TouchFLO forgets wifi passwords - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Sprint TP2, configured a wifi network ( WPA2 PSK AES ) with the password works fine. Next time I'm in range, it pops up as an available network but I have to retype the password.
Anyone else?

Similar issue. My settings work for about 24 hours, then my router (D-link WBR-2310) refuses to assign an IP address, even though I have reserved one for the TP2. I have also tried dynamic DHCP, same result. Using WPA2 TKIP.

Similar issue here. Stock VZW Rom

Same problem here (T-Mobile Stock ROM)

It works okay for me on Sprint

Same here - I ended up storing the password using the system settings, but every now and then it still "forgets" my credentials. (TMO US TP2)

I remember reading in another thread that HTC's answer to this was to set the Power Mode (under Advanced) to Best Performance. It's helped a bit on my unlocked European TP2, but it still ocasionally gets forgetful when the wifi signal is weak.

hmm....
It worked fine on my vodafone uk rom and works fine on every custom rom i have tried.
I connect to at least 3 different wireless connections every day, and i've only ever had to enter the details once.

I have had this experience. But only when the signal was too weak. Also, it does seem more of a WM problem.
Are you using 6.1? or are you using wm 6.5? If you are using 6.5, then you should not have the problem. Atleast, that's my experience.

I agree, this has been my experience!
FWIW, the thread I was referring to in my earlier post is here:

Excellent news! I've yet to use wm 6.5, so will look forward to the update.

[Q] won't connect to data network

Hi! i'm using XDANDROID 2.2.1 with the latest update. the unknown problem that I discovered is that it whon't connect to data network. The network operator said that i dont need settings for the data connection but if the phone insists then i should use APN = ppinternet. tried bouth but didn't work! what shoul i do?!
Can you provide more info? Like, what build you're actually using? (Saying you're using "the newest" doesn't mean anything).
Also, what network operator are you on? You can make/receive phone calls/text messages?
Have you ever been able to use data on Android? Does your provider require a proxy?
this ([prj][XDANDROID][2.2.1][AOSP][24.01.11]FRX04 MINOR UPDATE. IMPROVED 3D performance)
my network operator is Digi mobil prepayd Romania. yes! i can make and receive sms/calls. no, i wasnt able never to make a data connection with my carrier.(in WM works). No, my provider works without o proxy. in fact, it works without any settings @ all. Im WM the only thing i imput for my connection to work is the connection name. the rest i leave them empty.
Try going into settings->wireless & network settings->mobile network settings->access point names->then add new apn. Set the name to Android and apn to Internet.
tried! wont work!

SOLVED! It seemd that all was fine EXEPT the RECEPTION!!! It seems that XDANDROID is'nt so good in connecting me to the network in places where WM6.1 ENERGY is!!! hope the AOSP team will get this note!
Well AOSP= Android Open Source Project so just google made the aosp and maybe the settings are wrong, for me everything is fine, and still in romania. Using latest build.

SoD's definitely are related to poor service - it seems even worse when the phone is flipping between 3g and 1x or EDGE.
If this is a problem, run WinMo - as you said, it works fine in WinMo as our current RIL is atrocious. It's being worked on, but again - this is a work in progress, still under heavy development.

[Q] Wifi issue with HTC Desire

Hi guys,
I`ve been using an HTC Desire the last couple of weeks and to avoid overloading my dataplan when I am at home I use my WiFi. It worke just fine `till today , when the phone connects as always but it cannot load any Internet pages or open any apps that use the Internet. If I switch to 3G it works just fine, when I go back to Wifi it stops working again.
The phone shows up on the DHCP Lease List in the Router Admin page. I can ping with no loss of data. I`m clueless to what might have happened.
Please help.
Thank you
Try changing channels on your router.
Remember seeing a post about this awhile back.

it worked just fine. THANKS A LOT. although i don`t really get why it worked till today. thanks again.
Not a problem. Just remember to help others when you can.
I'm having the same issue, WiFi connects fine but there's no data. Tried it all, different radios, changing WiFi channels on my router, different ROMs, etc. but nothing worked. Meanwhile an old Nokia E71 works like a charm with the same router... what can this be?
In your Wifi Advanced settings, you can select number of channels in Regulatory Domain. Also, check your WiFi sleep policy, and set it to Never.
Might help

Only other suggestion I can think is to change your RIL.
There is a thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902752
Do you have good 3G, calls signal etc?
I use the latest (17) radio any the Nexus (1001G) RIL and have no issues.

