Voicemail message - HTC Excalibur

What happen to the good old days when it was "HI,PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE".
*BEEP*......Now you have to listen to five minutes of recordings before you can leave a message.I`m sure people hang up so they dont have to listen to all that.Is there a way to by-pass all that yackady-yack?
Can you tell i`m bored?

If you are calling a tmobile number and go to their voicemail system press 4. Sprint and alltel press 1. Verizon sucks so you will have to listen forever.
Hope that helps out a little.

Ok..cool..Is there a way to take that recordings off my phone?(tmobile)

If you are referring to the computer automated woman that talks after your message, as far as I know the answer is no. You can call tmobile and ask but I dont think you will get to far.

I hate them so much that i turn them off soon as get a phone, if anyone really needs to speak to me then they can phone me again, if i'm not answering genrally it's because i don't want too
They should be band JK

i havent been here in a while (guess thats a good sign) due to the fact that my dash has been working perfectly.
however today people have been telling me that they couldnt reach my voicemail and instead all they hear is a dial tone, no ringing, no voicemail..straight to dial tone.
i tried calling myself through another phone..and they were right.
i'm still able to call people, connect to the internet..just no incoming call

5% of the T.mo customers have been hit with this nationwide. I was one of them.

[Q] No call waiting with google voicemail?

Is anyone else having issues with call waiting not working when using google voicemail? I like the features of google voice but this is a deal breaker. I noticed that the call waiting feature is not working at all on my sprint # and every time it is going directly to voicemail, I assume this has to be because of google voice is configured to be my default voicemail?
Is there any solution to this problem besides going back to sprint vvm?
So all the people who are using google vm are fine with losing call waiting? And CM recommends google vm and boasts how it is far superior to to sprint voicemail even though we lose a major feature like this?
I find that all very hard to believe, there has got to be a solution someone must know! I've searched everywhere and can't find anything.
I use GVoice and love it, and I have no issues with call waiting.
I did have a ton of problems with GVoice when I first started using it. After a ton of reading and trial-and-error on setting things up different ways over and over I finally realized Sprint's voicemail service was conflicting with GVoice.
I called Sprint and actually had them completely remove their voicemail service from my account. I can add it back anytime I want. I have had zero issues with GVoice since then. YMMV
GV works fine for me. i get my voice mails transcribed, call waiting works, and if you install the app, you get a nice little toggle link for how you want your outbound calls routed.
win.

Yea I'm getting all those features as well, like I said everything works great except call waiting. But I'm gonna try nebenezer's suggestion and hope for the best.
You know what else doesn't work with Google Voice is "Decline" because if you decline a call it goes straight to Sprint Voicemail. The call never gets forwarded. Deal breaker for me.

hmm, I didn't realize that.
One thing that does bug me too is that caller-id-blocked numbers don't make it to GVoice either.
My work line shows as 000-000-0000 on caller id. I have tested this on a wide variety of phones and gvoice settings and never have I been able to leave myself a vm from my work line.

Well that sucks, back to Sprint VVM for me then.
Hopefully this is something that Google can even fix and isn't a limitation due to Sprint's network or hardware in some way.

FWIW, I just tested this a couple times with a friend at work, no problems here. Maybe that was another conflict with Sprint's voicemail service?
He called my phone from his, I declined the call, he left a voicemail..
If you want to make sure that voice mails go to google voice, turn on Call Screening. That way if you don't answer, decline or you miss the call, you google voice picks up the message. You may get a voicemail message in your sprint voicemail box, but it will only have the message "press 1 if you want to accept this call"
So with this method you don't have to forward calls at all.
Let me know if this helps anyone.

Calls from wife go straight to voicemail

It seems like I'm getting calls from everyone except from my wife.
I am on a rooted/CM7.1.0/Droid Incredible and she is on a stock Incredible. We are both on the same Verizon plan.
When she calls, it rings 3 times for her and then to Voice mail. It never rings on my phone. I have checked
I have and use Google voice for voice mail but she is calling my Verizon number.
The "Send calls directly to voicemail" box wasn't checked. I have deleted her contact in my phone and my contact in her phone and it still goes straight to voice mail. I can call her and other people can call me.
Any ideas?

