When I flipped the touch pro 2 over during a call, it doesn't automatically switch to loudspeaker mode...but the green light on the back lights up... i wonder why...
it has to be perfectly horizontal.. if not you disabled it on the advanced phone settings
yupe...
must be flat surface
best put it on table... if still doesnt work; recalibrate the Gsensor...
thanks for the help guys. solution is to go to advance phone settings. Somehow the box for auto loudspeaker was checked. had to uncheck it and then check it again for it to work... werid but nevertheless resolved..

Hi all,
Is there anyway to disable the proximity sensor while on the phone?
When my 4 year old daughter uses the phone, she doesn't always hold it on her ear and the screen will go on and off and her face ends up pressing buttons and hangs up on whomever she's talking to.
I tried pressing the power button to turn the screen off, but once you touch the proximity sensor the screeen comes back on.
I'm using the stock Sprint ROM. Please help this is the most annoying feature of this phone.
Thanks i advance
-J
i saw that option in advanced config tools, if im not wrong
Nope, i just installed it and checked. It's not in there. Thanks for the suggestion though.
any other ideas?
S2U2 can turn off the screen on a call, haven't tried it on the TP2/Tilt 2 yet though as I personally like the proximity sensor, although sometimes I find it doesn't work.
FYI, when I let my 4yo use my Tilt 2 it's in speakerphone..
TouchLockPro
You can try TouchLockPro, it has a built in InCallTweak, using the GSensor.
Hey guys so my Tilt 2 has been having an issue when I put it to sleep. It goes to sleep fine, but when I wake it up the screen remains black. The actual device turns on, but the screen stays black. I can still make calls, receive calls, play music, etc. but I have to soft reset the device if I want to be able to see what I am doing.
From what I can tell my problem is different from the normal Sleep of Death issue where the device simply won't wake up.
I've searched through the forums looking for solutions and have tried pretty much everything from doing a hard reset, using different roms, formatting the internal memory, etc. Even after doing all of this, my device still suffers from this issue.
Any insight into my problem would be greatly appreciated!
I assume you've tried a simple reset using the reset button or pulling the battery out and putting it back in?

Yeah every time I the screen goes black I soft reset it in order to get the screen to turn back on. The problem is that the issue persists through soft resets. I currently can't suspend my device because I can't get the screen to turn back on...
hold down the volume down button and then press the reset button (the physical reset button) this should bring you into your bootscreen the multicoloured screen.. if you can get there then you can flash a new rom on your phone... and thats a whole other ball game. It gets a lot of hype as being hard but its really super easy to do if you just follow the directions.
Tilt 2 dark screen solved
With the tilt 2, if the screen does not wakeup, but you can answer the phone, hear music, etc..., it is a malfunctioning light sensor, maybe hardware, or software related (drivers), but it is fixable. Just eliminate all calls for use of the light sensor.
I had this problem and took quite a while to figure it out, as there are several apps that poll the light sensor that cause problems.
First, go to start/settings/system/power/backlight and uncheck the auto adjust backlight option
Second, go to start/settings/personal/buttons/backlight and uncheck the enable keyboard auto backlight sensor.
Last, open advanced config (need to download and install from touchxperience.com, if you do not have it), tab to light sensor and set light sensor polling to disabled.
Now, my phone works normal and will wake up properly from standby like it should. this all seems hardware dependant, as I have in my family 3 of these things and I dropped and broke mine, so bought a new one (4th in the series) and it had the SOD issues, but could restart with softrest. Took me the better part of the day to find a reliable fix, but now all is well again.
Hope this helps other Tilt 2 and similar issues.
hi every one,
My phone proximity sensor are not working i checked in the settings it's Turn On But Still The Are Not workings,... And Even i Install os Many Times Through Odin Because Of This Problem But No use ..
Please Help me Is This A Hardware issue
There's a way to check if it's malfunctioning. Start your phone, and head to the dialer, and type *#0*#, and a screen should come up with all sorts of buttons on it. Tap "Sensor" in the middle, and you should have a screen with a spinny thing. If you hold your hand near the proximity sensor, the white background should turn green and your phone should vibrate. If it doesn't do that, your sensor may be malfunctioning. To exit it, double-tap the back button until it exits.
what rom have you?

Same Problem
I had the same problem, I found it was the cover I had on my phone that prevented the phone to go back on during a call.
This is a problem related to the proximity sensor. It's something very hard to clean so I just disabled turn off screen during calls option. Just go to your dialer press menu button then click call settings you should see turn of screen calls option, disable it.
Your cheek probably touch to screen and press random buttons when you're on the phone so remember to turn off your screen by on off button so you dont touch buttons with your cheek.
Hope that solves your problem
edit: I found that sometimes blowing through the speaker makes proximity sensor work correctly for a while. It's not a practical solution though.

Thanks for the information everyone! I busted the screen a few months ago and assume that's whats causing it. I just didn't think that was it because it hadn't been a problem until well after I busted it. Ill disable this option and that will take care of it for my needs.
Hi,
I have a problem with my OP 9Pro.
After a phone call, the display sometimes stays black and it takes a while before you can use the device again.
Does anyone else have that and, above all, how can I solve the problem?
Many greetings and thanks
Mars
Are you on OOS12? I only experienced that bug in the short time I ran OOS12. One of the main reasons I reverted to OOS11 actually.
Yeah I get this too. From what I can tell, it seems to have something to do with the proximity sensor killing the screen when you put it up to your ear, then hanging when the call ends.
OOS11
Me too. On 11. Thinking it may be from Nova or Adguard. Until I figured out that I could hit the "screen on" button to regain control I would wait till the other person hung up. So, as a workaround that's what I do, hit the button.
That happens when the proximity sensor it's being blocked. If you have any screen protector over the camera notch (where the proximity sensor is) then that's why it's turning the screen off.
If you don't have anything covering the sensor then try making a call on another app (like WhatsApp) to see if the issue persists there too. If not then it might be the dial app, try restarting your phone.
If it happens on many messaging apps, and there's nothing covering the sensor, try downloading a sensor tester app to see if the proximity sensor is being triggered all the time. If it is then it's a hardware issue and you'll have to return your phone a get a new one.

Power button is unresponsive when the phone goes pitch black. Even switching the alert slider to something different doesn't trigger the fingerprint sensor on.
I'll try disabling pocket mode. I also found positive feedback about this when you enable the "Override force-dark" setting in Developer Options. See if that helps.
Has been happening to me from time to time since A12. I just hold volume up, volume down and power button at same time and reboot to recovery and restart from there. That fixes it really quick for me.
Yes, I'm on A12 because I thought it would get better here. But I had the same problem with the A11.
I haven't managed to solve the problem yet.
It also happens on Android 11 but it's not quite as bad here. The display turns on after a little while.
Where is the sensor actually? It's not the camera. It's to the right of the speaker. or?
Hi, Guess!
I got a solution from the Oneplus team. (1800 202 8888) / general phone tech support team helped me with these steps:
1- under setting search reset
2- click on Reset all settings
3- Reset all settings. click it.
As this is a normal reset will not lose your data.
The last option is if this doesn't work then we have to backup all data from the phone and do a factory reset.
or it's a hardware issue.
e-regards!
