I've been reading alot about overclocking HTC devices. Unfortunately I think I have read way too much and am suffering a "brain fart", information overload. Too much information and too much coffee has caused confustion in my overtaxed mind.
Can the CDMA TP2 be overclocked and if so where can I find the software?
no2chem is working on it. Follow his blog on nueRom.com

Hi,
I've been reading the forums for awhile now & have picked up a few things along the way but still a little confused about how to update my Trinity to WM6 as safely as possible.
Was hoping someone could point me in the direction of an idiots guide to get me on my way as i'm alittle overwhelmed by all the info on here.
As a side note anyone know if the WM6 roms fix the issue with CPU usage when using the touch screen?
Regards,
Mike
check your PM
i have the same question!
pm'd you, nighthawk..
wow, everything's now under the table. I suppose everything you need is on top of the board, sticky, right?
ha not quite... it's hard to explain.. actually, i think compared to some of the other threads on this forum, our trinity forums suffer from lack-of-good-stickies haha
With soo many flavors available - let's star a thread quickly summarizing most popular ROMs by following parameters:
Stability
Performance
Battery life
Features/Fuctionality
It will help many people (including me) to make a right choice.
Also let's talk about Radio releases and their effect on performance and battery life
use the search function and you will find one thread on radio.
and again, use the search function to look up on the ROMs.
don't be lazy =) and put on yr firesuit.

i'm gonna guess that thread-started signed up to XDA so he could download stuff, then he went around and was overwhelmed by everything and immediately assumed that he was the first person to try to organize everything. something like that
ah all that up there is in good fun, just search around before you ask, that's all. there should be a couple threads covering benchmarks of ROMs, check the wiki for facts about some Radios, but most of the places you look, people will tell you that you have to try out ROMs and Radios for yourself as a final verdict. let other people just guide you.

Wow, that's the spirit . Just because your newbe on particular board let's assume you are total idiot. Yes I joined board to download things, rom's in particular. Somehow I did managed to load SPL 2.10, Radio 1.51xxx, and try 3 ROMs(stayed with Schap's 4.01 with Inet Sharing, as well as install TouchFlo Cube and Ipointui bouth in the same time and configure it all to be a much niftier device from usability standpoint . But I'm not here to talk about how wonderful I'm - I'm not. Accomulated welth of knowelege on this board is just amazing and a lot of guys doing some greate work. I have found 1 thread dedicated to ROM benchmarking - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320370&page=12 - greate source of info.
Problem with this thread is, synthetic benchmarks are often misleading, I know thing or 2 about them - my latest work project is benchmarking embeded Java stacks for cable STB's.
Now given what total number of threads on this board is over 7000 and number of msg probably well over 100K I think it would be very usefull for EVERYBODY to get short overview to help people understand were to start. Now with 30+ variation's of major ROMs out there, over 10 popular Radio stacks, it will take person 5-6 month just to try living with popular combinations.
And how many new ROMs will be out during this timeframe.
I'm racticly done with my choice for time being but I'm sure many other people can benifit from it. And ROM page on wiki is rudimentary at best.
well you obviously did your homework didn't ya..
as i said there's a whole thread on radio performance and you found the other for ROMS.
what can i say? good luck i spose...
I did SOME half-asses benchmarking of my own. See the thread in my sig.
ok so im trying to read things already posted, but there are too many posts to read and at this rate im not gonna get anything done and probably brick my (valuable) phone
so ill break it down into some simple questions that cannot possibly have a biased answer and the rest i can work out through trial and error
firstly, radio versions
i have 1.08.25.08.
many people are saying "woo hoo 1.00.25.05 is great" am i right in assuming this is an old build?
secondly the actual version number
is is as simple as the higher the number, the newer the radio? or do some of the numbers mean specific things like the 1.08.25.08 the first 08, does that mean vodafone uk (my carrier) or is it litteraly a version thing?
thirdly, which radio stacks will work (full functionality, not sort of works, or works but no 3g) on vodafone in the UK.
ok? i can try out all the radio versions that meet the third questions requisites and i can filter the versions i will try with the understanding of the first and second questions.
now, onto ROM versions.
im not so bothered about ROM's as the performance of the device seems ok to me, however, so as to remain informed i must ask.
WM 6.5, worth the upgrade? better features? i may simply look for a changelog, but has anyone tried it on the diamond, as the diamond was not built for 6.5 how does it handle the OS.
are there any rom's that come particularly recommended for their reliability, as my ideal phone would be stable, with good battery life (i know this is connected to the radio stack, but the ROM must also play some part) compatible and integrated with facebook and twitter (like on the diamond2)
also other than the ROM and the radio stack, is there anything else that needs updating? if so, please provide some info, if you must link to a wiki, please link to a relevant page, not the wiki as a whole... the idea of my asking is to save me trawling through hundreds of pages to find the 2 or 3 paragraphs i want... i am not google spider lol ( and i dont expect anyone here to be either, so im not fussed with detailed info, just an outline would be great, for any of the above points! im fairly clever, but the questions above are stumping me as im coming v late to this whole ROM issue and while the tutorials are good, im confident i could sucessfully flash my diamond, i fear i know nothing of the merits of the ROM's that the chefs are cooking.) anywho, im off to bed now, as its gone 4am and i have work at 3pm and my son will invariably wake me up around 8 so i must sleep now or forego it completely (dont you dare tempt me lol)
many thanks in advance to anyone who offers their help here.
As you have seen, there are quite few version of WM6.5 out there in the forum. from time to time, I load new releases which I think probably good enough to have a go, be frank, I havent found any WM6.5 cooked ROM suitable for me yet. most time, I find it's a bit sluggish. However, keep in mind, WM6.5 is not exactly mature yet.
For a good reliablity and performance, I woud recommend WM6.1 still. so you have to try each ROM yourself. It would create a debate here if I tell you which ROM i think best. have fun flashing!
Regarding Radio question, I think u rather post a question in the Radio thread. many ppl would be more than happy to help.
Hello everyone,
Just a quick couple of questions, as I do not have any idea on how to do what I am about to ask, nor do I know if it is even possible... On the new HD2 it is Windows mobile and has the HTC sense, would it not be possible to port the HTC sense to another Windows mobile phone? To me it sounds like it shouldnt be that difficult, but like I said I have no idea what kind of obstacles stand in the way.. For me, I have a Toshiba TG01, that is as I am sure a lot of people know DYING for a better UI and because of the phone specs I would think it would make it even easier (maybe?) .. I dont know maybe someone could give me some input (other then to get pointui and then senseui)
Thanks!
Jm
Are you serious. Try searching and reading.
I am serious, I have read quite a bit of information but obviously not the same information that you have considering your a "senior member". Act like one and maybe write some useful information rather then just bashing.
Thanks!

Thank for the links, I looked through them but they are all cooked into ROMs, and not just "sense" on its own.. I guess it isnt really possible..
Hey guys, so my friend was telling me about overclocking and underclocking today and I was very interested. However from searching I have found mixed results. Although, I have found out there is no application for the Rhodium, YET!
Questions to be answered:
What is a good amount to overclock to without it being dangerous to the device?
Overall, is it a good idea?
Most importantly, Why hasnt someone not already came out with this?!
