tvtuner card for pocketpc - General Accessories

HI GUYS....
i am new to this site..
but i am very impressed with your advices...
guys can u tell me whether there is some sort of tv tuner card available to watch tv on htc p3400i pocketpc..thanks in advance........

everything usb will not work as it don't have usbhost so it can't use other usb devices just act as usb device to the pc which is usbhost
you could google sdio tvcard
but to tell you the truth when it only have a 200Mhz cpu I'm not sure
how well it would play if you find a sdio tvcard

Search for old Gigabyte ppcs.. They have TV receivers on board.

not a TV, but there's much streaming. myPlayer, for example, or go to www.todaypda.com (use coreplayer can cope well, but old TCPMP and WMP do ok too).

HI.

The Internet explorer Mobile , 2 mega pixel ,Music. Tv on the BA

i heard it was possible to watch tv on your BA..? is this true? if so what software should i download? thanks
if u want to stream it off your computer (assuming u have a tv tuner card) u need either windows media encoder 9, or video lan client.
Check out videohelp.com for tutorials on streaming tv over the internet. Just use your GPRS or WiFi to watch it, the same way you would using a laptop/computer.
You can also use ORB for this...

I know there are compact flash tv-tuners avail now...I wish there was either a SD/IO tv-tuner, or a way to use compact flash stuff on my 6600.

Playing movies from Wireless HDD

Im using a Wireless HDD (AGOSY Network Drive) connected to an AP to give it wireless capabilities. This has been installed wth a 12V connection to be able to be powered from the car battery.
I am having probems with the file system when its acessed from the PDA especialy. The enclusure is ARGOSY Network enclosure and when playing media from TCPMP/MediaPayer or PocketPlayer or any other movie player, seeking is not possible and most .AVI files are not playable from within the HDD. While the same .AVI files if copied to the StorageCard the seeking works fine and the vdeos which don't play directly from Wireless system play well directly from the storage card.
Is anyone having the same problem with their wireless network drive or is this a problem with the type of network encosure used?
hmmm... can you play it from your computer share? through wireless or USB
i dont quite understand your question. :?
i have an asus wl-hdd 2.5 and a o2 exec
from standard i could find the hard drive through wifi and form a partnership but i was unable to browse the contents of the hard drive
to remedy this i installed resco file explorer , this then gives you a network file which you will have to map,
you are unable to search for files through tcmp or wm player but with resco installed you can search the directory of your hard drive and press on what you want to play.
i find tcmp a better player for media streaming than wm player
i think i now understand your question when you mean seeking do you mean the time slider.
if so yes i can place it in a chosen spot and play the movie from that spot.
there will be a few second time lag before it initiates playing.
1 what speed is you wireless hard drive connection
2 what size are the movies you are trying to play
3 what resolution are the movies you are trying to play
i find that 640x480 movies will jam up quite alot but 320x240 movies work smoothly
if it jams up i normaly lose my wifi connection (must confuse the hard drive os)

Simply NO, unless you get an SD card that can do it!
I thought there was a power point presenter hardware that worked on the sx66 (blue angel I think) I think it went into the sd slot and had computer output, not sure about the specs on it. I did find this on mobile planet: http://www.mobileplanet.com/p.aspx?i=139433
If you check the web, you can probably find others.

What about DLNA?

I take it neither of the Desire Z or HD have capabilities to connect to a HDTV via a cable... but the Desire HD was shown to have DLNA compatibility.
does anyone know if the Desire Z will have DLNA compatibility out of the box??
Also would it be via Wifi? i.e if i had a HDTV with Wifi and DLNA compatibility - i wouldnt need anythin else?? (or even the ps3...)
i vaguely remember the Touch Pro, or TP2 having TV-Out, i dont exactly like the idea of being strapped to a tv via a cable, but anyone reckon a mod could be made to duplicate screens?
on a final note, there is an app on the market that claims to add DLNA compatibilty to your current android device - couldnt get it to work (didnt really try hard enough tbh)
According to the spec at http://www.htc.com/uk/product/desirez/specification.html (Multimedia section) , yes, the Desire Z has DLNA.
While waiting for my Desire Z to arrive...
I have an AZBox HD satellite received and can install something like ushare or something which basically (so they say) makes it DLNA capable.
EDIT: I've just read that my Qnap TS-219P Turbo NAS also had DLNA, and all my multimedia is stored on it.
How, in few words, would I be able to use this on my phone?
I know NOTHING about DLNA yet
htc's official promotional video says that it has it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_player&v=KUeW6-HTtSU
I'm running the desire HD rom and I have a pre-installed htc app called 'push media'. I lets you share photos, video and music via wifi
I can not find DNLA the specifications to the G2 but "z" has it.
so maybe it's better with a z then a G2
I'm surfing on youtube every day to see the latest news on the G2 and it appears that no one has 4gig memory it the same as the z 2gig
It can be the HTCSense, I want to put it on my G2
I belive there is also an HTC option for connecting it to HDTV with cable if the TV is not DLNA compatible.

