Audio Editor - Touch HD Themes and Apps

I work with a bunch or radio reporters and an looking for an audio recorder and editor to put on a windows mobile phone. I use the touch HD and can test it on that. I have searched the forums for this but could not find anything. I have found a lot of apps for the iPhone to do this but dont want to go down that road.
Jeff

there is a voice recorder on the touch hd (quality leaves a lot to be desired though).
as for editor, i believe there was an editor made for the new omnia but i dont know if that has been sucessfully ported yet

We have tried it and with an external mic it works ok. But what we want to do is be able to record interviews and sound bites, Edit them into a story and be able to send them off either via MMS or email to our network center. I have found an app for the iPhone that does this called poddio but like I said before I dont want to have to go out abd buy a bunch of iPhones to do this. We are wanting to use phones to do this because in Afghanistan and Pakistan reporters have to keep on the down low at avaoid being harassed or worse.
Thanks for the help and I am hoping to find a way to keep these guys safe and still get the news out.

Contact Groups & Different Ringtones

Hi All!
I just got my BA (SX 66 - I would include all that other info if I knew where to find it!) - actually hubby and I got ours together and it is definitely an upgrade from my regular Samsung cell and paper calendar!!! We are loving this machine but am still baffled as to why this thing costs over $500 and we can't get different ringtones for different contacts like we could in the $50 Samsung phone? Are my expectations too high?? I know it does just about everything else short of cooking or paying for dinner but this was a really important function for me. Not to mention one ringtone will drive me insane after a few days and I am too lazy to keep uploading different ringtones.
Has anyone found a way around this? A third party application/program that can help me?
I just like having the capability to recognize by sound whether my mother, boss, or one of the sites I am monitoring is calling - not to mention the "Death March" music I used to play to warn me against people who I shouldn't even bother to look at the caller ID because I am not going to pick it up no matter what!!
...ooppss sorry for rambling....newbie!
mortring
you check out this topic...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20711
the application is called mortring... u can have personalized ringtones and sms tones for your user and groups... and the best thing about this application is it's free...
Doesn't your BA have Photo Contacts (Start>Programs>Photo Contacts)? It should allow you to set individual ringtones and photos.

New Live Search - very nice!

Have you seen the new Windows Mobile Live Search. Just got the update and its nice. It adds Internet (shortcut), and Weather of your current location.
Then it has something cool in there. Its called Collections, you get anything from Flickr, to recent Home Sales, Wikipedia, Upcomming Events, etc.
Very nice little add on.
I mainly use it for, well just about everything when I'm out on the street. Now if they could make the UI a little more pleasing, that would be nice.
Pretty nice. I have not figured out the "collections" area yet... not really a feed reader but it asks for RSS?? I had to update twice for some reason before I got the newest version 3.0.3047.24749 5/5/08 and I really like how it works with VR (voice recognition) since I almost live with my bluetooth on any more LOL
i don't like live search to much i use google mostly..but i'll give it a try where do u get the dl. from???

Just talk to the new Live Search via your speech, also you can get instant weather for you area and lots of other stuff, this new Live Search is really slick. Now Microsoft is in their "A" game, like the LA Lakers. You can get the new live Search by pointing your mobile web browser to http://wls.live.com.........!:D
I also prefer Google search over the Live search (web search, not the app) but I quit using the Google app since this started getting updated. I've got it running on both of my Dashes, my Kaiser, and my HP iPAQ 510 and while it renders differently on all of them, it works the same. And if you have a device with GPS, it's a TON more useful.
As I say at work, "better living through Microsoft."

I found a bug today, maybe it's just my phone as it is overclocked. When I use Maps/Directions with a Bluetooth GPS and someone tries to make a call my phone freezes and the call goes to VoiceMail. It didn't do it on the previous version. I'm going to send a messege to MS to let them know, BUT, could someone else try this out?
I wish there was an option where it always ran in the background as well as on the sliding bar as I use it 95% of the time.
MS has felt the pressure and they are now (I think) catching up.

It does not freeze on mine. Either answering a call with bluetooth headset or without. I am overclocked at 260
Since it's in nobody's signature and it's not been explicitly mentioned, I ask: is this version intended/designed for wm 6.1, hence in form of a CHome plugin/panel or only a fullscreen app?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Pandora on Windows Mobile

Anyone with an iPhone want to hack the Pandora application and see if we can get a version working on Windows Mobile?
You cant just take something from the iphone and port it to window mobile. I have been waiting forever for Pandora on my WM phone, but now I have it on my iPod......so I wouldn't hold out any hope that they will come out with something.
Yeah, I know - what I was hoping is that someone with the application could help us figure out the streaming protocol it uses, and then we could write a WM app to do the same thing. Maybe this is too difficult.
Sounds like a great idea. If it works over wifi the network traffic can be observed etc.

