Okay got this taken care of and have it upgraded now. Really not that bad if you just follow the directions that are given.

FYI this is not an ASAP question. relax
There are plenty of links in here telling you how to install 6.1, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374890
If 6 is installed....it's very simple.
Download the ROM 6.1 and on your desktop run it.
Follow the dirextions in the command prompt box and make sure your memory card is OUT and battery is fully charged prior to updating.
there are no other files to run except 6.1 rom
danger danger. Do some reading in the Kavana thread to familurize yourself with the procedure

how to get back to tmobile original settings and software?

Hi,
A few weeks ago I flashed my rom and now Im trying to get back to the original tmobile settings/software so that I can sell my phone. I have no idea how to do this. If someone could give me step by step instructions, that would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you =)
there is a thread here with links to the original roms including the t-mobile rom...shouldn't be hard to find. Just flash and boom, phone is like it was when you bought it.
Browse into my sig and look in smart phone\roms and find T-mobile something .6
download and use a romupdate.exe to install

Is upgrading really that easy?

Okay so I just bought a Sprint Vogue on eBay a few days ago, and I'm really liking NSFfan's 6.1 rom. I downloaded the zip, and in it is the RomUpdateUtility. Do I really just run that and it updates it?
It seems too easy, but I'm having trouble finding a proper tutorial, probably because the phone is a few years old. Any help is appreciated!

It is pretty easy...you do flash to custom roms lik NSFfan just lik a regular update.
BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT
You cant do any of this without unlockin your phone first. it wont work unless u unlock ur phone first with the coke unlocker mentioned in the link above at ppcgeeks.
So all I have to do is run the unlocker, then open the RUU file, choose the nbh (or whatever) file, and that's it? It seems WAY too easy!
1. Put NFSFAN rom files into the same folder as the unlocker.
2. Run the unlocker and follow on-screen instructions
3. Once its all done, hard reset your phone to eliminate possible glitches
3. Done

Yes.
Unlock, flash.
Dang, I'm really having trouble pulling the trigger. I like HTC Home, how the weather is integrated and whatnot.
What are the major advantages of custom roms? Speedier maybe?
Well when I first got my phone, I was liking the cube and UI, but thought I would pull the trigger on unlocking and flashing a custom rom. I put on nfsfans rom v8 and love it. I'm having some minor issue with connecting to the internet while on roam, but it works great otherwise. You won't regret flashing. The wm6.5 UI took a little to get used to but I love it now. Much better then the cube. Try and see what u like, you can always flash back to your stock rom.

Yeah that was one of my questions, I can always go back to stock right? I don't like the look of 6.5 no offense, so I was just going to do the custom 6.1. I'm worried about having major issues on stuff I use regularly though.
I hate how people always link to other websites. It makes it seem that there aren't any good guides here. I need to unlock my phone but I can't seem to get ahold of the I'mcoke unlocker. I've found tons of posts for the Vogue in OUR forums leading to guides in OTHER peoples forums most of which have codes or downloads that you can't see unless you register. Regardless none of them show links to the coke unlocker.

Links to the unlockers are in the reply from the first post. You will see links beginning in ftp:// and http:/ .The first post of the ppcgeeks thread is pretty much a guide you just need to read it a few times. If some of you don't like the look of 6.5 then just flash a 6.5 rom with Manila 2D cooked in such as NFSFANS 6.5 V8

[Q] Custom Rom installation service - London?

Hi all...
After waiting ages for the official HTC GB update and being totally let down I have decided to bite the bullet and get a custom rom on my Desire.
However the custom rom for n00bs guide still seems scarily complex with so many different steps to complete.
So my question is this - does anyone know anywhere in London (ideally in Wandsworth or the City of London) where I can pay to get the latest version of Leedroid installed for me? I know there are places that can unlock your sim or repair your cracked screen so surely there must be places that will root your device and install your rom of choice.
Thanks in advance
CB.
It might look scary at first but trust me it's not, after you flash few ROM's you will change them weekly lol.
Take a look on those video tutorials: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
I'm sure someone local to you could help you do it, if you really don't fancy following the guide, in exchange for a few beverages or something. I'm not local tho
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

That would also work... more than happy to spring for a few beers if someone was willing to help me out.
Lol I'm in London W5 if you're that desperate
Ship your phone to me, along with 50 quid and a stamped, self-addressed return envelope, and I'll be happy to help!
Otherwise...many, many folks have gone thru the procedure (even total techno-phobes like myself!!) and come thru without dramas. And if you do the job yourself, you will know what to do if/when you decide to flash other ROMs in future...save forking out every time you want to update.
Yeah seriously, if you still find this all confusing, I'm sure someone would be willing to take you through step by step, or further explain those guides.. You can PM me and I'd be willing to help.
+1
You should really do it yourself, in case you will have update it in the future...