Tried different RILs...
This is the thing, just went to my office and it works fine with a router over there. It fails to work at home, where it DID work in the past as well. All other devices I have are working fine with my home router except for Desire... Any ideas?
CM7, RC3 Rom has this option.
Can't think of any other issue with a home Wifi setup.
I dunno if my problem is wifi related, but when using K-9 Mail, Yahoo and Gmail always returns unsent, with the "Message not sent, connection reset by peer" error always appearing. It wasn't like this before, and my wifi works okay with my laptop. Market on my phone works flawlessly too. Anyone got an idea of what might've gone wrong?

Tricky....
Logic - on the day the problem occurred, something changed on a) your router, b) your hanset. Did you do any updates, flashing etc. or were there any updates to your router ISP? New tariff or anything, maximum number of connections?

I did flash LeeDroid 3.03, coming from 3.02... then rolled back to 'fix' the issue but it persisted. I tried then flashing _most_ available radios, RILs and ROMs so I think it's router related. Now, why would this be the case if all other devices connect just fine to the same router? Does Desire have some issues with 802.11N routers?

HTC One not saving some WiFi profiles

Recently, some of my saved WiFi profiles no longer seem to save. Certain networks are remembered and connected to when in range, and some require me to re-enter credentials and everything every single time. It's as if I've never been on the network.
The phone is bone-stock and I believe the issue started after the latest OTA update. If it matters, the main network I'm having trouble with is 802.1x / ttls / pap.
Wondering if something about the update or Verizon apps I've disabled in the settings is borking some permissions with a wifi conf.
Any ideas?
no success fixing yet bump
Yeah, it's not related to the network. This network is @ a corporate office and every other of the 3000 devices on the network is doing fine

Just moved from Viper 5.7 to bonestock 3.02 and can't get it to remember home wif password after a reboot as well. Has anything changed for others affected? It happens with some ROMs for me. FWIW, wife's unrooted One has same issue. Luckily for us we have a dual radio router and thus can use the 5 GHz side.

Can someone please help me with DNS?

I had many phones and I had many troubles with DNS. Now it is the G4. It seems DNS just stops working sometimes. YouTube just cuts, webpages cannot resolve DNS address. I have to disable WiFi and then enable again to get webpages/internet to work again. When DNS stops working the phones works hard and gets hot and drains battery like hell. I had this problem with Samsung phones too.
It's not my router or internet connection because everything else works (my computers and servers) and I have changes routers many times.
Is this android? WiFi drivers? As i said, it cannot be my network. I use google DNS 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4. I have also tried static IP/DNS address.
This I had with others phones too. Never apple phones though... So it seems like an android problem? Of course I have tried resetting my phone and reinstalling.
Anyone with any useful tips or solutions here? Getting tired of this problem...
What connection are you using? WiFi, mobile Internet? If you're using a router, what model is it? Are you using VPN by any chance?

It's only in wifi. Disable wifi and everything works (4G), then enable wifi again and wifi is OK. Router is brand new asus top model. I also used D-Link and several other asus models. Never used VPN.

By dhcp. I also used static dns.
Why are you using static DNS? Are you by any chance using a DNS to bypass geolocation? Are any other devices connected to the WiFi having the same issues? This looks a little bit like an issue that is independent of the G4. When you are setting up a static DNS, it may conflict with the other settings. I am using the DNS from the Internet provider, I am not touching any settings for WiFi and I never had issues unless the Internet connection itself had issues (like last week with the DDoS attack from the IoT devices). Maybe it is an issue with your Internet provider.

I use dhcp, but have tried with static. The only thing that hasn't changed is my provider, but as I said, everything else is working except my g4. Same with my Samsung s5, note 3.
There is a "Network settings reset" in Settings -> Backup & reset. Try it. If you can update to a newer version, do it, it will clear Dalvik Cache. I think there is something wrong with one of the system apps. If your G4 is rooted, then just clear Dalvik Cache from TWRP. I would also delete the WiFi AP and reconnect. Did you check the router for the IP it gives the G4? Maybe there is a conflict with another device, if you're setting IPs using MAC address.

