ring time - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

doesnt matter which ring tone i use thephone only rings for about 10 secs before going to answer phone
can i extend this in any way looked in settings but cant see any thing

I think this has to be done using codes from your provider, for example Vodafone has this procedure:
The code you need is as follows:
**61*121**XX#
Replace XX with the number of seconds you want the phone to ring for, in multiples of 5. Shortest is 05 and longest is 30.
Press send on the phone, and it should respond with the message "Call Divert No Reply" or similar.
Hope this helps.

im on voda phone
tried that and got a parameters are not valid message

You don't need to use the GSM codes (although it will work.) You can do this in the standard Windows Mobile Settings in the personal tab. Personal -> Phone -> Services tab -> Call Forwarding -> ..
Look for 'Forward phone calls only if ... No answer: forward after xxx seconds.

Very handy - thanks

ring duration before voicemail orange UK

my blueangel has a great ringtone i want to keep but i would like to increase the ring duration before the voice mail kicks in
anyone know how to do this orange CS dont seem to?
have tried **61*voicemailnumber*duration up to 30 secs# =no joy
thanks
This exactly the same thing I wanna know. Anyone can answer this plz.
You could try going to Phone -> Menu -> Options -> Services -> Call Forwarding -> "Get Settings" and you should see a screen like my attached image, just set everything the way you like. Unfortunately in germany with the sim i have, i can't set it to more than 30secs, for that i would have to delete the call forwarding entirely, but the settings you see there should probably help you a little, if that doesn't work, like in my case, contact your carrier, whether there are forced call forwardings or max. times you must not exceed to avoid network traffic and keep their net clean. that is the case in germany, the operaters do not want busy lines when nobody's actually on the phone.

rings before passing to voice mail

Hi All
I've been on the phone to O2 trying to find the code that will extend the period of time my phone rings before passing to voicemail. They gave me some great long code etc but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have any ideas about how to do this on the orbit ?
Jeff
I'm interested in this too.
I remember the old days of a 'normal' phone where you would just set the 'Divert if not answered' and the like and it gave you a length of time to ring before diverting. there doesn't seem to be anything like this on the orbit though..at least not that I've found yet.
Hi, did you tried this ? :
1. Settings -> Phone -> Services
2. Call Forwarding -> Get Settings
3. Forward phone calls only if:
- No answer : (Voicemail number)
- Forward after (time)
Should do what you need.
for the most providers there is a code you have to dial with your phone to switch this on or off. ask your provider or search the homepage of your provider for this

worked for me like a charm cheers Mate
First you need to find your voicemail deposit number. Call your service provider's Customer Services department as they will know it.
PLEASE NOTE: deposit and retrieval numbers are usually different.
IE: my Voicemail retrieval = 121, My Vodafone Voicemail Deposit = +447899xxxxxxx
Once you've determined your voicemail number,
dial *61*(voice mail access number)**(time in multiples of 5 seconds)# and then press SEND/DIAL.
For example, if my voicemail access number is +447899111111 and I want it to ring for 30 seconds before being forwarded to voicemail,
I would type: *61*+447899111111**30#
It is my understanding that the maximum time a phone can ring for before being transferred to voicemail is 30 seconds.
I find this information useful because not all phones have the option to set the transfer time built into their settings/interface.

Calls to this number are bard

Hello forum
I’m having issues retrieving voice mail by pressing the relevant button 1.
Each time press 1 for voice mail I get a warning tone saying “Calls to this number are bard” the only way to retrieve voicemail is to dial 222 via the service provider’s options.
I’ve been in contact with my network provider and have had the voice mail set up but I still can’t access voice mail. Can some one help please?
Hi, I really dont know much about your network, but in order for dialing "1" to access my voicemail to work, I had to enter my voicemail number under 1 in speed dial.
Im not sure if you have already done that, or if youre running an oem rom, you may not have to, is it dialing the correct number, when you press "1"?
Also under "settings" / "phone" / "services" tab, you can select to retrieve voicemail, and txt settings....not sure of that may help either.
Sorry if you have already covered this, I just know its easy to overlook things at times, and thought I might suggest it, hope you get your problem sorted.
call to this number are bard.
Thanks for the advice; I’ve actually tried that method the first time I was in contact with service provider T-mobile and it didn’t work. T -mobile push the problem to HTC as the manufacture of the unit. I was in contact with HTC, but the very nice and helpful tech support lady concluded its t-mobile problem. Currently stuck in between.
I'm experiencing the same thing. You can run the programe called "Interactive". Select voice service then call voicemail. A message will ask you if you want to call voicemail, tap yes and it calls. It's an around the house way of doing it, but i know of no other solution right now.
BTW i have a vario III on t-mobile.
Ok i think i've worked it out I was having the same problem.
As from the previous post....when in phone select/ "Menu"/ "Options" in "settings" you'll see a "services" tab, select that then you can select to retrieve voicemail, and txt settings.
Check the voicemail number...I notice that the phone or t-mobile added 050 to the number. If you have something similar you need to remove it. You voicemail number should be you number with +44 at the start, with the first "0" removed and the rest of your number. Eg if your number was:
07951123456
its should read +447951123456
I did this and it works fine.If it works for you maybe you could pass the information onto on to T-mobile.
Hope that helps.

