Hi there!
I have tried to replace audiopara3.csv file from twaeks on TP2 thread and it did not do any good on my T-Mobile Touch Pro 2. Any ideas, please? Pretty please?
Earpiece volume is terribly low when making calls.
i tried the same and nothing happened either. in fact, my keyboard backlight switches on and off whenever it wants to now. idk if that was from the AudioPara issue or something else, but it bothers me a little. :/. Can anyone clear the instructions up?
for me the ear piece spaeker was unbearably low, then i foudn out the plastic cover piece that came with the phone was covering it, but eventually even with it off,
i used that audio cab thingie, and amazingly it worked for me
the volumes at highest are acutally very high, i actually had to turn it down 1 notice on volume, which is pretty good at least i can toggle it when at a busy area
dont know what to say for you guys but it worked for my tmobile tp2

I have the Siemens Sx66. When I try to use the phone the microphone and speaker do not work.
I can make or answer phone calls, but can not hear the caller nor can they hear me.
The volume controls are set all the way up.
I am using
ROM 1.40.00.WWE Date 3.10.05
Radio 1.15.00
Protocol V 1337.45
EXT ROM V 1.33.110 WWE
Carrier: Cingular Wireless.
I have done a soft and hard reset as well as loaded the latest cooked ROM and EXT Rom from the SX66 (Blue Angel) Standardization Project (Chris Daly)
Any advice out there... or should I just contact Cingular and get the phone replaced?
Steve
I've tried this and it worked for me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...rt=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=dspen
use the one that's called dsp_en
the other one is in French
Installation Instructions for dsp_en.cab
do you have installation instructions for :
dsp_en.cab
MMS_2.0.0.16_BA_1123.CAB
I don't feel comfortable just doing this on the fly.

use this link

copy the exe to your SD card if you have one
then just double click it - that's how I did it
ok, I like this lill program, however it does not help me. I had turned my speaker on, while on a call, and it got really loud, crackled a bit and then nothing.... When trying to use the phone, I can not hear anything, unless I put it on speaker, then I can somewhat hear the caller...
Any advice on how I can get this fixed??
take your phone apart and reseat all the connections..
nope, that wasnt it... I bought a spaker and just replaced that.. good as new!
did you puncture the old speaker or get it wet by chance?
nope, I was talking to T-mobile and put it on speaker phone,, it got real loud, crackled a bit and then nothing.. I took it off speaker, and couldnt hear anything... To use the phone, I needed to use the speaker,, and then I could barley hear anyone.
I used my back up till I bought the part to fix it.
Any really good place to buy a replacement speaker for the SX66? The speaker cover held in by 3 little plastic tabs has had one of its tabs pushed in, damaging my speaker to wher it crackles and pops at all times (not just when using speakerphone)

Crap, I just noticed that you have the I and not the II.... dont know if they can help ya or not... give them a phone call...
hey Smacar01, i have exact the same problem!
normal sound (mp3, movies) works perfect, but when using the phone, everything is dead.
did you find any solutions yet?
i've got same problem. anyone help
i have tmobile tp2
and i dislike its earpiece sound quality
my previous universal was much better
this is on stock radio 3.45, and on newest 4.49.25.17
my tilt2 sounded muffled when I got it. I tried different hacks but none of them worked. I ended up getting it exchanged. my new tilt2 is on the way.
I graduated from the Fuze to the Tilt 2. At first, I didnt think it would be that much of a different experience but, after I played with the Tilt 2, I must say that its definitely worth the upgrade. The bigger screen makes a huge difference, tho its the same processor speed as the Fuze, the Tilt 2 OS feels much more snappier. The build feels much better in the hands than the Fuze. PIE 6.5 is kinda slow and not as eye candy but feels much solid than opera and PIE 6.1. The speakerphone, hands down is the best I've experienced in years on a PDA/mobile phone. I thought it could've used a little more treble, but in comparison with the Fuze, the Tilt 2 speakerphone makes the Fuze's sound completely inferior. With today's technology, there's no reason why HTC shouldn't have included decent speakerphones in their handsets! The camera, I expect it to be good in a well lit area. I mostly tested the camera in low lit areas to see how well it performed, and from my test, just a slight improvement over the Fuze. The Gps works excellent. It was able to locate satellites within 20 secs in an open area. Overall, a well made phone, Finally!!

Im in the same boat, my new one arrives tomorrow, crossing fingers the sound is better...I had the muffled sound quality too especially with lower voices...speaking females (at least most of them) there was not an issue, but when I spoke to men on the phone it sounded low and muffled.
very sad to realize but it seems a hardware issue
..................
after some search ive found such thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550784
i will try different audiopara and post the result
some people in that thread told it helped
the only thing i cant understand, why the muffleness stays after reflashing? i tried different roms from nrgz28 and official russian. the radio also have been reflashed to the newest
I have complained about mine to the wife quiet a few times when talking with her, tilt 2 to tilt 2. I find myself moving the phone around to hear better, but it just doesnt get better. Im gonna try her phone and see if there is a difference.
I don´t have any issues with my sound quality
it´s just as good as my beloved Uni
For my original Tilt, at full volume, I can hear the caller standing 2-3 feet away from the phone. For my Tilt 2 I couldnt. Even when the phone is pressed against my ear, the sound is muffled with no mid to high frequency. It sounds like a midrange speaker with low pass xover set at 750hz. I wish I still have my SA3055
tried several audiopara files and no success
thinking its hardware
my thoughts are that earpiece hole is not enough opened, seems like a piece of plastic is resonating when low voice is coming out
its just my thoughts, perhaps its simply faulty earpiece speaker
now i thinking of disassembling it or not. i wouldnt do that, but i bought it on ebay so no warranty
Same problem here.
Went to at&t store and exchanged it,... twice. Same story. Tried flashing different ROMs and Radios - problem persists. Will try to exchange it one more time. If issue is still there, will return the phone - I have till Nov 17th.
BTW the sound is muffled not only with earpiece - speaker and headset have similar sound issue.
Other than that phone(PocketPC) is great. But sound quality is crucial, for me at least.

