"New" Manila landscape backgrounds (Dutty Xtreme etc)

I've tried searching but can't seem to find what I'm looking for!
Has anyone managed to crack how to get backgrounds to look OK on the new Manila when in landscape mode? the closest i've seen so far is the blue max theme, but I don't want a blue theme or an analog clock!
Does anyone know how to get landscape backgrounds/wallpaper working properly?
failing that, does anyone know which .manila files I would need to edit?

i hope maxycy will give us instructions how to manage it by ourselves!!!
i hope mun_rus will find out a good solution in order to have our own background in all tabs too.

Well, I did manage to do that somehow..
Basically, you'll need a 800X480 or 1330X800 pixels wallpaper..
Doing so, you'll have wallapapers that support landscape mode, but not all would work!

I tried installling it over Dutty V2 with Max blue theme, and my manilla got FUBAR. It got stuck and tabs disappeared.
Guess this only replaces original v3 manilla?
edit: just took a look at the .cab. Are you sure it installs everything? Looking at the setup xml, it doesn't do anything with the "BACKGR~1.000" file..?

Right, I think people are mis-understanding here!
I am after (and this thread is about) changing the background picture ON MANILA V3 (as in Dutty Xtreme and other ROMs) Manili V3 supports landscape mode, but currently the background picture doesn't stretch or re-orientate itself to accomodate landscape images. Instead it appears to centre the image around the middle of the portrait screen, and remain locked in that position in landscape mode.
This thread is NOT about making Manila V2 (as in Stock HD) LOOK like Manili V3

By using a 800X480 or 1330X800 pixels wallpaper!
As for the clock & buttom bar;
Clock: I used Max's Analog Clock for Dutty's ROM
Buttom Bars: 12aon Iphone Renaissance Icons / Text theme Icons
Transparant Buttom bar + transparant slider

& that's why I'm using this method until someone figures it out
Another solution here is to use pattern wallpapers, not the ones with a spacific picture in the middle.. & try to maintain its graphic quality within the 800X480 pixels..
There should be a trick to it.. but I don't know how........

Yeah, I'm curious to find out whether there's a specific Manila file for portrait and landscape or whether it's just the one file scaled/stretched for both...
If there's sparate files, then that could be used to good avantage!
Don't have the time to filter through each and every .manila file to find them though!

The way I got to understand it, is that there is 2 files for landscape and 2 for portrait.
Check my post here as well, might clear things up.

Classic Black Themes with Analog and flip clock
These are the newest.
First from all a big thanks to Max for the 1c684cd8 manila file. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=480916
I have make the new square analog clock, in two versions: Black font and transparent font. At the most screenshots I have the transparent.
There are cabs at the attached files for the clocks and for every background.
The Cabs are for the new manila, so install only if you have cooked rom with Manila version 2.
Cabs work without problems and any time you want unistall them, you can do that from Settings/remove Programs.
You can put Official slider for Tabs Icons if you don't like the mine.
You can find the file at the attached. Unzip and copy-paste overwrite at the windows folder.
If someone with older manila want to use the backgrounds I give them like wallpapers so as to use from Settings/wallpaper.
Just make right click at the picture and save us at your pc.

Is it moveable like normal analog clocks? Also, does this work with mun_rus background for all tabs on the new manila v3?

Looks awesome mate, bring it on!!!

It is just a test for the looking.
I have to try to make the clock skin to be real file, not a picture just on the background.
I will see..... if no, max has nice clocks.
Mun ras cab it isn't customise until now.

Just a little suggestion. Could you remove the clock base from the background of the tabs except "Home". I have read somewhere that there are different manilla files for the Home background and all other backgrounds (not sure if this is the case with manilla3) so maybe it is possible to use the base as part of the backgroung (great idea btw!) and not have it mess with the looks of other tabs. And another thing - a slightly longer clock hands won't hurt either

I work on this my friend. But because I like a clock from Max I will try also with this.
Maybe I change the background. I have find an other very nice. I want see how looks in HD screen and I will upload.

Introduction:
This is based on my previous "Shadowsong" skin (which no longer exists).
Many people found that too gloomy and dark, so I adapted and made it... happier!
In the process I tried to preserve the balance between tech (glow, embossed) and
nature (background, colors) which I also tried to approach in Shadowsong.
This skin uses a lot newer code, with some neat features. Enjoy!

Rotastrain made small tutorial on how to make backgrounds for this. (It's his panoramic code). Search for it, in this forum.

While I really appreciate the scenic background, I must say that reading white text on the light background is really not comfortable. Either the text will have to be made darker or that beautiful background has to change!
Yes, Rota made a nice tutorial to make panoramic backgrounds, but for those of us who have no IT skills, is there some place where panoramic backgrounds are available that we could just dump into a folder ... easy and simple?

The background is 01253_silence_1280x800.jpg from interfacelift.com (maybe the source is another size then 1280x800).

