Does anyone know where i can get the original battery (back) cover for the TouchPro 2?

looking at those i'm very glad vodafone uk kept the original htc one.
Maybe try direct from htc, for the back cover.

Here you go!

Are you sure those are the Sprint and Verizon ones? From the pics I've seen before the Sprint one didn't have blue and the Verizon one was silver (but with the world map seen on this one). Also, it might just be me but the bottom part of the Sprint style one seems to be the same size as the OEM while the Veron-ey one seems a bit wider. This could indicate the Sprint-y one is for just an extUSB connection and the other for the extUSB and 3.5mm headphone jack, which in turn would indicate the sprint-y one could be a sprint style one designed for the generic phone as the sprint one has both connections. Could just be me though.

Actually, the Verizon back cover is a mix between the one shown for Verizon and the original HTC. Here's a picture of mine, taken moments ago (attached).

here is one more

Yep, these are alternative casings. Like when you buy a ten dollar one for any other phone and get them to change it so you have the "unique" colours that no one else has.

Do you think the T-Mo HTC TP2 Back Cover...

Im about to get the T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 and if you all have seen it the back is awful, At least in my opinion looks like an old phone look,
I was wondering if you all thought the Battery Cover Door for the EU one will be exact fit as the T-Mobile one,
I want the Silver back then the Mocha i think it is back.
I reviewed it in real life then compared it to videos they look exact to me i wouldnt imagine them changing the actual phone.
If anyone knows that'll be great if they're exact fit before i pay $25 for it.
Silver one:
http://www.msgdigital.com/productdetail.asp?productid=47493&refid=froogle
T-Mobile One:
http://images.intomobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/htc-touch-pro2-t-mobile-wing-ii-4.jpg
The mute button looks the same, The usb curve on the bottom though you cant see it is the same,
I dont think the T-Mobile one has 2 mics but thats just a hole, Thanks sorry if been asked.
Gotta go to work thanks for the replies if any knows.
for the life of me, i simply can't figure out why telcos always go and mess around with the handset's default design. in almost every instance they make it worse.
the device looks really cheap an the T3D is an earlier version than the default device
yea I'd like to know this too..for when I buy the device on AT&T. I want it to look as much like the euro version as possible.
anyone know if the euro battery cover would fit on the US-branded units?
Personally I like the backs of the default generic/Euro version and the Verizon versioin (I like the world map they included in the back, what can I say)
And the front I like the most is the Telux one. Unfortunately there's no chance of changing the front I'm guessing
I am not sure where you buy that phone, but the Dutch (The Netherlands) T-Mobile branded HTC TP2 has the original silver cover.
I see the picture you linked, and I agree it is ugly!
(The original TP did not have the nice black diamond back and no LED Flash, but the TP2 seems to be identical besides the T-Mobile logo's and the ROM as the real HTC-TP2)
Just to let yall know ill be ordering the back on Wednesday when i get the Phone, Ill post if it fits or not its only 20 dollars,
I'll personally when i get paid change the front outer border, also they sell the chromish or whatever front faceplate for i think 20 dollars might have to check a few times.
The T-mobile back is just so blah and the square speaker isnt nearly as cool as the round one going all the way down.
Like I said ill post if it fits or not i went to review it at my T-mobile store and i watched video from my G1 and it looks identical on the actual fit of the phone,
Lets hope right? I have seen the Sprint World Map one thats amazing looking but that back wont be out forever.

I like that several US carriers went without chrome (Verizon's rim looks a little like black chrome). I don't really want shiny happy people to relate to me.
But generally speaking, you're right. Carrier's designfu is weaker than HTC's.
Unfortunately the world cover one won't fit on the normal gsm versions. At least I don't think it will as it must make more space for he 3.5mm jack.
The Sprint one looks weird... the brown is just ugly, but the back is an interesting design...
interesting good or interesting bad I haven't decided yet
Yea i forgot i about that, It looks the Exact same on the EU and T-Mobile one but the sprint is differnt from pictures that has been posted,
Reason why im waiting to order the back till wendesday is so i can do a detailed comparasion at home instead of at the malls T-mobile haha
Iv also seen custom Battery Back Covers floating around if any one is interested i think i seen them all on ebay/

EVO original shell pieces

With the release of the Best Buy exclusive White Evo.... I'm feeling kinda bummed since I just bought mine 2 weeks ago...
Does anybody know where to find original/oem/factory shell pieces, particularly the rear bezel and the battery compartment cover. I want to repaint them white or if possible, the white versions of said pieces.
Also information might be useful to DIYers?

