Hi guys,
Not sure if this should in the forum or the Themes & Apps one but I'll begin here. Is anyone else using Seven to reveive push mail? I've had to stop using it and revert to pull IMAP with my Yahoo mail because the Seven client has stopped working.
It worked fine on Dutty's Leo R2 but then stopped on R3. As R3 was so buggy I thought that might be it but it still wouldn't work on the otherwise excellent R4.
This morning I switched to NRG's latest release of the Leo ROM and still no go. Makes me think it might be an issue with the underlying WM build as I can't see how Manilla would affect the installation of apps.
Whenever I try to install the .cab I am informed that an unhandled exception has occured and that the program will now close.
Anyone with any suggestions (other than to switch to GMail and use the the new push - I can't do that as I already have an Exchange account set up)?
Once again, apologies if this is the wrong forum - Fallen Spartan, feel free to move this if necessary.

You are not alone this is bugging me too I have tried almost every leo based rom and I get the same damn issue!! I can't pin point whats causing this bug I have now reverted to standard manila 2.1 rom until Seven release a newer version that addresses this issue!
What I don't understand was that it worked with both Dutty's Leo test and R2. It only stopped working when I updated to R3 and R4 and not NRG's ROM.
I've posted over on the SEVEN Community as well but so far no luck.
--edit--
Link to other forum here.
Update for you I've just flashed between dutty's leo R5 rom and miri's leo v9.1 again damn thing doesn't work shame I really like these two rom's IMHO the best leo based rom's currently! I think it worked on miri's v7.1 rom!
Are you saying it works on NRG's Rom? because I did flash his latest version it didn't work???
Sorry, just re-read my last post, it's not very clear is it!
I flashed to NRG this morning to see if it was just problem with Dutty but it doesn't work there eaither. Saw R5 a couple of hours ago but seeing as I only flashed this morning I was going to wait a while to see how buggy R5 was and then take the plunge to see if SEVEN would work.
Thanks for informing me that it doesn't! I might stick with NRG for a while but the battery drain is massive compared to a Dutty ROM. No doubt I'll be on R5 by the weekend!
SEVEN did work on the last Miri ROM I was on (REV 7.0). First ROM I had problems with was Dutty's R3.
Has anyone tried it out on R14 of his non-Leo 6.5 ROMs?
Love Dutty's ROMs but really need to use SEVEN! Might just have to flash back to R2.....but all the goodies from a more complete Leo ROM....oh decisions, decisions!

Did you get any answer or did you resolve this issue
I don't use seven!!!! give it a try to emoze, it's free and it works on latest rom! i have got push mail sync with my hotmail account.
Hi
Same problem here using Laurentius26 WM6.5 V2 WWE rom.
Its a shame cuz i really like this rom its fast and stable.
Jay
Same here on Dutty R4/5.
luckily Gmail has started pushing so I no longer need seven.
Try Google mail its working very good, \you can sync contacts, calendar and emails and its for FREE
Hello
Any updates and or solutions?
Jay
It looks like folks at Seven haven't even been able to replicate the problem since none of them seem to have Manila 2.5 which is causing the problems... So I guess it'll take a while for the problem to get solved.
It would be so good if people didn't jump in here with those "use emoze instead" or "gmail has push" advices. Emoze isn't really free (i.e. the free version is utterly crippled), they have the crappiest of sites (I can't even figure whether they support IMAP or not), and Gmail push is useless if you already use Exchange at work. More importantly, this thread is about Seven, not just any type of push mail.
Hello
Well with the release of WM 6.5 lets hope a solution will be provided.
Unless Seven works with the latest builds?
I tried up to duttys R5 and it dosn't work
Jay
I have had the same problem as my work uses Sevens solution.
In my quest for Rom with Manila 2.5 where it works i found: XannyTechROM GRID LEO 1.6 M2.5 (WM 21867.5.0.81) This works fine for me.
Im just wondering wether its the WM build 21867 or its the Manila version (2.5 1919xxx i think but i'm not sure)
Allthough good news, i'm still hoping to find it working on other Roms as i'm no too fond of that particular Rom.
So any input of other Roms where Seven is working are more than welcome.

