I got off the phone with a sprint rep a little while ago, i told him that my mogel was having problems and i didn't want to use my insurance if the touchpro 2 was coming out soon. he checked and said it would be out on july 25.

I have a dying Mogul too. Can't.....hold....out...much....longer! Sprint guy tried to sell me on a TP, but he forgets that I demo'd one from him, and I didn't think it was worth leaving a fully functional Mogul. Glad I held out.
We've all heard rumors before, so is there anyone else who's heard this release date?
well if thats true that would be great. I went to a local sprint store, tp/diamond werent even on display and i asked about the tp2, he said they havent told them anything and it will probly come out in october or so

lol it's only 3 days later it's not that bad. at least you have a TIME FRAME to look for for a release. AT&T is being stupid with their TP2 variant.

sales rep is wrong, phones are always released on a Wednesday... the date has been stated in multiple internal documents, there is no reason they would push it back 3 days

no. No. NO. I just talked to Pda/BlackBerry dept. and it is definately the 12th. T-Mob NEVER releases phones on a Saturday. It's just the company's policy. Wednesday is like a "Thank God I am in the middle of the week" release date. I am upgrading from a BB, they have made a special allotment for me , I guess I am just used to HTC phones. The local T-Mob stores don't know nothing. Heck, I went instore yesterday to my fav rep, and she said they didn't even have the display version yet, so how would they know. lol. But then again, she is getting the myTouch 3G so .. well.. .. anyway.

Lets hope so man. I can't wait to get it my hands on it. I will pop by at the tmo store in my neighborhood tomorrow and see whats up.
Maybe that will give me more time to sell my BB 8900. I need a buyer and I don't have one yet. I wont be able to buy the TP2 if I don't get someone to buy my 8900. I will have to get it 2-3 weeks after it drops!

I was on the phone with T-Mobile earlier asking if I have an upgrade. While finding out she asked me what phone I wanted and I said the TP2. She said "that doesn't release until Wednesday!"
All right so I am getting mine tomorrow. My local Tmo store has 6. Guy told me 2 are already spoken for and I just got the 3rd one.

I'm with AT&T, but I really hope that is not going to be the price point.

I was going to get this phone, but the $349.00 price is outrageous. I am NOT under contract with T-Mobile (customer for SEVEN YEARS), so if they can't come down, I'm walking right over to AT&T. I've been using a Wing for two years and I've been waiting patiently for T-Mo to release a new winmo phone, and the price turning out to be so high after all this waiting has me steamed.

I'm just worried all of the carriers might price it the same.
$349 with a $50 mail-in-rebate I could understand. But $349 and a 2 year contract is really bad.

To add fuel to my fire, they are also going to require a data plan for the entire two years. I live in a rural area, so I am stuck with T-Mo's notoriously slow EDGE network; T-Mo's 3G network doesn't come within 35 miles of my house!
Delays in production due to LCD screen shortage. Sprints reps have informed me that stocks wont refill for another month. Has anyone heard otherwise?
That sucks but nothing new as they had shortages since launch
misinformation.... thats not the issue. there are still shipments just not as much as one would hope for

That's what anyone selling them will say and if you try to order from their "warehouses" you're just going to keep waiting anyways. Stores get shipments maybe once a week. The quantity depends on what market you're in. My sister-in-law order one at Best Buy. She had been waiting for a month already with no hopes of getting the phone still, when i walk into Best Buy to purchase the white Evo and they had two in stock. You're best bet is to just show up at stores and check if they have any. Don't bother calling because they'll probably tell you they don't have any. Try to find out around what time shipments get there and go at those times.

If you are in Columbus, Ohio you can try through one of the A2Z Wireless Sprint stores. It's a one off place i.e. a authorized dealer not Sprint. The thing is that they have scored me 2 EVOs with no hassle in the process 1 on launch day and 1 a week ago. The official sprint stores here are also saying they have some in stock, just check in the morning....
Same thing when checking with 5-10 sprint stores, 4 best buy stores, 2 frys stores, and some local phone stores.
Called them, said they are waiting for them to come in because of lcd shortage. (apparantly lcd is made by samsung and samsung got mad and is trying to sue htc).
One of the best buy stores told me there is over 500 people on the waiting list. So I went on craigslist, and bought a MINT (no scratches, no nothing, pretty much brand new) for 325$. Already rooted with modified stock kernel and fresh rom.
Suggest you check your local craigslist as well.
btw this is in dallas, texas area.

