no worky, takes me to the WM6 Messaging Screen.
So, I went and checked, and here's what's there for the value.
"\Storage Card\Program Files\Extreme Text\eXtremetext.exe" /MAILLIST
I'm going to remove the part after the quote and see what happens.

Just uninstalled it and reinstalled it to the main memory, same problems, I changed the locations so they were correct.

I have downloaded the program and does not start under WinXP ("not a valid Win32 program'); same thing happens when I put it on my Hermes ("not a valid PPC program").

Of course it was, and it had a 1005 kb size. Tried with both, Opera and IE. Will try the direct link.
Downloaded the exe file, ran it from my computer while my Hermes was connected and all went well. Great looking screen. I would like it for my Home screen.

Downloaded the exe file, ran it from my computer while my Hermes was connected and all went well. Great looking screen. I would like it for my Home screen.

Can you give a bit more detail about the security implementation side of this? Is it a direct replacement for the default password LAP? (does the installer overwrite lap_pw.dll?). Does it support master key protection?

I am not chasing the gift, abienguyen. I just wanted to see what this program can offer. So far so good, no problems seen.
Is there any way to customize the clock, skins, icons that are shown, the way the date and time are displayed, or other?

just found something i consider a bug
when setting up your password you are able create numeric password and later when you lock the device you can type it by using onscreen digits,right
but,you are also able to use "y","u","i","h","j","k","n","m","." and when you lock the device you can't type these letters by onscreen digits
so if time runs out and the device locks you won't be able to unlock it,just say goodbye and HR it
fortunately i didn't lock my device,i figured it out before i could even do it
This also happens in system lock. I experienced same situation using characters instead of numeric for my password. Hard reset needed afterward.

As i know you cannot type Alphabet characters in our settings, can you please tell us how you can enter Alphabet characters?????
We do not think that iGate will cause the Hard-reset the device.

well igate won't HR,you will,because if device is totaly locked,it's unuseable
tried it on CRC's V11 rom,and when i got keyboard to type the pass,i tried tapping the letters too (as you needed a tester) and i managed to type those letters from above, not all others...you know the rest of the story
now i tried it on CRC's V12 and i still can type same letters
furthermore i tried every other symbol and there were no problems (i couldn't type them,so it's as it should be)
i'm about to flash PDAcorner ROM V12 and then try it out,i'll keep you informed

Have you disabled system password before installing iGate? and have you use iGate setting to change the password??
We still cannot imagine how you can active the Alphabet keyboard.
Anyway we will try to findout what is the problem with your case.

Yes, it didn't change any other mod. I still have the possibility to change background in all tabs, have different layout, icons etc.
And yes, you can use the same backgrounds from other tabs or you own only for this tab.
Only problem is, that this mod didn't use landscape
There is a problem with this app and dutty's v3.3 with default start menu and programs tab enabled. When u install this software, the last tab in your manila disappears. Mine was Settings, and it was gone... So it was kinda hard to get to settings to change the tab order, but i done it and made the Music tab the last and it's gone but this Today App works fine but there one more thing, try setting "Override tab height" 200 for example in MTP settings, and at the manila tab u will see 2 halfs of backgrounds, aswell as when you hold the Today tab in manila it will show "Today Screen" on the back background, not front

you have another solution. In the config app, select today as target page. It will create a new page named today with your today plugins.
I created an extra tab nr.12 (with regedit) and copied the values from the settings(nr.11) tab to the new tab and did a reset then installed MTP did an other reset. MTP shows up as the last tab and your settings tab is still there and also now you're able to move the MTP tab around to the position you want.
From me it deleted the 3rth tab.. my SMS tab... noidea how to get it back, nor do i get an extra tab with MTP options or anything..
went to settings, added **** to my start, softresetted.. nothing..
seems like this program is a hoax ? =/ or am i just tarded ?

Be nice togehter. There are many coders outside who writes pretty good and usefull software. But these guys have only one phone!!!
Not enough money to by every actually phone to write the source for everyone. Or is there a possibillity. Ah yes. Donate and the guys can do that.....
I am a coder too. Not for phones but for industrial automation controls systems. No not Siemens, i am a lucky one .
The today plugin runs on my phone perfect. OK i have an original one. Seen my signautre. But everyone who knows a loittle bit over cocking, cabbing and manila problems, use never the install cab files. Take a klook in the file what he does and do it on the old way. Step by step with your hands and a keyboard.
And another thing is: the most people ~90% forget to do a backup before install new apps. Backup files or the complete phone. However, backup is the trick to come back every time to the original status.
The trick from us users is to feel the toughts from the coder to get an idea what he has done. Why is the button green and not black
The other part of the story is: everybody is free to install apps. Or it is the story - ahh a new driver/app, i MUST have - Why that, we humans are crazy? Thanks god the coders not
Ok back to reallity. Be nice and have respect for the work from others. Many hours of coding, coffee, meal and lovely people in the background that support coders. Give all the time contsructive comments or reports.
Ahh by the way, a report from xda that is an idea. Then every coder can use that doc for user reports. I think i have work todo today.

In the main settings from MTP there you can select to use the same background as normal, or you can use a own one. There is the possibillity too, to change the hight for your own background.
Play a while with that and you find out new things. I hope it help's.

Ok, there are 79 pages. I have done it and can find out a way on every problem. Why you not? Ok the app is an older one and so as i sayed, the coder can't do it for all the phones and the installed software. My question again. The most of you are using billy soft. Is everyone from you agree what ms have done? I don't think so. But there is all the time a solution for problems. Possible the coder can fix the problems. We have to write down all the facts and inform the owner of the app, because the coder don't take a look in every thread that talks about his app. So be nice and talk with him .

There is a setting for the offset hight for the background. Play a little bit with that. I had have problems too, but in the end i have used a different background. For me it is not so important. Important is that the apps are working. Possible the coder can fix it. We have to write down all the facts and inform the owner of the app. I hoipe it helps a little bit. What have you done in which way in which steps. Before you talking with this type of words you have todo things that the coder can follow it. But you don't have done that. What do you expect. Advise:
Please install it again, step by step. Write down what you have done. Send that to the owner off the app. Then possible you can expect help and support. So long as the owner will do something.

This all here is open source software. That means you have NO warranty of support! All the coders do that about here free will. The coder can say: discontinue. Then there is a problem.
Sometimes i think:
I as a coder, cabber and skinner must stop with my work, because there is more and more no respect for my/our work. At the end you all running without all the good stuff. Only some people have that, the coders....