So it would seem the problem is the later os versions since duttys R5 is the same Manila but a later os version (23016) and it dosnt work on that Rom.
On the other hand in this post someone claims it worked for him on a 23016 based rom...
Jay
Hello
I see a new Rom with a later version of manila (1920) has anyone tried seven on that rom yet?
Jay
This issue seems to be related with the new leo sms client. Asked you you cooked to try newer leo sms client (e.g. version 1.43, 1.41, 1.28).
Seven working on ROM: MaryOne X0.03☻Build 23502 COM5☻Leo 1.41
Hi,
I installed the newest MaryOne X0.03, Build 23502 with Leo 1.41 last week and yesterday I took the plunge and installed Seven (downloaded the latest Consumer edition from the Seven Beta program).
No installation problems and it is working just fine
I am receiving my e-mails from Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo.
I did install it to the Main Memory and it is one of the first programs I installed, after testing the MaryOne X0.03 rom to see if was stable enough for daily use.
Hi
thanks for the info.
I flashed that ROM and it works perfect indeed.
i just flashed duttys holy grail and seven works on this too.

I have looked at the wiki for cooked WM6 ROMs, however I am confused as to which one is best for an Orange SPV M3100?
Do all of these work on the M3100 as some say XDA?
It seems that the vanilla one has a few problems with missing icons, sd card dropping, remote desktop missing, no video calling etc.. Are there specific patches for these problems or do you have to put a different ROM on there?
Thanks
Mark
I'm running WM6 for Hermes LVSW Edition (2007-03-15) (WM6 Pro Style) on my M3100, and it runs really nicely. You can enable the video call skin easily on it. Only thing that doesn't work properly (and is the same on ALL WM6 roms so far) are voicemail notifications - they come through as test messages. Not a big problem though.
I use the same version as above. The black edition does seem a bit faster but it seems to have problems with the latest version of spb weather. LVSW has no problems with this so i would say its the most stable which is a shame, Black Edition just looks so dam sexy. Voicemail notifications are not a problem for me because I use my device on 3 UK who sent a text for voicemails anyway.
Just remember if you decide to take the plunge to WM6:
Goodlink will only work on WMXL v.20/.21
You must have Activesync 4.5 installed to sync your device
Push email will only work with Exchange 2007
S.K.

I beg to differ on the exchange 2007 bit, my push email is working fine and we use Exchange 2003 SP2 at my work.
I'm running the WMXL on an Orange SPV M3100 and it runs fine! The push mail is working with an Exchange 2003 SP2 server, and it works except for the HTML. If you want HTML and push mail with Exchange, you need Exchange 2007.
Is it possible to apply all changes/differences to the Vanilla version that exist in the LVSW version or do you have to blast the phone away and start again?
Thanks
Black Edition has problems while putting device on sleep
call accept and call disconnect many times keep lit
also I had alarm fire up failure
It's trully a FAST release but I think It eats up battery much more faster
WMXL if the stablest I've used till now
with no major problems ...
PLEASE to all Cookers
REMOVE the nifty Registry editor
The Included Task manager already has THE BEST Registry manager I've ever seen that has the ability to search, Import and export.
It's trully amazing software!
also Please do your best to If possible to optimize ROM
so as at end of customization the free RAM count to be around 29~30MB...
I would go with Black Edition..Very Quick.
Orange SPV M3100 and LVSW WM6 Pro even for me.....really stable and clean rom!....give it a try ;-)
I am currently running the WM6 Black Edition and so far I like this WM6 ROM the most. It really works quickly and is stable for me...this is the most important feature!
My only issues with it are that Spb Pocket Plus cannot be installed and that sometimes TomTom 6 does not see the maps on the storage card. The TomTom issue can be solved by simply removing and inserting the memory card. The Pocket Plus issue is going to continue for a while. However, there is not much you could miss from that with WM6 and all that is included.
The LVSW version from 3/13 was excellent as well. It did not have any of the problems I mentioned and was almost as quick. It uses the old WM5 dialer in the phone though. Both perform the same function but in the Black Edition it just looks better.
So far I am not sure which is BEST, but the LVSW version never gave me a problem. The Black Edition has shown to little issues, as I mentioned, but it is quicker and looks much better.
I don't know why someone said that Voicemail notifications arrive as text messages. On my phone, with all of the ROMs I have used, they arrive as normal with the VoiceMail icon in the top bar.

