IE cannot browser Intranet Pages ~ HELP!! - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

If I want to use company's wireless, I have to installed the certificate from Intranet. I connected with USB but I cannot browser all Intranet pages. It re-direct me to Bing Search. but It work on Opera, unfortunately the certificate doesn't support Opera Browser. Any help!!

My guess is that you should :
Start - Settings - Connections - Connections - Advanced - Exceptions
it creates exceptions for intranet addresses.
Never used it but it sounds right...
Also I have WM6.5 on my phone but from what I remember it's the same path on 6.1.

Tried but doesn't work.
The Ip address I got from TP2 is 169.254.2.1.
How I can change to static that match my intranet?

WM6 and OWA / Exchange

Trying to configure OWA access through GPRS with WM6 here with difficulty. Have browsed the forums and many people have the same issue. It is not a problem of certificates because I do get access through Internet Explorer. The problem is that the " /exchange " termination is automatically deleted from the server address necessary for the connection to my OWA.
Is there any way I can cheat WM6 to leave /exchange at the end of the server address ?
Thanks.
Same issue
I'm also having the same issue as you. So far I have had zero luck using activesync on my WM 6.1 device. I haven't found any 3rd party software that will work either. I find this rather hard to believe since the Palm OS has Chattermail++ that lets you sync multiple exchange server email accounts on the same device, and that's been working for years. Surely someone has found a solution to this?
After days of hard work with Exchange 2007 i figured out how to synchronize with exchange account
First my scenario
Internet<----->ISA 2006 server <---->Windows 2008 DC+Exchange 2007
[email protected] is my mailbox
windows 2008 FQDN: server.domain.local IP address: 192.168.1.254
Internal Isa server FQDN: isa.domain.local IP address:192.168.1.1
Internet FQDN exchange.domain.com
To works everityng fine i have to do a lot changes in the systems
1.Create a new Certificaet Template from WEB Server templates and add option to that cert to "Export Private key"
1.Generate request with "New-ExchangeCertificate" command in Exchange 2007 shell - you can use this site https://www.digicert.com/easy-csr/exchange2007.htm
1.1.In common names field add server.domain.local,server,exchange.domain.com,autodiscover.domain.com,autodiscover.domain.local and etc.
1.2.Create the new certificate in the local Certificate Authority from generated earlier request
1.3 Install the new cert in Internet Explorer .Export the certificate With "Private Key"
1.4 Install the certificate in >mmc>certificates>computer certificates>Personal
Iport the new certificate with import-exchangecertificate command
1.5 Add CA root certificate in Trusted root certs in the same console
1.6 Repeat steps 1.4 and 1.5 at the Isa 2006 server
2.At your local DNS server create a new Host A record for
autodiscover.domain.com > 192.168.1.254
3.Open ISA 2006 console and create Exchange publishing rules for Active-Sync
3.1 Create a new listener on port 443 with Basic Authentication and select the right certificate which you create at point 1.2
4.Create a new DNS HOST A record in your external DNS server for
autodiscover.domain.com > Your external IP address
5 Install Root CA file on HTC device
Open HTC and try to enter [email protected] and password for the exchange accout
Cross you fingers and wait ,if everithyng works fine your mail client will automatically configure itself
If there is an error you have to investigate
Common errors:
1.You do not have the correnct certificates on Device or there is an error in ISA configuration - YOu must have root ca cert installed on device
2.Autodiscover is not working -missconfigured dns records
How to test connection:
from any browser in or out the organization you have to open https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml with no Cert error.
The main diference between exchange 2007 and 2003 is that that by default
Web applications on iis 6 in exchange 2003 are working on http
To access securely Active Sync you must use SSL - https protocol. That is wy we create some cerficates earlier.
If there is any error with autodiscovery function-a you should add server in Outlook mobile not with the https:// address but with FQDN name only
Ot server just add: exchange.domain.com and check SSL option.
There are many toutorials how to install Exchange system and in every toutorial the most important is how to create Certificates.
That scenarion is with local CA in the organization.
Good luck .

