Battery friendly Navigation? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hey
are there a navigation software (tomtom, navigon.....) that are batteryfreindly, to the HTC HD?
I Use IGO 8.
-Daniel

Probably not seen as the software simply enables the GPS hardware and it's that that drains your battery.
You could try flashing a different rom though, some give improved battery life all round.

some idears to witch rom that should be?

Dutty's 3.9 Turbo works fine with iGO and battery lasts better than any rom i tryed.

Hi to all.
Can anyone tell me which rom will fulfill these requirements ???
1. Speed (fast/very fast)
2. Look (not important)
3. Lot of storage space for users files
4. Small program memory usage
5. Phone/wifi/bluetooth/ module with good signal (if possible)
6. Small battery usage - mayby you know how to stop battery warming ?
7. Good camera drivers (if exist)
Of course i know that signal and battery mostly depends from radio but my 1.00.25.05 is working realy bad.Do you suggest to change?
Which radio have small battery usage but good perfomance?
Thanks in advance.
Maybe Windows Revolution by michal_banszel?
Radio 1.15 is quite popular.

[Q] Some questions about Android on HTC Diamond

Hi!
I've started to use a DIAM100 approx. 1 year ago. I've tried a lot of ROMs with it, and I think that the MEMO ROM provides the most functionalities/services, without too much speed slowdown, so I'm using it for every day usage, but I have to say:
Windows Mobile provides a lot of functionalities, but:
it's a little slow
it's GUI is a little ugly
it has a lot of apps, and I'm happy with most of them, but there are dozens of apps, that aren't usable, or they are very slow, or/and haves ugly GUI.
(If I use internet on my device, or write emails on it, [in brief: if the screen's backlight is on & I touch the screen a lot] the battery drains fast... Is this only my problem? Do I have to buy new batteries?)
(If I use GPS without car recharger, the battery drains fast... Is this only my problem?)
So I would be happy to move to Android (maybe iPhone but it has a lot of limitations... does Android have limitations?). I like my device, and it's a cheap one, so if I don't have to, then I don't want to buy a new one, so I tried a lot of Android builds...
I think that everybody knows what's the problem with them:
The battery life is short with them
Camera isn't working with them
A variety of other problems...
I have read dozens of forums, researched the internet a lot in that topic, but I have some questions:
Where can I follow the development process of the Android porting to HTC?
If the battery draining problem would be solved i would use my current device for every day use with Android. What do you think: Approximately when this can be done?
Is there any current Android build for a DIAM100, that can be used for every day usage? (I want to use mobile internet and push sync, and listen to some music with my headset... If these are working with any build for one day, than it's OK. (If I use Windows Mobile and do these things, than my mobile can hold the battery power only for one day... I have to recharge daily... If I only enable the push sync, and make some calls, than it can hold for ~2 days.))
I'm a programmer, and I would be happy if I could take a part in the porting work... How can I participate? There are some opportuinities that I found, but what do you think, what is the best?
What do you think? Should I wait for the porting to be done, or buy a new, Android based device?
(If the build that meets my requirements, and can run some 3D games too, and can use the G-Sensor, than I would be very happy I have a HTC Hero now for only some days, and I have to say, that it's very cool...)
Thanks for any answer in advance!
Android is like windows mobile, you can customize how you want
The battery is a problem and that's sad,you can use it for a day but you won't have to use wi-fi,3g and bluetooth
This is the biggest project involved in porting android 2.1 and 2.2 on our diamond
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711692 this is for 2.2(froyo)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=601751 this is for 2.1(eclair)
I personally use froyo

Acesmod 007 -battery life and performance

Hey xda
I come from cyanogen7 and went for the acesmod rom because I was missing the nice widgets, looks, and overall performance of sense. I have now spend some time on acesmod and I must say that it looks very nice and I especially think that the sense keyboard works a lot better when writing danish.
My problem is now that I find acesmod drinking my battery like crazy. Besides this I find it to be lagging a lot and not that smooth a experience that one could expect.
Do anybody know what I could do about this. Have you guys experiences the same.
Alternatively I am open to other sense based roms.
Thanks xda people!
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
sense roms do use considerably more battery than cm7 roms, nothing you can really do about it apart from maybe calibrate your battery, theres a thread on here about how to do it
Again, calibration is not to be used to increase battery performance... Disable htc.com sync, use as less widgets and let them sync as rarely as possible. Disable pocket mode too, sign out of Latitude and make sure that your market and maps are not in the foreground when you turn your screen off as they won't release the wakelock then.
I can hear that there is not much I can do. Had every updating things disabled and also got the black wallpaper for power saving.
Are there then any sense based roms you would prefer over acesmod 007?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I have good battery life on 007 mod.... But I have used only sense roms, so I cannot compare it to others.
mine life battery is good, try using andrev_oc
andrev_oc? (This is only my second rom)
see here how to install
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16803896&postcount=355
hope it helps
edit: with ES File Explorer (in settings tick the root explorer and mount file system) copy the freqs to system/etc/andrev_oc
Interesting... I have tried a few Sense ROMs and was quite dissapointed by the performance, memory consumption and battery life, went to CyanogenMod 7.1 and now tried Acesmod007.
For me, it does everyhing as smooth as cyanogen, and something obviously very strange - the same or maybe even longer battery time. A full day with gmail sync, active gtalk usage, a little browsing, ~25min of calls, messaging... on 2G+3G and (mostly) WiFi. And the battery level is still not very low.
I'm very happy with this
The new 007 mod (v39) has even better battery life!
And the speed...

Isn't everyone. There IS NO BEST! Everyone and their needs and uses of their Phone can vary from one extreme to the other so what one Person might consider as "good battery life" on one ROM another Person may not.
Thats my question 2..I'm ussing the stock 4.0.2.A.0.62..Hope to find and ICS rom where the battery life its the same..
Everything depend what you expect from phone.
I tried few different way to check the battery life and it's look like below.
If I have swith off Data trans., Auto sync, and use wi-fi only if I need, few phone calls and SMS then the battery life is amazing up to 65h. (it was tested on my holiday)
and on the same ICS 4.0.4 Kernel and ROM (I have use DooMLord kernel and jadar13254 Xperia Ice Bean 4.0.4 ROM) if I using normally the phone with full auto sync and data tarns. wi-fi turn on all the time then the battery life decreasing to 10h.
Like you see it's depend how you use your phone and what you want to do with it
Even the best ROM & Kernel does not improve battery life if you use it extensively.
You need to find a medium point i.e. see which ROM you like visually (then you can simply add or remove apps which you need or not, and then adjust itself to the kernel that will be best for this ROM.
