I've beed searching the net for a suitable carrying case with belt "loop" but I can't seem to find a suitable one. I have already purchased one case with a belt loop but the loop is positioned at the bottom of the unit, therefore the case tends to lean over and stretches the loop even further.
I'm not interested in the "belt clip" type as I'm concerned that the clip will detach from the unit. Cost is not an issue as it's pointless having an expensive phone and shoving it in a cheap case.
Could anyone recommend a case and website
Thanks
Great Forum!

Well I am not a happy bunny !!!
3 weeks ago I had the screen on my XDA II replaced for £160 after it cracked (my fault) and then I sold that unit and upgraded to an XDA IIi and less than two weeks of having that I have cracked the screen on that one, so bye bye another £160 !!
I have a pretty standard case which I wear on my belt but it doesnt seem to offer any protection if you lean up against something hard (no jokes please) as the screen is just behind the leather and the pressure breaks the screen.
Anyone suggest a hard (like proporta) case which I could clip onto a belt (for work purposes)
Many thanks
You need an aluminum case I think, but bulky but good protection and it has a belt clip.
I think I have decided on a proporta aliminium case - I know they do one with a belt clip which clips onto the back of the case but I dont trust clips. much prefer a belt loop that you can thread a belt through.
Proporta do a belt holster which you can slip it into, which for work purposes is the only time I would need to carry it on my belt.
Its more the waiting for up to two weeks that gets me. I really depend on it for work and stuff and having a Nokia 3210 loan phone just isnt the same
Has anyone tried the aluminium case for universal? Will appreciate user opinion as I intend to go for one.

I'd also be interested in the answer to this, please!
I have an aluminum case for my vodafone v1640, I find that its ok although a bit of a pain when you're using the phone. Also you can't open it flat when you are charging it. But I can put up with that as I like the protection it gives what is an expensive bit of kit.

Thanks. That counts it out for me.
I got a new aluminium case of flea bay for 99p + p&p of course.
I got it to protect my MDA Pro as I carry it in a work bag, its versatile as it opens flat (unless you have ear phones or usb plugged in), the case grips the keyboard part of the PPC but not the screen so you can twist the screen either way without hassle and. All the buttons round the edge of the ppc are accessable even when the case is closed, there are holes cut out for the camera & flash, but you can not see the whole of the display with the screen flipped and the lid of the case closed.
Aluminium case too heavy for the belt clip
I have used an aluminium case for a while because it seemed very practical, I have worn it with its belt clip. The problem was that the case was too heavy for the plastic belt clip and one day it suddenly broke at the weakest point. There was no mechanical impact, one part of the plastic simply peeled off from the other one and the case felt down.
Thank you all. I have made up my mind. Basically I am looking for protection. I am presently using an unbranded leather case with non removable belt clip. As I keep my exec in the pocket the clip is bit of an inconvenience as the exec can not be kept flat on a surface without removing the case!
I don't know what it's like for you guys around the world, but certainly in UK the accessories are awful, especially the case... couldn't believe after buying such an expensive unit, that's the best they could come up with!

It is the same here and the ads are quite misleading. Very often the material supplied is not what is shown in pictures. Unfortunately, the choice here is also very limited.
Hi,
I'm looking for a descent protective side carrying case for a TYTN II Kaiser/AT&T Tilt.
Now, the there are lots of cases available in all kinds of shapes and materials but there's one thing that I need badly: a belt LOOP in stead of a belt clip.
I've lost one of my devices already in the city by kneeling down to tie up a shoe and the case slipped off my belt. It was a belt-clip type. Consequence: I live in Belgium and my phone ended up in Morocco. (The bastards even called me to ask me if I wanted to buy it back for a couple of hundred Euro's )
Anyway; don't want to risk the chance to lose one again and therefore this post.
Do you guys can recommend an affordable case (leather or fabric) that protects the phone well and that meets the condition of a belt loop?
TIA
Descent protective case? One that protects it from falling. That would be nice. I don't know of any with belt loops but the Krussel one I have has a spring loaded belt clip that hooks on under the waistband of jeans and is pretty secure. With a belt it might be even better.

