DbgToStorageLog

My P3300 (ROM 1.12.411.1 RUS) always creates annoying log files:
DbgToStorageLog0.txt - DbgToStorageLog3.txt, size approx. 3mb each
I cant find any solution to disable them, any suggestions?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1042471
no solution i guess.
And no discussion

I also have the same problem. I hard reset today and already I have 4 dbgtostoragelog files (2 are over 1.5 mb).
I followed the links in this thread but nothing is in English so don't know what to do - am I alone on this !!!!
pna,
the manual in the link U have visited sugests the real solution of the trouble. To prevent it, one should create the following files in the root directory of his Artemis:
DbgToStorageLog0.txt
DbgToStorageLog1.txt
DbgToStorageLog2.txt
DbgToStorageLog3.txt
DbgToStorageLog4.txt
New anoying files will not come any longer after doing that, and your "hand made" files will never grow.
Many thanks nemo8...have just done it so hopefully all is now fixed.

Hopefully not a silly question: ROM Backup

Hello all,
I have seen instructions for backing up the OS ROM of a device, and these seem to involve specifying the memory range to be dumped from the ROM to the SD card.
My question is this:
Is the memory range to be dumped the same for every device?
I have a Hermes, and have seen instructions for Universal and Himalaya.
Would the instructions for Hermes backup be exactly the same?
Thanks, in advance.
I don't normally like to bump threads, but no one's answered this in 13 days and 100 views...
Is there anyone who can quickly answer this for me, please?
Thanks.

== END EDIT ==
Hi there,
First of all! Great forum! You guys have build a great community and I like it. But I hope you can help me with this. i know there are a lot of threads about this, but because all the different type of phones/android versions ect... I don't know what to do...
My question, how can I get Adroid running on my HTC Touch Pro 2 (Rhodium). I have the standart version, so not a branded one.
I've tried to install it but android won't launch. Maby one of you could create a mini tutorial or a noob tutorial, because I think there are more people like me (with less knowedge of phone tech) who want to run android on their phones. I hope you could help me!
Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Sami

If you are installing this over an old version of android, and you do not format your SD card, make sure that you at least delete data.img file from your SD card!

Haret is part of the android program. (haret.exe)
You can either use a file explorer to navigate to storage card/android/haret
or with the .cab installs (anything after 2/22) you will get an icon in your start menu.

Thank you! It works now, but is it a known problem that you cant fill in the correct code (PIN code for your SIM?).
And second I can't charge my battery with the usb cable is this also a known problem?
Thanks

I have Android installed on my phone and it works fine except one MAJOR thing. I messed up the touch screen calibration and now I can't use the touch screen in android and I cant figure out how to recal the touch screen in android.
Got it. i just deleted the ts calibration file from the android project folder and started android again.

Ok man maybe you can help me out with the problem im having. I go to file explorer and i launch Haret.exe and it immediately takes me to the linux booting page with the penguin at top. But it soon stops saying "Cant access tty. Job control turned off. And it doesnt move from there. What am i doing wrong?
delete all the contents from the .cab file you downloaded, make sure your memory card has wiped any remaining files from the original download, re-install and make sure you are downloading the correct .cab file for your handset, install to memory card and try again.
Yo Ihwparis chill out. This is a forum for information trading and gathering. Everyone was a noob at one time or another including you and asked questions that have been asked a million times already. Stop treating people like idiots. Help them or stop reading the thread. Someone else will help them out. It's not that serious. I can tell you one problem here that I encountered was a thread would be started and trail off into someting completely different never answering the first question. After reading pages upoon pages you get nothing. Some people like myself have real lives and real jobs and dont have time to sit here and read every post. If you take it so serious maybe you should sticky an informative how to guide and maybe that will stop people from bothering you so much.

I was actually on XDA for about 6 months, reading, before I finally decided to even MAKE an account, because I didn't want to be "That Noob". It was about another 6 months to a year before I posted anything at all. As you said yourself, most questions have already been asked a million times. This means that it is only a matter of reading, before you find someone that has asked the same question. In most cases once you find the question, and read a little further it leads you to the answer. He was smart enough to post in the correct sub-forum, which means he must have read through the forums a bit anyways. It wouldn't have taken much more work to read the top 3 sticky threads in that same sub-forum, and find the answer to the question.
I can get the whole thing to load however I cannot ever get the start screen (touch the androind to start) to ever let me touch it. The only thing that works is the keyboard input. Any suggestions?

[Q] missing startup.txt, haret, etc..