Dear lord!
Is Pandora still prohibited outside USA???
This is a real shame

Huh? What does that have to do with the original question?
I wish. I love pandora but I can't have it on my phone. One real thing I am jealous about.
i've heard it works with the skyfire browser...but I'm getting the feeling I will never get into that beta. Isn't there a AT&T pandora program? I believe it's a pay to use feature however.
Maybe we should get in contact with the guy who made the standalone windows pandora app, seems it would be much easier to "port" that than an iphone app...which was a terrible suggestion by the way
Skyfire does not work- I have it.
I did email pandora just a couple of weeks ago and they have no plans to support the PPC
Have searched for the ATT install cab but no luck.
I FOUND THIS
i think it already works on some sprint phones as ic on this blod

There's a Last.FM for Windows Mobile that someone made, it's similar to Pandora. A quick search should turn it up/
Im going to open up pandora and shift though the code, and possibly write an WM6.1 application to intercept and login to their database just like the website.
-This is just an attempt, i will let everyone know the progress as it matures.

awesome! hopefully you will have success! can't wait!
Well it seems after 3 hours of reading code and downloading every external javascript file, and decompiling the flash files, it turns out that Pandora has an API that isnt being released in wide array. And to my dismay, after 3hours, and not knowing enough of the AS language, i chose to wait until the Pandora APIv2 is publicly release (it has been release to a very few 3rd party companies - yahoo is one for example) to revisit pandora for wm.
-sorry, but like i said it was an attempt.

Thanks for trying
At the risk of sounding dumb, here are my half assembled thoughts lacking necessary sleep...
I know Alltel runs BREW, though I'm not sure about Sprint and ATT (not likely). ATT has more than just the iPhone running Pandora, and I'd assume that these phones are all running the program in Java. Otherwise the devs must like doing more work than necessary, or Pandora is trying to find a way to lock this down and make some money.
Is it possible to pull the program off a phone and run it on a WinMo JavaVM?

tried this, but no luck. if pandora outright doesn't plan to support windows mobile, they can go screw

My thoughts exactly. Does someone have a RAZR, or another supported AT&T phone, who can visit the URL Pandora sends you?
(which is http:///www.pandora.com/att?)
It seems like Pandora might be a java app. If that's he case, it could easily be pulled from the phone's filesystem, once the "right" phone visited the website and downloaded the app. I'd try it myself with my old RAZR, but my wife nagged me when I upgraded and I threw it away.
EDIT: Yeah, I tried it also. It seems like the stock WinMo 6.1. JVM doesn't support some DRM-related features, so the midlet won't run.
I have the Razr V9M (My old phone). I can see if I can get the file(s). Someone needs to walk me thru which files you need and how to get them. If you want to compare files. If anyone is still trying to get this to work...
Pandora on my phone would rock.
Pandora Application on WM6
Did anybody else attempt to put Pandora in a .cab file besides Zeezee? Looking forward to find out if someone can do it for the WM6 and upload it somewhere.

[C#]My phone call recorder - some hints needed

Hi.
For my studies I'm expected to develope application which would be able to record phone calls (voice both from mic and speaker). App is for HTC Touch Pro and maybe for Samsung Omnia (but mainly for HTC) and it should be written in C#.
I wrote in my life few CF apps so I know mobile programming topic and I'm not asking for writing application for me. I would like to ask developers who know this topic about few things:
Is it possible to capture voice from mic and speakers while using only CF .NET 3.5 without any specific APIs? Or some additional (phone specific?) APIs are needed? If it is not a problem, can I get few lines of code with description how to do it?
I read few threads here and on other sites but nowhere I can find any information about developing these kind of apps - only posts about which commercial app works on which phone and which is not. So I hope that someone in this development section can help me with this.
I will appreciate any help
Cheers.
No-one? Really?
There are unmanaged APIs which can be used in managed apps by using P/Invoke. Take a look at the 'Wave In' part.
Not sure if this can be easily used for phone call recording.

Hi.
Thank you for reply. Sample from your link records and plays sounds pretty well, but during phonecall it is completely lost and cannot even save wave properly (and I assume that it is taking control of microphone, because on second phone my voice doesn't exists :/).
I have tried few tricks using openNETCF too, but it also has problems with recording during the phonecall.
Does anyone have any more idea? There are a lot of phonecall recorders which work so somebody must have done this before...

[Q] call recorder application galaxy nexus (no root)

Hello,
I work as a secretary and in one day I have more than 50 calls it is so hard to remember al info. That is why my favourite applications is Call recorder, (and in our country it is legal -if they are informed)
this is my first android telephone. My previous was nokia n95 8gb .symbian s60 - and there it worked really good - totall recall!
I tried more than 5 applications from android market, but looks like nothing work on galaxy nexus. (just my voice is recorded, other party (other friend) is not recorded)
I am so sad, because this is first time I have android phone and this is only application that I really need and it is not working
Is there any possible way to have this application to record all calls (from me and another side) , if I do not want to root my ROM?
or I really have to root this phone? will there developers make an app that will work (i can wait a little)
thanks a lot thanks a lot in advanced.
This is my first post and I really need some advaces (more than 3 days I aksing all around but no one can answer me...)
I think you will be disappointed as I too have been looking for an app like this. I couldn't care less about it being legal etc. however this is likely the only reply you will get thats on topic as people love to quote the law whilst using their pirated copies of windows lol
Anyway I found AndroRec Call Recorder but it only records the other party if you use the speaker phone or max call volume (in which case they are fairly quiet)
If you find a working one be sure to report back!
i am still looking for the solution too!
anyone help?
