I've got the HTC P3300 for a few months now. I wanted to upgrade to WM6, which I did. Everything is fine.
Now I want to downgrade to WM5 WWE, but it doesn't work.
My pda is not sim-locked, but it still fails. There are a lot of threads regarding this, so I wont ask this, but ..... What the h*ll is CID lock?
I have read a lot about this, but I don't understand. Where is it good for, why can I upgrade, but not downgrade?
Please, can someone explain this in a simple yet effective manner to me?

If you want to know specific what CID is and why to run USPL, you should ask the master-mind behindt the prog. him selv (Clik on "USPL" further down.
If you have the correkt original ROM made for you unit it should not be a problem to run it without using USPL. But personally i use this genius lille flash (just in case) - Why take any chance
Follow thise instruction and it should go great

Here you can see hov to access bootloader..
I have downgraded my orbit easily after running USPL utility. This utlity is to temporary unlock the phone. Please try to downgrade or upgrade after this tool run to unlock CID
(The bootloader is invoked by pressing down the Power and Voicedialer buttons simultaneously, and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the left side. Continue pressing the two buttons for a few seconds after pressing and releasing the reset button until the bootloader screen appears)

just to point this out because a friend of mine misunderstood this: this wiki article shows both how to do a hard reset and also how to enter bootloader. you dont have to do a hard reset first to enter bootloader. just do what abshie wrote (even though i dont think pressing the power button is necessary).

I just mentioned the way to enter boot loader is because he asked for it.
No need to do anything in the bracket to upgrade or downgrade OS.
Just run USPL and you can easily do it.

you use the bootloader mode for... well, for upgrading and downgrading your ROM, for one thing!!!
you can always downgrade, but remember, first you must run the USPL each time you want to change your rom. then you won't have a problem. you don't even need to downgrade to your original rom, unless you bricked your device. but if you didn't brick it and you just want to change/downgrade your rom, just run USPL first then flash your device with your choice rom!
How do you get into the SPL on the diamond? How do you check what SPL you have after you flash it?

The problem is i don't know how to get into bootloader. It's not like there's a readme or anything. Not even useful info from where I downloaded it.
I got it. Just press the volume down and power button.
Well, I tried to build rom from my backup of the original rom shipped with my device.
Now I've got to check it somehow to see if its good.
I havent hard-spl my device yet, but im going to do it now.
I couldnt find direct answer, but what happens if I try to flash bad image?
Im going to use the hardspl 1.93 olinex unsigned.
If the Image I created isn't working properly, I'll be able to flash my device with another rom for bootloader mode?
If so, how?
(of course, Im assuming bootloader mode will be accessable even though I flashed bad image?)

yes..i have flash my device a few time from the bootloader screen..its appear "usb" and than your pc see the device..start RUU and flash it againt
butevery time you flash..is possible to brick the device..becarefull
put in the storage card the file .nbh and rename it in "DIAMIMG.nbh" than press volume down and backspace+tasto reset..hold the buttons and flash without pc...this is the faster way (less 1minutes)
ps i never brick any phone..and flash a few time a week with new release and mine

sorry for being a bit noob at this, but would greatly appreciate if you could explain if it is changing the spl that will brick the phone, or flashing the rom that may brick the phone?
And if the phone is brick, can I reflash it back to default?

Three may be more possibility for bricking the device during changing of spl. So be careful and choose correct one for your device. You may play with the rom. But be careful of spl.{sorry for my bad english}

And did anyone got the usb diver of the phone?How can we use the bootloader?By pressing the volume down+Power button？

if u find a ruu with the EVO engineering SPL then u just saved the day
toast, how can you tell if an RUU has an engineering SPL?
i can tell the second i look at it. please anyone who has another RUU let me know. it could unlock the nand protection if its a ENG SPL

everytime you want answers you must give as much as possible details
like
does the phone still booting(can you Open the phone)
can you acces Hboot/bootloader (with the phone closed press Power button and Volume Down at the same time) and what Exactly did you did (beside the Obvious Question ...What Was your Friend THINKING ...flashig radio without having Radio S-off)
ofc , if you c an acces HBOOT
the steps will be
1. Downgrade to 1.32..and get Permanent ROOT
2. RADIO S-offf
3 . Eng s-OFF
flash radio again.....THE WRIGHT WAY