Hi,
I searched the forums;
I searched the Internet - still no answer.
So please avoid comments like - try to seach harder.
I have already running HD2 with Froyo.
I got my friend's Raphael and downloaded the thing which is to be placed in andboot.
After that I tried to locate the haret and startup.txt. Yes, I went to the wiki, found the link for the startup.txt which lead me to an empty page.
So, please tell me where is the startup.txt for Raphael?
Is the hared from HD2 compatible with Raphpael?
Thank you
Hi orlean
I take it you unzipped the package you downloaded?
If so, take a look at the "\andboot\STARTUP CONFIG\"-folder. There you'll find several startup.txt's.
You should find haret itself already placed in the "\andboot\"-folder.
If this is not the case try downloading the following full bundle with everything you need included:

Note: You'll need a new data.img as this package is signed. Otherwise you'll get a bootloop
Also you'll need to select English IME if you want to type in english.

I'm not sure if starting a new thread is the right thing to do since there is a specific thread for Android related querries here.
Anyway, if you downloaded babijoee's XDANDROID.2.2.AOSP.FRX01.17.09.10.UPDATE_PACKAGE.7z, then the the startup.txt is in the Startup Config folder. If your friends device is a raph100 then it's in the Raph folder.
Haret is in the root of the archive. It should be the same as HD2's but, would you mind uploading it here so we can test? I heard that pongster's ROM uses a newer version.
edit:
Beat me by two minutes Preggy, but different approach to the solution.

Filesystem, Filemanager...

Known Filemanager.
Most popular is sTune.
PSAS 1.5 with TFS Browser (Samsung Modem)
PSAS can create folder.
BUT folder can't be delete.
Write protected. So maybe this is 1 reason why not possible in sTune...
TkFileExplorer_2.2.exe
Seems Original leaked Samsung stuff, but extreme old... 2001 or something.
Not really tested yet by me.
Maybe someone saw newer Version TkFileExplorer?
PSAS will soon offer few more features.
In PSAS 1.5 SD card is included, so not use Backup to Zip...
Best Regards
P.S.:
One dream is an Filemanager bada App on handset.
But at the moment it seems many restrictions, so no access to internal FS from handset...
gr8 information buddy
stune hangs a lot
still searching for the best file manager!
it wud be really helpful if u cud provide the download links..............for all these managers
THAKUR90
see section bada utilities u will get all these
sTune I used many times without problems.
PSAS 1.5 has few problems at the moment.
BUT will fix soon in new Version.
http://psas.revskills.de/
- Backup FS to Zip not work correctly
But you can create folders.
TkFileExplorer is attached. But not tested by me... maybe tooooo old.
Maybe someone could upload newer or complete TKTool.
Best Regards

I'm working on a FileExplorer for Samsung Wave, you can read about it in the other bada section (which i'm not allowed to post in):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=958457
I had a good play with TkFileExplorer. It should be able to connect with the Wave, but I was not able to make a connection stick.
TkFileExplorer isn't very friendly in terms of how to set it up, but I was able to get it to at least try and connect to the phone. However it times out afterwhile, and you see there's a new drive letter P:. But it disappears from TkFileExplorer as soon as you click ok on the error message screen.
I tried connecting it in Kies mode and also usb debugging mode. Still not sure which one it's supposed to be set to. But I did find some posts for older Samsung phones where they connected in PC Studio mode.
I'm going to try again on another computer as I think the usb drivers and such might be conflicting.
It might help to know what the COM settings are that WaveBackup and sTune use to connect to the phone. I've been leaving all the settings at default but there might be some trickery that needs to occur.
About incoming WaveBackup Tool.
More and more progress, see Screenshot of Version 1.0.7

Thanks man! you save me!
You're welcome! I just uploaded Version 1.0.10 to my homepage. It has an option to add files and folders to a 'blacklist' so that they won't be copied in file explorer operations anymore.
... Mortara hello I've been on your forum and I downloaded the application ... Unfortunately, the release is 1.0.9 ... where that next ... thanks by psycoy
Oh, sorry, you're right. Something must have gone wrong with the upload. I've fixed that now, so just download it again from my homepage (can't put external links here yet).
Version 1.0.12 of WaveBackup is up since a few days. I have done some smaller changes to stop annyoing owners of Wave II and 723 with that long error-message when connecting. Another change is that sizes of folders will be displayed now in explorer view, when the complete folder tree has been fetched. I've also fixed a few bugs.
Oh, and last but not least: Files can be copied now to the phone in explorer view (but still restricted to some special folders (<Appid>/Data for example)
I still can't post in the other bada board here, where the 'real' WaveBackup Thread can be found, so i hope everyone there sees this too!
@ All
I found a "new" version of TkFileExplorer - 2.4, it works fine with my Wave. TkFileExplorer is able to delete or rename folders and it is more stable than sTune.