Have you contacted a Sprint store? When my phone bricked, I only had to wait one week (6 days).

So I know this is old news now, but I called Verizon because my phone says I'm not eligible for an upgrade until March 22, but it allows me to click through on the new contract price. The only catch is I can't upgrade from a store or 3rd party, it must be online through VZW. I explained I was holding out for the Nexus and was going to buy it Friday morning and wanted to know when it would be available online, and she confirmed the launch date is in fact the 9th.
Again, I know no one has to believe me, but it was confirmed =)

I like getting mine online so they don't mess with it. That's part of the fun. Turning it on for the first time.

I know this may not be the best place for this but and I never rant but I am pissed and figured everyone in this forum has sprint as a carrier so i would like to get some feedback. Ill try to make this short and add to it if i get any responses.
I bought eh Evo on a 2 yr contract june 2010. in sept of 2011 i bought the galaxy 2. after 3 days i returned it due to LOS. at the time of purchase i asked the rep "if i return this phone will my contract date revert back to june 2010" he said yes. well i returned the phone and a week later when i called to check my contract date it had been changed to sept 2011. I explained the situation after being on the phone for hours and having to fax over receipts and call multiple times over a months period it was "resolved". in Dec the LOS was resolved so I paid full price for the galaxy 2 at Walmart so my contract date wouldn't change. I activated the phone called a week later to check my contract date and it was still june 2011. yesterday I called to add a phone to my line but out of curiosity i asked about my contract date and was told Dec 2011. I had to search for the receipt, fax it to sprint to prove I paid full prince for it and was on the phone for 2.5 hours 3 different times. I told them prove to me that I signed another 2 year agreement. finally I just hung up because it was unbelievable that the reps had to read my notes each time I called and didn't interpret it right. so i had to explain all over again. Finally some lady called me back and resolved the problem. I was so damn pissed and she kept saying please calm down sir i understand you frustration. I calmly said no problem Ms. just tell me how this happened and I will understand. she replied " it seems someone went into the system and changed you date for no reason". My question is would you stick with sprint knowing that this has happened more than once and i have to hold on to receipts on phones that a no longer own just to prove something that was supposedly resolved? I have the receipt for my evo because i still own it and for my second galaxy 2 because I still own it but now it seems i have to keep every receipt even if i don't own the phone anymore. The only reason I may stay is because Whenever i get a tmobile phone i go over 5gb in less than 2 weeks. They have me trapped.

When you add a line on sprint even if you are using your own phone, a new line comes with a 2 year contract with sprint, which to me makes absolutely no sense at all. If you had only switched the phone on to your current evo line the contract date should have remain the same, but from reading what you had wrote up there. It looks like you add a second line while paying full price for the phone.

Nope same number = same line. I used to swap out phones on a weekly basis by just changing the msl and some other number directly on the phone. and ike i said after a week or so after activating this phone i checked to make sure that my contract date didn't change and at that point it had not. someone had to have manually went into my account and changed it. the lady who finally resolved the situation even said someone did something the shouldn't have.
I has similar issues years ago and told Srint to go eff themself and went to Tmo. Only came back to Sprint because I got married and wife had them. Tmo service is much better but gotta keep wife happy.

Up till last week Sprint has my upgrade date as June 1st 2013, they corrected it some time in the last week to Feb 2014... Did they fix every one else's or is this what I get for complaining they charged an upgrade fee even though they told me they wouldn't.

My upgrade was never early - it's 20 months from now.
If I were you, I would've bought another SGS3 online and sold it on CL for $600.
He meant for those ppl that posted a while back ago when they got their s3. Good amount of ppl reported that their upgrade was around June 1st of 2013. I bought this off contract so my upgrade is one June 1st

sprint actually messed up my upgrade.
i purchased an upgrade for $165 through the buy up plan to get the evoLTE. ($165+$200) so i got it for a little more than $365. returned it, then sprint never reset my eligibility. so of course i called in complaining.
the rep at sprint didnt realize I was not initially fully eligible to upgrade, but reset my eligibility to the full discount! so I got the s3 for $200.
you think i was going to say something? NO! lol

yep, they werent supposed to do that either. I was told that the $165 was non-refundable, but I got that back also