Pretty sure its just a white battery cover on the white ones. Which you will be able to purchase.
its more than just the battery cover.
The white 4G as far as I can tell has 2 different pieces from the original black, consisting of the battery cover and the outer rear bezel. The rubberized matte sections essentially.
The battery cover is one piece, lower frame is second piece, just the shell though, transplanting the wiring, subframes, and kickstand should be relatively easy going by the teardown images on ifixit.
I wonder if you can get the battery cover and the rear half of the phone. The back half is what houses the camera lens as well as the kickstand, so having a replacement would be nice.
I wouldn't mind another battery cover if anyone finds how where to get them. I'm sure Sprint repair stores will eventually get them in, but no idea how long that is going to take.
One to mess up, perhaps put a logo on, or the disc from those low profile car mounts, would be nice to have. They're quick and easy to pop on/off too, and it's only a matter of time before that wears out given that I replace my batteries rather than recharge them in my phone.
Edit:
I emailed HTC, lets see if they respond..
I got a response, here it is:
Thank you for contacting HTC! While HTC is proud to offer the original accessories that come standard with our extensive line-up of mobile devices we unfortunately do not have the part you are looking for. We do apologize for any inconvenience however we can direct you to two non-HTC affiliated websites that may have your desired accessory. Try browsing www.boxwave.com or www.daydeal.com. I have visited the suggested websites (daydeal.com and boxwave.com) neither of which sells manufacturer OEM Parts for the EVO. I am not looking for an accessory, nor an after market part. I just want the exact same OEM Part that came with my EVO phone, the battery cover. Part number 71H03150-XXM. If HTC does not sell to consumers, is there anyone that HTC sells to that I may be able to purchase this part from?

That is only if you purchased your phone at BestBuy and did not purchase on launch day (it's now past the 30 days.) It's not due out at Sprint stores until mid to late August. BestBuy has the exclusive until then.
Another update from HTC. So they aren't available right now, but might be in the future it seems:
Thank you for contacting HTC! At this time I am not aware of anybody who carries the OEM back cover for this. We should be supporting this soon, however I do not have an exact date that the accessories will be available. Sincerely, HTC Customer Care

Found them on ebay listed as "OEM Housing"... Might order one or two and try to see how they hold up being sanded and repainted.
I found an OEM battery cover on ebay, but they want $30 for it. A little steep in my opinion.
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Authentic-O...ultDomain_0&hash=item27b3386a12#ht_500wt_1154
I also found the OEM back chassis and battery cover.
http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-EVO-4G-OEM-...ccessories&hash=item255bc105c4#ht_1705wt_1137
Doesn't look like it includes a new lens cover, so the lens cover may be built into the camera. That means no replacing it.
In the second listing they illustrate that it's from Samsung, so they are the actual OEM and HTC purchased the parts/phone from them. I wonder if we'll have better luck purchasing from Samsung or an authorized reseller..

Close but the branding is different. No HTC on the back cover and it says "with Google" instead of "Sprint 4G" near the bottom.
No big deal I just wonder if these are real OEM parts or if they are about to get ripped for copyright infringement...

Yeah, the first one says it's OEM and from Samsung, the second just says that it's "HTC EVO Compatible" so it's not OEM, and probably a knockoff. Especially since he's in China. We should start seeing them cheaper soon then.

Notably, I've found a few wholesale retailers for back housings that have the HTC logo on it but no chrome badging, this is perfectly flat however which means to me, an easier painting process.
Personally I don't care
I just dropped my brand new EVO today, ON THE CONCRETE!!!!!!!!
Well, the only portion that took damage externally, to my knowledge in other words, is the front bevel. I really do not like the blemishes so I went ahead and paid for the $55 set. There was a cheaper $40 option but I didn't see that till after purchasing the $55 set. If everything is legit, considering not just getting the parts I want to replace but also some of the tools needed to do the job, $55 was ok with me.
I'll keep you guys updated. Should be here next week or two. We'll see.
I want a white center with a black battery cover!

GelaSkins

GelaSkins are now available for the One X! I'm going through all the artwork now, it's so hard to choose :silly:

Gelaskins don't have anything to do with those crappy fakes ones that you by from ebay.
I had one in my previous iPhone that that still looks like new after more than 2 years.
Gelaskins are expensive but they worth the money they cost. A really good option for my HTC One X.
Agree, have used few devices with GelaSkins. It is very resilient, worth the money IMO.
I'll give the One X a miss, as I like the look of the phone, and I have photo slide shows as wallpaper so a skin will look out of place.
Don't waste your money. I just got mine, they don't line up with the pogo pins/camera/3.5mm jack/simcard tray.
After working it a bit, I made it fit ok (but not perfect), and the pogo pins are completely covered...