OK, the LVSW ROM was deliberately built with the faulty tadzio toolchain in order to prevent people editing it, and I'm pretty sure this is also the reason it's causing issues with the new SPLs... therefore, I can only suggest everyone avoid LVSWs releases till he uses the new toolchain.
jasjamming's ROMs are a good alternative and are recommended.
Good info!!
Somehow LVSW's edition runs SPB without an issue. I like SPB Pocket Plus, weather and Shell, but it wont run smooth under Black edition.... Hope the next release improves...
Hmm that sounds kinda messed up...
I like both ROMs...honestly I just want a "clean" ROM where I can add all my stuff...
Black is nice but I think its loaded with too much stuff I don't use...like vjtools and such (tho they are nice, it sure makes a mess out of my programs screen).
I'm just waiting for 2.0 so I can use Live Messenger again ^_^
Just my 2 cents

The 0326 LVSW edition can be edited with no problem. I use 0326 LVSW as a based and cooked a few roms and flashed/booted with no problems.
@akarandomjames
Yeah I agree... Right now I'm using LVSW because it's the cleanest I can get: only the useful hacks have been done (especially the last version), no adding useless programs. I tried 3DES yesterday as well but definitely too many programs there. The BIG problem I have with LVSW is that I can't find IP telephony, which is and should remain a part of WM6.
But I agree, what I would love is a ROM that has the problems and bugs of WM6 worked out (like LVSW), so that I don't need to touch the registry (actually I do, but that's only because I'm adding Japanese input and removing the others) or install any hacks. AND this ROM should keep the features of basic WM6 (IP telephony, like Black or 3DES). AND this ROM shouldn't add any programs! I mean whenever I install Linux on my computer, I choose what programs I want. I don't want to get programs which I can't even erase!
This sounds like a lot of complaining, and I'm sorry it does, but I think it's more of a critic that these cooked ROMs are getting already too bloated. It's a typical Geek/Engineer problem to want to add as many features as possible in one package... But let people choose by letting them install the programs they really want.
I'm sure the answer could be "cook your own ROM"! And I guess I will. But right now I don't have time... just starting to work, moving to Japan in 10 days, etc. busy busy... And I respect, admire, and love the work the ROM cookers are doing. You're incredible, guys!
Yannick
As I understand it and please correct me if I'm wrong (will help me avoid a blind alley) The basic WM6 OS with HTC drivers and apps could be included in the main rom and then all the fancy bits that we may or may not need/want included in the extended rom. Then those who don't want it need not install it and either can install the bits they do want the hard way or if they feel brave can cook there own extended rom so hard resets only need a quick resync...

Disagree.
I'm using LVSW since some days without any problems and as far as I remember the white screen is also reported with jasjamming's black edition, for instance here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1198178&postcount=950
But maybe I'm just a lucky guy without troubles and the problem described in the link above is a different one
Nonetheless I'm waiting for kyphurs new rom, hope he will release it within the next week.
Damn, and just after I decide to go to LVSW yesterday (I was still on XDA Live 0.10).
I think, thanks to the RUU Wrapper and Hard SPL I avoided any issues with the white screen (fingers crossed) - so thanks for that - but I'm definitely waiting for XDA 0.30 and hopefully a cab for Windows Live as Black doesn;t really suit me.
Agree with gerald_s. Same here. No issues at all with either of the 2{5,6}/03 versions. Maybe this comes down to hardware differences (i.e. G3/G4 DOC flash etc.). My JASJAM is a recent one, S/N HT649.
No problems with a HTC TyTN and LVSW 20070326. No blank screen at all.
I am also doing well with the ROM and installed SPB Mobile Shell, Pocket Plus, Wather, Palm thresded SMS... all working fine, i need to Hard reset after the ROM flushing as it was requested on the forum..
ey, i noted this....
A week ago + or - i have got upgraded my TyTN to HardSPL 1.10 and the upgraded to LVSW (all the versions, minus 2(5-6)/03) and Black 1.1 & 1.2 and when take a look to info 8 have no bad block in any case.
Yesterday upgrade to HardSPL 1.40, and before upgrade to LVSW 26/03 take a look to info 8, and bad blocks appears (3 bad blocks). Then upgrade to LVSW 26/03 and works fine, all working good, no problem at all.
Regards.
jasjamming has been doing some tests, it looks like there may be further issues even with the newer versions. watch this space.