Only $20US (can't convert to Euros on the fly)
Thx Wilhelm. That case looks pretty well but yes, I definetly need that loop instead of a clip.
Not taking any chances anymore
My wife and I both have cases with hoops as well as clips ... available from ... fleabay ..
http://stores.ebay.com/greatdealcenter
Thx for the link albrandwood
There are some sweet deals on that fleabay-store. The only problem is that I live in Belgium (Europe) and they only ship to the US/Canada
Anyway, I got an unbranded case with a belt loop from a colleague at work. One that he never used because he bought another type after he purchased his phone. Once he found out that I was looking for a holster I got to have his case.
Thx once again to all for your input !
I'm looking for a universal sleeve (like with BlackBerrys) that fit the Captivate. The inner material has to be really soft, so as not to scratch the phone (obviously). Does anyone know of an easily obtainable and inexpensive product that meets this description?
Is this () what you may be looking for? I had bought this for the Samsung Blackjack II. It fits the Captivate nice and snug too. Samsung branded, good quality, its on Amazon for $6.46.
If the link does not show up in this post put a general search on Amazon for "Samsung i607 Blackjack Flat Lthr Pouch".
I got the neoprene case on ebay for the htc evo

it fits the captivate perfectly, but it does have the htc logo on the front that may bother you
pdair makes one specifically for the captivate

I've been looking for the same thing... EVERYWHERE.... so far this is the only one I can find, and I believe at this point I'm just going to give in and buy it
got my case from pdair... while not what I really wanting it will work...
some more info for those who care:
the inside isn't lined, it's just soft leather.
sides are not solid and by that I mean like this: http://goo.gl/m6Ry obviously different styles but the side is constructed the same, with the top and bottom portions open and a bit of elastic in the middle.
it fits perfect, and it's about as thick/bulky as you'd expect. which leads me to believe it would help a lot in a fall/drop.
seems sturdy and well made all in all a good product.
You could try something like this over at Fommy: http://bit.ly/dAoHBI
I had one like this on my Tilt2 before and worked out pretty well. I was thinking of getting one for my Captivate before I ended up going with a TPU case.
I believe they also have horizontal cases, and other pouches that fit our phones.
they have a case like this at walmart and it didn't fit very well... I guess I'm just worried that a generic case wont fit the phone properly since every generic case Ive tried to fit it in so far has failed to come close to a decent fit.
at $15 I might give it a go though, thanks
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Has any one found one that fits nice and is made for the captivate. I've gone to fry's, bestbuy, radio shack, and walmart, even ones I've found in gas stations don't fit right. Bout to break down and make one.
From a phone on an app

I bought this when i got my captivate. You can fit the phone in it, but the sleeve is too short for captivate, which block the top part of the sleeve that is meant to close to keep the phone from coming out easily. The phone will slide out if you put the sleeve upside down, but its not a problem for me, so i am still using it.
I too wanted a BlackBerry style sleeve. This is what I use-
krusell-gaia-mobile-pouch
I can't post a link or I would, but I got mine at the AndroidCentral store.
The BB sleeve has those nice rubberized edges to help cushion a fall, and those sleeves are a "little" more stiff than this one, which is mostly just pseudo-leather with a soft inner lining. The edge may still help on a drop, but the most important part...
It goes in and out of your pants pocket nicely while in the sleeve.
Has anyone experiences with bags for flipout. i dont have one because of the formfactor...but i would like to have a cheap solution. maybe a bag which belongs to another mobile and works for the flipout?
or a camerabag...
thanks for help
i have a solution. a sock by bagmovil. fits good and cheap.
I found a case on Amazon UK for around £3.50 if that's any help. Can't remember the name but I just searched for "Flipout" and had a browse through the seemingly endless array of incompatible tat they have. The cases are pretty cool, range of colours, pretty hardy, dirt cheap. Mine's breaking already but it's kissed the kitchen floor a good few times now.
my last bag by bagmovil wasn´t a good solution...bad quality! now i have a bag mady by my own...a piece of leather and some wool...very save for my flipout
For anyone still reading, I'm considering the PDAir belt pouch range.
They have what appears to be a basic slip-on case, a standard belt holster type with magnetic closure top strap, and another belt one where the front cover flaps over allowing you to open the Flipout, although the downside is the clear plastic top part covering the keyboard.
Search for "PDAir Flipout" on Amazon.
On ebay has several covers (case)