Which version of the One X do you have? Is it the version with LTE (Snapdragon S4) or the Tegra 3 (3G only) version?
I have the tegra 3 version, the skin covers half the sim tray and none of the pogo pins go through the holes that were meant for the pins. There are 5 cutout holes for them but it just shows the back of the phone through. Also, the skin covers almost half of the audio jack.

Ouch! Thanks for the heads up. I am planning on getting the One XL on Telstra in Australia (LTE version) and I knew the pogo pins were in a different location. By what you have said, the Gelaskin might have been made for the LTE version (AT&T One X, Rogers One X, Telstra One XL) and the pin holes would be closer to the bottom of the device (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631225). Would you say that is a fair assessment?

Trophy GSM and Trophy CDMA differences.

I know I'm joining the Trophy party a little late (I'm getting mine after a friend upgrades to a WP8 device), but I've been browsing the internet and have seen so many interesting cases and other items for the Trophy, but I am wary about buying a case that isn't listed for the Verizon variant.
Are the two versions (Spark and Spark_W) identical physically? Will a Spark case work on the Spark_W?
Also, I've heard rumors that the slightly larger HTC TouchPro 2\Imagio\Evo 4G battery will fit the Trophy. Is this true? (Can one of the aftermarket Anker batteries also fit?)
Thanks.
EDIT: Discovered there is a major difference between the GSM and CDMA Trophy. Volume and power buttons are switched on the devices. Have to make sure that the cases are for the CDMA one if you're on Verizon.

Wah wah? As far as the case, both devices are physically the same. Every picture I have seen of the two phones shows the volume/camera/power buttons in identical locations. Just looking at the two side-by-side, I'm sure that there is no difference, so any case you buy should fit either (I recommend a Casemate personally.. I have the original version of the Casemate case and it has been awesome.. except for the little stand thingy).
Now, as far as batteries go, I have never observed a difference in the standard battery sizes between my HTC Eris/Trophy/Touch Pro 2, all the batteries fit perfectly, mind that they are of the standard capacity. I recently ordered the "Fosmon 2200mAh Extended Lithium-ion Battery w/ Cover for HTC 7 Trophy T8686" and am going to see if this fits and works well with the SparkW.
The differences between the Spark and SparkW are all in the hardware. I wanted to obtain a Spark for development, but now see no point (as I got an HTC Pro 7 [on Alltel] and you really REALLY have no choice but to downgrade bootloader's with anything but GoldCard method) as the perfect rom already exist for the device.
Are you planning on running Trophy on Verizon, or another carrier with unlocked sim card? This is where we see people go wrong, as most can't get HSPA+ data working with the VZW Trophy and another carrier.

I went to the Microsoft Store and typed in HTC Trophy into the search, and it came up with 2 kinds of case. One is listed as HTC Tophy (base) by Incipio, and the other is listed as just HTC Trophy by incipio (That's the brand of case that I purchased)
Looking at them, the volume and power buttons are on opposite sides. I had to go to Verizon's Site to find which layout I needed (I needed the one with the large cutout in the back, not the small cutout for just camera and speaker)
Compare http://www.microsoftstore.com/store...-HTC-Trophy-Base/productID.247343200/vip.true
to http://www.microsoftstore.com/store...e-for-HTC-Trophy/productID.247343500/vip.true
and you'll see what I mean. Headphone and power buttons are switched.
As for what carrier I will be using it on, I do plan on using it on Verizon. I have the grandfatered unlimited data plan and plan to cling to it for as long as possible. This means getting a WP7 device now, and a WP8 device when they are reasonable off contract.
My mother is still using her Touch Pro 2, so I plan to check battery sizes when I am home next to see how much bigger the TP2 battery is compared to the Trophy. I know it's only 200MAH, but that's still something. Plus, an Anker 1700mAH battery is designed to fit without a different battery cover in a TP2, so I would assume it would fit without an extended battery cover on a Trophy. And since my mother needs a new battery on her Touch Pro 2, I might as well get the 2 pack.