You sure about that? How? I don't recall it having a video-out port (but I could be wrong)

I saw it briefly in the official HTC Desire Z marketing video. Looks like a little hub that changes micro-usb/usb cable to HDMI.
I imagine it's similar to this Samsung Micro USB to HDMI cable:
*can't post link but there is one on the market*
From advertising there's no HDMI output on HTC Vision.. and well, in G2 forums there isn't anyone that claims that Vision has got HDMI output.
DLNA is only a WiFi data sharing program, I've tried it on my old Motorola Milestone and it's really, really useless.
However, I've tried it for sharing with my PC as I haven't got a TV that supports DLNA, so maybe I'm wrong when I say that it's useless, but anyway the last hope is getting TVOut from 3.5mm jack as some phones and cameras can output video signal from there (analog, not HDMI).
I'm running mdeejay's desire z 1.3 rom on my hd2. I have a Samsung 46" C670 series TV. I have the TV wired to my router. When I'm on wifi with the phone I can control the TV through the 'Connected Media' app and view pics, vids, and music.

There's a micro usb to HDMI cable sold by Samsung and I believe HTC has a similar option.

There it is! Much appreciated.
here we go - have my Desire Zeee in hands for second day . Regarding dlna:
- watching content from dlna servers (pc, synology disc station) on the phone is there out of the box via "gallery" application where you can choose "connected media" which scans your wifi network and finds compatible sources. Have managed to see photos and play songs, but not video as "format not supported". Anybody know where supported formats can be found?
- watching content on your phone via TV that supports dlna: it not there out of the box, but there are apps that makes phone a "dlna server". Have used "twonky serverver mobile" that seems to be free and do the job, but again: photos and musing from phone on my TV is ok, but not video (at least for me: my TV - Philips...- dlna client does not support 3gp to which Zeee is recording via camera).
I'm guessing most of your videos are downloaded movies in divx or xvid format. The Desire Z does not play these.
The DLNA sharing facility is in the manual so that you can share media off the phone onto a PS3 etc but I haven't got it to work yet...still trying.
I just got it to work with Windows Media Player!!! On the PC, you need to go into Media Player, Stream menu, and tick "Allow remote control of my player". Then go onto phone, All apps, Connected Media, pick Music, then choose your PC name, and it will play on the PC!! And you can control it from the phone!! Awesome. Works with vids and pics too.

You can use the app arcmedia from market to play these.
I've also used the twonky media server app to stream a divx downloaded movie via dlna from the phone to the tv, via a ps3.
Works beautifully.
cool! works for me as well from cell > computer. does it go from computer > cell tho?

[Q] Best video options on the A7?

I am new to Android & would really like to us my A7 to access both online hosted Streaming Video (movies & TV shows) as well as host my DVDs on my internal network.
I had hoped to use Netflix but research on the web indicates that isn't a go on Android without newer, possibly embedded hardward based, DRM solutions. I did see a post about Amazon and RockPlayer but not really much else to go on.
Can people reply and indicate what are the best Streaming Video sites (& client being used to access those sites) for the A7? If you need to use one for movies & one for TV shows please list multiple...
Can people also reply with more insight on how they are hosting & consuming their own DVD collections? Specifically I would like to know:
What did they use to rip their DVDs?
Where do they host them (off a PC? a NAS?, etc)?
What client do they use on the Android A7 to access them?
What protocol (NFS?,CIFS?,SFTP?,etc) does the A7 use to access their DVDs?
For reference I have multiple options available to me at home inclucing RedHat Enterprise Linux & a few other flavors, Win 7, Win XP, and a central NAS device.
tv shows
for tv shows I like (tv shows stream) from the market
Playon seems to work well for me and it will let you stream Netflix and other sites kinda expensive 5amonth or 80 for a lifetime.

When I get back from Spring Break I want to try Playon. I don't like the idea of another subscription but it seems really flexible. It might also allow me to watch Hulu through my bluray player (which stopped supporting it) so that is a big plus... Being able to centralize all of that to a central computer and shoot it to my TV, laptop, and Android A7 would be great.
The Netflix.apk is available as beta for Android. I installed on my A7 and can manage my account, queue and search. When I launch a live stream of instant movies it says can not connect to Netflix servers please try again.
My research is that they won't allow netflix to natively run on Android without some Digital Rights Management (DRM) capabilities (currently too open) built into. Some Android device makers may be releasing some newer models that allow for this and the native netflix should work for them but maybe never for us if it is a hardware based implementation...
That being said, the Netflix over playon seems to be working OK for me as I went ahead and set it up before traveling for Spring Break... Both Netfilx & hulu worked fine on my home LAN and was working OK on my hotel WIFI for a few hours but isn't for some reason right now.
I need to replace my home router so that I can take the current router with me as it turns my 3g/4g USB device into a personal portable WiFi (kinda like a geeky MIFI). Currently that router uses both my DSL & USB cellular data card together at home and I didn't have time to do that before I left and if I took it with me my home would have been down and I wouldn't be able to serve playon from home while traveling...
Tv.com also works well on these devices
