Nevermind I got the files

I recently downloaded the new V14 ROM only to find that the only file which was opened was an NBH file. I am not sure if that is the file I should flash with. I am usually used to the pretty much automatic RUU which doesn't appear to be the case. Can someone help me please??

The v14 download should be a compressed file containing the RUU and other files... As usual.
You also need to download the CDMA white dialer skin or the GSM dialer and also the carrier provisioning cab (choose your carrier).
See p.238 of the NFSFAN's ROMs tread for all of these
It should be a compressed file with the RUU and other files but the only files I get is an NBH file.

im using a tytn and getting errore message
dows the official upgrade is for tytn or doopod ?
anyone can help ??
i try using hard sspl and still .. same
I think it may be because it is a rom for Asian networks... I got a similar error, and will have to manually import the settings for my network providor... other than that, everything else went fine...
I believe there are cabs kicking about this forum to auto setup for various providors.. I think it is trying to auto detect your vendor, and if not Asian, is returning the error
I think thats all the error is showing...
If you've downloaded one of the other cooked ROMs on this site, you should have an exe file called RUU_wrapper.exe.
Now, install WINRAR and right click on the dopod rom and choose extract and it will extract various files, one of which will be another exe file. Extract this exe file again and you should end up with a file RUU_Signed.nbh - this is th only file you'll need out of the lot.
You can delete all the other files from the dopod ROM now, just keeping the RUU_signed.nbh. Copy the RUU_wrapper.exe file into the same folder and run it and you will flash the dopod rom to your phone nicely - just make sure you're HARDSPL first!
Now, you could be even smarter at this point and use dutty's good nbhtool if you like to "unwrap" RUU_signed file and remove the IPL \ SPL (though with HARDSPL, I'm not sure this is necessary) and the Radio part if you like (and the boot splash screens if you're so inclined and then use it to wrap it all back up again.
HTH,
Smiffy.
I've succesfully SID unlocked my Diamond and I flashed the following ROM:
QMR_RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_1.93.405.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship
I now want to extract the SPL and flash it from that ROM. I use this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568
It's pretty simple, but the NBH file I created using HTCRT is 528K and it gives me a message that the NBH is greater than default. In the tutorial it says:
9. You should now have a NBH file that is relatively small (about 258K)
I've tried several ROMs, but with the same outcome.
I haven't flashed it yet, but I don't know what I am doing wrong?
Why are you following Kaiser instructions?

ROM is locked from being dumped. The kaiser tut should work isn't it?
My Diamond turned completely black due to microp error, I need the original ROM in the form of .nbh not .exe so I can flash it from the internal storage.
If you start the exe it will extract files to the same folder. One of them is the NBH file.

With the shipped ROMs, you can right click and extract them (you need winrar or 7zip or something like that installed). Then, you get an NBH and a few other files.
still have black screen
I cannot go the bootloader screen I did my best, please help
Hi,
Can any Telstra Desire users work out how to extract the bootanimation.zip? I want to port it to my Dell Streak because I'm using it on Telstra.
Thanks,
Kris

Krisbo, if you've got the Telstra ROM downloaded look for the bootanimation.zip file contained in it. You can open up the ROM with WinRAR search for it and simply extract the bootanimation.zip to a folder then check out the 'change your bootanimation' thread which gives instructions on how to use adb to send it to your device.
The only ROM I have is the RUU_Bravo_Froyo_Telstra_WWE_2.26.841.2_Radio_32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14_release_150162_signed.exe which I downloaded from HTC and that file is unable to be opened with WinRar
this thread http://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/213279-ruu-zip-possible.html tells you how to extract the zip from the ruu. once you have the zip, you should be able to find the bootanimation.zip within it.
The ROM.zip within an RUU is .IMG files that can't be opened - you need to use an online kitchen to unpack the IMG files to get the bootanimation.zip
Not that easy really

agreed - but might be the only option for the OP if he/we can't track down a Telstra ROM as a zip.
Hi Guys
I have a HD7 from o2uk
I have flash the device with the new RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.69.401.01_Radio_5.54.09. 21_22.33b.50.10_Signed using a gold card.
But im getting bad signal, is there a way to strip the radio from RUU_Schubert_O2_UK_1.68.206.03_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a _22.36.50.15_Signed
and reflash back to the device?
Cheers

what you could try is:
take the rom from with you want to use the radio.
rename the .exe to .rar and extract it.
remove the biggest .nbh file.
run the updateutility.exe and hope it will flash (if it works then it only flash the radio)
remember that it will always hardreset the phone (it isn't a custom ruu)
oh and remember ! it is always at your own risk

But wouldnt that over write the rom on the device?
Ive extracted the rom using HTC ROM image editor.
I now have
GSM.nb
OS.nb
SPL.nb
I take it the Gsm.nb is the radio? but how do i create that into a image to flash?

oh no not that .
one more time
1) take a rom (the one with the radio you want)
example:
RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.69.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10_Signed_SCHUBERT_TEST.exe
2) rename .exe to .rar and extract.
3) now you have a folder with some files
4) delete "RUU_signed.nbh" from the folder.
5) run ROMUpdateUtility.exe