I wasn't complaining about space...I actually just want something as close to an "original WM6" as I can get.
So I ran LSVW's and soft reset right after setting up my device so none of that 3 second crap was installed...installed fixes and tweaks myself...and everything is running fine.
I'm just waiting (a long time) for Cingular's release of WM6 for the 8525...and waiting for some new kitchens to open up ^_^
Hopefully by then, I'll be able to understand how to cook my own roms.

Hello all,
With all the awesome chef's in the kitchen it is hard to ask this question... but I will.
I would like to know what the most stable WM6 rom is, In your opinion.
I have used Black 2.0... for 2 weeks (seemed flawless)
Then I tried Tried 2.5 then LVSW, and even Custel's ROM but get random freezes, I grab the phone and its froze, missed how many calls?? I can't have this.
Something I might be doing you say, possible but I have even installed no additional apps, and only sync to exchange. I see others having some various issues with differnet roms. So this prompted me to ask the question I have.
So whats the most stable ROM?
i use black 2.5 with his new memory.cab and works great no problems. what programs are you using b/c it may be related to them. maybe use sktools to delete some unneccesary programs from starting on boot and go from there.
Black 1.2 with a weeks+ of working it to perfection. No need to flash anything else for me until WM7 comes out. lol
Coming back to a froze device sounds like you have the sd card lockups, and not rom related, but if you dont have a card installed, dismiss my post.
I was using Black 2.5, I have a lot of freezes in particular when I activeSync and I do activeSync A LOT, (freeze about every 3rd time I activeSync). A few miss call, and call which I have no audio.
I switch to LVSW 4/23 (FULL version), currently with the same applications installed on Black 2.5, my phone seems to be running well, no freezes yet for half a day already. (ActiveSync more than 10 times already)
I am not saying there is any problem with Black 2.5 rom. A lot of people are very happy with Black 2.5. What I am simply saying is that with the set of applications that I need (a few of them are beta apps), LVSW seems more compatibility than Black.
P.S. Using PhoneAlarm, PocketInformat, CEStar, ISilo, Cyberon Voic Speed Dial, and SplashID
I've had no freezing issues, only app I install is im+
I am running Black 2.5 and I too am having similar ActiveSync problems. And it freezes every third time as well. Strange....

Previously I was using Black 2.0 and never had one freeze. But since I upgraded to 2.5 I get random freezes like couple times a day, I suspect this could be due to the new OS build? Once I have time I would probably reflash it back to 2.0 cuz it's rock stable for me.
Black 2.5 is working sweet as for me.
Couple of freezes with LVSW and XDA Live, but nothing major, i had freezes with the OEM rom, its just what phones and computers seem to do these days!!
I;ll stay Black, but at the end of the day, use the rom, which you think you will get the best community support, has the best community friendliness and if you ever do have troubles, you shouldnt be troubles trying to fix them!
keep in mind that these ROMs are essentially beta (even if based upon the "final" WM6). they do not undergo the rigorous testing that a carrier would provide.
if you are unwilling to deal with this (and RTFW for answers), then you might be better sticking with the factory shipping WM5 roms...
I like Custel's rom, support is there, and rom is quick n smooth
LVSW 4/23
The full version of LVSW 4/23 is the most stable so far for me. This is the first of the WM6 ROMS I can open and run Netfront, Newsbreak, Pocket IE, Messaging, Camera, Resco Explorer, get a phone call at the same time and still have no freezing. I did a little tweaking to it, but out of the gate it is just fine. All I really needed to install in the Keyboard fix and the Cingular settings.
noop, the reason you freeze alot or crashes alot is becoz of CE-Star..all i know is LVSW does not have the problem, but all other rom does...
Don't use the one from WM5, i remember there is a lite version on this fourm (topic x01ht showing chinese or sth)
Why i know, coz i just install ce-star on black, it will never work..it will crash almost anything...The guy who made the lite has a re-edit version of Ce-star for crossbow, that you have to try your own..since all i need is viewing~
They are all good!