Click to collapse
Have an issue with IT Admin blocking ActiveSync (organization has standardized on BlackBerry).
Am using the Emoze (www.emoze.com) client to retrieve mail. It retrieves mails on your device using OWA, instead of ActiveSync.

Exchange Server

Long time user of windows mobile devices and long time reader of this great forum ( well nearly 2 years anyway )
I've not contributed much as I dont posses the knowledge that some of you guys have.
For those new people that come on here the only advice I would ever give is search and read, the answers are nearly always there.
Anyway on to my point.
I have just set up an exchange server ( windows small business server 2003 ) and have things syncing across the airwaves nicely.
Laptop, desktop and mobile device all saying the same thing with no duplicates poping up. ( Always seemed to be a problem when syncing between two computers, for me anyway )
Also able to use Outlook Web Access.
Set this up for myself for a couple of reasons, firstly to make sure all computers where synced properly and secondly because it was worth a challange to learn how to do it.
If there are any people out there that would like the facility that exchange server gives PM me, as i will give it a go setting it up.
You will get exchange server syncing ( calender, contacts, tasks and emails ) with desktop/laptop outlook, outlook web access and an email address that you will can use to forward existing mail to. ( sorry only way to get emails to you )
Going to open this up for a couple or more people mainly to get it working properly. ( so far no problems for myself )
If I do open it up for more a donation would be nice to help pay for the outlay of equipment and for the increase in my electric bill to keep it going.
So if anyone is interested feel free to PM me.
What do you have it running on? Looking at doing the same myself.
Just a bog standard computer, nothing special
An old MSI K8 Neo motherboard with an Athlon 64 3000 2 Gig ram
Dual 250 gig discs in raid mirror for data
and a 120gig for operating system
Windows 2003 small buisness server with R2 technologies
it was also an excuse to upgrade by desktop as well.
well chuffed with how seamlessly it works with the syncing.
do you have microsoft direct push enabled on that exchange server? I would like to do that myself, don't know if it's possible
Yes got it set up.
They call it direct push but i think it goes more along the lines of your phone keeping a link open to the exchange server then as soon as an email is recieved it gets pushed across.
From what ive seen so far i'm sure the battery life is longer now than having the phone looking at a set time period for new mail.
Easy to set up as well, especially the phone side.
thanks, is the direct push functionality included in exchange server. Is it on the install cd's? I'd like to install it for my own domain, don't want to spend lots of money on blackberry server or services.
2.edge is enabled all the time on your phone, just as with blackberry? Does your phone send data at an interval, or is it the server that sends?
You need to make sure you have SP1 or R2 Technologies version for direct push with the server software
you have to set up a user profile that has permission to you the mobile services.
Also if your on a dynamic ip address its handy to have an external service set up to keep track of any changes there. And to get the full use of the server a domain name.
on the phone side you go to activesyn, and in the menu is configure server option. configure the server and thats it done.
The phone does seem to have a data connection all the time.
While i'm at work today i will write out the steps i had to do to get it working fully.
at work now so here we go :-
1) Get a domain name www.
2) If on broadband and on a dynamic IP use the services of someone like zoneedit for redirection.
(for remote access) vpn.yourdomainname to your broadband ip address
(for mail ) mail.yourdomainname to your broadband ip address
(for web ) www.yourdomainname to either your ip address if hosting it on your server or to the ip address of your web host.
(for ftp access ) ftp.yourdomainname to either your ip address if hosting it on your server or to the ip address of your web host.
follow the other instructions on zoneedit to forward the dns server addresses to your domain name admistrator.
3) Get Windows SBS or Server 2003 SP1 With R2 Technologies
4) Load onto a PC
5) Make sure all service patches and updates are loaded.
6) Download a program for updating any changes of dynamic IP address such as DirectUpdate and set up a couple of updates to the vpn mail and ftp.yourdomainname. ( easy enough follow the instructions )
7) Go through the todo list and set up wizards on the server.
a) make sure when setting up email and internet that in the creation of a certificate you put in vpn.yourdomainname
b) also make sure when setting up user access they have privilages for mobile access
8) go into internet explorer, content menu and find the certificate you have created and export it.
9) connect your phone via activesync to a computer connected to the server network and copy over the certificate.
10) run the certifcate on the phone to install it.
11) go to activesync on the phone ( can disconnect for this bit ) and set up exchange server using the vpn.yourdomainname
12) after that it should sync
I may have missed a couple of steps in that or have done something wrong but it is all the steps i can remember and it worked for me.

