keyboard shortcut for context menu - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

My Universal had a keyboard shortcut (fn+space) for the windows context menu (the equivalent of clicking on something and holding). Is there a way to get the context menu via the shortcut on TP2? I used to use it particularly for inserting the date while writing a note.

so have you found how to make this work? I'm looking for it too.

Command Line Interface

I've had a look at a few programs and they all require command line changes to set up specific option. I have no idea how to get this to work with WM5.0 and no ammount of Googling and forum searches has helped. I know what to do in a desktop environment but there is no option for mobile based applications. Can anyone tell me how to add command line options to a program or shortcut on WM5.0?
total commander
Thanks
EDIT: NVM me a fool...
if you just want to launch an app with command line hold down the action key (the one in the middle of the d-pad) then long-tap the clock / battery icon area on the top bar. Release the action button and a popup menu will appear giving you the "RUN" option just like on a desktop PC.

Oh, wow! That is a very handy bit of information!
Sorry to bring up such an old thread, but I haven't been able to get this d-pad trick to work (in WM6.1). The app just opens as soon as I press down the center button. I've also been trying to do it through Total Commander but I haven't been able to figure out where to specify the options. I've been at this for two days. Can someone please point me in the right direction so I stop feeling like an idiot? Thanks.

screen orientation for applications

Hi, Guys
Great job on all the different ROMS.
Is it possible to set the screen orientation for specific applications. ie stay in standard portrait mode, but say I open email or tom tom. I would like the screen to change to landscape automatically and when I exit the program the screen to revert back to portrait mode. If not does any one know of an app that can do this.
cheers
That has to be written into the application.
It used to be an option in Tomtom 5, but it was a feature that was removed for Tomtom 6.
Opera browser will landscape independantly of the OS.
Sadly developers have have starting thinking that as screen rotation is available from Windows, they don't need to add it to their applications.
I'm not aware of any extra application that would monitor other opening applications and switch the display accordingly.
thanks for the quick reply. Guess I will have to manually change before opening.
just find this:
wisbar advance 3
Features
Compatible with WM2003, WM2003SE, WM5 and WM6 touchscreen devices
Uses a smaller memory footprint than WisBar Advance 2
Customize the close button, the screen orientation and the SIP on a per-application basis
Switch between any application currently running on your device
Provides a cascading start menu (as in the screenshot)
Tap and hold the OK button to cancel a dialog
Add or remove functions to the taskbar
Each button on the taskbar can be assigned a tap and a tap-and-hold action
Place shortcuts in the system tray for easier access from the Today screen
Customize a "User Menu" with applications of your choosing
Change the appearance of the taskbar, menubar, buttons and start menu in any program
Supports QVGA and VGA devices
Customize the clock's appearance on the taskbar
Hear sounds for system events, just like on your desktop
Download and install themes created by other people
I assigned the internet explorer button (bottom right) to "rotate screen".
thanks for the post,
Pete - seems to be the best solution without having to install extra apps. cheers

Windows Mobile Lock Keypad Function

I'm looking for the code, dll, or application location that locks the keypad on wm phones. I'm looking to map one of my keys to lock the keypad whenever pressed. I thought the lock functionality on wm phones was an application but tons of searching turned nothing up.
Specifically, I have a t-mobile dash (htc s620) and want to map my t-zones key to lock my phone by editing the \Windows\short_IE.lnk file which controls the key's mapping
lock app

Hey, you can use the star key and it will lock your phone. Also holding the end call key will lock your phone. Additionally if you want to download the new 3volution ROM by Ookba on the Dash/Excalibur forum it comes with a built in keylock that locks the keypad after 10 seconds of inactivity. If you come post over in the Dash forum I'll hunt you down an app to solve whatever problem you have.
I figured out how to do this:
1) Find the DeviceLock.exe in windows/
2) Tap and hold on the EXE file, and select Copy from the context menu that popped up.
3) Navigate to Windows\Start Menu and you will see your current start menu programs in that folder. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list and tap and hold in white space (a blank part of the screen below all other programs), then choose Paste Shortcut. This will place a shortcut in your start menu. You can then rename the shortcut to whatever you choose.
Then you can go an modify the button mappings in settings and select the new shortcut you created in the start menu and you're done.

In WM6.0 Pro I didn't had the DeviceLock.exe on windows folder. so I had to use the cab above.
Still I don't get it why in a Samsung Omnia with WM6.1 you can lock the keyboard by pressing for 2 seconds the end call button and on HTC P3600 with WM6.0 the end call button doesn't do that.

Start Menu Keyboard Shortcut

Everyone,
Does anyone know how to set up a keyboard shortcut to the Start Menu? I want to be able to press a button on the keyboard to open the start menu. I can assign a button via the Send button (using button programming in Settings, a stock Windows Mobile feature), but I can't see how to get the the keyboard.
Any ideas? Thanks!
there is a key remapper program in the apps, themes, & software subforum that someone made that can do this.

assign soft key action...

ok, i'm not getting a response in q&a, so, sorry if this is in the wrong section...
anyone know if it's possible to assign a shortcut to the softkey action
(ie. the softkeys are different in word to those on the today screen, can i assign a shortcut to that action)
i use a bluetooth keyboard which can be configured to any shortcut. it would be real handy to be able to just hit a couple of keys rather than reach for the devices tiny screen everytime i want to activate the menu.
cheers
or even just to have the pop up menu in word would be real handy
cheers
anyone!???