Where would be easy for you to get to? Ealing Broadway is quite easy for me, pehaps one weekend or one evening after work. I have a netbook I can bring and I'd obviously pay you for your trouble.
I didn't have a clue how to root my Desire, but on monday after the whole bit about the HTC GB release I decided to give it a try.
Took me a while, but I followed the instructions carefully and now have a great Desire running GingerVillain 2.7.
Seriously, follow the guide given and you should have no problems.
I'm not a techno whizz but even I managed it.
cha cha
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but is there anyone in London preferably North or maybe East who could help me with this?
My better half has a cha cha which has the usual woes and I gather I need an XTC clip to gain s-off and install a custom rom.
I'm not incredibly computer literate, but I think i could install the rom assuming someone can help me gain S-off. I'm happy to pay for the service.
Thanks

a quick read of this chacha thread will be more useful, says you don't need XTC clip.
you can unlock your bootloader via HTCdev. it won't give you s-off, but you can still root and install custom rom.
in all honesty you'd be much better off learning how to do it yourself. it sounds daunting at first, many people who have gone down this route have had no prior experience. like many things it really is about patience, reading and understanding. plus it's more satisfying
My mistake, I think I may be confusing myself.
I read this bit
"Therefore you cannot install a custom ROM on a non-S-OFF-non-bootloader-unlocked-non-rooted-non-CWM phone. Understood? "
To mean that I needed s off to install a custom rom?

don't just read selective confusing bits, slow down, read the whole post again, several times.
i picked an easier to understand quote...
"Unlocking the bootloader will allow you to flash CWM, root your phone and install custom roms. Unlocking the bootloader will NOT give you S-OFF!"
this is all part of the reading and learning i mentioned i don't even own that phone but a quick read suggests that guide is pretty comprehensive...
if it still doesnt make sense search around in the chacha threads as it's for that phone, nothing to do with desire
good luck!

HTC ONE M9 Stuck in BOOTLOADER LOOP - Willing to Compensate

I recently bought a new HTC One M9 from Ebay brand new, the listing said it was unlocked and gsm. Unfortunately this was not true, so when i finally got it I had to unlock it myself which i managed but i went further and wanted to root my phone, as far as rooting after the step to install Team Win Recovery Project, I followed this tutorial: (youtube.com/watch?v=rOHN8byHAzk&t=941s) and basically im like all the other guys who have their phone stuck in bootloader loop, i've tried the RUU exe's from HTC they end up giving me a "Signagure" (spelt that way) error so i cant use that, i've cycled through multiple micro sd cards to try get the stock os to install in the download boot. i've getting roms they dont work and the loop just continues. Im lost guys...and heartbroken with a new uselss phone...IM WILLING TO PAY(within reason) anyone that can help me to get my phone back to normal.
The phone was from USA under Sprint, I tested my GSM network when I had it unlocked and it worked, I dont care if I can only get it back on Sprint, I just want it working again. Again I'm willing to Pay the person via PayPal to Help me out.
Thank you. you can contact me at [email protected]
Never ever follow video tutorials. They're outdated as soon as they get uploaded.
Depending on the firmware version of your phone you need different files for rooting your M9. That's why you ended up with a bootloop. The video doesn't give you that information.
Take a look at the ReadMe thread. It should explain all you need to know and contains all files you might need for recovering your phone.

THank you for replying im still busy looking for help on how to do this, I stand by my promise i will PayPal anyone that can help me save my device, I consider myself tech efficient in general, im just new to android - this is my first andeoid.
As said before, just look at the ReadMe thread. A bootloop isn't the end of the world. There's no need to pay anyone at this point since all files and information you need are available for free.
