For the life of me I can't understand why noobs are so impatiant and stupid to put it mildly, as Jasjamming put it "they want to have their cake and eat it"
Look at me I've been member since 2005 and I'm still classed as Junior Member (noob) (personally I would class my-self as being advanced user but hey who cares) and if you look at my profile since becoming a member I've only posted 20+.The point I'm trying to make is usually I do my own research, search the forum before posting thereby I can make an informed decision weather to flash, upgrade, mod etc......
And finaly Jasjamming I totally undertand how you feel, listen take your time and chillout with your missus and by the way I may not have your current Black 2 flashed on my phone it does not mean it's not a good ROM it's just that after flashing so many version of WM6 cooked ROM for me LVSW works the best on my device so far until the next one
P.S. Moderators please please put restriction period before any noobs post in this forum coz at the end of the day XDA-Developers has reputation for being on of the best forum out there, lets not spoil it!

your just as a guilty as a noob, as this is a wm6 forum, techinically this should go in the general forum. can we stop with all these i hate noob threads...its almost as annoying as their quesitons.
I've joined since 2005, my account was somehow not working anymore so I've created a new one. I am not an expert but I've started using PDA since Palm Pilot Pro and all versions of WinCE, WM, Handheld PC.
This forum is by far the most helpful and resourceful on the planet regarding PPC.
Sometimes it takes long to find some simple/frustrating answers but after all it is still the best.
I hope everyone can get along with whatever thing they are troubled with! Good Luck!
Please guys stop creating new threads on n00bs and their behavior/rants/old days nostalgia. By doing this we bring unneeded clutter to the forum. There already is several threads dealing with this. Complains and rants will not help us solve the situation.

LOL How observent of you MR SENIOR I would loved say something to that but I wont as I haven't got the time or day to *****!
This is another [email protected] thread on this whole subject... there are numerous ones already... this is 1 of the reasons people are getting hostile........
You guys are the best!!! Without you I would be unaware of what cell phones can actually do. After a couple years of being a silent member I have decided to speak up and thank all of you.
I'm still a noob when it comes to this stuff (although I'm learning C++ right now) but every question I have you guys already have the answer and it's already old news to you guys.
Once again hat's off to you all and I thank you for the past and future help that this site has given me.
Welcome to forums
Read, Search, Respect and Enjoy!
Enjoy the great xda forum...read, flash & have fun!
I fully agree!
Thats what xda is here for
Just wanted to say Thank you to XDA just found this site while searching around and am so excited for the resources and information found here..
Thank you
Welcome
It's a fantastic resource isn't it! So many clever people here working on making our smart phones much better
True. I just semi-bricked my device and got it back up by nvflash.
great job xda, lots of street cred
Thank you so much
This forum is fantastic. I have managed to root my nook, cause my nook not to boot, fixed that, changed mods many times, again caused it not to boot, fixed it again and all while having a bunch of fun. Just so you know I am a 50 year old woman who knows very little except how to follow directions and this place is great.
I completely agree, these developers, moderators, and admins really make this site amazing! Thank you!
This certainly makes a nice change from the 'Screw you for...' and 'Why can't I post in...' threads!
As Scotsman said, there truly is an amazing array of information, resources and people here. It's absolutely mind-blowing
Take the time to have a look around, read a lot, check the marketplace etc. Even answer a few questions in Q&A for newer members if you can. All adds to the experience
Most of all, enjoy yourselves!
EDIT: Threw a few 'thanks' around to spread the love! Don't forget to do the same if you find someone's post, ROM or information useful! (this post doesn't count)
Forum is great but the restriction of 10 posts are driving me crazy!
I absolutely love xda-developers! I'm so happy a nerd friend of mine link me here a while back. Before this forum, I didn't even know cell phones were hackable! lol
XDA is always a good time! Have Fun & Happy Flashing!
Have read XDA for a while. Today finally I stand here and say "Hello" to you guys. Thank you all XDAERS! XDA is really a helpful and useful source. Cheers!

Thanx XDA
I managed to unbrick and unbrand my german vodafone htc trophy
Welcome to the club!
Always nice to say thank you, and I second everything already posted!
I've used XDA for ages (as the awesome source of info it is), but only just registered to post in the forum. Reckon I can annoy and help in equal measure!
Just posting so I can thank Dlev7. Thanks for wasting my time, XDA

You don't need 10 posts to press the Thanks button. Cluttering up dev threads with a "thanks" post is exactly the kind of thing devs don't like.
thank you xda, nice team, nice developers, nice roms, nice all
XDA great job on your forum I found everything I'm interested in LG GT540
okay i have to add to this post..
i must also thank xda. i have learned so much on this website and it has helped me focus on my future and what i want to do for the rest of my life.
this forum is home to so much information. this website is the bible of mobile hacking and development. and the bible is still being written. i hope the information stored here is never lost.
this really makes me think. im that guy that bought a tablet form 1992. and spent 3 months trying to find touchscreen drivers for windows 95. i had to turn to the internet archives to find it... but i found it!
10 years from now im going to find my moto droid. look back on the primitive technology that i once used every day. and remember the adventures i had with it here on this site.
i love you xda.
In first - sorry for my english :-( so I hope you understand me.
My question is - WHY? Why is problem making one working base of ICS all together.. why is need any "permission to use" (shaky?) (i know, in this time this is not yet writed in your thread..i think). It´s same as in Linux community. ? 100devs, 100 releases?
I´m only user, but when I see this, it´s make me sad.
You all makes very good job in your ROMs. I hope that you fix all remains problems (data, wifi, camera, etc..)
Ehm.. this is only my personal question, if you won´t answer, it will be OK.
For all: good luck!
Good luck with replies
@danvo01 If you own a "tin hat" I would put it on now.
So this question is for shaky??
You can't compare building from source code and porting a leaked, already compiled rom from another device
Sent from my ICS!!!
Move your thread to Q&A. And stop asking questions, in DEV section lol, as something like this will force the moderator to do some work.