Tried all that. Reinstalled the phone several times by the way.
My router gives IP adresses to all my devies and thats a lot og devices. If there is a conflict you know right away and more the other devices who is conflicting will also not work. Every other device works except my G4 UNTIL i disable wifi and then enable it, like within 5 second. Just disable and enable wifi and everything is back to normal.
Do you have the international G4 with European Rom? Try flashing v20i with LG Up or with LG Bridge. I really do not have any other idea.

Never fixed the issues with those two phones... just had to live with it disabling wifi and enabling again... several times a day. Sometimes after a short while and sometimes after a longer time.
Then I would say that it is not a problem with the phone, maybe with Android. What exact model is the router?

Yeah it has to be a problem with android VS my internet router perhaps. It's weird because I've been through jellybean -> marshmallow.. My internet provider router is Norwegian one (inteno something).
My network:
internet -> internet provider router (inteno) -> ASUS RT-AC68U as access point -> phone.
IP adresses is recieved by the inteno router.
So maybe my phones don't like the internet provider router. Will have to test more when I get fiber internet with a brand new router.

Connectivity issues

Hello,
I have the global version of the mi9SE and experiencing very annoying issues when trying to access certain websites OVER MOBILE NETWORK (WIFI works) which returns errors as per attached screen shots, reporting certain sites (banking particulary) as can't be found or offline.
I temporarily managed to fix the issue by changing APN settings from IPV6 to IPV4 as per a suggestion on the forum of my French network carrier. Unfortunately with the update to android 10 and MIUI 11 erased these settings and now 4g or 3g for that matter simply fails to connect over IPV4 setting after update so I’m back to square one which is immensly irritating.
I can’t work out if this is a carrier issue or a software bug. I’ve tried the following :
- Changing Sim to another phone. No problems there.
- Changing browser. Both chrome and edge are the same as well as the native browser.
- Contacting bank who tell me issue not unheard of but have no solution.
- Contacting my carrier who claim not to have an answer.
I haven’t tried another sim in the handset.
Help would be much appreciated.
Hi
I also use French carrier, bouygues, using android 10 miuimix, just tried ing website and it works fine through 4g.
Have you tried a different ROM? You should have a menu to erase connectivity data in settings may be it could help

Hi thanks for your reply. Vey strange, I too am on Bouygues network and ING website doesn't work for me.
However I must point out that it is the secure part of the website that doesn't work so logging into the "espace client" part of the account, the home page DOES work. Same for you or not ?
I don't understand how it can only be me experiencing this issue which I've had for months now despite doing a factory reset, formatting etc. I'm using the stock global rom OTA from Xiaomi. I surely shoudln't have to flash another rom to get a working phone. I take it Miuimix is a ROM you're using on the Mi9SE ? Just how stable and secure is it ?
tks
MY WIFI hotspot won't work either. It connects to the network but refuses to connect to the internet. No such problem when placing the same sim into another phone and setting up the same hotspot. Could this be a problem with my device hardware I wonder ? I haven't done anything in particular...but these issues weren't there when I first bought the device.
For Hotspot I guess it's related to Android 10 update...
Just tried the secure part of the ing website and indeed it doesn't work for me neither on 4g. But Hotspot works fine.

Great thanks so much for trying at least I know it isn't just and so can conclude an issue with MIUI and the phone. Strange how adjusting VPN settings to IPV4 used to work but now doesn't. I fear the issue is embedded into the OS and I'll probably never find a solution . Wouldn't be so bothered if this was the only site but it's not. I first thought it was just a problem with the websites, then realized it wasn't when the same sites worked over WIFI.
As for the WIFI hotspot issue, still no solution to this problem. The same sim is fine in my Motorola and connects to the internet perfectly over 5ghz band. If I try 5ghz band on the SE, windows simply reports "unable to connect to the network" and over the 2.4ghz the device network will connect but reports "no internet".
It doesn't sound as If the two issues are related from what you say. Is it possible it's the windows firewall blocking the Xiaomi but not the motorola ?
