is there a registry edit so that when i press the turn backlight button off (power button) so it locks into s2u2??
I don't know but I have it so that S2U2 activates when the backlight turns back on again. So I press the power button to switch it on, and S2U2 loads.
This is probably better for battery life so that you don't have the app running whenever you're not using the phone.
There is a setting to lock when the backlight turns off.
Have you actually looked in S2U2 settings to check this yet?
I withdraw my question.

Hi
My XDA IIs is wrking fine except that often when switching back on the backlight is minimised. When I adjust the backlight settings on battery it is OK, but then once again reverts to the slider being minimised upon restart.
The turn off backlight if device not used for is unchecked.
The turn on backlight when a button is pressed is checked.
The power setting is turn off device if not used for 2 minutes.
Any ideas.
Many thanks

when you say "restart" are you poking the stylus in the reset hole or holding down the power button?
holding down the power button turns off the backlight, holding it down again, turns it back on
I have had this problem when I changed the backlight setting. Try going into the Backlight properties under the "Battery Power" tab. Place a check in "Turn on backlight when a button is pressed or the screen is tapped."
Then go to the "Button Lock" properties and choose "Lock all buttons except Power button" so that only the power button will wake your unit. If this don't solve it, then it may be a software you installed.
hope that helps..
Guys,
Do you know of a WM5/WM6 utility that will lock the keypad controls when the screen goes blank after 5 mins on my Trinity? What I would want to happen is that I press either the power button to take it out of standby mode and activate all keys again as it is hen its in my pocket the buttons get pressed and aspects like the start menu or contacts open automatically.
What i want is like on the Orange C500 where you press * enter or something to activate the keypad.
Cheers

Simply go to your settings-system.key lock. There you can enable this function without a tool!
you can try an utility for vijay555 at www.vijay555.com, it locks by phone with the standard lock utility (the today plugin included by default) and turns off the screen, you can assign it to a key to have both things done automatically.
when you power on the device, you will have to unlock it to get the phone pad activated.
The default keylock does not work! It locks the softkeys but it does not lock the hard keys on the control pad as they often get touched and do things like access contacts etc when i do not want them too!!!
The default Keylock works for me- Orange SPV M700 with WM6 MunRus ROM- selecting 'Lock all keys except power key when off' also disables the navigation and phone keys.
It needed a couple of soft resets for it to take though.
tried that and it does not work?
or use the Slide2Unlock, it works excellent.
I configured it to lock when Light is dimmed, and then turn of the screen after 15 seconds, but without putting device in standby.
Then I disabled standby in the Power panel.
I also assigned to manually start it when pushing the button next to the power button.
So now I can start the music player, push that button and it will keep on playing. and to get back, I push the power button and slide finger over screen.
Done.
Real handy.
Don't forget to give some coffee to developer.
where is that utility?

So My question is is there any other locking program that automatically locks down the HD after a few secs or pressing the power off button briefly?
Cause clearly the autolock function on the HD sucks
S2U2 / Throttle Lock / AutoLock / TouchLockPro or the built-in lock function activated with the "HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\AutoDeviceLockEnable" that locks the phone when the backlight dims or you press the power button.
Hi, is it possible to press the power button once to put the phone to keylock and lights off?
thanks
you can also hold the END key
hey, i got it to work,
But i'm using S2u2 to do it with smarttoolkit.
http://s2u2.ac-s2.com/
Install S2u2 with onto the phone then use a freeware program called, mymobile.
http://www.mtux.com/
with it, i can change the s2u2 settings on the pc with the mouse.
then with smarttoolkit, i add a hotkey
http://smarttoolkit.wordpress.com/
I add S2u2 as a hotkey and i bind it to the power key.
now it works perfectly, just don't hold down the power button and tap it a few times.
it shuts the phone off. lol
I've set my phone screen to not lock when I turn the screen off using the power button. But I'm finding that pressing the volume, menu, home or any button is then turning the screen back on again, which is great except my screen timeout is set to 30 mins, and my battery gets eaten when im hitting a button by mistake in my pocket.
Is there a way of locking all buttons except the power button to turn the screen on and off? Im used to using my phone this wy in WM, and hopefully I can mimic this use with Android too.
Thank in advance