We are all one big happy community here at XDA Developers!
For me with the earlier round of ROMS LVSW 4/23 worked the best. Zero problems. Haven't finished trying out the latest batch yet so I can't say. The bottom line is that with these ROMS you really do have to try them all and make your decision on which one best meets your needs when coupled with the software that you use.
All of these cooks are turning out some nice ROMs, the problems are more frequently caused by programs that are not yet certified for WM6 and the cooks, of course, have no control over this.
I would also suggest not to use any program to clean your OS, e.g. memory maid as it seems become unstable for all rom after cleaning the system with this kind of software.
Hi all,
Thanks for all your responses. I agree support from this forum family is awesome. I also agree with trying several roms to find the one that best fits my needs (but I don't yet know what they are, I just moved from a treo 650, and prior was a treo 600)
I am on LVSW now, I will try it for a bit and see how it goes. I do like Custels as well... Hmmm decisions, decisions. lol
Well thanks again for your responses and thant you Chefs for all your diligent work. You're the Kings in my book.
Comparison Page???
Would it be posible for the creators of the roms to tell us ALL of the bells and whistles that each of them has on it, and someone could compile a chart or page to compare them all? Obviously, the Voice Dial function is important to me, and I dig the Space Invaders, but there is so much more. I would be glad to do it if I could get the info on each with which to begin. As for Stability; is there a way to do a survey that would allow us to rate them according to the opinion of the users here regarding speed of boot/reset and stability and whatever anyone else can think of?
I recently moved to the Dutty Premier Windows Mobile 6 - Full Edition - Version 1 and So far I am very happy with it. And it appears to have all the tools and toys I want and need . . . so far.
Thanks,
If one doesn't already exist, someone please set up a wiki page for comparisons and we'll sticky it.

The only WM6 ROM I have upgraded to is Custel's Cingular 1.2. It was a problem free upgrade and I have not experienced a single freeze and the only soft resets I have done were those required to install other applications. Unless someone, including HTC or Cingular, comes out with a version that adds features that I can't live without (and are not added to these cooked ROM's on this forum as CABs), I will be happy to stay with my current version.
Hi all
I would like to known the more simple and shure way to make BBconnect 4 up and running with WM6.
My TYTN running actualy the Schap's ROM version 3.57a.
please HELP ME.
HTC TYTN
ROM Schap's 3.57a
radio 1.48.00.00
Protocol 32.81.70.20.20W
CE OS 5.2.1437 (Build 17944.0.3.1)
Ask Schap nicely to hex edit his Rom so it works with BB Connect.......otherwise use Slueth's Rom which already works with BB Connect.
I've been quite happy using Slueth's Rom and have no complaints!

vp3G and Sleuth both have BBC version. I can post links for Schap and Black Satin tonight. But if you are comfortable with entry level hacking - it is a trivial job to make any ROM based on latest official ATT or Dopod releases to be compatible with BBC on Hermes. There was a lot of discussions and questions answered here on this subject last few days if you'll desire to know more and "Howto". Regards

Hi Khristopher
I too am trying to get Blackberry working reliably on my xda Trion. I'm running Custels WM6 2.5 ROM thats blackberry enabled, along with 2.x.x.54 blackberry client for the Trion and the 1.41 radio
Problem I have is that when I invoke flight mode and then switch radio back on, my blackberry app is off line and I cannot get it to reconnect without first disablling it, then doing a soft reset, then relaunching blackberry. It then repairs the settings and goes on to connect and its back up and running All a bit of a pain! I tried the 4.x.x. client, but it has the security feature set on the server such that after 10 mins inactive, it locks the screen and needs a password to unlock the device.
Are you having similar problems with the sleth ROM? If not, could you post the rest of your ROM/RADIO/BB Client config? If you are using the 4.x.x BB client, have you found a way of disabling the device lock?
Many thanks
Chris

Custel ... that's I'd say 2-3 major updates step back. I haven't tested Custel's ROMs, but correct me if I'm wrong it is a LVSW or Black 3.01 derivative. Neither one had any issues with BBC re-connecting. As a matter of fact, from my personal experience, BBC will make *any* connection drop in a blink of an eye and will happily monopolize your data connection, making it almost impossible to have automated POP, RSS or Podcasts collections. I'd say your first step should be backup, hard reset and restore if you are keen to the existing ROM. Then I'd say you want to update to the latest distro and radio. Hope this helps.