I wish calls from my wife went straight to VM.
Dude, you would get so much money on ebay for that phone.
The only thing i could think of is mabey google voice thinks your wifes number is spam. If you go to google.com/voice and hit the gear icon on the top right, select settings and then the calls tab. Uncheck global spam filtering save the change and then see if that works.

Update:
Formatted everything and "upgraded" to Pons CM7.2 Incredible builds (12192011).
All is working great.
Ha ha, you probably got hacked... Lol
Edit:
To clarify things, guys, he stated that he 'only uses google voice for voicemail'...
This means she is calling his Verizon phone number first... Which, he has something called 'conditional call forwarding' setup... So, even if google voice were set to block her, as spam, it would still have to dial his handset first... And actually ring(or be ignored).
To my knowledge, i haven't seen a way inside of Android to block callers...
Which is why i jokingly say, you got haxxed...
I bet if you flashed a clean install of cm7 again, it would work fine
If you long press the end call button while in a call, you are given the option to put that number on a black list. You could have done that without realizing

Nice, good catch..
That sounds like the most reasonable explanation so far

Thanks for pointing that out. My 1-year-old son might be the culprit.
Formatted everything so not sure, but good to know for the future.

Calls dont go to voicemail they get disconnected - HELP!

I am running Synergy with Device 003. This is my problem. Over half of my calls, if I don't answer the phone, do not go to voice mail, they just get disconnected. If I turn my phone OFF and call the phone I get the same result, sometimes it goes to voice mail sometimes it just disconnects.
I have contacted sprint and they reset my voice mail. Same problem, they claim it's a hardware issue which it can't be hardware or Rom issue if it happens when the phone is off. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Just had this happen to a customer just yesterday. Their HTC Shift would direct the call to voicemail when the call was declined, but when ignored/missed the call would go through intermittently. When it did not make it to voicemail, all we got was a disconnect/fast busy tone.
Updated PRL & Profile
Reset NAI values via ##SCRTN#
Had the account/device refreshed via Sprint customer care
Ordered new hardware
I tried to explain to the care rep that the phone could be turned off and the call should be directed to voicemail. "Phone designates when/where the call goes", I said, if the phone is off, what does the network do? "We recommend a new phone for the customer".
I've done all of that also. So how can it be the hardware, it doesn't make sense if you can turn the phone off and it happens.
The call forwarding settings on sprints side could be corrupt. Call them and ask them to check check ESM for call forwarding default, no answer and default. Sometimes this tool is overlooked by reps.

Thanks for the replies everyone. So 2 hours on the phone with tech support yesterday. They checked all the forwarding in fact took my voicemail out of the system and re added it. Same problem, most calls don't make it to voicemail and it takes several people multiple calls just to get my phone to ring. I will borrow someones sprint phone tomorrow and change it to my number and see if that helps. I still believe it must be a network issue.

Changing hardware to thay other than Android would be beneficial. 1) would definitely prove hardware/network issue B) if the 2ndary phone's voicemail works, and it's a different OS(even basic) you change what server voicemail goes to. If it doesn't there's more to be had on your issue
Either way, switch back and test.

Make sure that you use a sprint phone that has visual voicemail. If you don't it will provision you on the other voicemail server and taint your results.
I honestly believe you need to to call sprint back and have them open a ctms ticket for your issue. This is something that they should have done during your first call.

Answering calls on AT&T w/Google Voice

My GF has an AT&T GS3, and is having fits answering calls thru Google Voice. When a call comes in, the phone says the call is from an unknown number and makes her open keyboard and choose to accept the call, and often calls get missed. My I-9300 does not do this, so I figure it is something AT&T has tweaked on phone.
Has anyone else had ths problem? I have looked through everything, and can't find a way to remove the additional step in answering calls.
Thanks!