Agree with this..i did flash a customer rom and the reg and windows folder didn't have the audiopara files...so not sure what it used, it seemed like the sound was a bit better than stock.
But to your point, I wonder if its possible to enable a equalizer software for the earpiece and to see if we can add some mid-range or whether the hardware just couldn't support that...but agree the muffled sound is due to lack of midrange/treble.
finally i think its hw
and im wondering why this or similar thread are not sticky, cause there are a lot of complaints
added a poll

is everyone satisfied tp2's earpiece sound quality?

I'm 100% satisfied with mine - the amazing in-call clarity is one of the phone's best features. Then again, I don't have the T-Mobile version; it seems like everyone who does has problems with the earpiece.
strange situation, all complaints from tmo or att branded tp2s
does anybody have such problems with unlocked/unbranded ?
seems problem resolved for me after flashing radio from tmobile 4.49.25.05
hej there,
i recently discovered that my front speaker (the one you use when calling in the "normal" way) seems to be broken. there is some distortion noise on higher frequencies (like the dial tone or higher voices) and higher volumes. when volume is reduced or people have lower voices this distortion is gone. it sounds like a speaker that is overdrivern (if that is the correct phrase) - i'm missing the words to describe it more in detail. anyway, the phone was working normal for 3 months and now this issue comes up.
anyone else out there with the same problem - could find information or similar cases up to now...
cheers!
That's the same problem i have. I think there is only one alternative. Back to HTC for a fix. Have tried the different ROM's but no luck. If there is a fix, hope to here from someone soon but i think it's back to HTC for me
i was hoping not having to do so... well... always look on the bright side of life...
Hi there, I just bought a htc one m8 from t-mobile, and everything is preatty nice, speakers are great with music with some frecuencies it tends to make a buzzing sound.
Basically when im listening to music it is okay most of the times, but when listening to tutorials or commenatires it makes a buzzing (like something loose inside the speaker) sound, but only in the upper speaker.
I tried this test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nklzAUrXSuM and the speaker really shows how bad the buzzing is starting at 500, its really remarkable at 630 and 800.
So i need your help. To anyone who has an m8 (normal, no the harmon kardon), please make the test and tell me if you hear the same buzzing or i have a defective phone, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
btw, sorry for my bad english, and greatings from Mexico
Anyone? Please
My speaker started to buzz, then completely blew. Replaced it, worked great, and a month later the same thing happened.
I'm going to replace it again tonight, change roms, then I'll try this test

So?
Happened with me after my display needed to be replaced.
When playing music with deep bad, the speaker made something inside the phone vibrate pretty bad
Now the service people solved it by making it way quieter than the bottom speaker and it sucks
Try this - use small ~10mm/5mm/30mm neodymium magnet, to clean speakers. I do so once per month, because of my job and metal powder that stuck in my phone. HTC put strong magnets to the speakers, so they attract more metal dust than other phones.
Just got my brand new m8 and after using it a bit I noticed the top boomsound speaker wasnt working. Tried some basic troubleshooting and using it in different apps in no avail. I can hear someone in a phone call no problem though, but if I use the speakerphone or use the phone to play music or something like that it doesn't seem to be working (or maybe be extremely quiet??).
I haven't tweaked the phone yet in any way, completely stock Android 6.0 that it shipped with.
Edit: The top speaker works but it is much, much more quiet than the bottom.
I'm really hoping this is a software issue, any way I can test that out?
Bump. Can someone running marshmallow please test this out real quick for me? Play this on max volume and see if left is considerably quieter than right - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTvJoYnpeRQ
Thanks guys! Gotta love that over a hundred people that saw this and couldn't take about 30 seconds out of their day to try this out for me
Anyways I'm probably sending the phone back. Gonna have to go back to struggling with my old HTC One S while I wait for a replacement.
Actually I'm having a very similar issue.
My phone had perfect speakers since I got it but recently it fell face down and the display went boom! No cracks anywhere though.
The service guys replaced the display but now the top speaker had a very loud crackling, at the max volume level only, when playing deep bass, still loud.
So I take it to service again and this time they made the top speaker very very quiet but the crackling was gone.
I asked them to fix it but they said it's always been like that.
After struggling for some 15 minutes they agreed to look into it. They tell me that they've replaced the top speaker module but the sound is still low.
I can even test the issue using the help app, hardware diagnostics.
Now I don't know how to get it fixed.