Hi Moisha
Many thanks for this, very helpful. I'm not wedded to the ROM by any means, so would happily change to a combo that kept a reliable connection. By 'the latest distro', do you mean one of the WM6 ROMs or release of the BB client? I see you are using the 1.48 radio.. What would be your recco for a BB compatible ROM and radio. Not sure I want to get into hex editing at the moment, so would like to use one one the 'off the (xdadevelopers) shelf' ROMs if poss...?
Thanks much in advance
Regards

Dear member,
I am new to this rom update. I am confused with many rom available for updating WM6 to wm6.1. I am using At&t 8525-wm6. Now i want to update it to wm6.1. Can any one please help with the best rom link to download and update my 8525 os.
I am using HP laptop with vista ultimate-32bit.
Thanks in advance.
Krishna
"the best rom" is all preference really, you should try them out and see which one works best for you etc.
im using CrC's rom, however people are having troubles with V10 so go for v9 in my opinion however other people have other views.
I tried crcs and farias r32 wm6.1,, I think wm6 is better to tytn, cos wm6.1 needs more ram.. and the device cant work well with multitasks..
now I´m using schaps wm6 4.31. and its better than all wm6.1 in my opinion
bye
I definately agree with sebastianmc. Schaps WM6 (4.31) is one of the best roms available. My suggestion is to steer clear of WM6.1 ROMs since they tend to be buggy and if you still have hair in your head, you'd be ripping them off a hand full at a time.
Schaps is supposedly going to release his WM6.1, so hang tight and give it a shot when it is posted here.
Thanks for the question and the answers. I have been running JJ's Black Magic ROM since way back and it is still going strong on my device. But am feeling the urge to jump to a new ROM. I will try Schaps 4.31 and see. I will wait for a 6.1 ROM.
Thank you
Dear Members,
Thanks for the valuable information. I am going to install Schap's wm6 Pro 4.31 on my 8525. Is Schap's wm6.1 final version released?
Well I had Schwaps, (sp) 4.31 on my phone for months without a single issue.
Until I was getting random deaths with my Bluetooth GPS and TomTom, then I was getting hard times to answer the phone, would hit answer and it would still ring 2 or 3 times before I could get it. Probably just from being stale in my phone for months with dozens of apps installed and removed.
I changed to the latest CRC release and was loving it, until this AM the phone was locked up completely. It was so locked I did a hard reset on it. I did stay with the CRC. Its a great rom. I love the speed of it, I really like the way it handles SMS messages, ah hell I like everything about it.
Only draw backs is that it is not a "loaded" app. There is no office, no games, no big clock on your desktop. You have to add all that stuff in later. Ands it appears to be a game of Russian roulette when you hit the button to install.
I would browse around all the roms, even do a quick install of a few and play with them for a day. If you don't like it change to a new one.
I am in the same boat as you , I want, I need, a rom that has all the windows bells and whistles with office. Pocket Rar would be good. Windows Audio player would be good. Ah well I am going to keep searching.
Thank you for ur advice mr . it was helpful .. the question now is did u find something better as u said coz i am looking for something as u do
Shadow CE
I don't know why you guys experience such headache with 6.1 ... I've tried every 6.1 posted and they had mostly all given me issues (mostly speed) .. But the one 6.1 rom that i daily use is Shadow CE . It's fast, reliable and never (seldomly) ever gives me issues .
I reboot once a week, sometimes less . with Shadow CE 6.1 ..
I use ShaDoW's rom too and I love it as far as 6.1 roms go. I haven't had to reboot it at all since I've had it on, ... wait a minute - yea I did, 1 time. Sorry, and I have been running it since it came out a while a go.
The only trouble I have with it is the MMS service. I don't use bluetooth or any of that other stuff though.
Its a very stable rom for 6.1. I've been trying a different 6.0 rom lately and miss ShaDoWs rom. Will be going back to it in the next day or so.
try this one....
i love it ....