Ah, I see, so it has to do with the stupid pictures on Microsoft's site that has lead to your confusion. Well, those case pics are wrong: Here is a picture/review of the GSM Trophy, and you can see it is very much the same outside, camera included.
I grabbed my Trophy in the last month before the end of unlimited data, so I understand wanting to keep it (I will be looking to buy a WP8 at full price as well). I'd love to try a 1700mAh battery, but I'm pretty sure the original Verizon battery is only rated at 1250mAh-1300mAh, so 1700mAh is a much bigger upgrade then you realize (the phone doesn't get that great of battery life, even with good reception and mild use). I'll be trying out the 2200mAh over-sized battery with replacement backing to see how it works (it was cheap, can't complain), so I'll be interested to hear what your results are with the 1700mAh battery.

This is what I"m looking at. http://www.amazon.com/1700mAh-Batte...urpose/dp/B0050MUSLY/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
They say that it's a drop in replacement for an Evo 4G\Touch Pro 2\Whatever, and so I would assume that it's like the MugenPower 1800mAh that does the same thing for the Trophy.
I'm planning on buying it when I get the phone, and if it doesn't fit, I have 2 batteries for my mother's Touch Pro 2 to last her until she shears the display off or crushes it with her car again.
EDIT: canceled my order w\ Microsoft before it shipped. Going to look at the cases for a bit longer than 3 minutes and see if I can find out which one is the real one. I'd rather get the one with the small cutouts, but I doubt that is actually for the Trophy. I could buy it and see if it arrives and fits my phone. I'm seriously thinking that it probably is designed for the HTC Radar instead (looks rather similar to my GF's Radar case) and the wrong picture was posted.
(Just checked it against the Radar page on HTC, and the one that is listed as "base" is for the Radar) Going to probably order the other case soon so that I have one before they disappear.

Okay, so I got the 2200 unofficial battery, and it REALLY should only be used on Spark. See, there is one TINY difference in the battery cover, and it is a small clip in the upper right of the phone! On Spark is must be vertically, but on SparkW it is on horizontal! I didn't realize this and forced the cover on and it made a bit of a divot in the phone... since this is my frank-n-Trophy, I'm not considered (but impressed that the new back held up, didn't break.. and even broke the phone's case lol). I'll charge the battery and give it my "at work" torture test tonight.
Now, what I WISH I had seen was this: Official OEM HTC Trophy extended battery. It's rated at 2150mAh (so basically the same)... cost be damned its an official part, and this one is for the Verizon Trophy. Maybe I'll get one of these for my original Trophy.
I am digging the added weight. The phone finally feels as heavy as I wish it had (yeah, I'm a weirdo, I don't like light phones).

Care to post a picture of the two backs side-by-side so I can see what you mean about the cilp?
Let me know how the extended battery performs. I know where to get just the official back for the extended battery pretty cheap (I hope) and may get the pair to try and save some money. Unless the Spark back still works fine.
And what do you mean by "frank-n-trophy"? Storage upgrade mod?

HTC Headphone Scam?!

Hi guys,
Really hope for some response on this thread.
For two years now, I have really enjoyed the original headphones for my HTC One m7. They have great sound quality for a headset that came with the phone for free. So, I decided to order some new ones, because my future phone won't probably have these nice headphones.
Now the package came in, and to my surprise they are slightly different. The soft rubber changed in hard plastic, the L and R marks moved from the printed spot on the phones themselves to the top of the point where the cables come in the speakers, the red button on the remote is not in the middle of the remote thingy, and theres now a HTC logo on the end of the speakers. So, me, directly suspicious, put them to a test. And I immediately noticed the sound quality is now a lot more tinny and less deep than on my current phones.
So I started looking over the internet for type numbers, and noticed there are more sorts of this headphones in circulation.
There's the HTC Max 300, which seem to be the old ones, and the HTC RC E295 which are the new ones, although the ones I ordered had the pictures of the old ones under the E295 name. And the new ones seem to be crap, so I want my money back. The Max 300, or whatever the real name is, was so good I suspected them to be 'unbranded Beats in-ears', but the new ones are the usual crap you get with a new phone.
Question for you guys: where do i get the real original ones I described? Or am i just paranoid and is the tinny sound due to them having to 'burn-in' (although some people claim its an urban legend).

Would be great if somebody can help me out!

I filed a complaint at the store where I ordered saying the earphones aren't the original ones, and their product pictures are faulty. They acknowledge they had two different variants, and had still one pair of earphones of 'the old' batch. So they sent those to me, and they are great - just as I expected from the first order.
Let this be a warning for all guys trying to order the original M7 headphones: the ones with HTC logo's are from a new (and obviously cheaper) batch and don't have the quality you are looking for. Case closed.
