Hey all, I have a Verizon TP2 and the browser tab launches Opera 9.5. I want to upgrade it to 9.7b, however even though I installed 9.7b, the Browser tab at the bottom of the homescreen still launches Opera 9.5. Any ideas?
You might try to find the origional Opera folder in the programs and replace the .exe file with the new Opera file and rename it to exactly what the other one was named. this way when you push the button to "launch browser" it tells it to launch opera.exe ow whatever and it finds the file and launches it. (you may have to rename the other file by adding a 2 to it or something so as not to get them confused. the beta version of opera you have still has some kinks in it so dont totally wope your other one out untiill you are sure you can live with it.

I have the 6.5 rom by nfsfan. Is there a way i can change the registry or settings somewhere so that when i go to the music tab it launches S2P instead of WMP?
The link that is launched is hard coded into manilla. The only way around that is to change the link that is opened. You can use something like vjbrisk to change any actual link - for instance, you can use it to replace the actual wmp.exe (or whatever it is called) in windows so that anything that tries to open that link will instead open S2P. This is problematic, though, if you wanted to continue using WMP for other things in the future. Erasing vjbrisk from the windows folder restores the original link that was replaced automatically, so you don't have to worry about messing stuff up. Use something like total commander or resco explorer to overwrite files in the windows directory.
thanks for the reply!
is there a way where i can edit the registy so instead of opening IE it opens opera 9.7?
Also when i try to unistall something in the windows OS using remove programs... it uninstalls the program but the program name is still there, how do i delete these?
And finally, is it possible at this time and moment to get windows 6.5 onto touch pro 2?

I don't understand ur first question? If u don't want to open IE then don't open IE unless ur talking about a link of some sort.
I have this issue too and i think its because all the files haven't been removed when you uninstall the certain app.
No on the last question.
I'm not sure, but isn't there any option in the menu that says: use as standard browser?

try opening whatever file explorer you use, go to windows/startmenu, and if the program shortcut is still there, delete it. that should get rid of the program name
Hi -
I'm trying to change the default browser from IE to Opera in the TF3d Internet Tab (search bar and "Launch Browser" button). I edited the InternetPortal-en-us.xml file in \Application Data\Manila\ to this:
<BrowserExe>\Windows\Opera9.exe</BrowserExe>
I made sure to make the file read only. However, Internet Explorer is still launching when I put in a search query and also pressing the Launch Browser button. Anyone know how to make this work?

it is actually OperaL.exe instead of Opera9.exe for your curiosity
Skyfire
What if I wanted to make skyfire my default?
I have a problem with my Push Pages. Whenever i try to access a pushpage, my opera browser opens and gives me this error: You tried to access the address file://localhost/obnc/Program%20files/pushinternet/temp/3b9a.tmp,http.www.blabla.com ( bla bla is any page)
i dont know how to fix this..is there a registry entry or a way to fix this in opera.... i tried installing a new version of Opera..but it didnt work....ultimately i would like to open my push pages in IE instead of Opera...I have made some registry changes and while my Internet browser opens with IE, the push pages open with Opera.
I am using a cooked rom so I can't uninstall Opera. I also followed these directions:

You are looking for an .xml file called: InternetPortal-en-us.xml
I copied it to my desktop, then edited it using Notepad. Always keep a copy of the stock page before starting any edits!
Replace the line showing the path to IE with this:
<BrowserExe>\Program Files\Skyfire\Skyfire.exe</BrowserExe>
but i dont have the Manila folder although my rom uses Manila 2.5
I am dying here....anyone that has any suggestions, I would definetly appreciate it
I am trying to use the default browser with Astro file manager to upload files to a website. However when I select the file a / is appended to the file name which I believe is causing the file to not upload. The same happens with an alternative file manager.
Anyone managed to upload non-image files to a website using the default browser?
I guess I will have to stick with using opera to upload files for a bit longer.
Sorry for my answer, it's maybe three way you do it, but you have to long press the file in the astro file dialog.

Thanks for replying. I just tried doing this, but still get the same result. After I submit, the page just refreshes as if I didn't select a file at all. In the file location box I get the correct path, but with a / on the end of the file name. I believe this is the error as it would cause the browser to think that the file I picked is actually a directory.