Actually, that is not my source. It's a wallpaper that is available at several sites all over the internet.

I've received quite some feedback on the TP2 forum, regarding some issues and suggestions.
Does everyone in here think it's just fine as it is? I'm not getting many replies, so I'm actively asking for 'em now.

After installed, there is a part of white color on the "moving tab", even when I move it to anywhere , it still nothing change, but the backgroud of the tab such as home , message, mail ,etc, which is no problem
On this solution, is that mean's "If your TF3D becomes white after installation" ?
Beacuse I have also tried install 'compatibility cab' but there is nothing change, thx

No, that's not the same bug. With the white, I mean entire manila.
Please post a screencapture of the bug, so I can better understand what the problem is.

I see. I haven't seen this problem before. I think it's because Rotastrain's crystal slider isn't compatible with the CAB TF3D2. Rotastrain is the only one I know who can fix this. You had best ask him, so he can tell you which files he needs from you to be able to patch it.

help with stock icon

The 174ba15d_manila contains the correct image (see cfc gui screenshot), but displays the old stock icon (see other screenshot). I think this might have to do with the manila name. 174ba15d_manila is named stock_preview.qtc, while all of the other preview icons are named filename-hero.qtc (ie home-hero.qtc). The stock preview icon is the only one not listed under manila\icon preview. However, I do not know how to change the manila file name, so I cannot test it. Would you be able to test this to see if it corrects the issue? Thanks.

That moving background is Rotastrain's Panosidetoside. You can modify it, as it's just normal manila image files (QTC).

[MOD] Manila 2.5.2011/2.5.2012 Background On All Tabs - UPDATED February 28, 2010

Hi, people.
This is a variation on the now classic "background on all tabs" mod for Manila. It was made for the new Manila 2.5.2011/2.5.2012 and does the following:
1. Displays the selected wallpaper on all the tabs of the Manila interface.
2. It stretches the wallpaper so it's rendered the same way as the WM 6.5 is - so you can use the same wallpaper on both Manila and WM and it will look the same. The only difference is that if the wallpaper is smaller than the screen area it occupies it is not tiled, as the WM is.
3. It sets the opacity of the wallpaper to 65 (65%) so it looks similar to the WM wallpaper as displayed on the start menu.
It still suffers from the low quality wallpaper thing in Manila (as the texture size limitation to 512x512 in the OpenGL on Touch HD makes Manila downsample the wallpaper to 512x512 and then use it as a texture on a bigger rectangle - there are several techniques to have the wallpaper displayed in full quality, but that's beyond the scope of this mod).
I'm usually using it with 800x800 wallpapers, so it's consistent with WM even in landscape.

The wallpaper stretching was not 100% correct when getting into/going out from landscape mode.
Version 0.3:
Small fixes + a version with 100% wallpaper opacity.
Manila 2.5.2012 - Bk4All.cab:
Tested on 2.5.2012 with Co0kieMonster's famous mod, it should play along well with a variety of Manilas and Manila mods, as it only changes the background image loading code, no mode9 file modifications anymore - thanks Co0kieMonster for the hint.

Yes same here!

i have also installed cookies home tab.
If i install this Background4All Tabs i dont see the softkeys, no shortcuts. The Background is on all Tabs
Maybe you can fix this miancule

I really hope for a bg4all for build 2012 soon!

Yes. All you have to do is select the same image as 'Home tab wallpaper' and 'Lock screen wallpaper' and you'll end up with identical wallpapers on Manila and Windows Mobile, in both portrait and landscape - to avoid tiling anf possibly other issues, use an image of at least 800x800 pixels.

CHT Christmas theme & 2 CHT Widgets

Hey guys,here is the ported theme from Duncan001
credits goes to Dunc001
Instructions:
Download and install the cab then soft reset. Do the same with the 2 CHT widget cabs.
Download and unzip the wallpaper folder and copy them to wherever you keep your wallpapers.
Set the Very wide WP to Christmas WP2 and skin the taskbar with the Christmas Taskbar WP.
Add the email, SMS, dSign clock (Christmas Layout) and Days2Xmas widgets (select your language in layout options)
Change the main and sub text colours for the email and SMS widgets in CHTE to 252,202,38
Add the toggles and notification icons as freelinks - toggles need to be down the right side or the candy canes will look a little daft!).
Select your softkeys in CHTE.

But, I was talking about the Background.. Look at the Image I attached..
I was wanting that Image to be in "Black" Color.!!

sorry i cant help with that...seems this file is packed in a manila file,and i dont know(yet) how to edit them..

Yeah.. Big THANKS to the Original Author "Dunc001".. And your work is really Nice.. Why don't you try Porting other themes.. HD2 has too many Beautiful Themes.. And we really need a guy like you who can Port those Beautiful themes for our HD Mini..