Unable to browse to secure sites

I just receieved my TP2 yesterday from mobilephonesdirect (with a T-Mobile contract).
I've run into a problem with trying to browse to secure sites or access my hosted exchange and pop email accounts (both over secure connections).
Activesync returns the error "ActiveSync cannot reach the server. Check that the server address and proxy server settings are correct.". Trying to browse to a https://... address in opera mobile causes it to crash, and in IE I get a dialog saying it cannot find the url and "Make sure the path or Internet address is correct."
I did discover this thread over at expansys about the same problem with the Touch Pro (http://www.expansys-usa.com/ft.aspx?k=113037) but following the steps doesn't work for me, unticking the "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet" option just reticks it the next time I view the settings.
I can't find any settings different between my new TP2 and Vario3 so I'm stuck. Has anyone else had issues?
It's fixed now
I did a soft reset and then the unticking the proxy server setting actually worked. Not quite sure why the TP2 requires this to be unticked yet my Vario 5 is working with it ticked.
Doesn't work
I can untick the proxy but this doesn't solve my activesync/exchange problem. I can access POP3 email etc fine and access my exchange account over wifi or via USB, so I assume it's a T-mobile issue. Anybody any help? I have tried searching and the only other h suggestion was to change proxy server to end in .135 instead of .132, but this doesn't work either.
Now does work
Had to delete the T-mobile settgins that wereautomatically configured, restart, then do the automatic configuration again, then uncheck proxy box before making any connections, then restart and voila!

How do you prevent ActiveSync from setting the proxy on phone

About once a week, my phone will have the proxy on MediaNet set to my work computer's network proxy.
This only affects Google Maps' ability to see traffic but I use that function a LOT.
For some reason, I am unable to change it in connections because it says MediaNet is pre-configured and doesn't let me change it there. To fix it, I have to delete the content of the proxy server in a couple places in the registry but that is a pain in the butt.
1. Does anyone know how to prevent either of my sync'd computers from changing the proxy server on my phone?
2. Does anyone know how I can access Media Net's settings through "Connections" and not through the registry?

[Q] Wifi, Bluetooth, and Microsoft Exchange Issues

I'm trying to find solutions to a couple of problems, but so far haven't had a ton of luck. For reference, I'm running Ginger Villain 1.5 on the G2, and I don't know if it might be the cause of some of these problems.
For bluetooth: is there an official way to patch the OS to support HID? I found an app that makes it a keyboard input method, and it works quite well, but OS support is better.
For Wifi: I'm trying to connect to my university's wifi, but just as it starts to connect, it disconnects. The school has an auto configure program that it recommends you to download - Xpress Connect, but it said no networks in range or something. So, I looked at the settings on my laptop and tried to manually configure it. The network uses PEAP with MSCHAPV2 phase 2 authentication. Android mentions a CA certificate and a user certificate, which only have the options of none specified. Do I need a certificate to connect to this type of network? Android also seems to reset phase 2 to none after I hit save, because when I hit edit again, it is set to none.
For Exchange: I tried out the Touchdown Exchange Trial, but it never seemed to retrieve any data. I finally figured out the settings it needed to connect to my school email - Connection mode: ActiveSync ONLY, Server: m.outlook.com. At some point in settings it complains about a certificate missing or not accepted. It acts like it is syncing with my exchange account, but it never shows anything in my email or on my calendar, just a white page.
OK, I have gotten Exchange working to my satisfaction with Google's mail and calendar apps. The only thing that remains unsolved is how to get this tricky wifi to connect properly.