MOD EDIT: Fixed
@djolebih:
you don´t understand me. this question is to devs. One has "permission...." another afraid that someone tell - it´s his stolen work.. But - all use leaked versions (i think those with Sense) So I think better is COOPERATION. This is what I want. COOPERATION, not answers why not.
@LorD ClockaN: I think, versions with Sense are all leaked. My question is primarily to Shaky, but all. Devs which building ROMS from source code are OK. Specially my congrats to your work, LorD Clockan!!
@ Furrycup: this really doesnt need comment. you absolute don´t understand my question.
Dude it's a question and it certainly has absolutely nothing to do with developing since there is NOTHING useful in your post for developers or developing in general. I'm giving you a friendly advice before mods see the thread and ban you from posting anywhere. Stop trolling.

Cooperation, so to speak, is a tremendously hard concept to implement ANYWHERE, with any project. Now, I'm not saying No one is going to cooperate with one another, but everyone has their OWN ideas that they want to do with a project.
It will take ten times as long if everyone got together and wanted to implement every single one of their ideas into every single build. Not only length of time, the SIZE of each build would more than likely be enormous.
The devs here know that if they need help, they can ask each other. I'm assuming they all know that. But they all want to do their own work, and implement their own ideas, each bringing their own ROM to the public.
Hopefully this helps.
P.S.- Post in the Q&A Forum
EDIT: @djolebih He's not trolling. He didn't know. Chill out on him, I guarantee that when YOU started out, whether it be on XDA or some other forum, that YOU were a noob and had no idea what to do or where to post. Cut him some slack. I'm pretty sure it doesn't say "Forum Moderator" under your name, so leave that to the real moderators.
First and foremost, this is a question. Please create all question threads in the Q&A section. Q&A stands for Questions & Answers (incase you didn't know )
Second, I understand your question. Basically "Why can't we all share without restriction?"
See the thing is, we should. XDA was based on sharing, ideas initially, then things progressed with technology to where we are today. We have "competing" development teams, which is no bad thing.
What these developers & teams want is recognition of their efforts, that is all. They spend days tweaking this, fixing that & testing. They then upload their "work" to share with the community.
What they don't want is for another "dev" or "team" to come along and take the work and rebrand it as their own. Something which can be done in an hour or so.
Some are happy for you to use their "work" just as long as you ask them first. It is common courtesy to ask to use something before you use it. That applies to almost everything in life. "If it ain't yours, ask".
Now you highlight Shaky156 as an example, but you fail to give a balanced picture.
Where in Shaky156's post does it say (I'll even use his trademark RED)
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU ALLOWED TO USE THIS ROM AS A BASE FOR YOUR OWN

?
It doesn't, he did state that. "You could not use it without permission." or words to that effect. Again common courtesy.
I hope I've explained things a little for you, and not taught the majority to "suck eggs" as it were.
Feel free to respond, just do so in a calm and thought out manner, no-one wants to argue.
thanks

..thank for your answer... This is reply to my question. Really thanks. I understand that every one has his own ideas. For this I wrote "working base" in my question. Base only. More devs, more power, faster fixes. And all over it can be his own work.
PS: your PS to djolebih I don´t undestand so I will translate it, but I think you are right
@andyharney: uff this is too much english to me :-( I will translate.. but:
in my question I wrote "working base" you know? BASE only. I accept their hard work. Really. But for base- as i said: more devs, more power, faster fixes..
I know you said base. But if that base was from a RUU from another device, a device that had different specs and needed to be resized. To even get it to a "base" state for our or any other device still takes a lot of work.
If your simply cooking from a stock HTC RUU then no real development is needed. Just theming & tweaking.
OK Andy..i see that this question is my wrong.. I understand all problems. But both groups have same problems with data, WiFi,camera..etc. I only want cooperation between. As when zbwu makes fix to camera for all.
In linux community is it same. If bsd unix can be base to top OS as osx is, linux can be perfect too.but as i said...100 devs, 100 releases..
thanking u to all devs to giving awesome roms like evo-x4,lenox evolution, hyperion 8,cm7 roms and special thanks to ryan fabriyadi sir to giving touchwiz rom....((i have sold my sgy with mini rom...)i have learned lot of things from xda..and also thanks to all who answered my noob questions one thing sure my next device not BROADCOM, FINALLY THANK YOU !!XDA COMMUNITY!! GOOD BYE...
Thread closed, we have quite enough spam as it is thanks, we don't need to know every time a user leaves.