Where did you get the device?? What ROM is it running? pretty sure the 050 might have been added by the ROM or national on the OS. The network should report the full international number (ie the +44xxxxxxxxxxx number).
he is right

I bought it off Ebay. It's running wm6.1, i'm sure it said in the description that it was a HTC Rom, could be wrong ( HTC website is the default site in IE )...but the inital problem is easily sortable.
ps. +44 is the code for the uk, other countries would have different codes, so remember to take that into consideration.

A thanks guy the directions has resolved the issue and I can now dial number one on hemers to retrieve voice mail. As you quite rightly said three digits added in the set of numbers for the voice mail (060) This is what I did START =>SETTINGS=>PHONE=>SERVICES=> high light VOICE MAIL AND TEXT MESSAGE=> click GET SETTINGS=> check the voice mail numbers for any unusual among the set of voice mail numbers.

phone book categories; divert to voice mail by category?

i use my TP2 for both personal and work, and its on 24/7, but i would like to automatically divert business calls(as defind in the caterogy section in outlook, when you hit edit contact - more)
ideally iwould like to be able to select a category and choose if i want ot divert that to voicemail
if it could also define it to auto divert the category based on day and time and if possible based on calender entry or defineable.
also if it could change my profile as well that would be amazing.
so does anyone know how i could go about doing this

I'd strongly recommend "Magicall" by Mobiion ( http://www.mobiion.com/magicall.html )
It can definitely divert via Category; not sure if it can do it by the type of number (business; home) as I've not tried that yet

that is perfect (on the face of it, havnt tested it in the field as yet) i just want to block certain people during certian times, and they are stored ascertain categories.
i hope that the "hang up" option diverts to my voice mail,
and to be able to SMS them as "sorry im on holiday" text is just the iceing on the cake
thanks

Yes - that's exactly what 'hangup' does (same as pressing the red button on any other mobile.
I do think it's a little confusing as to what magicall has named the following operations:
Magicall 'Ignore' = Do nothing, other than mute the ringer
Magicall 'Hangup' = Divert Immediately to voicemail (i.e. 'do not disturb')
I use Magicall primarily for handling outgoing International and/or calls to mobiles. I have different international calling cards set up, and whenever I dial anything other than a US domestic number I get Magicall to change the outgoing number and use a calling card. Saves me $$$, and allows me to use different calling cards for different countries/types of call automatically.
I'm considering writing a small app that will allow me to set and/or toggle individual rules within Magicall for a period of time (I often want to just hit a 'do not disturb' button as I get called into an unscheduled meeting, diverting most calls to VM without actually turning off the phone or manually creating a meeting to say I'm busy)
As you hit the button it would allow you to specify a time period; if that was about to expire the phone would vibrate to alert you, if you did nothing the rule would be re-enabled). I've only been using Magicall for a couple of weeks, but I think this would be a very useful addon (and would work well - there's already a command line interface for external apps to control rules)
If anyone thinks that would be useful, let me know - not sure how many Magicall users there are around here! (I'm not associated with them - just a happy customer!)

Call/Message Forwarding Shortcut on Homescreen

hey there,
would it be possible to add a toggle/shortcut to enable call and message forwarding? its a bit "complicated" to do it through the standard settings.
DN41
There is a shortcut for Directdial. Is not that enough for you? I do not know if there is any shortcut for sms forwarding though...
directdial?
mh...a "toggle" would be really nice though.

Create two new Contacts: one named Forward_On w/ phone number **21# and one named Forward_Off, phone number #21#.
you can pick other names if you like.
now, from your home-screen select
Personalize > Shortcut > direct dial > pick "Forward_On" > pick the item w/ **21# as number and repeat the same for "Forward_Off". Now you should have 2 Items on your homescreen which turn call forwarding on and off.
Finally (if you haven't done so already), set up the destination phone number by calling **21*0123456789#, replacing 0123456789 w/ the phone number you want to redirect all your calls to.
wow thats great
thanks a lot
is that possbile with message forwarding as well?
DN41
No, you cannot do message forwarding this way. (Call forwarding is a gsm-feature which is configured using the codes I mentioned. That means, once you activated this feature, your service provider will do all the forwarding for you, your phone doesn't do anything to forward a call. Message forwarding on the other hand is a sense-feature. Thus it cannot be set up with a gsm-code and you will have to use another method.)
you might want to try an app like Any Cut or BetterCut but I don't think your chances are too great...
ok, but thanks a lot for those informations.
i'm gonna ask the dev of widgetsoid, if he could do such a toggle.
